Clean liquid phase solvent‐free oxidation of alcohol to aldehyde/ketone using ZrO2 catalyst with molecular oxygen has been studied. Monoclinic phase ZrO2 has been synthesized and characterized by XRD, SEM, EDX and surface and pore size analyses. Oxidation of alcohol was carried out in a typical batch reactor at different speed of agitation (150–1200 r/min), temperature (373–413 K), catalyst loading (50–300 mg) and partial pressure of oxygen (12–101 kPa). These parameters influence alcohol conversion as well as selectivity. A handy touch of kinetics was given to the experimental data and apparent activation energy was calculated.  相似文献

A tandem IBX‐promoted oxidation of primary alcohol to aldehyde and opening of intermediate β,γ‐diolcarbonate aldehyde to (E)‐γ‐hydroxy‐α,β‐enal has been developed. Remarkably, the carbonate opening delivered exclusively (E)‐olefin and no over‐oxidation of γ‐hydroxy was observed. The method developed has been extended to complete the stereoselective total synthesis of both (S)‐ and (R)‐coriolides and d ‐xylo‐ and d ‐arabino‐C‐20 guggultetrols.  相似文献

AD (Alzheimer’s disease) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the cerebral accumulation of fibrillar amyloid‐beta (Aβ) aggregates. Here we present the electrochemistry of two novel sym‐triazine derivatives (TAE‐1, TAE‐2) as modulators of Aβ1–42 aggregation in vitro. Incubation studies conducted at physiological conditions demonstrated strong inhibition of β‐sheet fibril formation. Uniquely, square‐wave voltammetry indicated progressive changes in the surface‐availability of amyloid‐intercalated triazines for oxidation, mediated by competing peptide self‐assembly. Time‐resolved voltammetric analysis showed increasing anodic peak currents (≥3‐fold) and progressive shifts in redox potentials, measured over 24 h. The more potent aggregation modulator (TAE‐2) showed prolonged association during the pre‐nucleation states of Aβ.  相似文献

Summary: We have successfully constructed a redox‐responsible hydrogel system by combination of β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD), dodecyl‐modified poly(acrylic acid) [p(AA/C12)], and a redox‐responsive guest, ferrocenecarboxylic acid (FCA). In the reduced state of FCA, the ternary mixture exhibited a gel‐like behavior, whereas, in its oxidized state, the mixture exhibited a sol behavior.

The Ser, Cys, and His side chains play decisive roles in the syntheses, structures, and functions of proteins and enzymes. For our structural and biomedical investigations of β‐peptides consisting of amino acids with proteinogenic side chains, we needed to have reliable preparative access to the title compounds. The two β3‐homoamino acid derivatives were obtained by Arndt–Eistert methodology from Boc‐His(Ts)‐OH and Fmoc‐Cys(PMB)‐OH (Schemes 2–4), with the side‐chain functional groups' reactivities requiring special precautions. The β2‐homoamino acids were prepared with the help of the chiral oxazolidinone auxiliary DIOZ by diastereoselective aldol additions of suitable Ti‐enolates to formaldehyde (generated in situ from trioxane) and subsequent functional‐group manipulations. These include OH→OtBu etherification (for β2hSer; Schemes 5 and 6), OH→STrt replacement (for β2hCys; Scheme 7), and CH2OH→CH2N3→CH2NH2 transformations (for β2hHis; Schemes 9–11). Including protection/deprotection/re‐protection reactions, it takes up to ten steps to obtain the enantiomerically pure target compounds from commercial precursors. Unsuccessful approaches, pitfalls, and optimization procedures are also discussed. The final products and the intermediate compounds are fully characterized by retention times (tR), melting points, optical rotations, HPLC on chiral columns, IR, 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, elemental analyses, and (in some cases) by X‐ray crystal‐structure analysis.  相似文献

13‐cis‐β,β‐Carotene, C40H56, crystallizes with a complete molecule in the asymmetric unit, whereas 15‐cis‐β,β‐carotene, also C40H56, has twofold symmetry about an axis through the central bond of the polyene chain. The polyene methyl groups are arranged on one side of the polyene chains for each molecule and the 6‐scisβ end groups, with the cyclohexene rings in half‐chair conformations, are twisted out of the planes of the polyene chains by angles ranging from 41.37 (17) to 52.2 (4)°. The molecules in each structure pack so that the arms of one occupy the cleft of the next, and there is significant π–π stacking of the almost‐parallel polyene chains of the 15‐cis isomer, which approach at distances of 3.319 (1)–3.591 (1) Å.  相似文献

In the title compounds, C21H30O4, (I), and C23H34O4, (II), respectively, which are valuable intermediates in the synthesis of important steroid derivatives, rings A and B are cis‐(5β,10β)‐fused. The two molecules have similar conformations of rings A, B and C. The presence of the 5β,6β‐epoxide group induces a significant twist of the steroid nucleus and a strong flattening of the B ring. The different C17 substituents result in different conformations for ring D. Cohesion of the molecular packing is achieved in both compounds only by weak intermolecular interactions. The geometries of the molecules in the crystalline environment are compared with those of the free molecules as given by ab initio Roothan Hartree–Fock calculations. We show in this work that quantum mechanical ab initio methods reproduce well the details of the conformation of these molecules, including a large twist of the steroid nucleus. The calculated twist values are comparable, but are larger than the observed values, indicating a possible small effect of the crystal packing on the twist angles.  相似文献

