The propagation of waves in a homogeneous isotropic micropolar elastic cylindrical plate subjected to stress free conditions is investigated. The secular equations for symmetric and skew symmetric wave mode propagation are derived. At short wave limit, the secular equations for symmetric and skew symmetric waves in a stress free circular plate reduces to Rayleigh surface wave frequency equation. Thin plate results are also obtained. The amplitudes of displacements and microrotation components are obtained and depicted graphically. Some special cases are also deduced from the present investigations. The secular equations for symmetric and skew symmetric modes are also presented graphically.  相似文献

应用势流理论,采用递推函数方法推导出一个新形式的Bousinesq方程。通过对新方程的参数设置,可以讨论出Boussinesq方程发展趋势和不同的发展形式。对浅水波动的描述方程,Boussinesq方程的发展趋势为适用水深范围的拓展。拓展应用范围的大小则由其方程频散特征向Airy波频散解逼近程度来决定。而Bousineq方程又不同于Airy波,主要原因是Boussinesq方程中含有线性频散项,Airy波则只是长波首项近似,无线性频散项。其频散特征为精确的线性频散解。对实际水波传播而言,Airy波理论的局限性是不言而喻的。  相似文献

The propagation of inhomogeneous plane waves in a compressible viscous fluid is considered. The frequency and the slowness vector are both allowed to be complex. There are seen to be two types of solutions: (a) two transverse waves, which involve no density or pressure fluctuations, (b) a longitudinal wave, which involves no fluctuations in vorticity. For each type, a propagation condition is obtained giving the (complex) squared length of the slowness vector as a function of frequency. Each depends also on the viscosities. It is seen how to recover the incompressible case as the limit in which the inviscid acoustic wave speed tends to infinity. Each wave is shown to be linearly stable for real frequencies. These waves are attenuated in space and time but nevertheless it is possible to define constant weighted mean values (over a cycle of the propagating part of the wave) of the energy density, energy flux and dissipation. The energy-dissipation equation and the propagation conditions are used to derive relationships between these constant weighted means, some of which are generalizations to compressible fluids of previously known results for incompressible fluids. Explicit expressions in terms of frequency are given for the weighted means.  相似文献

This paper presents a parametric model to study the transient bending wave propagation in a viscoelastic sandwich plate due to impact loading. The effect of partial constrained layer damping (PCLD) geometry on wave propagation is investigated by comparing with propagation in single layer elastic plate. Several boundary conditions are also considered, and their effect on wave propagation is highlighted.The equation of motion is obtained from Lagrange’s equations. For the single layer plate, the governing equation is solved in time domain using Newman and Wilson method. For the plate with PCLD, the frequency dependant viscoelastic behavior of the core is represented by Prony series; the equation of motion is converted into frequency domain using Fourier transform the displacement is obtained in the frequency domain and is converted into time domain with the Inverse Fast Fourier Transform.The model was validated in our previous paper (Khalfi and Ross (2013)) with experimental results, additional validation is carried in this paper with literature, and good agreement is recorded. The results show that the plate covered with PCLD remains a dispersive medium. The shape of the wave is mainly related to the sandwich stiffness while the viscoelastic layer contributes in reducing the amplitude and speed of propagation. The particularity of this transient model lies in its ability to follow the shape of the bending wave at all times to observe formation, propagation and disappearance. With this model, the influence of any structural input parameters on the bending wave can be studied. The findings presented will also serve as a research base for more advanced horizons.  相似文献

We investigate theoretically inertial waves inside a liquid confined between two co-rotating coaxial cylinders of finite length. We consider the case of small viscosity and high angular velocity (i.e., small Ekman numbers), a parameter range of interest for many geophysical applications. In this case, inertial waves propagating in the container show multiple reflections at the walls before the waves can be damped by weak diffusion. We allow for the inner cylinder wall to be parallel or inclined with respect to the annulus’ vector of rotation (truncated cone). For the limit of zero viscosity, the wave propagation is governed by a boundary value problem that is composed of a linear second-order hyperbolic partial differential equation and the impermeability boundary conditions. For the special case of vertical cylinder walls (no inclination of the inner cylinder), this boundary value problem is separable, the corresponding eigenmodes can analytically be found and they are regular. However, when the inner cylinder wall is inclined, the hyperbolicity of the governing equation leads to internal shear layers (corresponding to singularities for the inviscid case). The geometrical structure of the shear layers can be explained by inertial waves, trapped on limit cycles denoted as wave attractors. The shape of the limit cycles depends on the wave frequency. In fact, the spectrum of regular modes, existing for the case of vertical cylinder walls, vanishes almost completely when the inner wall is inclined. Instead of a spectrum of discrete frequencies and regular eigenmodes, a spectrum of wave attractor frequency bands and singular eigenmodes exist. The question addressed here is whether the spectrum of wave attractor intervals collapses to the discrete frequency spectrum when the inclination angle of the inner cylinder goes to zero. To answer this question, the attractor frequency intervals are evaluated numerically for a series of decreasing cylinder inclination angles and are compared with the analytically found eigenspectrum for the case of zero inclination. Goal is to better understand the asymptotic behavior of the problem for decreasing inclination angles. This understanding helps to interpret results from laboratory experiments with geometries that differ from the perfect annulus with parallel cylinder walls.  相似文献

