Two analogous classes of dendrimers with a single azobenzene moiety at the core have been prepared. Flexible benzyl aryl ether dendrimers 1a-e were obtained in good yields by direct alkylation of diphenolic azobenzene 3 with benzyl aryl ether dendrons [G-n]-Br (n = 0-4). In rigid dendrimers 2a-e, the azobenzene configurational switch was linked to phenylacetylene dendrons through acetylenic linkages to maintain the shape-persistent nature of these dendrimers. A comparison of these two different classes of dendrimers with azobenzene cores reveals a difference in the properties of the photochromic moiety upon dendritic incorporation as well as a significant difference in the photomodulation of dendrimer properties. The E --> Z photoisomerization quantum yield decreased markedly with increasing generation for dendrimers 1a-e but only slightly for dendrimers 2a-e. However, increasing generation did not significantly alter thermal isomerization kinetics or activation barriers. The hydrodynamic volumes of azobenzene-containing dendrimers 2b-e were significantly modulated when the azobenzene unit is subjected to irradiation, while those of dendrimers 1b-e were only slightly affected.  相似文献

A series of dendrons and dendrimers skeleton-constructed with azobenzene moiety were synthesized and doped in a high Tg polycarbonate (PC) as a host for nonlinear optical (NLO) materials. The optimal loading density and poling conditions were investigated using UV-vis spectral and second-harmonic generation (SHG) measurements. The results showed that the dendrons and dendrimers have good solubility in PC host, which increased with the generation increased. Moreover, the SHG measurements indicated that the dendrons possess higher nonlinearity than the dendrimers. The chromophores of lower generation dendrons were easier to orient along the poling electric field and gave a cone shape with the azobenzene branching units, which coherently contributed to the molecular hyperpolarizability and resulted in the higher SHG intensity. The temporal stability of the dendrons with 15% loading density was also investigated, and showed that the decaying in nonlinearity was slower for higher generation dendrons.  相似文献

Dansyl moiety attached to the core of Newkome-type dendrimers shows a bathochromic shift of the fluorescence emission spectrum with increase in dendrimer generation. However the ET(30) plots in different solvents show a decrease in slope with increasing generation. This has been explained in terms of modification of transition energies and progressive shielding of the fluorophore with increasing generation.  相似文献

The multiple application of reductive amination on primary amino groups of first and second generation poly(propyleneimine) dendrimers is used as a one-pot approach to introduce twice the amount of the oligosaccharide units as surface groups, compared to initially present amino groups in the first and second generation dendrimers. This was proven by (1)H NMR, MALDI-TOF-MS, and LILBID-MS analysis. The size of these dendrimers was determined by the hydrodynamic radius using pulsed field gradient NMR and dynamic light scattering. Molecular modeling confirmed the presence of dense-shell dendrimers. These dendrimers exhibit a generation dependent Cu(II)/dendrimer ratio in an aqueous environment, highlighting these materials as possible metal-carrier systems with a well-defined oligosaccharide protection shell for application in a biological environment.  相似文献

A new class of semi-flexible dendrimers with oligothiophene (OT) arms up to the third generation have been synthesized and investigated. The synthetic methods employed include a combination of palladium-catalyzed Stille cross-coupling reactions for oligothiophenes, Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions for building blocks, and carbodiimide-mediated esterification for building up the various dendrimers. The optical and electrochemical properties of this series of oligothiophenes-based dendrimers are shown to be strongly influenced by their morphologies as demonstrated by their pronounced solvatochromic and thermochromic responses under different environmental conditions. Introducing rigid oligothiophene arms to shape non-persistent ester-linked dendrimers causes higher generation dendrimers (G2 and G3) to exhibit solvatochromism and thermochromism, while their oligomeric counterpart (3b) and lower generation (G1) analogue do not. Spectroscopic changes due to both intramolecular and intermolecular aggregations are observed.  相似文献

Three new series of phosphorus-containing dendrimers are described. Their solubility depends on the type of end groups they bear. Perfluoroalkyl chains give dendrimers soluble in chlorofluorocarbons, whereas guanidinium and pyridinium derivatives give water-soluble compounds. The thermal stability of these compounds, as well as of 19 other dendrimers of various generations, having various cores, or various end groups, or branching points is studied. The main feature of this study is that the internal structure of these dendrimers is thermally stable at least up to 376°C. The number of the generation has practically no influence, whereas the principal criterion influencing the thermal stability is the type of end groups. The water-soluble cationic dendrimers are the least stable, but even those are stable up to 225°C. For most of these dendrimers, an important percentage of mass (around 50%) is retained even at a temperature as high as 1000°C. In the best case, up to 70% of the initial mass is retained at 1000°C.  相似文献

