The problem about the distribution of the surface current density in a narrow circular strip antenna as an infinitely thin perfectly conducting ribbon folded in a circle and positioned on the surface of a dielectric cylinder is reduced to a one-dimensional integral equation (IE). A method for solving the obtained IE is proposed. Complex distributions of the azimuthal component of the surface current density over the circular conductor are presented for different values of the dielectric permittivity of the cylinder.  相似文献

We consider the problem of determining the current distribution along a loop antenna consisting of an infinitely thin perfectly conducting strip coiled into a ring. The antenna is immersed in an anisotropic plasma medium perpendicular to the external magnetic field and is excited by a given EMF. Primary attention is focused on the frequency band in which the excitation of electrostatic waves is possible. The problem is reduced to solving a system of integral equations with logarithmic and singular kernels. Using the solution of these equations, we found expressions for the antenna current distribution and input impedance. The analysis of these expressions is presented. We consider the problem of radiation of electromagnetic waves from a thin electric antenna located in a planar waveguide with perfectly conducting walls filled with an inhomogeneous dielectric. Cases where the antenna is fed by a time-harmonic e.m.f. and a bell-shaped impulse signal are analyzed. The current distribution along the antenna, its input admittance, the longitudinal component of the electric field, and the total complex power of the antenna are calculated numerically. We compare the antenna characteristics for waveguides with homogeneous and inhomogeneous filling.  相似文献

When performing optical simulations for rotationally symmetric geometries using the eigenmode expansion technique, it is necessary to place the geometry under investigation inside a cylinder with perfectly conducting walls. The parasitic reflections at the boundary of the computational domain can be suppressed by introducing a perfectly matched layer (PML) using e.g. complex coordinate stretching of the cylinder radius. However, the traditional PML suffers from an artificial field divergence limiting its usefulness. We show that the choice of a constant cylinder radius leads to mode profiles with exponentially increasing field amplitudes resulting in numerical instability. As a remedy we propose an improved PML based on a mode-dependent cylinder radius and mode profiles with stable field amplitudes. The new PML formulation eliminates the artificial field divergence and ensures numerical stability.  相似文献

The interaction between a general magnetic source and a long type-II superconducting cylinder in the Meissner or mixed state is studied within the London theory. We first study the Meissner state and solve the Maxwell–London equations when the source is a magnetic monopole located at an arbitrary position. Then the field and supercurrent for a more complicated magnetic charge distribution can be obtained by superposition. A magnetic point dipole with arbitrary direction is studied in detail. It turns out that the levitation force on the dipole contains in general an angular as well as a radial component. By integration we obtain the field and supercurrent when the source is a two-dimensional monopole (a magnetically charged long thread along the axial direction), from which the results for a two-dimensional point dipole easily follow. In the latter case the levitation force points in the radial direction regardless of the orientation of the dipole. The case for a current carrying long straight wire parallel to the cylindrical axis is solved separately. The limit of ideal Meissner state is discussed in most cases. The case of mixed state is discussed briefly. It turns out that vortex lines along the axial direction and vortex rings concentric with the cylinder have no effect outside the cylinder and the levitation forces remain the same as in the case of the Meissner state.  相似文献

提出利用超材料吸波体减缩波导缝隙阵列天线带内雷达散射截面的设计方法. 设计具有超薄(厚度仅为0.01λ, λ为吸波体中心频率对应波长)、无表面损耗层和高吸波率的超材料吸波体, 将其加载到波导缝隙天线E面方向辐射缝隙间的金属表面上, 并与辐射缝隙保持一定的间距. 该加载方式没有破坏天线的口径馈电振幅分布, 并利用超材料吸波体对电磁波的强吸收特性降低了天线阵的结构模式项散射. 仿真和实验结果表明, 加载超材料吸波体后天线阵的反射系数、增益、波瓣宽度保持不变, 在x极化和y极化条件下, 波导缝隙阵列天线的带内雷达散射截面减缩量均在6 dB 以上, 且在-25°-+25°范围内天线雷达散射截面均有明显的减缩, 鼻锥方向减缩超过10 dB. 该研究成果对阵列天线雷达散射截面减缩具有重要的借鉴意义和工程应用价值.  相似文献

Abstract

In the present work, we have numerically solved the dispersion equation of the surface wave propagating on a uniform collisional plasma column. The electric field and surface current distributions have been computed in different situations. We have investigated the effect of plasma frequency variation on the spatial distribution of the surface current. Results show that varying the electron density of the plasma column enables the plasma column to work as a plasma monopole antenna with a fixed geometrical structure and excited frequency which is able to create different radiation patterns. Our numerical analysis also shows that a little change in the radius of the plasma column has a strong influence on the current distribution at the excited frequency in RF region. This effect can be ignored in the usual (metallic) antenna while it is very important in designing of the plasma monopole antenna.  相似文献

The scattering of a three-dimensional Gaussian electromagnetic beam by a thin (compared to the wavelength) semiconducting cylinder of infinite length is considered. Expressions for the scattered field and for the current induced in the cylinder are obtained. A numerical analysis of the distribution of the secondary current along the cylinder axis was made. Within the framework of the long-line approximation, we obtain the expressions for the current distribution, input impedance, and admittance of a nonsymmetric thin electric dipole whose ends are connected to perfectly conducting walls of a plane waveguide filled by an inhomogeneous dielectric. The use of this approximation allows one to qualitatively interpret the results of rigorous solution of the problem of the effect of the medium inhomogeneity on the radiation characteristics of the antenna.  相似文献

