In a recent paper, Abassy et al. (J. Comput. Appl. Math. 207:137–147, 2007) proposed a modified variational iteration method (MVIM) for a special kind of nonlinear differential equations. In this paper, we consider variational iteration method (VIM) and MVIM (proposed in Abassy et al., J. Comput. Appl. Math. 207:137–147, 2007) to obtain an approximate series solution to the generalized Fisher’s equation which converges to the exact solution in the region of convergence. It is also shown that the application of VIM to the generalized Fisher’s equation leads to calculation of unneeded terms for series solution. Therefore, we use MVIM to overcome this disadvantage. Comparison of error between VIM and MVIM is made. The results show that the MVIM is more effective than the VIM.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider completely generalized nonlinear quasi-variational-like inclusions in Banach spaces and propose an Ishikawa type iterative algorithm for computing their approximate solutions by applying the new notion of Jη-proximal mapping given in [R. Ahmad, A.H. Siddiqi, Z. Khan, Proximal point algorithm for generalized multi-valued nonlinear quasi-variational-like inclusions in Banach spaces, Appl. Math. Comput. 163 (2005) 295–308]. We prove that the approximate solutions obtained by the proposed algorithm converge to the exact solution of our quasi-variational-like inclusions. The results presented in this paper extend and improve the corresponding results of [R. Ahmad, A.H. Siddiqi, Z. Khan, Proximal point algorithm for generalized multi-valued nonlinear quasi-variational-like inclusions in Banach spaces, Appl. In this paper, a differential transform method (DTM) is used to find the numerical solution of a special 12th-order boundary value problems with two point boundary conditions. The analysis is accompanied by testing differential transform method both on linear and nonlinear problems from the literature [Wazwaz AM. Approximate solutions to boundary value problems of higher-order by the modified decomposition method. Comput Math Appl 2000:40;679–91; Siddiqi SS, Ghazala Akram. Solutions of 12th order boundary value problems using non-polynomial spline technique. Appl Math Comput 2007. doi:10.1016/j.amc.2007.10.015; Siddiqi SS, Twizell EH. Spline solutions of linear 12th-order boundary value problems. J Comput Appl Math 1997;78:371–90]. Numerical experiments and comparison with existing methods are performed to demonstrate reliability and efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献

Implicit and explicit viscosity methods for finding common solutions of equilibrium and hierarchical fixed points are presented. These methods are used to solve systems of equilibrium problems and variational inequalities where the involving operators are complements of nonexpansive mappings. The results here are situated on the lines of the research of the corresponding results of Moudafi [Krasnoselski-Mann iteration for hierarchical fixed-point problems, Inverse Probl. 23 (2007), pp. 1635–1640; Weak convergence theorems for nonexpansive mappings and equilibrium problems, to appear in JNCA], Moudafi and Maingé [Towards viscosity approximations of hierarchical fixed-points problems, Fixed Point Theory Appl. In this paper, the homotopy analysis method (HAM) proposed by Liao in 1992 and the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) proposed by He in 1998 are compared through an evolution equation used as the second example in a recent paper by Ganji et al. [D.D. Ganji, H. Tari, M.B. Jooybari, Variational iteration method and homotopy perturbation method for nonlinear evolution equations. Comput. Math. Appl. 54 (2007) 1018–1027]. It is found that the HPM is a special case of the HAM when =-1. However, the HPM solution is divergent for all x and t except t=0. It is also found that the solution given by the variational iteration method (VIM) is divergent too. On the other hand, using the HAM, one obtains convergent series solutions which agree well with the exact solution. This example illustrates that it is very important to investigate the convergence of approximation series. Otherwise, one might get useless results.  相似文献