Here, we investigate the effect of the structure (generation) and nature of the surface groups of different polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers on electron-mediated dissociation, either electron capture dissociation (ECD) or electron detachment dissociation (EDD), and compare the fragmentation with that observed in collision-induced dissociation (CID). ECD and EDD of the PAMAM dendrimers resulted in simple mass spectra, which are straightforward to interpret, whereas CID produced complex mass spectra. The results show that electron-mediated dissociation (ECD and EDD) of PAMAM dendrimers does not depend on the nature of the surface group but tends to occur within the innermost generations. CID of the PAMAM dendrimers showed a strong dependence on the nature of the surface group and occurred mostly in the outer generation. The results demonstrate the potential utility of ECD and EDD as a tool for the structural analysis of PAMAM dendrimers.  相似文献

An inexpensive and highly efficient synthesis of first example of fluorescent aromatic dendrimers having alternative ether and urea linkages without the need for protection and deprotection steps has been developed. Dendrons and dendrimers up to third generation, with amine end‐groups, were prepared by convergent growth approach in high yield. A repetitive synthetic sequence of nucleophilic addition reaction between amine and regenerated isocyanate and reduction of nitro groups into amine are adopted for the synthesis of these dendrimers. The peripheries of the dendrimers contained 6, 12, and 24 amino groups, for the first, second, and third generation, respectively. Materials were characterized by FTIR, NMR, and MALDI‐TOF MS spectrometry. These dendrimers were soluble in amide solvents, THF and acetone and displayed fluorescence maxima in the 440–500 nm range with relatively narrow peak widths indicating that they had pure and intense fluorescence. These dendrimers form charge‐transfer (CT) complexes with electron acceptor molecules such as 7,7,8,8,‐tetracyano‐quino‐dimethane and 1,1,2,2 tetracyanoethane as evidenced by UV‐visible absorption spectra. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two series of carbosilane LC dendrimers with terminal protonated and deuterated butoxyphenylbenzoate mesogenic groups linked to carbosilane dendritic matrices of the first to fifth generations via an undecylene spacer have been synthesized. The chemical structure of new dendrimers has been studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy and gel-permeation chromatography. The dendrimers of first-fourth generations are characterized by formation of the smectic C mesophase in a wide temperature range, whereas much more complex columnar supramolecular structures are formed in dendrimers of the fifth generation. Structural studied of mesophases by X-ray diffraction and small-angle neutron scattering show that segregation takes place in mixtures of deuterated and protonated LC dendrimers; as a result, huge aggregates composed of hundreds of chemically unbound molecules develop and the sizes of these aggregates reversibly change with temperature.  相似文献

采用密度泛函(DFT)和含时-密度泛函(TD-DFT)方法研究二苯胺基团对一类Pt(Ⅱ)配合物(M1~M3)光学性质的调控。通过与实验合成的分子对比,揭示苯胺基团取代位置和数量对电子结构和光学性质的调控规律。引入苯胺基团可有效地增大金属和配体的π共轭性。逐渐增多苯胺基团导致M3分子可以有效地增大吸收光谱的强度和金属到配体的电荷转移(MLCT)占比有利于金属对光的吸收和自旋轨道耦合。M1~M3的发射峰在602~630 nm,发射光谱归属为3MLCT和配体之间的电荷转移(3LLCT)。通过对非辐射跃迁过程,即T1(3MLCT)→TS→金属中心三重态3MC(d-d)的研究,发现当二苯胺取代基团引入位置可以有效地增大分子内空间位阻时,形成S0和T1的系间交叉MECP能量变得更高,从而抑制了非辐射的概率,有利于发光性能提高。  相似文献

We have synthesized conjugated dendrimer with triazine peripheries, and their luminescence properties were investigated. The dendrimers consist of dendritic triazine wedges for electron transport, distyrylbenzene core as an emitting moiety, and t‐butyl peripheral groups for good processing properties. The dendrimers have LUMO values of about ?2.7 eV possibly because of the triazine moiety with high electron affinity. Photoluminescence study indicates that energy transfer occurs from the triazine wedges to the stilbene bridge, and finally to the core chromophore units due to a cascade decrease of bandgap from the peripheral wedge to core moiety. Therefore, the emission wavelength was determined by the structure of the core unit. The energy transfer efficiency of distyrylbenzene‐cored dendrimers was about 75 and 55% for Trz‐1GD‐DSB and Trz‐2GD‐DSB, respectively. Two series of phosphorus dendrimers functionalized by maleimide derivatives are synthesized, as well as three new monomeric maleimide derivatives, of which two are characterized by X-ray diffraction. The first series of phosphorus dendrimers possesses maleimide derivatives as end groups (6-48, from generation 0 to generation 3). The second series of dendrimers possesses a single copy of the same maleimide derivative linked "off-center" to a cyclotriphosphazene core, leading to dissymmetrical dendrimers; this series is synthesized from generation 0 to generation 2. The fluorescence properties of both series of dendrimers and of monomers are studied, affording new information. First, the presence of labile hydrogen extinguishes the fluorescence. Second, the grafting of the fluorophore(s) directly to the core affords highly fluorescent compounds. Finally, an original influence of the branches possessing phosphorhydrazone linkages toward the fluorescence properties is shown.  相似文献

