We numerically demonstrate terahertz multichannel filters with independently tunable defect modes based on fractal photonic crystals. Single defect and multiple defects models are proposed to fabricate the multichannel terahertz filters. The facts that the wave functions of the defect states do not overlap and their bases are orthogonal lead to the independency among the defect modes. The simulated results theoretically provide the principle for fabricating independently tunable multichannel terahertz filters by utilizing one-dimensional photonic crystals with defects.  相似文献

A broadly tunable terahertz Solc-type birefringence filter is demonstrated. The first central passband frequency of the filter can be continuously tuned from 0.176 to 0.793 THz using magnetically controlled birefringence in nematic liquid crystals. 基于LiNbO3晶体垂直表面输出技术,设计了一台小型化外腔THz参量振荡器。利用小型化灯1064 nm脉冲激光器泵浦MgO:LiNbO3,通过优化设计三波非共线相位匹配的光学参量振荡腔结构,实现THz垂直晶体表面输出,减少LiNbO3晶体对THz波的吸收,提高了THz波输出光束质量。当在泵浦光能量为128 mJ、重复频率为10 Hz时,获得THz波的调谐范围为0.69~3.01 THz,在1.6 THz处获得THz波最大平均功率为10.8 W,脉冲宽度为10 ns,对应THz波能量转换效率为8.4310-6。  相似文献

A tunable metamaterial absorber (MA) with dual-broadband and high absorption properties at terahertz (THz) frequencies is designed in this work. The MA consists of a periodic array of flower-like monolayer graphene patterns at top, a SiO2 dielectric spacer in middle, and a gold ground plane at the bottom. The simulation results demonstrate that the designed MA has two wide absorption bands with an absorption of over 90% in frequency ranges of 0.68 THz-1.63 THz and 3.34 THz-4.08 THz, and the corresponding relative bandwidths reach 82.3% and 20%, respectively. The peak absorptivity of the absorber can be dynamically controlled from less than 10% to nearly 100% by adjusting the graphene chemical potential from 0 eV to 0.9 eV. Furthermore, the designed absorber is polarization-insensitive and has good robustness to incident angles. Such a high-performance MA has broad application prospects in THz imaging, modulating, filtering, etc.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate a mechanically tunable metamaterials terahertz(THz) dual-band bandstop filter. The unit cell of the filter contains an inner aluminum circle and an outside aluminum Ohm-ring on high resistance silicon substrate. The performance of the filter is simulated by finite-integration-time-domain(FITD) method. The sample is fabricated using a surface micromachining process and experimentally demonstrated using a THz time-domain-spectroscopy(TDS) system. The results show that, when the incident THz wave is polarized in y-axis, the filter has two intensive absorption peaks locating at 0.71 THz and 1.13 THz, respectively. The position of the high-frequency absorption peak and the amplitude of the low-frequency absorption peak can be simultaneously tuned by rotating the sample along its normal axis.The tunability of the high-frequency absorption peak is due to the shift of resonance frequency of two electrical dipoles,and that of the low-frequency absorption peak results from the effect of rotationally induced transparent. This tunable filter is very useful for switch, manipulation, and frequency selective detection of THz beam.  相似文献

Repetitively pulsed and cw gyrotrons have hitherto used thermionic cathodes, whereas cold cathode gyrotrons have normally operated as single shot devices. The novel results presented here show that cold cathode gyrotrons can be successfully pulsed repetitively. A tunable gyrotron with a pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of 150Hz is demonstrated. This system developed >4MW mm-wave output pulses at 100GHz. The gyrotron is based on a two-electrode configuration comprising a field-immersed, field emission, cold cathode and a shaped anode cavity. A superconducting magnet was used to produce the homogeneous intra-cavity magnetic field and a cable pulser was used to drive the electron beam. This pulser produced up to a (200±20)kV pulse with 10ns rise time, a 100ns flat top, a 10ns decay with a characteristic impedance of 200. The energy storage capacity of the cable pulser was 35J. The charging unit limited the maximum PRF to 330Hz. Due to spark gap switching limitations 330Hz was only obtainable in 5 to 10 pulse bursts. For substantial periods of the order of 30 seconds, 100Hz PRF was achieved over an oscillating range of 28 to 100GHz and 150Hz PRF was achieved at 80GHz. No degradation effects on the mm-wave output pulse was evident due to diode recovery time throughout this series of results. A subsequent conclusion is that the diode recovery time in our cold cathode gyrotron is less than 3ms.  相似文献

