许多非线性动力系统都有某种对称性,在不同情形下可有不同的表现形式,但始终保持其对称的特点.不同对称形式间的转变导致对称破缺分岔或激变.关于非线性动力系统中相空间运动轨道的对称破缺分岔,已有大量研究工作,但绝大多数是指周期或拟周期相轨的对称破缺,偶尔提到对称系统中的混沌相轨也存在“对偶性”.最近,在简谐外激Duffing系统周期轨道对称破缺引发鞍-结分岔的研究中,得到了分岔后由Poincaré映射点间断流构成的图像,其中包括两个稳定周期结点、一个周期鞍点,及其稳定流形与不稳定流形,均较规则.本工作研究了正弦 关键词: 对称破缺 混沌 激变 分形吸引域  相似文献

由一个正弦映射和一个三次方映射通过非线性耦合,构成一个新的二维正弦离散映射. 基于此二维正弦离散映射得到系统的不动点以及相应的特征值,分析了系统的稳定性,研究了系统的复杂非线性动力学行为及其吸引子的演变过程. 研究结果表明:此二维正弦离散映射中存在复杂的对称性破缺分岔、Hopf分岔、倍周期分岔和周期振荡快慢效应等非线性物理现象. 进一步根据控制变量变化时系统的分岔图、Lyapunov指数图和相轨迹图分析了系统的分岔模式共存、快慢周期振荡及其吸引子的演变过程,通过数值仿真验证了理论分析的正确性. 关键词: 正弦离散映射 对称性破缺分岔 Hopf分岔 吸引子  相似文献

The effect of noise on the period of the van der Pol oscillator forced by a sinusoidal signal is analyzed in detail. The dynamics of the forced nonlinear oscillator with noise is described by the evolution of probability densities by a Markov operator. The oscillator shows a 1 : 1 phase-locked oscillation whose period is equal to the period of the sinusoidal forcing when the forcing is sufficiently strong. Noise modulates the oscillator's period as expected, but we show that this modulation is not uniform; the period of the oscillator changes drastically at a certain strength of noise. Thus this noise-induced breakdown of the phase locking can be considered as a stochastic bifurcation. The breakdown of stochastic phase-locking or the stochastic bifurcation is also analyzed from the viewpoint of the spectra of the Markov operator.  相似文献

The phenomenon of prebifurcational noise increase in nonlinear systems in the process of period-doubling bifurcation is investigated. The study is conducted for a discrete system (quadratic mapping); how-ever, many of the laws discovered apply to more general systems. Estimates of the fluctuation variance are obtained both for the linear (away from the bifurcation threshold) and for the nonlinear mode (in the vicinity of the bifurcation threshold). It is shown that the variance of forced fluctuations in the strongly nonlinear mode is proportional to the root-mean-square of the noise intensity rather than to the variance. The possibility of measuring the noise in nonlinear systems on the basis of the prebifurcational noise amplification factor is demonstrated.  相似文献

Symmetry breaking bifurcations of solitons are investigated in framework of a nonlinear fractional Schrödinger equation (NLFSE) with competing cubic-quintic nonlinearity. Some prototypical characteristics of the symmetry breaking, featured by transformations of symmetric and antisymmetric soliton families into asymmetric ones, are found. Stable asymmetric solitons emerge from unstable symmetric and antisymmetric ones by way of two different symmetry breaking scenarios. A twisting branch, featured with double loops bifurcation, bifurcates off from the base branch of symmetric soliton solutions and crosses it, then merges into the base branch driven by the competitive nonlinear effect. A supercritical pitchfork bifurcation is bifurcated from the branch of antisymmetric soliton solutions and gives rise to a supercritical pitchfork bifurcation. Stability of the soliton families is explored by linear stability analysis. With the increase of the Lévy index, stability region induced by the twisting loops bifurcation is expanded. However, stability region of the pitchfork bifurcation is shrunk on the parameter plane of the Lévy index and the soliton power.  相似文献