缆索结构被广泛应用于电气、土木、海洋和航空工程等领域,随着缆索在工程中的应用长度越来越长,高阶振动越来越明显,研究时应该考虑扰动沿着缆索的传播.现有对缆索弹性波传播的研究中,通常不考虑阻尼项,然而阻尼对于波的传播有着重要影响.文章考虑阻尼的影响,发展了包含阻尼项的三维弹性缆索运动方程.通过求解上述含阻尼项的运动方程,分别考察了面内面外弹性波的频率关系、相速度和群速度等自由传播特性,进而通过计算无限长弹性缆索在初始余弦型脉冲作用下的位移响应,分析扰动沿着该缆索的传播规律,考察波的色散现象以及阻尼对于缆索弹性波传播的影响.结果表明,考虑阻尼后,面内波和面外波均为色散波,面内波在曲率的作用下,为高度色散波.此外,在阻尼的影响下,波的峰值在传播过程不断减小,且波的后缘端点响应总是高于前缘端点响应.  相似文献

针对时间尺度为1~100 s的爆炸冲击加载,忽略低频Maxwell体的松弛效应,同时为简化分析,忽略非线性弹簧效应项,推导了三维应力状态下的线黏弹性ZWT本构关系。基于球面波的基本动力学方程,结合ZWT线黏弹性本构关系,得到了以位移u表征的三阶波动方程。利用该方程分析固体介质中线黏弹性球面波传播过程中的吸收和弥散现象,得知:高频球面波的衰减因子趋于常数,相速趋于高频下的纵波速度;低频球面波的衰减因子和圆频率的平方成正比,其相速趋于低频下的纵波速度;低频球面波的纵波波速低于高频球面波的纵波波速,两者的比值和介质的泊松比、弹性模量及Maxwell体弹性模量相关。  相似文献

From ultrasonic inspections of heterogeneous materials the ultrasonic velocity in a test specimen and the ultrasonic reflection and transmission coefficients can be found over a certain range of frequencies. This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the frequency dependence of the reflection and transmission coefficients caused by random fluctuations of the material parameters.The procedure of using the effective frequency-dependent material parameters of an unbounded random medium to determine the wave propagation in a bounded random medium is not applicable at a distance of the boundary of the order of a correlation length. From this interface effect a contribution to the frequency dependence of the reflection and transmission coefficients arises.A previous consideration assuming the correlation length of the fluctuations to be small compared with the wavelength, is extended to shorter waves. Moreover, the wave propagation in a random half-space whose average material parameter differs from that of the exterior is considered. The consequences of the fluctuations of the elastic constants are of special interest, because they do not go with ω2 in the governing wave equation as the density does.The interface effect is also discussed in the static limit of ‘homogeneous deformation’.  相似文献

This paper presents the wave propagation in a cylinder coated with a thin piezoelectric layer. The piezoelectric coupling effects are fully modeled in the mechanics model for this piezoelectric coupled cylindrical shell with bending resistance. The decoupled torsional wave velocity and the dispersion curves for the two- mode shell model are obtained theoretically. The cut-off frequency and phase velocities at limit wave number are also derived. The numerical simulations are conducted to present the results of wave propagation in this cylindrical shell and as well as to compare the results by the current bending theory and the membrane shell theory. From the comparisons, the results display obvious deference of wave propagations in terms of dispersion characteristics by different shell theories when thicker piezoelectric layer are used and when higher wave number is considered. The results of this paper can serve as a reference for future study on wave propagation in coupled structures as well as in the design of smart structures incorporating piezoelectric materials.  相似文献