Three derivatives of poly(allylcarbosilane) dendrimers of the fifth generation with different terminal groups are synthesized. The influence of terminal groups on the properties of the dendrimers in bulk and solution is investigated by viscometry, precision adiabatic vacuum and differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic light scattering, and atomic force microscopy. It is shown that the surface layers of the dendrimers substantially affect their properties and behavior. The existence of the second relaxation transition and its dependence on the nature and structure of terminal groups are established. The experimental data indirectly confirm the assumed formation of intermolecular entanglement networks for higher generation dendrimers.  相似文献

The stepwise assembly of Fréchet-type dendrimers with naphthalene peripheral groups and positively charged viologen-like cores on quartz and ITO surfaces utilizing the layer-by-layer approach was investigated. We were able to deposit only the (+6) charged dendrimers series on ITO. The number of assembled dendrimers was found to increase as we go to higher-generation dendrimers. This dendrimer generation effect was evident from the UV-vis and electrochemical measurements of the assembled dendrimers. The half-wave potentials (E1/2) of the dendrimers shift to less negative values as the dendrimer generation increases in acetonitrile and to more negative values when assembled on ITO. Anodic photocurrent generation was seen upon light irradiation of the second- and third-generation dendrimers, NB1V3+6 and NB2V3+6, assembled on ITO but not for the zero-generation one, NV3+6. This observation was attributed to a fast charge recombination process in NV3+6 when compared to that of NB1V3+6 and NB2V3+6 dendrimers.  相似文献

The design, synthesis, and mesomorphic properties of a new series of homodendrimers consisting of the commercially available poly(propylene imine) (PPI) dendrimers (G = 1-5), PPI-(NH(2))(n)() (n = 4, 8, 16, 32, 64), functionalized with a discotic triphenylene moiety are reported. The liquid crystalline behavior was investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarizing-light optical microscopy (POM), and X-ray diffractometry (XRD). All of the homodendrimers showed mesomorphic properties, with the second to fifth generations giving a hexagonal columnar mesophase (Col(h)) and the first generation a rectangular columnar mesophase (Col(r)). The X-ray study reveals that these mesophases show a highly ordered structure with segregation of triphenylenes and dendrimers into separate columns and a regular stacking distance inside the triphenylene columns. GPC analysis showed that the dendrimers had good monodispersity and MALDI-TOF studies of the first three generations gave good evidence that all of the terminal amino groups of the dendrimers were functionalized with a discotic unit.  相似文献

Pyridine, pyridine imine, and bipyridine imine ligands functionalized by a phenol have been synthesized and characterized, in many cases by X-ray diffraction. Several of these N-, N,N-, and N,N,N,-ligands have been grafted onto the surface of phosphorhydrazone dendrimers, from generation 1 to generation 3. The complexation ability of these monomers and dendrimers towards palladium(II) has been assayed. The corresponding complexes have been either isolated or prepared in situ. In both cases, the monomeric and dendritic complexes have been tested as catalysts in Heck couplings and in Sonogashira couplings. In some cases, a positive dendritic effect has been observed, that is, an increase of the catalytic efficiency proportional to the dendrimer generation.  相似文献

A straightforward methodology for the synthesis of multifunctionalized dendrimers that is based on an orthogonal functionalization strategy has been developed. Polyamide-based dendrimers that possess both a single aldehyde and a single azide moiety on their periphery have been synthesized by using a convergent synthetic strategy. These dendrimers can be functionalized quantitatively with small organic and biological molecules that contain hydrazide and/or alkyne groups in which each functional moiety is completely specific for its complementary motif. This orthogonal functionalization strategy has the potential to be used to synthesize multifunctional dendrimers for a variety of applications, which range from targeted biological delivery vehicles to optical materials.  相似文献

Two new conjugated dendrimers bearing a tetraphenylethylene moiety as dendrons and triphenylamine as a core have been synthesized through a convergent synthetic strategy using threefold Heck/threefold Sonogashira coupling reaction.
