The organometallic tetraradical 1,2,4,5-[(eta)7-C7H7)V(all eta]5-C5H4)]4C6H2 has been prepared and structurally characterized. The isotropic EPR spectrum displays 29 a(51V) hyperfine lines, the intensity distribution slightly deviating from binomial. Exchange coupling therefore approaches the strong exchange limit, J(ortho) not equal to J(meta) not equal to J(para) greater or approximately 50 a(51V) with a(51V)= 0.0067 cm(-1). According to magnetic susceptometry, the interaction is antiferromagnetic. While redox splittings deltaE(1/2) are resolved for the four reduction steps this is not the case for oxidation.  相似文献

Trovacene Chemistry. 13 [1] On Being Lead and Mislead in the Synthesis of Di([5]trovacenyl)ketone Di([5]trovacenyl)ketone ( 3¨ ) has been prepared from lithio‐[5]trovacene and dimethylcarbamoyl chloride and studied by X‐ray diffraction, cyclic voltammetry, magnetic susceptometry and EPR spectroscopy. Slight variation of the synthetic protocol affords an unusual trinuclear complex 5 ? that is also fully characterized. Spin‐spin exchange interaction is smaller in 3¨ than in 1,1‐di([5]trovacenylethene ( 2¨ ), which differs from 3¨ by a replacement of O for CH2. The novel trinuclear complex 5 ? , however, displays exchange coupling very similar to that observed in 1‐methoxy‐2,5,6‐tri([5]trovacenyl)benzene ( 7 ? ). In both cases, an unsymmetrical triangular arrangement of S = 1/2 centers is encountered. These findings are discussed in terms of the nature of the respective spacers.  相似文献

Reaction of [5]lithiotrovacene (TVC-Li) with tin dichloride affords the triradical complex (THF)(3)Li(+)[(TVC)(3)SnCl(2)](-) which was characterized by X-ray crystallography, cyclic voltammetry, EPR spectroscopy and magnetic susceptometry; redox splittings deltaE(1/2) ("electrocommunication") and the exchange parameters J(EPR) and J(chi) ("magnetocommunication") attest to inter vanadium interactions mediated by the central tin atom.  相似文献

The oxidative addition of one equivalent of [Cp2V] (4) to the tetrayne ligand tBuC triple bond CC triple bond CC triple bond CC triple bond CtBu (5) gives the monometallic complex [Cp2V(3-4eta-tBuC triple bond C-C2-C triple bond CC triple bond CtBu)] (7). Compound 7 reacts further with a second equivalent of [Cp2V] to give the dimetallic complex [(Cp2V)2(1-2eta:7-8eta-tBuC2-C triple bond CC triple bond C-C2tBu)] (8), which involves a shift of the first coordinated [Cp2V] unit from the internal C3-C4 to the external C1-C2 positions on the alkynyl ligand. Compound 8 is also directly obtained by the addition of two equivalents of [Cp2V] to 5. Reversibly, reaction of 8 with 5 leads to 7. This exchange reaction between 7 and 8 by adding successively 5 and 4 has been monitored by EPR spectroscopy. By contrast, the oxidative addition of one or two equivalents of [Cp2V] to the tetrayne ligand PhC triple bond CC triple bond CC triple bond CC triple bond CPh (6) gives the homodimetallic complex [(Cp2V)2(1-2eta:7-8eta-PhC2-CC triple bond CC triple bond C-C2-Ph)] (9). Both monometallic and dimetallic complexes 7, 8, and 9 have been characterized by X-ray diffraction. Magnetic moment measurements for 8 and 9 from 300 to 4 K indicated a weak antiferromagnetic J exchange coupling of -12.5 and -4.1 cm(-1), respectively.  相似文献

