Employing Bak's dimension theory, we investigate the nonstable quadratic K-group K 1,2n (A, ) = G 2n (A, )/E 2n (A, ), n 3, where G 2n (A, ) denotes the general quadratic group of rank n over a form ring (A, ) and E 2n (A, ) its elementary subgroup. Considering form rings as a category with dimension in the sense of Bak, we obtain a dimension filtration G 2n (A, ) G 2n 0(A, ) ; G 2n 1(A, ) ... E 2n (A, ) of the general quadratic group G 2n (A, ) such that G 2n (A, )/G 2n 0(A, ) is Abelian, G 2n 0(A, ) G 2n 1(A, ) ... is a descending central series, and G 2n d(A)(A, ) = E 2n (A, ) whenever d(A) = (Bass–Serre dimension of A) is finite. In particular K 1,2n (A, ) is solvable when d(A) < .  相似文献

LetA(·) be ann × n symmetric affine matrix-valued function of a parameteruR m , and let (u) be the greatest eigenvalue ofA(u). Recently, there has been interest in calculating (u), the subdifferential of atu, which is useful for both the construction of efficient algorithms for the minimization of (u) and the sensitivity analysis of (u), namely, the perturbation theory of (u). In this paper, more generally, we investigate the Legendre-Fenchel conjugate function of (·) and the -subdifferential (u) of atu. Then, we discuss relations between the set (u) and some perturbation bounds for (u).The author is deeply indebted to Professor J. B. Let be the uniform triangulation generated by the usual three-directional mesh of the plane and let 1 be the unit square consisting of two triangles of . We study the space of piecewise polynomial functions in C k (R 2) with support 1 having a sufficiently high degree n, which are symmetrical with respect to the first diagonal of 1. Such splines are called 1-splines. We first compute the dimension of this space in function of n and k. Then, for any fixed k0, we prove the existence of 1-splines of class C k and minimal degree. These splines are not unique. Finally, we describe an algorithm computing the Bernstein–Bézier coefficients of these splines, and we give an example.  相似文献

The small ball constant is explicitly computed when p > 1, and a lower bound on is easily obtained in the general case. In the symmetric case and when p > 2, we can also give an upper bound on in terms of the Brownian small ball constant under the (1/p)-Höder semi-norm. In this paper we study the positive resolvent values of positive operators respectively of positive elements in Banach lattice ordered algebras. In the matrix case these values are just the inverse M-matrices. One of the main results is the following: Let A be a Banach lattice ordered algebra. The non-commutative torus C *(n,) is realized as the C*-algebra of sections of a locally trivial C*-algebra bundle over S with fibres isomorphic to C *n/S, 1) for a totally skew multiplier 1 on n/S. D. Poguntke [9] proved that A is stably isomorphic to C(S) C(*( Zn/S, 1) C(S) A Mkl( C) for a simple non-commutative torus A and an integer kl. We study the first positive eigenvalue (p) 1(g) of the Laplacian on p-forms for a connected oriented closed Riemannianmanifold (M, g) of dimension m. We show that for 2 p m – 2 a connected oriented closed manifold M admits three metrics g i (i = 1, 2, 3) such that (p) 1(g 1)> (0) 1(g 1),(p) 1(g 2) < (0) 1(g 2) and(p) 1(g 3)= (0) 1(g 3).Furthermore, if (M, g) admits a nontrivial parallel p-form,then (p) 1 (0) 1 always holds.  相似文献

Let M be a Kähler manifold with Ricci and antiholomorphic Ricci curvature bounded from below. Let be a domain in M with some bounds on the mean and JN-mean curvatures of its boundary . The main result of this paper is a comparison theorem between the Mean Exit Time function defined on and the Mean Exit Time from a geodesic ball of the complex projective space n () which involves a characterization of the geodesic balls among the domain . The graphG isk-cyclable if anyk vertices ofG lie on a common cycle. A previous result of the author is that if k 2, G isk-connected and every connected subgraphH ofG of order has at leastn +k 2 + 1/k + 1 – vertices outsideH adjacent to at least one vertex ofH, thenG contains aD -cycle. Here it is conjectured that k-connected can be replaced by k-cyclable, and this is proved fork = 3. As a consequence it is shown that ifn 4 – 6, or ifG is triangle-free andn 8 – 10, thenG contains aD 3-cycle orG , where denotes a well-known class of nonhamiltonian graphs of connectivity 2. As an analogue of a result of Nash-Williams it follows that ifn 4 – 6 and – 1, thenG is hamiltonian orG . The results are all best possible and compare favorably with recent results on hamiltonicity of graphs which are close to claw-free.  相似文献

We study (s, k, 1, 2)-translation divisible designs with 10 in the singular and semi-regular case. Precisely, we describe singular (s, k, 1, 2)-TDD's by quasi-partitions of suitable quotient groups or subgroups of their translation groups. For semi-regular (s, k, 1, 2)-TDD's (and, more general, for the case 2>1) we prove that their translation groups are either Frobenius groups or p-groups of exponent p. Some examples are given for the singular, semi-regular and regular case.  相似文献