Magnetic response of a planar dielectric ring to an axially applied time-harmonic magnetic field is analyzed. We find the self-consistent distribution of the polarization current in the ring and its magnetic moment. It is shown that the magnetic moment exhibits multiple resonances corresponding to the excitation of different eigenmodes in the ring. The properties of the fundamental eigenmode are used to analyze the performance and limitations of an equivalent LCR circuit model.  相似文献

We present an efficient numerical technique to simulate the third order Kerr effect in wavelength scale dielectric structures by expanding upon the eigenmode expansion method. A two-dimensional spatial grid models the intensity dependent refractive index. By performing an iteration of linear eigenmode calculations, this index grid converges to the rigorous continuous-wave nonlinear solution. Because the underlying eigenmode tool is bidirectional, feedback effects such as bistability can be calculated. We describe the influence of grid size, quantitative agreement with the literature and a photonic crystal switch. The differences with other methods, such as finite-difference time-domain and beam propagation method, are discussed.  相似文献

Design of a novel compact millimeter-wave microstrip antenna with wide bandwidth and broad beamwidth is presented. In the structure, multiple layers and a parasitic element as well as a coupling aperture are used to achieve wideband, while a conducting cylinder and the coupling aperture are used to obtain broad beamwidth. Finally, phased array with eight present elements has been designed as an example. Compared to traditional microstrip antennas and arrays, present antenna and array are of smaller dimension and broader beamwidth as well as wider bandwidth.  相似文献

Two shapes of antenna elements have been investigated and compared to obtain phased antenna arrays with circular polarization in the far field; a feed network providing a Chebyshev distribution of current amplitudes and uniform distribution of phases has been designed for 4 × 4 arrays; phased arrays with modified square and circular patches have been designed and compared, providing sidelobe reduction of up to ?26 dB.  相似文献

We have calculated the magnetic field distribution and the resistance of a homogeneous type II superconductor cylinder at transition under the influence of axial current in zero external magnetic field. In this calculation we have expressed the magnetic field dependence on flow resistivity f by two or more potential functions and have shown that the accuracy of this approximation is sufficient. For some values of the lower critical field and various temperatures, the magnetic field distribution and the resistance of the cylinder are calculated as a function of the applied electrical field and/or the applied current. The temperature dependence of the electric field at which, the normal state appears on the surface of the cylinder is also given.  相似文献

Using low-loss dielectric magnetic films in combination with space-resolved Brillouin light scattering spectroscopy we have studied nonlinear modification of eigenmode spatial distributions in saturated magnetic squares. We have found that, as the angle of magnetization precession increases, the eigenmode spatial distributions experience significant qualitative changes due to a nonlinear coupling between forming them standing spin waves. We show that the found nonlinear eigenmodes cannot be described by means of the linear theoretical approach even qualitatively.  相似文献

The current distribution of a center-fed dipole cylindrical antenna of arbitrary dimension immersed in unbounded lossless warm plasma is considered, taking into account the commonly neglected end-cap effect. The approximated solution of the integral equation for the current distribution is obtained with the aid of Fourier analysis, and the expression is derived for the current distribution I(z) as the function of position z along the cylindrical surface of the antenna. Sample calculations are made for a half-wavelength dipole antenna with different values of thickness parameter ?=(a/l)<0.25 and of the normalized plasma density parameter po=(?p/?)2 <1. Here a and l denote the radius and the half-length of the antenna, respectively. ?p and ? denote the plasma angular frequency and the radiation angular frequency. The variation of the amplitude and phase of the current with the position, and the variation of radiation resistance with po and ? are examined and discussed in detail.  相似文献

We consider the problem of symmetric excitation of a cylindrical microstrip antenna by two plane waves. The antenna consists of two radiating elements located symmetrically with respect to the azimuth. Each element can be either a single patch or an array of patches of rectangular-cylindrical shape. The problem is reduced to solving an integral equation by the method of moments. A new representation of the Green's function is used. In this representation, the field singularity at the source and the contribution of surface waves are given in analytical form. We give proofs for the sinusoidal nature of the current distribution over an insulated chink antenna with allowance for finite dimensions of the antenna, its feeder region, and the layer of environmental inhomogeneity. We obtain a solution to the equation for the electric potential in a locally ionized transverse magnetohydrodynamic flow past a circular cylinder in a nonuniform magnetic field produced by a linear conductor for various configurations of the ionization region. Analytical formulas are derived for the volume density of the Lorentz force acting on the flow in a locally ionized region. The effect of the Hall parameter and of the configuration of the region of the magnetohydrodynamic interaction on the Lorentz force is analyzed. It is shown that an increase in the Hall parameter leads to a decrease in the Lorentz force acting on the flow, and a change in the configuration of the locally ionized region makes it possible to suppress the effect of the Hall parameter on the Lorentz force.  相似文献

We study the cyclotron interaction of energetic electrons and whistler waves in plasma waveguides formed by inhomogeneous distribution of cold plasma. Such waveguides can be formed in the Earth's magnetosphere, e.g., by the plasmapause or by ducts with enhanced background-plasma density. In this paper, we consider a cylindrically symmetric model of a magnetospheric duct with enhanced cold-plasma density in a homogeneous magnetic field. The spatial structure of the eigenmodes of such a waveguide is found. We obtain a set of self-consistent quasilinear equations for cyclotron instability with eigenmode structure taken into account, thus generalizing the quasilinear theory of a magnetospheric cyclotron maser.  相似文献