Density functional theory studies of the series of isomeric d(6) (pentacarbonyl)metal complexes (CO)(5)M(eta(1)-SO(2))(nq), (CO)(5)M(eta(1)-OSO)(nq)(), and (CO)(5)M(eta(2)-SO(2))(nq) (M = Ti-Hf, nq = 2-; M = V-Ta, nq = 1-; M = Cr -W, nq = 0; M = Mn-Re, nq = 1+; M = Fe-Os, nq = 2+) provide accurate structural modeling and quantitative prediction of the relative stabilities of the isomers. The eta(1)-S-bound complexes display planar SO(2) moieties that adopt staggered orientations with respect to the carbonyl ligands, in keeping with experimental observations. The OSO chain in the eta(1)-O-bound complexes generally adopts the u-shape with a staggered orientation. The dianions (CO)(5)(Ti-Hf)(eta(1)-OSO)(2-) differ in that the OSO chain adopts the eclipsed z-shape orientation. The eta(2)-SO(2) complexes exhibit a facial interaction and are stable only for anionic and neutral complexes, supporting the view that this motif involves substantial M --> SO(2) pi-back-bonding. The relative stabilities of the isomers generally follow u-shaped trends both across a row and down a family. This fits with qualitative ideas that the bond dissociation energies (BDEs) for the (CO)(5)M(SO(2))(nq) complexes track competition between relative hardness/softness of the metal fragment and its capacity for pi-back-bonding. Quantitatively, examination of BDEs by bond energy decomposition approaches suggests that electrostatic considerations dominate bonding for the eta(1)-SO(2) complexes and covalent effects dominate for the eta(2)-SO(2) species, while both are important for eta(1)-OSO complexes.  相似文献

Five new paramagnetic dinuclear complexes containing [5]trovacenyl groups, (eta7-C7H7)V(eta5-C5H4-), have been prepared and characterized, including by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. As intervening spacers, ethenediyl units in the geminal and vicinal (Z)- and (E)-bridging modes as well as methanediyl and ethanediyl units have been included with the aim of studying their propensity to transmit electric and magnetic information. It is found that redox splitting of consecutive electron-transfer steps is resolved for reduction (0-->1- -->2-) only, unsaturation of the C2 bridge not being requisite, since the -CH2CH2- spacer also gives rise to a small redox splitting. Magnetic communication is quantified in terms of the exchange coupling constant J, accessible from the EPR hyperfine pattern in solution and from magnetic susceptometry in the solid state. The results obtained from these methods generally differ; this fact is not surprising in view of conformational differences in the respective states of aggregation. It is concluded that orientation-dependent mechanisms of spin-spin interactions (pi-orbital overlap, hyperconjugation) contribute extensively although, as implied by sizeable J values for -CH2- and -C2H4- linked di[5]trovacenyl groups, coupling mediated by the sigma-orbital chain must also be considered.  相似文献

The construction of a new set of [(eta5-C5Me5)MoS3Cu3]-based supramolecular compounds with different one-dimensional (1D) arrays from two preformed clusters [PPh4][(eta5-C5Me5)MoS3(CuX)3] (X = Br (1a), NCS (1b)) with 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpe) and 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane (bpp) is presented. Reactions of 1a with bpe in different molar ratios afforded ([((eta5-C5Me5)MoS3Cu3) 2(mu-bpe)3.5Br4].MeCN) n (2), ([((eta5-C5Me5)MoS3Cu3)2(mu-bpe)3Br4].Sol)n (3a: Sol = DMSO.3MeCN; 3b: Sol = 2aniline.3MeCN), ([((eta5-C 5Me5)MoS3Cu3)2(mu-bpe)3(bpe)Br4].0.35DMF)n (4), and ([((eta5-C5Me5)MoS3Cu3)2(mu-bpe)2(mu-Br)(mu3-Br)Br2].DMF.MeCN)n (5). On the other hand, treatment of 1a or 1b with bpp produced [(eta5-C5Me5)MoS3Cu3(mu-bpp)(mu-Br)Br]n (6) and ([((eta5-C5Me5)MoS3Cu3)2(mu-bpp)3(mu-NCS)2(NCS)](NCS))n (7). Compounds 2-7 have been characterized by elemental analysis, UV-vis spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, 1H NMR, and X-ray analysis. In 2, each [(eta5-C5Me5)MoS3Cu3] core serves as an angular two-connecting node to link other equivalent cores by single and double bpe bridges to form a 1D "Great Wall"-like chain. In 3a and 3b, the [(eta5-C5Me5)MoS3Cu3] cores are linked alternatively by single and double bpe bridges to give a 1D zigzag chain. In 4, six cluster cores (two as a two-connecting node and four as a three-connecting node) are connected by four single bpe and two double bpe bridges to form a cyclohexane-shaped repeating unit, which is further fused with other units to generate a 1D double-stranded chain. Compound 5 has a simple 1D zigzag chain consisting of the cluster cores linked by single bpe bridges. In 6, the cluster cores are linked by single bpp bridges to give a 1D helical chain, which further holds two symmetry-related chains through C-H...Br hydrogen-bonding interactions, thereby forming a 1D H-bonded triple-stranded chain. Compound 7 has a rare 1D quadruple chain, in which the [(eta5-C5Me5)MoS3Cu3] cores work as planar four- and five-connecting nodes to interconnect other equivalent cores through single bpp bridges and single and double thiocyanate bridges. In addition, the third-order nonlinear optical properties of 1a, 2, 3a, and 4-7 in aniline were also investigated by using the Z-scan technique with a 4.5 ns pulse laser at 532 nm.  相似文献