By using the generalized f-projection operator, the existence theorem of solutions for the general implicit variational inequality GIVI(T-ξ,K) is proved without assuming the monotonicity of operators in reflexive and smooth Banach space. An iterative algorithm for approximating solution of the general implicit variational inequality is suggested also, and the convergence for this iterative scheme is shown. These theorems extend the corresponding results of Wu and Huang [K.Q. Wu, N.J. Huang, Comput. Math. Appl. 54 (2007) 399–406], Wu and Huang [K.Q. Wu, N.J. Huang, Bull. Austral. Math. By using previous results of Djafari Rouhani for non-expansive sequences in Refs (Djafari Rouhani, Ergodic theorems for nonexpansive sequences in Hilbert spaces and related problems, Ph.D. Thesis, Yale University, Part I (1981), pp. 1–76; Djafari Rouhani, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 147 (1990), pp. 465–476; Djafari Rouhani, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 151 (1990), pp. 226–235), we study the existence and asymptotic behaviour of solutions to first-order as well as second-order difference equations of monotone type with periodic forcing. In the first-order case, our result extends to general maximal monotone operators, the discrete analogue of a result of Baillon and Haraux (Rat. Mech. Anal. 67 (1977), 101–109) proved for subdifferential operators. In the second-order case, our results extend among other things, previous results of Apreutesei (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 288 (2003), 833–851) to the non-homogeneous case, and show the asymptotic convergence of every bounded solution to a periodic solution.  相似文献

We study the asymptotic behaviour of the solution of a stationary quasilinear elliptic problem posed in a domain Ω(ε) of asymptotically degenerating measure, i.e. meas Ω(ε) → 0 as ε → 0, where ε is the parameter that characterizes the scale of the microstructure. We obtain the convergence of the solution and the homogenized model of the problem is constructed using the notion of convergence in domains of degenerating measure. Proofs are given using the method of local characteristics of the medium Ω(ε) associated with our problem in a variational form. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this article, we initiate a study on neutral stochastic functional evolution equations driven by jumps modulated by Markovian switching in real separable Hilbert spaces. Our goal here is to derive the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions to equations of this class under local non-Lipschitz condition proposed by Taniguchi [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340:(2009)197–208] by means of stopping time technique and Banach fixed-point theorem. The results obtained here generalize the main results from Luo and Taniguchi [Stoch. Dyn. 9:(2009)135–152] and Jiang and Shen [Comput. Math. Appl. 61:(2011)1590–1594]. Finally, an example is worked out to illustrate the obtained results.  相似文献

Based on relaxed cocoercive monotonicity, a new generalized class of nonlinear variational inequality problems is presented. Our results improve and extend the recent ones announced by [H. Y. This paper presents two new self-adaptive descent methods without line search for co-coercive structured variational inequality problems whose mapping does not have any explicit analytic form and only the functional value is available through exogenous evaluation or direct observation. The first method only needs functional values for given variables in the solution process, and can be viewed as a modification of Zhang and Han’s method (Comput. Math. Appl. 57(7):1168–1178, 2009), by adopting a self-adaptive technique to adjust parameter β k . The second method is an extension of the first one for another type of constrained variational inequality problems. The optimal step size along the descent direction improves the efficiency of the new methods. Some numerical results illustrate that the new methods are effective in practice.  相似文献

In this paper, we give the notion of M-proximal mapping, an extension of P-proximal mapping given in [X.P. Ding, F.Q. Xia, A new class of completely generalized quasi-variational inclusions in Banach spaces, J. Comput. Appl. Math. 147 (2002) 369–383], for a nonconvex, proper, lower semicontinuous and subdifferentiable functional on Banach space and prove its existence and Lipschitz continuity. Further, we consider a system of generalized implicit variational inclusions in Banach spaces and show its equivalence with a system of implicit Wiener–Hopf equations using the concept of M-proximal mappings. Using this equivalence, we propose a new iterative algorithm for the system of generalized implicit variational inclusions. Furthermore, we prove the existence of solution of the system of generalized implicit variational inclusions and discuss the convergence and stability analysis of the iterative algorithm.  相似文献

