Synthesis and some transformations of thioesters of thienylacrylic acid

A number of thioesters of thienylacrylic acid were obtained by the condensation of 2-formylthiophene and 5-bromo-2-formylthiophene with acetylenic thioethers in the presence of boron trifluoride etherate. The reaction of the condensation products with hydrazine hydrate is accompanied by intramolecular cyclization to form the corresponding pyrazolines. The synthesis of dimethyltartaric, diphenyltartaric and dibenzyltartaric acids as products of the reaction of V²⁺ aqueous with pyruvic, phenylglyoxylic and phenylpyruvic acids is described.     

Synthesis and some properties of complexones,succinic acid derivatives

Approaches to the synthesis of complexones, succinic acid derivatives, from maleic acid and amino derivatives were considered. Acid-base properties of these complexones were studied.     

某些胆酸及去氧胆酸肟类化合物的合成

从胆酸和去氧胆酸出发,经过不同反应,将甾核以及支链上的取代基分别转化为羰基及酯基,然后和盐酸羟胺反应引进肟基,合成了六个新的甾体肟类化合物:7-羟基-12-氧代-3-肟基胆酸甲酯(5)、7,12-二氧代-3-肟基胆酸甲酯(6)、12-氧代-3,7-二肟基胆酸甲酯(7)、3,7,12-三肟基胆酸甲酯(8)、12-氧代-3-肟基去氧胆酸甲酯(12)、3,12-二肟基去氧胆酸甲酯(13)。通过NMR和IR对合成物5~10的结构进行了表征。     

Synthesis of some O,O-diethyl S-(β-acylaminoethyl) dithiophosphates

The ethyleneimides of N-phthalyl-D,L-valine, N-phthalyl-D,L-glycine, N-phthalyl-D,L-alanine, N-carbobenzoxy-D,L-valine, N-benzoyl-D,L-leucine, and of the -methyl ester of N-carbobenzoxy-L-glutamic acid and monomethyl succinate were synthesized. A number of O,O-diethyl S-(-acrylaminoethyl) dithiophosphates were obtained by opening the ethyleneimine ring in the ethyleneimides of N-acylated amino acids with diethyl dithiophosphoric acid. Synthesis,physico-chemical and antimicrobial screening studies of some transition metal complexes with O:O donor ligands

The solid complexes of Mn^II, Fe^III, Co^II, Ni^II and Cu^II with 3-(3-furan-2yl-acryloyl)-6-methyl-pyran-2,4-dione(L¹) and 3-(3-thiophene-2yl-acryloyl)-6-methyl-pyran-2,4-dione (L²) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, conductometry, thermal analysis, magnetic, i.r., P-n.m.r., u.v.–vis, X-ray diffraction and antimicrobial study. From the analytical and spectral data, the stoichiometry of the complexes has been found to be 1:2 (metal:ligand). I.r. spectral data suggest that the ligand behaves as a dibasic bidentate ligand with O:O donor sequence towards metal ions. The physico-chemical data suggests distorted octahedral geometry for Cu^II complexes and octahedral geometry for all other complexes. The X-ray diffraction suggests an Orthorhombic crystal system for the Cu^II complex and Monoclinic crystal system for Co^II and Ni^II complexes of ligand L¹. The ligands and their metal complexes were screened for antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and the fungicidal activity against Aspergillus flavus, Curvularia lunata and Penicillium notatum.

Synthesis and study of some derivatives of cinchoninic acid

2-(4-Phenylquinolin-2-yl)cinchoninic and 2-(quinoxalin-2-yl)-5,6-benzocinchoninic acids have been synthesized. They have been subjected to decarboxylation and their chlorides and esters, amides, and anilides have been prepared. Synthesis and characterization of some pyrimidine, purine, amino acid and mixed ligand complexes

Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes of barbital, thiouracil, adenine, amino acids (methionine, lysine and alanine) and some mixed ligands were prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility and ESR spectra. Coordination of the metallic centre to the oxygen and nitrogen atoms of barbital, thiouracil, amino acids and coordinate to amino group and nitrogen atom of adenine occurred. Electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements were utilized to infer the structure of the complexes which are octahedral for Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cd(II) and tetrahedral for Mn(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) complexes. ESR spectra were observed for copper complexes with a d(x2)-(y2) ground state with small g(||) values indicating strong interaction between the ligands and their metal ions.

Esters of phosphorodithioic acid are of importance in pesticide formulations¹ and as oil additives.² The widely used method of preparation is to reflux the alkali metal salt of dialkyl phosphorodithioic acid with an alkyl bromide in alcoholic solution,³ i.e.     

Synthesis of phosphonocinnamic thioesters, substrate analogues of cinnamoyl-CoA reductase, a key enzyme in the lignification process

The one-pot transesterification of diethylarylvinylphosphonates with N-acetylcysteamine has been achieved using phosphonochloridates as intermediates. Reaction of phosphonodiesters with (COCl)₂ gave the corresponding chlorinated compounds, which were coupled with N-acetylcysteamine in presence of Et₃N.     

Synthesis, spectroscopic and thermal characterization of some transition metal complexes of folic acid

Compounds having general formula: [M(FO)(Cl)(x)(H(2)O)(y)].zH(2)O, where (M=Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II), FO=folate anion, x=2 or 4, y=2 or 4 and z=0, 1, 2, 3, 5 or 15) were prepared. The obtained compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared as well as electronic spectra, thermogravimetric analysis and the conductivity measurements. The results suggested that all folate complexes were formed by 2:1 molar ratio (metal:folic acid) as a bidentate through both of the two carboxylic groups. The molar conductance measurements proved that the folate complexes are electrolytes. The kinetic thermodynamic parameters such as: E*, DeltaH*, DeltaS* and DeltaG* were estimated from the DTG curves. The antibacterial evaluation of the folic acid and their complexes was also done against some Gram positive/negative bacteria as well as fungi.     

Synthesis and some transformations of O,O-diethyl S-(o-carboran-9-yl) thiophosphite

A synthesis is reported for O,O-diethyl S-(o-carboran-9-yl) thiophosphite and its transformations were studied. Synthesis,characterization, and antibacterial activities of some rare Earth metal complexes of pipemidic acid

Eight new solid complexes of pipemidic acid (PPA) with trichlorizated rare earth metals LaCl(3), CeCl(3), PrCl(3), NdCl(3), SmCl(3), TbCl(3), DyCl(3), and YCl(3) have been synthesized. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, NMR, and molar conductance measurements. The general formulas of the complexes are [M(PPA)(4)]Cl(3) (M=Ce(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Tb(III), Dy(III), Y(III)), and [La(PPA)(4)Cl]Cl(2). At the same time, the antibacterial activities of PPA and four of its complexes were tested. The results show that PPA and its complexes all have inhibitory action against bacteria of Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa but not Staphylococcus aureus. We compared their antibacterial activities and found that the antibacterial activity of [La(PPA)(4)Cl]Cl(2) against S. pneumoniae is much stronger than that of PPA and the other complexes.