Frictional stick-slip dynamics is discussed using a model of one oscillator pulled by a nonlinear spring force. We focus our attention on the nonlinear spring parameter k0. The dynamics of the model is carefully studied, both numerically and analytically. Our numerical investigation, which involves bifurcation diagrams, shows a rich spectrum of dynamical behavior including periodic, quasi-periodic and chaotic states. On the other hand, and for a good selection of parameters , the motion of the particle involves periodic stick-slip, erratic and intermittent motions, characterized by force fluctuations, and sliding. This study suggests that the transition between each of motion strongly depends on the nonlinear parameter k0. The system also displays resonance at fractional frequencies of the oscillator.  相似文献

We analyze noise-induced phenomena in nonlinear dynamical systems near a subcritical Hopf bifurcation. We investigate qualitative changes of probability distributions (stochastic bifurcations), coherence resonance, and stochastic synchronization. These effects are studied in dynamical systems for which a subcritical Hopf bifurcation occurs. We perform analytical calculations, numerical simulations and experiments on an electronic circuit. For the generalized Van der Pol model we uncover the similarities between the behavior of a self-sustained oscillator characterized by a subcritical Hopf bifurcation and an excitable system. The analogy is manifested through coherence resonance and stochastic synchronization. In particular, we show both experimentally and numerically that stochastic oscillations that appear due to noise in a system with hard excitation, can be partially synchronized even outside the oscillatory regime of the deterministic system.  相似文献

We analyze nonlinear guided waves in a planar waveguide made of a left-handed material surrounded by a Kerr-like nonlinear dielectric, and predict that such a waveguide can support fast and slow symmetric and antisymmetric nonlinear modes. We study the symmetry breaking bifurcation and asymmetric modes in such a symmetric structure. The analysis of nonlinear dispersion properties of the guided waves shows that the modes can be either forward or backward.  相似文献

A hysteretic Subcritical period-doubling bifurcation is observed in the nonlinear strain dynamics of a magnetostrictive oscillator. The dynamic strain response of the magnetostrictive oscillator was observed with a high-resolution fiber optic interferometer. The effects of low-frequency modulation and band-limited stochastic fluctuations on such a bifurcation are investigated. Power spectral density measurements show that for an optimal value of externally injected noise the signal-to-noise ratio of a low-frequency modulation signal is enhanced by greater than 14 dB, thus indicating the first experimental observation of stochastic resonance near a bistable period-doubling bifurcation.  相似文献

Semi-classical approach to study the self-trapping of an electron in a linear molecular chain of finite number of sites N reveals a bistability reflecting two degenerate ground state configurations of the electron-lattice system. This bistability emerges as a result of symmetry breaking which occurs only for even N when the electron-phonon coupling exceeds a threshold. Vibration energy harvesting research has largely focused on linear electromechanical devices excited at resonance. Considering that most realistic vibration environments are more accurately described as either stochastic, multi-frequency, time varying, or some combination thereof, narrowband linear systems are fated to be highly inefficient under these conditions. Nonlinear systems, on the other hand, are capable of responding over a broad frequency range; suggesting an intrinsic suitability for efficient performance in realistic vibration environments. Since a number of nonlinear dynamical responses emerge from dissipative systems undergoing a homoclinic saddle-point bifurcation, we validate this concept with a bistable inertial oscillator comprised of permanent magnets and a piezoelectric cantilever beam. The system is analytically modeled, numerically simulated, and experimentally realized to demonstrate enhanced capabilities and new challenges. In addition, a bifurcation parameter within the design is examined as either a fixed or an adaptable tuning mechanism for enhanced sensitivity to ambient excitation.  相似文献

We study mechanical amplification and noise squeezing in a nonlinear nanomechanical resonator driven by an intense pump near its dynamical bifurcation point, namely, the onset of Duffing bistability. Phase sensitive amplification is achieved by a homodyne detection scheme, where the displacement detector's output, which has a correlated spectrum around the pump frequency, is down-converted by mixing with a local oscillator operating at the pump frequency with an adjustable phase. The down-converted signal at the mixer's output could be either amplified or deamplified, yielding noise squeezing, depending on the local oscillator phase.  相似文献