Reaction of the dinuclear [(CH2SiMe3)(mu-CH2SiMe3)Mn(THF)]2 (1) with an equivalent amount of 1,1-dipyrrolylcyclohexane afforded two compounds depending on the solvent employed. Reaction carried out in THF afforded the dinuclear ([1,1-(mu-C4H3N)(C4H3N)C6H10]Mn(THF)2)2.2(THF) (2) while reaction in toluene yielded the octanuclear and cyclic cluster ([1,1-(mu,eta1:eta5-C4H3N)2C6H10]Mn)8.4(toluene) (3). The magnetism in all three cases is dominated by intramolecular antiferromagnetic exchange with strong coupling in 1 (J=-85 cm(-1)), and in 2 (J=-23.2 cm(-1)), whereas substantially weaker coupling through the sigma/pi-bonded dipyrrolide bridges (J=-3.3 cm(-1)) was observed within the cyclic and octameric 3.  相似文献

To model the Ti-olefin interaction in the putative [eta(5): eta(1)-C(5)R(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu]Ti(R')(olefin)(+) intermediates in "constrained geometry" Ti-catalyzed olefin polymerization, chelated alkoxide olefin complexes [eta(5): eta(1)-C(5)R(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu]Ti(OCMe(2)CH(2)CH(2)CH=CH(2))(+) have been investigated. The reaction of [eta(5): eta(1)-C(5)R(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu]TiMe(2) (1a,b; R = H, Me) with HOCMe(2)CH(2)CH(2)CH=CH(2) yields mixtures of [eta(5)-C(5)R(4)SiMe(2)NH(t)Bu]TiMe(2)(OCMe(2)CH(2)CH(2)CH=CH(2)) (2a,b) and [eta(5): eta(1)-C(5)R(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu]TiMe(OCMe(2)CH(2)CH(2)CH=CH(2)) (3a,b). The reaction of 2a/3a and 2b/3b mixtures with B(C(6)F(5))(3) yields the chelated olefin complexes [[eta(5): eta(1)-C(5)R(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu]Ti(OCMe(2)CH(2)CH(2)CH=CH(2))][MeB(C(6)F(5))(3)] (4a,b; 71 and 89% NMR yield). The reaction of 2b/3b with [Ph(3)C][B(C(6)F(5))(4)] yields [[eta(5): eta(1)-C(5)Me(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu]Ti(OCMe(2)CH(2)CH(2)CH=CH(2))][B(C(6)F(5))(4)] (5b, 88% NMR yield). NMR studies establish that 4a,b and 5b exist as mixtures of diastereomers (isomer ratios: 4a/4a', 62/38; 4b/4b', 75/25; 5b/5b', 75/25), which differ in the enantioface of the olefin that is coordinated. NMR data for these d(0) metal olefin complexes show that the olefin coordinates to Ti in an unsymmetrical fashion primarily through C(term) such that the C=C pi bond is polarized with positive charge buildup on C(int). Dynamic NMR studies show that 4b/4b' undergoes olefin face exchange by a dissociative mechanism which is accompanied by fast inversion of configuration at Ti ("O-shift") in the olefin-dissociated intermediate. The activation parameters for the conversion of 4b to 4b' (i.e., 4b/4b' face exchange) are: DeltaH = 17.2(8) kcal/mol; DeltaS = 8(1) eu. 4a/4a' also undergoes olefin face exchange but with a lower barrier (DeltaH = 12.2(9) kcal/mol; DeltaS = -2(3) eu), for the conversion of 4a to 4a'.  相似文献