本文研究了兰姆波传播的解析模型。薄压电传感器(PZT)被用于兰姆波的激发。为模拟PZT的激励,采用PZT边缘的分布式点源近似等效PZT的激励,建立了解析模型的边界条件。结合傅里叶变换,在频率波数域求解了三维波动方程,得到了在单位周期激励下兰姆波的频域响应。结合传递函数法,可以得到任意激励下兰姆波的频域响应。利用傅里叶逆变换,进一步求解了兰姆波在时间-空间域的全局波场。为了验证解析模型,将解析模拟与实验进行了比对。试验测量值与解析模拟结果相吻合。  相似文献

本文研究了空气耦合层状复合材料的声传播。从基本波动方程出发,由气固边界条件,利用势函数法求解声波任意角入射层状复合材料的声传播,并通过数值计算得到其透声系数幅度和相位随频率变化的规律。基于MATLAB建立了测量任一入射角透声系数的实验平台,并对复合材料试样进行了实验,得到的透声系数幅度与理论计算结果吻合,说明了所建立的声传播理论和实验检测方法的有效性。  相似文献

The geometric optics approximation to high frequency anisotropic wave propagation reduces the anisotropic wave equation to a static Hamilton–Jacobi equation. This equation is known as the anisotropic eikonal equation and has three different coupled wave modes as solutions. We introduce here a level set-based Eulerian approach that captures all three of these wave propagations. In particular, our method is able to accurately reproduce the quasi-transverse, or quasi-S, waves with cusps, which form a class of multi-valued solutions. The level set formulation we use is borrowed from one for moving curves in three spatial dimensions, with the velocity fields for evolution following from the method of characteristics on the anisotropic eikonal equation. We present here our derivation of the algorithm and numerical results to illustrate its accuracy in different cases of anisotropic wave propagations related to seismic imaging.  相似文献

The Lamb wave propagation in elastic isotropic and orthotropic layers is studied by numerical and analytic methods. An analytic solution is obtained by using the Cauchy formalism for the entire frequency range. Numerical solutions are obtained in a neighborhood of the second limit velocity corresponding to very small frequencies. The wave propagation analysis in corrugated waveguides is considered in this paper. Elastic wave propagation in a two-dimensional periodically corrugated plate is studied here analytically. The dispersion equation is obtained by applying the traction free boundary conditions. Solution of the dispersion equation gives both symmetric and anti-symmetric modes. In a periodically corrugated waveguide all possible spectral order of wave numbers are considered for the analytical solution. It has been observed that the truncation of the spectral order influences the results. Truncation number depends on the degree of corrugation and the frequency of the wave. Usually increasing frequency requires increasing number of terms in the series solution, or in other words, a higher truncation number. For different degrees of corrugation the Rayleigh–Lamb symmetric and anti-symmetric modes are investigated for their non-propagating ‘stop bands’ and propagating ‘pass bands’. To generate the dispersion equation for corrugated plates with a wide range of the degree of corrugation, appropriate truncation of the spectral orders has to be considered. Analytical results are given for three different degrees of corrugation in three plates. Resonance of symmetric and anti-symmetric modes in these plates, their ‘cut-off’, ‘cut-on’, ‘branch-point’, ‘change-place’, ‘mode conversion’ and ‘pinch points’ at various frequencies are also studied.  相似文献

The effect of elastic nonlinearity on the propagation of Rayleigh waves in an anisotropic elastic solid is considered. A nonlinear integro-differential equation is derived for a quantity which is related to the Fourier transform of the displacement component on the surface. The variation of this quantity along the surface accounts for the slow modulation of the wave through formation and depletion of the different harmonics. Explicit results are given for harmonic generation in an initially sinusoidal wave and for parametric amplification of a weak signal by a pump wave of twice its frequency.  相似文献

The present paper framed to study the impact of heterogeneity on propagation of Love wave in a heterogeneous micropolar layer over an elastic inhomogeneous stratum, when both rigidity and density are assumed to vary linearly with depth. The equations of motion have been formulated separately for layer and half-space under suitable boundary conditions. Analytical solution for the dispersion equation has been obtained using method of separation of variables by means of the Airy function and Whittaker function. Some particular cases have also been investigated. Further, as a special case the velocity equation for isotropic layer over a homogeneous half-space coincides with the standard result of Love wave. Numerical calculations of frequency relation have been performed and depicted by means of graphs to exhibit the substantial impact of heterogeneity, micropolar parameters and wave number on the phase velocity of Love wave. The wave velocity is strongly influenced by these parameters.  相似文献