We consider the focusing (attractive) nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation with an external, symmetric potential which vanishes at infinity and supports a linear bound state. We prove that the symmetric, nonlinear ground states must undergo a symmetry breaking bifurcation if the potential has a non-degenerate local maxima at zero. Under a generic assumption we show that the bifurcation is either a subcritical or supercritical pitchfork. In the particular case of double-well potentials with large separation, the power of nonlinearity determines the subcritical or supercritical character of the bifurcation. The results are obtained from a careful analysis of the spectral properties of the ground states at both small and large values for the corresponding eigenvalue parameter.  相似文献

We present the results of an experimental investigation of a network of nonlinear coupled oscillators which are coupled in feed-forward mode. By exploiting the nonlinear response of each oscillator near its intrinsic Hopf bifurcation point, we have found remarkable amplification of small signals over a narrow bandwidth with a large dynamic range. The effect is exploited to extract a small amplitude periodic signal from an input time series which is dominated by noise. Specifically, we have used this relatively simple experimental system to measure responses with a bandwidth of approximately 1% of the central frequency, amplifications of approximately 60 dB, and a dynamic range of approximately 80 dB and can extract signals from a time series with a signal to noise ratio of approximately -50 dB.  相似文献

The static bifurcation of the parametrically excited strongly nonlinear oscillator is studied. We consider the averaged equations of a system subject to Duffing--van der Pol and quintic strong nonlinearity by introducing the undetermined fundamental frequency into the computation in the complex normal form. To discuss the static bifurcation, the bifurcation problem is described as a 3-codimensional unfolding with $Z_{2}$ symmetry on the basis of singularity theory. The transition set and bifurcation diagrams for the singularity are presented, while the stability of the zero solution is studied by using the eigenvalues in various parameter regions.  相似文献

A noisy damping parameter in the equation of motion of a nonlinear oscillator renders the fixed point of the system unstable when the amplitude of the noise is sufficiently large. However, the stability diagram of the system can not be predicted from the analysis of the moments of the linearized equation. In the case of a white noise, an exact formula for the Lyapunov exponent of the system is derived. We then calculate the critical damping for which the nonlinear system becomes unstable. We also characterize the intermittent structure of the bifurcated state above threshold and address the effect of temporal correlations of the noise by considering an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck noise.  相似文献

Gross–Pitaevskii and nonlinear Hartree equations are equations of nonlinear Schrödinger type that play an important role in the theory of Bose–Einstein condensation. Recent results of Aschbacher et al.(3) demonstrate, for a class of 3-dimensional models, that for large boson number (squared L 2norm), $N$ , the ground state does not have the symmetry properties of the ground state at small $N$ . We present a detailed global study of the symmetry breaking bifurcation for a 1-dimensional model Gross–Pitaevskii equation, in which the external potential (boson trap) is an attractive double-well, consisting of two attractive Dirac delta functions concentrated at distinct points. Using dynamical systems methods, we present a geometric analysis of the symmetry breaking bifurcation of an asymmetric ground state and the exchange of dynamical stability from the symmetric branch to the asymmetric branch at the bifurcation point.  相似文献

We study analytically and numerically the noise-induced transition between an absorbing and an oscillatory state in a Duffing oscillator subject to multiplicative, Gaussian white noise. We show in a non-perturbative manner that a stochastic bifurcation occurs when the Lyapunov exponent of the linearised system becomes positive. We deduce from a simple formula for the Lyapunov exponent the phase diagram of the stochastic Duffing oscillator. A parametrically excited oscillator with strong nonlinearity, including van der Pol and Duffing types, is studied for static bifurcations. The applicable range of the modified Lindstedt-Poincaré method is extended to 1/2 subharmonic resonance systems. The bifurcation equation of a strongly nonlinear oscillator, which is transformed into a small parameter system, is determined by the multiple scales method. On the basis of the singularity theory, the transition set and the bifurcation diagram in various regions of the parameter plane are analysed.  相似文献
