The finite difference method is used to obtain a solution of a nonlinear static problem for a laminated inclined rectangular shell in a plane acted on by a force load and a temperature field. We analyze the structure of the Föppl–von Kármán shell equations of linear elastic shell theory using surface geometry and classical invariant theory. This equation describes the buckling of a thin shell subjected to a compressive load. In particular, we analyze the role of polarized Hessian covariant, also known as second transvectant, in linear elastic shell theory and its connection to minimal surfaces. We show how the terms of the Föppl–von Kármán equations related to in-plane stretching can be linearized using the hodograph transform and relate this result to the integrability of the classical membrane equations. Finally, we study the effect of the nonlinear second transvectant term in the Föppl–von Kármán equations on the buckling configurations of cylinders.  相似文献

应用轴对称旋转扁壳的非线性大挠度动力学方程,研究了波纹扁壳在均布载荷作用下的非线性受迫振动问题.采用格林函数方法,将扁壳的非线性偏微分方程组化为非线性积分微分方程组.再使用展开法求出格林函数,即将格林函数展开为特征函数的级数形式,积分微分方程就成为具有退化核的形式,从而容易得到关于时间的非线性常微分方程组.针对单模态振形,得到了谐和激励作用下的幅频响应.作为算例,研究了正弦波纹扁球壳的非线性受迫振动现象.该文的解答可供波纹壳的设计参考.  相似文献

The stability of flat arches with pinned and fixed ends under a uniformly distributed load is investigated on the assumption that the material obeys a linear hardening law and the geometric relations are nonlinear. The equations obtained are solved for a sinusoidal arch with a rectangular cross section using the Bubnov-Galerikn method and the method of elastic solutions. Equations are obtained for the load and deflection at which transition from the purely elastic to the elastoplastic state occurs.Tartu State University. The state of stress of flat flexible shells with an opening is investigated with allowance for the viscoelastic properties of the material. The equilibrium equations and boundary conditions are written in finite-difference form. A nonlinear system of algebraic equations is solved by successive approximations. A method of accelerating the convergence of slowly converging iteration processes is proposed. The effect of the viscoelastic properties of the shell material on its state of stress is investigated with reference to the example of a polymethyl methacrylate shell. The variations of the ring moment and ring forces at the free edge of the shell are plotted for various moments of time, load values, and flatness parameters. It is shown that as soon as the viscosity factor begins to take effect, the state of stress and strain of the shell changes sharply; the concentration of forces and moments increases in the flexible viscoelastic (as compared with the elastic) shell.Institute of Mechanics, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, Kiev. The paper analyzes the stress-strain state in a cylindrical shell with variable rigidity in two directions. The shell is analyzed in a geometrically nonlinear framework under different loads and boundary conditions. The proposed approach reduces the nonlinear system of partial differential equations to a sequence of linear systems of ordinary differential equations. The problem of the stability of a transversely isotropic cylindrical shell subjected to axial compression is considered with the aid of three-dimensional linearized equations for small subcritical strains. Transcendental equations are obtained for the critical loads corresponding to axisymmetric and nonaxisymmetric deformation. It is shown that in the case of the axisymmetric buckling mode the Kirchhoff-Love hypothesis is asymptotically exact irrespective of the properties of the material. The dependence of the critical load on the properties of the shell material is investigated numerically. The effect of transverse shear strains on the stability "in the large" of a cylindrical transversal-isotropic shell with an elastic filler under the effect of axial compression is investigated. The length of the cylindrical shell is assumed to be greater than the diameter. The approximate solution is obtained by the Bubnov-Galerkin method. We investigate the effect of a reinforcing ring on the stress-strain state of a cylindrical shell in the geometrically nonlinear problem with a nonaxisymmetric load on the edge. The nonlinear boundary-value problem is reduced to a sequence of linear problems by the quasilinearization method. The linear problems are solved by the discrete orthogonalization method. 应用轴对称旋转扁壳的基本方程,研究了在任意载荷作用下具有型面锥度的浅波纹壳的非线性弯曲问题· 采用格林函数方法,将扁壳的非线性微分方程组化为非线性积分方程组· 再使用展开法求出格林函数,即将格林函数展成特征函数的级数形式,积分方程就成为具有退化核的形式,从而容易得到非线性代数方程组· 应用牛顿法求解非线性代数方程组时,为了保证迭代的收敛性,选取位移作为控制参数,逐步增加位移,求得相应的载荷· 在算例中,研究了具有球面度的浅波纹壳的弹性特征· 结果表明,由于型面锥度的引入,特征曲线发生显著变化,随着荷载的增加,将出现类似扁球壳的总体失稳现象· 本文的解答符合实验结果·  相似文献

A very simple variant of the geometrically nonlinear theory of anisotropic shells with allowance for the high compliance of the material in transverse shear is proposed. From this theory there follow, as a special case, the equations for an isotropic shell; these differ from the relations of [2] with respect to terms of the order of the ratio of the thickness of the shell to the radii of curvature small as compared with unity. The progressive buckling of a viscoelastic cyclindrical shell with initial imperfections in axial compression is investigated in the geometrically nonlinear formulation. As distinct from previous research, shell deformation curves in the post-critical stage (after snap-through) are obtained for various load levels. The results obtained are in agreement with the experimental data. The deformation of a layered orthotropic cylindrical shell under a local normal load is investigated on the basis of equations that do not depend on the hypothesis of straight normals. The solutions of the analogous classical problems were analyzed in [3]; a solution based on equations that take transverse shear strains approximately into account was proposed in [4]. The high degree of variability of the state of stress created by local loads indicates that it is quite important to take transverse shear strains rigorously into account in problems of this class. The problem of the limiting equilibrium of a closed cylindrical shell with evenly spaced longitudinal cuts, stated in the context of the analogy with the k-model of Leonov-Panasyuk-Dagdeil, is reduced to a system of singular integral equations. An algorithm is constructed for the numerical solution of this system. A method is developed for determining the mechanical characteristics of the layer of a shell of revolution made by winding along the geodesic lines. We apply asymptotic methods of nonlinear mechanics (the Bogolyubov–Mitropol'skii averaging method) to the construction of approximate solutions of a system of nonlinear equations describing wave processes in elastic systems with circular symmetry. The dynamic properties of a hinged shell made from a composite material and subjected to combined loads are investigated by means of an orthotropic model. The problem is solved by means of the geometrically nonlinear dynamic equations of the theory of sloping shells, set up on the basis of the Kirchhoff-Love hypothesis. Various cases of loading are considered, i.e., the combined action of a longitudinal pulsating load and an external static pressure and also of a pulsating external pressure and a static axial compression. The wave processes at the middle surface are not taken into account. The system of resolvents is obtained by consecutive application of the variation and averaging methods.