5,15‐Dioxaporphyrin was synthesized for the first time by a nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction of a nickel bis(α,α′‐dibromodipyrrin) complex with benzaldoxime, followed by an intramolecular annulation of the α‐hydroxy‐substituted intermediate. This unprecedented molecule is a 20π‐electron antiaromatic system, in terms of Hückel's rule of aromaticity, because lone pair electrons of oxygen atoms are incorporated into the 18π‐electron conjugated system of the porphyrin. A theoretical analysis based on the gauge‐including magnetically induced current method confirmed its antiaromaticity and a dominant inner ring pathway for the ring current. The unique reactivity of 5,15‐dioxaporphyrin forming a β,β‐linked dimer upon oxidation was also revealed.  相似文献

Kinetics of oxidation of L ‐cysteine by CoIII and FeIII complexes based on α‐ and γ‐diimine Schiff base ligands were studied in aqueous solution. Pairs of trans and cis isomers of the metal complexes were used in the studies. Kinetic measurements were performed at 25 °C and constant pH and ionic strength under pseudo‐first order condition, in which the concentration of cysteine was around two orders of magnitude greater than that of the metal complex. The observed rate constant was obtained by following the change in absorbance of the reaction mixture with time at a predetermined wavelength. The overall rate constant and order of the reaction with respect to cysteine and metal complex were determined. For both metal ions studied, the oxidation rate constant for the trans isomer was higher than that for the cis isomer. This was attributed to the contribution of the steric factor and the trans effect. The effects of substituents and the nature of the metal ion on the reaction rate are discussed.  相似文献

The title compounds were prepared from valine‐derived N‐acylated oxazolidin‐2‐ones, 1 – 3, 7, 9 , by highly diastereoselective (≥ 90%) Mannich reaction (→ 4 – 6 ; Scheme 1) or aldol addition (→ 8 and 10 ; Scheme 2) of the corresponding Ti‐ or B‐enolates as the key step. The superiority of the ‘5,5‐diphenyl‐4‐isopropyl‐1,3‐oxazolidin‐2‐one’ (DIOZ) was demonstrated, once more, in these reactions and in subsequent transformations leading to various t‐Bu‐, Boc‐, Fmoc‐, and Cbz‐protected β2‐homoamino acid derivatives 11 – 23 (Schemes 3–6). The use of ω‐bromo‐acyl‐oxazolidinones 1 – 3 as starting materials turned out to open access to a variety of enantiomerically pure trifunctional and cyclic carboxylic‐acid derivatives.  相似文献

A concise protocol for the synthesis of α‐methylene‐β‐hydroxy‐γ‐carboxy‐γ‐lactams has been described via alkylation of amino acid derived iminoesters with α‐bromomethylmethacrylate, followed by allylic hydroxylation. This paper reports on the kinetics of extraction of ketoconazole enantiomers in a Lewis cell, which accompanies by an inclusion reaction. The mass transfer model of the extraction process is established based on the homogeneous reaction mechanism and two‐film theory. Factors such as stirring speed, phase contact area, and ketoconazole concentration are separately investigated. The obtained data show the inclusion reaction is a fast reaction. The reactions have been found to be first order for ketoconazole enantiomers and second order for hydroxypropyl‐β‐cyclodextrin with forward rate constants of 1.716 × 10−3 m6/(mol2·s) for (−)‐ketoconazole and 2.067 × 10−3 m6/(mol2·s) for (+)‐ketoconazole.  相似文献

A meso–meso β‐β β‐β triply linked subporphyrin dimer 6 was synthesized by stepwise reductive elimination of β‐to‐β doubly PtII‐bridged subporphyrin dimer 9 . Dimer 6 was characterized by spectroscopic and electrochemical measurements, theoretical calculations, and picosecond time‐resolved transient absorption spectroscopy. X‐ray diffraction analysis reveals that 6 has a bowl‐shaped structure with a positive Gaussian curvature. Despite the curved structure, 6 exhibits a remarkably red‐shifted absorption band at 942 nm and a small electrochemical HOMO–LUMO gap (1.35 eV), indicating an effectively conjugated π‐electronic network.  相似文献

The β‐sitosterol imprinted polymer was prepared for selective extraction and analysis of β‐sitosterol from Oldenlandia diffusa (O. diffusa) followed by HPLC with UV detection. The imprinted polymers show high affinity and selectivity to β‐sitosterol. Using this molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) cartridge as solid‐phase extraction (SPE) material, the interferences could be quickly washed out and β‐sitosterol was selectively retained and enriched. HPLC analysis method was used to evaluate the characteristics of this MIP material. At the condition of mobile phase composed of MeOH/H2O/H3PO4 (99/1/0.1, V/V/V, pH=6.0) and the flow rate of 1.0 mL·min?1, a good linear relationship was demonstrated when the concentrations of β‐sitosterol were in the range of 0.50–100.0 µg·mL?1. The recoveries ranged from 75.3% to 86.5% and the inter‐day and intra‐day relative standard deviations were less than 5%. This developed HPLC method was proved to be acceptable for extraction of β‐sitosterol from O. diffusa.  相似文献