Ethylenediamine (en) solutions of [eta(4)-P(7)M(CO)(3)](3)(-) ions [M = W (1a), Mo (1b)] react under one atmosphere of CO to form microcrystalline yellow powders of [eta(2)-P(7)M(CO)(4)](3)(-) complexes [M = W (4a), Mo (4b)]. Compounds 4 are unstable, losing CO to re-form 1, but are highly nucleophilic and basic. They are protonated with methanol in en solvent giving [eta(2)-HP(7)M(CO)(4)](2)(-) ions (5) and are alkylated with R(4)N(+) salts in en solutions to give [eta(2)-RP(7)M(CO)(4)](2)(-) complexes (6) in good yields (R = alkyl). Compounds 5 and 6 can also be prepared by carbonylations of the [eta(4)-HP(7)M(CO)(3)](2)(-) (3) and [eta(4)-RP(7)M(CO)(3)](2)(-) (2) precursors, respectively. The carbonylations of 1-3 to form 4-6 require a change from eta(4)- to eta(2)-coordination of the P(7) cages in order to maintain 18-electron configurations at the metal centers. Comparative protonation/deprotonation studies show 4 to be more basic than 1. The compounds were characterized by IR and (1)H, (13)C, and (31)P NMR spectroscopic studies and microanalysis where appropriate. The [K(2,2,2-crypt)](+) salts of 5 were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. For 5, the M-P bonds are very long (2.71(1) ?, average). The P(7)(3)(-) cages of 5 are not displaced by dppe. The P(7) cages in 4-6 have nortricyclane-like structures in contrast to the norbornadiene-type geometries observed for 1-3. (31)P NMR spectroscopic studies for 5-6 show C(1) symmetry in solution (seven inequivalent phosphorus nuclei), consistent with the structural studies for 5, and C(s)() symmetry for 4 (five phosphorus nuclei in a 2:2:1:1:1 ratio). Crystallographic data for [K(2,2,2-crypt)](2)[eta(2)-HP(7)W(CO)(4)].en: monoclinic, space group C2/c, a = 23.067(20) ?, b = 12.6931(13) ?, c = 21.433(2) ?, beta = 90.758(7) degrees, V = 6274.9(10) ?(3), Z = 4, R(F) = 0.0573, R(w)(F(2)) = 0.1409. Cationic Re(V) oxo compounds of the type [ReO(OSiMe3)(eta 2-B(pz)4)(L)2]X [X = Cl, L = 4-(NMe2)C5H4N (1), 1-Meimz (1-methylimidazole; 2), 1/2 dmpe (1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane; 3), py (4a); X = I, L = py (4b)] can be prepared by reacting trans-[ReO2(eta 2-B(pz)4)(L)2] with XSiMe3. In solution, cations 1-4 are reactive species, and those with unidentate nitrogen donor ligands (1, 2, and 4) rearrange into the neutral derivatives [ReO(Cl)(OSiMe3)(eta 2-B(pz)4)(L)] [L = py (5), 4-(NMe2)C5H4N (6), 1-Meimz (7)], which are also reported herein. Compounds 1-3 and 5-7 have been fully characterized by the usual spectroscopic techniques, which in some cases includes X-ray crystallographic analysis (3, 6, and 7). Approaches to the assembly of (eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3-based supramolecular compounds from two preformed incomplete cubane-like clusters [PPh4][(eta5-C5Me5)WS3(CuX)3] (X = CN, 1a; X = Br, 1b) have been investigated. Treatment of 1a with LiBr/1,4-pyrazine (1,4-pyz), pyridine (py), LiCl/py, or 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) and treatment of 1b with 4,4'-bipy gave rise to a new set of W/Cu/S cluster-based compounds, [Li[((eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3(mu3-Br))2(mu-CN)3].C6H6]infinity (2), [(eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3(mu-CN)2(py)]infinity (3), [[PPh4][(eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3(mu3-Cl)(mu-CN)(CN)].py]infinity (4), [PPh4]2[(eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3(CN)2]2(mu-CN)2.(4,4'-bipy) (5), and [[(eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3Br(mu-Br)(4,4'-bipy)].Et2O]infinity (6). The structures of 2-6 have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, and single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Compound 2 displays a 1D ladder-shaped chain structure built of square-like [[(eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3(mu3-Br)(mu-CN)]4](mu-CN)2(2-) anions via two pairs of Cu-mu-CN-Cu bridges. Compound 3 consists of a single 3D diamond-like network in which each (eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3 unit, serving as a tetrahedral node, interconnects with four other nearby units through Cu-mu-CN-Cu bridges. Compound 4 contains a 1D zigzag chain array made of cubane-like [(eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3(mu3-Cl)(mu-CN)(CN)]- anions linked by a couple of Cu-mu-CN-Cu bridges. Compound 5 contains a dimeric structure in which the two incomplete cubane-like [(eta5-C5Me5)WS3(CuCN)2(mu-CN)]- anions are strongly held together via a pair of Cu-mu-CN-Cu bridges. Compound 6 contains a 2D brick-wall layer structure in which dimers of [(eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3Br(4,4'-bipy)]2 are interconnected via four Cu-mu-Br-Cu bridges. The successful construction of (eta5-C5Me5)WS3Cu3-based supramolecular compounds 2-6 from the geometry-fixed clusters 1a and 1b may expand the scope of the rational design and construction of cluster-based supramolecular assemblies.  相似文献