设计了一个可调谐的太赫兹超表面,由在随机反射超表面基底中嵌入可偏置的双层石墨烯构成,可以实现对太赫兹波散射特性的动态调控.全波仿真试验结果证实了所预期的超表面散射可调性能.通过增大偏置电压提升石墨烯的费米能级,使得该超表面的太赫兹波散射样式从漫反射逐渐向镜面反射过渡,从而实现散射特性的连续调控,且该超表面具有对电磁波极化角度不敏感的特点.这些特性使得该超表面能很好地融合到变化的环境中,在太赫兹隐身方面具有潜在的应用价值.  相似文献

The gyromagnetic properties of ferrite materials and the nonreciprocal property of a silicon-ferrite photonic crystal cavity are investigated in the terahertz region. Through the structure optimization and analysis of defect mode coupling, we design a magnetically tunable circulator, of which central operating frequency can be tuned from 180 to 205 GHz and the maximum isolation is 65.2 dB. Moreover, the further study shows that the gyrotropy, dispersion, and ferromagnetic loss of ferrite materials under the different external magnetic fields greatly affect the transmission and isolation property of this device. This circulator is flexible to realize functions of controllable splitting, routing, filtering and isolation by changing the external magnetic field for the THz applications.  相似文献

An actively enhanced resonant transmission in a plasmonic array of subwavelength holes is demonstrated by use of terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. By connecting this two-dimensional element into an electrical circuit, tunable resonance enhancement is observed in arrays made from good and relatively poor metals. The tunable feature is attributed to the nonlinear electric response of the periodic hole array film, which is confirmed by its voltage–current behavior. This finding could lead to a unique route to active plasmonic devices, such as tunable filters, spatial modulators, and integrated terahertz optoelectronic components.  相似文献

We explore the full parameter space for laser operation and compile guidelines for building improved Ge lasers, especially for continuous wave applications. We present laser emission from p-type Ge lasers with small volumes at high repetition rates and with inter-contact distances as low as 750 μm. The emission is analyzed as a function of the current–voltage characteristic. The Poisson equation is solved to determine the electric field distribution and two new laser designs are presented.  相似文献

By use of an incipient ferroelectric, SrTiO3, as a defect material inserted into a periodic structure of alternating layers of quartz and high-permittivity ceramic, thermal tuning of a single defect mode over the entire lowest forbidden band was obtained. 报道了利用脉宽可调的光子晶体光纤飞秒激光放大器抽运矩形波导结构的GaP晶体太赫兹(THz) 发射器产生频率可调谐的超快THz脉冲.非线性晶体中光整流过程产生的THz辐射频率随抽运光脉冲宽度而 变化. GaP波导THz发射器可通过波导的几何尺寸来控制色散,以达到增加有效作用长度和提高输出功率的目的. 不同横截面尺寸的波导型发射器的THz辐射峰值频率随相位匹配条件的改变而改变,加以脉宽调节技术, 可以在大频谱范围获得频谱精细可调的THz脉冲.实验中在1 mm×0.7 mm的波导型THz发射器中获得了 频率可调谐的THz脉冲.提出实现THz辐射频率大范围调谐的GaP波导型阵列发射器的实施方案.  相似文献