In this article, we study the fully non-stationary version of a mathematical model for tumour growth under indirect effect of inhibitor with time delay in proliferation. The quasi-stationary version has been studied by our previous work [S. Xu and Z. Feng, Analysis of a mathematical model for tumour growth under indirect effect of inhibitors with time delay in proliferation, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 374 (2011), pp. 178–186]. The existence and uniqueness of a global solution are proved and the asymptotic behaviour of the solution is studied. The results show that the dynamical behaviour of solutions of the fully non-stationary and the quasi-stationary version are similar under some conditions.  相似文献

This article gives a partial solution for the open question raised by Nguyen Thanh Hao [Tikhonov regularization algorithm for pseudomonotone variational inequalities, Acta Math. Vietnam., 31 (2006), 283–289] about uniqueness of the solution of the regularized problem VI(K,?F ?) of a pseudomonotone variational inequality VI(K,?F) for sufficiently small parameter ??>?0. It is proved that, under certain additional assumptions, the desired solution uniqueness holds for some classes of pseudoaffine variational inequalities and pseudomonotone variational inequalities.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study a new hybrid iterative method for finding a common element of the set of solutions of a mixed equilibrium problem, the set of fixed points of an infinite family of nonexpansive mappings and the set of solutions of variational inequalities for a ξ-Lipschitz continuous and relaxed (m,v)-cocoercive mappings in Hilbert spaces. Then, we prove a strong convergence theorem of the iterative sequence generated by the proposed iterative algorithm which solves some optimization problems under some suitable conditions. Our results extend and improve the recent results of Yao et al. [Y. Yao, M.A. Noor, S. Zainab and Y.C. Liou, Mixed equilibrium problems and optimization problems, J. Math. Anal. In this article, we establish some fixed-point (known also as critical point, invariant point) theorems in quasi-metric spaces. Our results unify and further extend in some regards the fixed-point theorem proposed by Dancs, S.; Hegedüs, M.; Medvegyev, P. (A general ordering and fixed-point principle in complete metric space. Acta Sci. Math. 1983;46:381–388), the results given by Khanh, P.Q., Quy D.N. (A generalized distance and enhanced Ekeland?s variational principle for vector functions. ABSTRACT

In this paper, we propose new subgradient extragradient methods for finding a solution of a strongly monotone equilibrium problem over the solution set of another monotone equilibrium problem which usually is called monotone bilevel equilibrium problem in Hilbert spaces. The first proposed algorithm is based on the subgradient extragradient method presented by Censor et al. [Censor Y, Gibali A, Reich S. The subgradient extragradient method for solving variational inequalities in Hilbert space. J Optim Theory Appl. 2011;148:318–335]. The strong convergence of the algorithm is established under monotone assumptions of the cost bifunctions with Lipschitz-type continuous conditions recently presented by Mastroeni in the auxiliary problem principle. We also present a modification of the algorithm for solving an equilibrium problem, where the constraint domain is the common solution set of another equilibrium problem and a fixed point problem. Several fundamental experiments are provided to illustrate the numerical behaviour of the algorithms and to compare with others.  相似文献

In this article, various types of approximate solutions for vector quasi-variational problems in Banach spaces are introduced. Motivated by [M.B. Lignola, J. Morgan, On convergence results for weak efficiency in vector optimization problems with equilibrium constraints, J. Optim. Theor. Appl. 133 (2007), pp. 117–121] and in line with the results obtained in optimization, game theory and scalar variational inequalities, our aim is to investigate lower convergence properties (in the sense of Painlevé–Kuratowski) for such approximate solution sets in the presence of perturbations on the data. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the lower convergence of ‘strict approximate’ solution sets but counterexamples show that, in general, the other types of solutions do not lower converge. Moreover, we prove that any exact solution to the limit problem can be obtained as the limit of a sequence of approximate solutions to the perturbed problems.  相似文献