The thermolysis of the phosphinidene complex [Cp*P[W(CO)5]2] (1) in toluene in the presence of tBuC(triple bond)CMe leads to the four-membered ring complexes [[[eta2-C(Me)C(tBu)]Cp*(CO)W(mu3-P)[W(CO)3]][eta4:eta1:eta1-P[W(CO)5]WCp*(CO)C(Me)C(tBu)]] (4) as the major product and [[W[Cp*(CO)2]W(CO)2WCp*(CO)[eta1:eta1-C(Me)C(tBu)]](mu,eta3:eta2:eta1-P2[W(CO)5]] (5). The reaction of 1 with PhC(triple bond)CPh leads to [[W(Co)2[eta2-C(Ph)C(Ph)]][(eta4:eta1-P(W(CO)5]W[Cp*(CO)2)C(Ph)C(Ph)]] (6). The products 4 and 6 can be regarded as the formal cycloaddition products of the phosphido complex intermediate [Cp*(CO)2W(triple bond)P --> W(CO)5] (B), formed by Cp* migration within the phosphinidene complex 1. Furthermore, the reaction of 1 with PhC(triple bond)CPh gives the minor product [[[eta2:eta1-C(Ph)C(Ph)]2[W(CO)4]2][mu,eta1:eta1-P[C(Me)[C(Me)]3C(Me)][C(Ph)](C(Ph)]] (7) as a result of a 1,3-dipolaric cycloaddition of the alkyne into a phosphaallylic subunit of the Cp*P moiety of 1. Compounds 4-7 have been characterized by means of their spectroscopic data as well as by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis.  相似文献

Reduction of the dication [(eta5-Ind)(Cp)Mo[P(OMe)3]2]2+ (1(2+)) and oxidation of the neutral complex (eta3-Ind)(Cp)Mo[P(OMe)3]2 (1) proceed through a one-electron intermediate, 1+. The structures of 1(2+) and 1 have been determined by X-ray diffraction studies, which show the slip-fold distortion angle, Omega, of the indenyl ring increasing from 4.1 degrees in 1(2+) to 21.7 degrees in 1. Cyclic voltammetry and bulk electrolysis were employed to define the thermodynamics and heterogeneous charge-transfer kinetics of reactions 1(2+) + e(-) <==> 1+ and 1+ + e(-) <==> 1: DeltaE1/2 = 113 mV in CH3CN and 219 mV in CH2Cl2/0.1 M [NBu4][PF6]; k(s) = 0.4 cm x s(-1) for 1(2+)/1+ couple, 1.0 cm x s(-1) for 1+/1 couple in CH3CN. ESR spectra of 1+ displayed a surprisingly large hyperfine splitting (7.4 x 10(-4) x cm(-1)) from a single 1H nucleus, and spectra of the partially deuterated indenyl analogue confirmed assignment of a(H) to the H2 proton of the indenyl ring. The related eta5 18-electron complexes [(eta5-Ind)(Cp)Mo(dppe)]2+ (2(2+)) (dppe = diphenylphosphinoethane) and (eta5-Ind)(Cp)Mo(CN)2 (3) may also be reduced in two successive one-electron steps; ESR spectra of the radicals 2+ and 3- showed a similarly large a(H2) (8.7 x 10(-4) and 6.4 x 10(-4) x cm(-1), respectively). Molecular orbital calculations (density functional theory, DFT, and extended Hückel, EH) predict metal-indenyl bonding in 1+ that is approximately midway between that of the eta5 and eta3 hapticities (e.g., Omega = 11.4 degrees ). DFT results show that the large value of a(H2) arises from polarization of the indenyl-H2 by both inner-sphere orbitals and the singly occupied molecular orbital (SOMO) of 1+. The measured ks values are consistent with only minor inner-sphere reorganizational energies being necessary for the electron-transfer reactions, showing that a full eta5/eta3 hapticity change may require only small inner-sphere reorganization energies when concomitant with a pair of stepwise one-electron-transfer processes. The indenyl ligand in 1+ is best described as donating approximately four pi-electrons to Mo by combining a traditional eta3 linkage with two "half-strength" Mo-C bonds.  相似文献