通过对磁场控制下的二维磁光子晶体太赫兹波偏振传输特性的研究,利用铁氧体磁光材料的磁导率随外磁场改变而变化的特点,设计了具有可控起偏、偏振分束和可调谐波片功能的光子晶体太赫兹偏振控制器件.利用平面波展开法和严格耦合波分析分别计算了光子晶体带隙位置和透过率随外磁场强度变化的关系,用时域有限差分法计算了场分布和相位.结果表明,该结构可以实现高偏振消光比的偏振起偏器和分束器,以及在1 THz附近-π-π相位范围的连续可调谐波片. 关键词: 太赫兹 光子晶体 铁氧体 偏振控制  相似文献

The Josephson vortex (JV) lattice is a periodic array that scatters electromagnetic waves in the THz-frequency range. We show that JV lattices can produce a photonic band-gap structure (THz photonic crystal) with easily tunable forbidden zones controlled by the in-plane magnetic field. The scattering of electromagnetic waves by JVs results in a strong magnetic-field dependence of the reflection and transparency. Fully transparent or fully reflected frequency windows can be conveniently tuned by the in-plane magnetic field. These proposals are potentially useful for controllable THz filters.  相似文献

利用中空布拉格光纤结构,设计了一种新型的磁场调制液晶太赫兹开关.通过在包层中采用周期交错的高密度聚乙烯和向列相液晶E7,并施加外磁场控制液晶的取向来改变液晶的折射率,从而实现开关的功能.该设计使开关宜于与光纤耦合,损耗小且能实现单模传输.采用有限元法模拟了开关的各项参数,数值计算表明,此开关的消光比可达2634 dB. 关键词: 太赫兹开关 布拉格光纤 液晶  相似文献

We demonstrate a tunable cw terahertz (THz) parametric oscillator based on periodically poled MgO-doped lithium niobate, directly converting the 1030 nm pump wave into the THz regime. The tunability ranges from 1.2 to 2.9 THz at output power levels between 0.3 and 3.9 μW. To overcome the high pump threshold caused by THz absorption in the nonlinear crystal, we employ an enhancement cavity with a finesse of 500 at the pump wavelength. The intracavity pump threshold at 1.4 THz is measured to be 350 W for a crystal length of 2.5 cm.  相似文献

Theoretical and experimental work was carried out on a terahertz metamaterial bandstop filter comprising an array of identical subwavelength resonators, each formed by fusing a pair of printable metallic U-shapes that have their openings pointing in opposite directions. Linear frequency tunability of the stopband electromagnetic response can be achieved by altering the overlap distance between the two fused shapes. Tuning does not significantly affect the strength or quality factor of the resonance. An approach to create mechanically tunable, dynamic terahertz filters is thereby suggested, with several functional advantages. Meanwhile, an effective equivalent circuit model based on self-inductance, mutual inductance, and capacitance has been proposed.  相似文献

太赫兹回旋管可实现高功率输出,并具有一定的频率调谐范围,是核磁共振波谱系统理想的高功率太赫兹辐射源。设计了263 GHz,TE5,2基波连续调谐回旋管,通过磁场调节实现频率调谐范围为1.39 GHz,利用时域多模多频自洽非线性理论对设计的连续调谐回旋管非稳定振荡状态进行了研究。结果表明,在低次纵向谐波模式工作磁场范围内,当工作电流大于起振电流时,连续调谐回旋管先进入稳定状态,高次纵向谐波模式被抑制,工作模式TE5,2的输出功率随时间不变;当电流增大,纵向谐波模式间的竞争引起回旋管由稳定状态进入到非稳定振荡状态,工作模式TE5,2的输出功率随时间呈振荡变化且互作用效率大大降低;随着电流的进一步增大,回旋管又回到与低电流不同的稳定状态,互作用效率进一步降低。同时发现非稳定振荡状态的起始电流随着磁场增加而增大。本研究对需工作于稳定状态的面向DNP-NMR应用的连续调谐太赫兹回旋管的研制具有一定指导意义。  相似文献