An optimized procedure for the selective dimetalation of [V(eta (6)-C 6H 6) 2] by BuLi/tmeda allowed for the isolation and characterization of [V(eta (6)-C 6H 5Li) 2].tmeda. X-ray diffraction of its thf solvate [V(eta (6)-C 6H 5Li) 2].(thf) 7 revealed an unsymmetrical, dimeric composition in the solid state, in which both subunits are connected by three bridging lithium atoms. Treatment with several element dihalides facilitated the isolation of [ n]vanadoarenophanes ( n = 1, 2) with boron and silicon in the bridging positions. In agreement with the number and covalent radii of the bridging elements, these derivatives exhibit molecular ring strain to a greater or lesser extent. The B-B bond of the [2]bora species [V(eta (6)-C 6H 5) 2B 2(NMe 2) 2] was readily cleaved by [Pt(PEt 3) 3] to afford the corresponding oxidative addition product. Subsequently, [V(eta (6)-C 6H 5) 2B 2(NMe 2) 2] was employed as a diborane(4) precursor in the diboration of 2-butyne under stoichiometric, homogeneous, and heterogeneous catalysis conditions. This transformation is facilitated by the reduction of molecular ring strain, which was confirmed by a decrease of the tilt angle alpha observed in the corresponding solid-state structures. EPR spectroscopy was used to probe the electronic structure of strained [ n]vanadoarenophanes and revealed an obvious correlation between the degree of molecular distortion and the observed hyperfine coupling constant a iso. State-of-the-art DFT calculations were able to reproduce the measured isotropic vanadium hyperfine couplings and the coupling anisotropies. The calculations confirmed the decrease of the absolute isotropic hyperfine couplings with increasing tilt angle. Closer analysis showed that this is mainly due to increased positive contributions to the spin density at the vanadium nucleus from the spin polarization of doubly occupied valence orbitals of vanadium-ligand sigma-antibonding character. The latter are destabilized and thus made more polarizable in the bent structures.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of the complexes [(eta(5)-C(5)H(4)SiMe(3))(2)Ti(C&tbd1;CSiMe(3))(2)]MX (M = Cu, X = OTf (2), SC(6)H(5) (4), SC(6)H(4)NMe(2)-2 (5), SC(6)H(4)CH(2)NMe(2)-2 (6), S-1-C(10)H(6)NMe(2)-8 (7), Cl (8), (N&tbd1;CMe)PF(6) (9); M = Ag, X = OTf (3)) are described. The reactions of 2 with the Lewis bases N&tbd1;CPh and N&tbd1;CC(H)=C(H)C&tbd1;N afford the cationic complexes {[(eta(5)-C(5)H(4)SiMe(3))(2)Ti(C&tbd1;CSiMe(3))(2)]Cu(N&tbd1;CPh)}OTf (10) and {[(eta(5)-C(5)H(4)SiMe(3))(2)Ti(C&tbd1;CSiMe(3))(2)]Cu}(2)(N&tbd1;CC(H)=C(H)C&tbd1;N)(OTf)(2) (11), respectively. The X-ray structures of 2, 3, and 6 have been determined. Crystals of 2 are monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, with a = 12.8547(7) ?, b = 21.340(2) ?, c = 18.279(1) ?, beta = 133.623(5) degrees, V= 3629.7(5) ?(3), Z = 4, and final R = 0.047 for 5531 reflections with I >/= 2.5sigma(I) and 400 variables. The silver triflate complex 3 is isostructural, but not isomorphous, with the corresponding copper complex 2, and crystals of 3 are monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, with a = 13.384(3) ?, b = 24.55(1) ?, c = 13.506(3) ?, beta = 119.21(2) degrees, V = 3873(2) ?(3), Z = 4, and final R = 0.038 for 3578 reflections with F >/= 4sigma(F) and 403 variables. Crystals of the copper arenethiolate complex 6 are triclinic, space group P&onemacr;, with a = 11.277(3) ?, b = 12.991(6) ?, c = 15.390(6) ?, alpha = 65.17(4) degrees, beta = 78.91(3) degrees, gamma = 84.78(3) degrees, V = 2008(2) ?(3), Z = 2, and final R = 0.079 for 6022 reflections and 388 variables. Complexes 2-11 all contain a monomeric bis(eta(2)-alkyne)M(eta(1)-X) unit (M = Cu, Ag) in which the group 11 metal atom is trigonally coordinated by the chelating bis(eta(2)-alkyne) entity Ti(C&tbd1;CSiMe(3))(2) and an eta(1)-bonded monoanionic ligand X. The copper arenethiolate complexes 4-7 are fluxional in solution.  相似文献

Three isostructural Cu 2Ln 2 1-D polymers [Cu 2Ln 2L 10(H 2O) 4.3H 2O] n where Ln = Gd ( 1), Er ( 2), and Y ( 3) and HL= trans-2-butenoic acid, were synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography, electron paramagnetic resonance, and magnetic measurements. Pairs of alternate Cu 2 and Ln 2 dinuclear units are combined into a linear array by a set of one covalent eta (2):eta (1):mu 2 carboxylate oxygen and two H bonds, at Cu...Ln distances of ca. 4.5 A. These units exhibit four eta (1):eta (1):mu 2 and two eta (2):eta (1):mu 2 carboxylate bridges, respectively. Magnetic measurements between 2 and 300 K, fields B 0 = mu 0 H between 0 and 9 T, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements at the X-band and room temperature are reported. The magnetic susceptibilities indicate bulk antiferromagnetic behavior of the three compounds at low temperatures. Magnetization and EPR data for 1 and 3 allowed evaluation of the exchange couplings between both Cu and Gd ions in their dinuclear units and between Cu and Gd neighbor ions in the spin chains. The data for the isolated Cu 2 units in 3 yield g || = 2.350 and g [symbol: see text] = 2.054, J Cu-Cu = -338 (3) cm (-1) for the exchange coupling [ H ex(1,2) = - J 1-2 S1 x S2], and D 0 = -0.342 (0.003) cm (-1) and E 0 = 0.003 (0.001) cm (-1) for the zero-field-splitting parameters of the triplet state arising from anisotropic spin-spin interactions. Considering tetranuclear blocks Gd-Cu-Cu-Gd in 1, with the parameters for the Cu 2 unit obtained for 3, we evaluated ferromagnetic interactions between Cu and Gd neighbors, J Cu-Gd = 13.0 (0.1) cm (-1), and between Gd ions in the Gd 2 units, J Gd-Gd = 0.25 (0.02) cm (-1), with g Gd = 1.991. The bulk antiferromagnetic behavior of 1 is a consequence of the antiferromagnetic coupling between Cu ions and of the magnitude, |J Cu-Gd|, of the Cu-Gd exchange coupling. Compound 2 displays a susceptibility peak at 15 K that may be interpreted as the combined result from antiferromagnetic couplings between Er (III) ions in Er 2 units and their coupling with the Cu 2 units.  相似文献

While, in general, decamethylzincocene, Zn(C5Me5)2, and other zincocenes, Zn(C5Me4R)2 (R = H, But, SiMe3), react with dialkyl and diaryl derivatives, ZnR'2, to give the half-sandwich compounds (eta5-C5Me4R)ZnR', under certain conditions the reactions of Zn(C5Me5)2 with ZnEt2 or ZnPh2 produce unexpectedly the dizincocene Zn2(eta5-C5Me5)2 (1) in low yields, most likely as a result of the coupling of two (eta5-C5Me5)Zn* radicals. An improved, large scale (ca. 2 g) synthesis of 1 has been achieved by reduction of equimolar mixtures of Zn(C5Me5)2 and ZnCl2 with KH in tetrahydrofuran. The analogous reduction of Zn(C5Me4R)2 (R = H, SiMe3, But) yields only decomposition products, but the isotopically labeled dimetallocene 68Zn2(eta5-C5Me5)2 and the related compound Zn2(eta5-C5Me4Et)2 (2) have been obtained by this procedure. Compound 2 has lower thermal stability than 1, but it has been unequivocally characterized by low-temperature X-ray diffraction studies. As for 1 a combination of structural characterization techniques has provided unambiguous evidence for its formulation as the Zn-Zn bonded dimer Zn2(eta5-C5Me4Et)2, with a short Zn-Zn bond of 2.295(3) A indicative of a strong Zn-Zn bonding interaction. The electronic structure and the bonding properties of 1 and those of related dizincocenes Zn2(eta5-Cp')2 have been studied by DFT methods (B3LYP level), with computed bond distances and angles for dizincocene 1 very similar to the experimental values. The Zn-Zn bond is strong (ca. 62 kcal.mol-1 for 1) and resides in the HOMO-4, that has a contribution of Zn orbitals close to 60%, consisting mostly of the Zn 4s orbitals (more than 96%).  相似文献

The reaction of [(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))ZrF(3)] and [(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))HfF(3)] with Me(3)SiOCOCF(3) yields the dinuclear complexes [{(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))ZrF(OCOCF(3))(2)}(2)] (1) and [{(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))HfF(OCOCF(3))(2)}(2)] (2), regardless of the molar ratio employed. [(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))(2)ZrF(2)] reacts with 1 and 2 equiv of Me(3)SiOCOCF(3) to form the mononuclear compounds [(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))(2)Zr(OCOCF(3))(2)] (3) and [(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))(2)ZrF(OCOCF(3))] (4), respectively. The molecular structures of 1 and 3 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis: 1, triclinic, P&onemacr;, a = 9.508(3) ?, b = 11.002(4) ?, c = 17.528(3) ?, alpha = 78.55(4), beta = 76.80(2), gamma = 87.51(2) degrees, V = 1750(1) ?(3), Z = 2, R = 0.0378; 3, monoclinic, C2/c, a = 18.553(4) ?, b = 9.110(2) ?, c = 16.323(3) ?, beta = 114.88(3) degrees, V = 2503(1) ?(3), Z = 4, R = 0.0457. Compound 1 shows bridging bidentate and chelating carboxylate ligands as well as bridging fluorine atoms. The zirconium atoms are seven coordinated and have an 18-electron configuration. X-ray studies of 3 reveal two structural components where the carboxylate ligands coordinate in a monodentate (major component) and a chelating manner (minor component).  相似文献

Treatment of the eta9,eta5-bis(indenyl)zirconium sandwich complex, (eta9-C9H5-1,3-(SiMe3)2)(eta5-C9H5-1,3-(SiMe3)2)Zr, with dialkyl ethers such as diethyl ether, CH3OR (R=Et, nBu, tBu), nBu2O, or iPr2O resulted in facile C-O bond scission furnishing an eta5,eta5-bis(indenyl)zirconium alkoxy hydride complex and free olefin. In cases where ethylene is formed, trapping by the zirconocene sandwich yields a rare example of a crystallographically characterized, base-free eta5,eta5-bis(indenyl)zirconium ethylene complex. Observation of normal, primary kinetic isotope effects in combination with rate studies and the stability of various model compounds support a mechanism involving rate-determining C-H activation to yield an eta5,eta5-bis(indenyl)zirconium alkyl hydride intermediate followed by rapid beta-alkoxide elimination. For isolable eta6,eta5-bis(indenyl)zirconium THF compounds, thermolysis at 85 degrees C also resulted in C-O bond cleavage to yield the corresponding zirconacycle. Both mechanistic and computational studies again support a pathway involving haptotropic rearrangement to eta5,eta5-bis(indenyl)zirconium intermediates that promote rate-determining C-H activation and ultimately C-O bond scission.  相似文献
