We demonstrate a technique for making copies of optical vortices with the same topological charge using a single spatial light modulator. It has been shown that by using suitable diffractive optical elements, several copies of optical vortices with the same topological charge could be created. We have devised diffractive optical elements using a single spatial light modulator which could be used to make a vortex and its copies without inverting the charge. The nature of the topological charge was investigated with the interferometric technique. The experimental results are verified with the theoretical analysis. We anticipate that our results may find applications ranging from optical manipulation to quantum information.  相似文献

The magnetical rotation of the plane of polarisation and the ellipticity of the reflected and transmitted light through magnetically saturated, evaporated layers of iron, cobalt and nickel (30 to 100 mμ) are dependent one another according to the phenomenological theory of W.Voigt. The four measured magnetooptical angles are however independent each other. By comparison of other physical properties, except the magnetooptical ones, (f. e. magnetical saturation, optical absorption) measured respectively with transmitted and with reflected light, we try to prove, that the layers are homogenous at least near the glass-side. The linear increase of Faraday-rotation and optical absorption with the thickness of the layer supports this assumption. Then the independence can only be explaned by a magnetooptical term in the second equation of Maxwell also (precession of spin). The knowledge of the optical constants ist necessary for the comparison of magnetooptical ones. They are find out by measurements of intensity only, using the transmitted light and the reflected light at both sides of the layer. By supernumerarykinds of determination the foult is estimated. The method of Drude is adapted to measurements of intensity and then applied on the glasside too. The results on this side agree with those of transmitted light, the air-side differs a little.  相似文献

Recent results and used way of tissue optical properties measurements in vitro with laser goniophotometer are presented. The optical properties were obtained on the basis of an indirect technique using solution of the radiative transfer equation, which relate the optical parameters of tissue with the measured parameters of reflected and transmitted radiation. The angular patterns of reflected and transmitted radiation by optically thick saline-soaked samples of tumor tissue, namely, mammary fibroadenoma, were measured at the wavelength of 0.63 μm, and the measurement data were inverted to find the absorption and extinction coefficients and the parameters of the phase function of these tumor samples. Obtained values of the optical parameters have been found to be of the same order of magnitude as the earlier reported data for similar tumor samples.  相似文献

在圆柱坐标系中研究了傍轴线偏振拉盖尔-高斯光束在两种各向同性介质界面反射和折射后光强质心的偏移. 基于菲涅耳近似和泰勒级数展开,分别得到了部分反射和全反射两种情形下,质心的横向偏移和纵向偏移与光束拓扑荷的解析关系式. 研究表明,部分反射时,反射和折射光束的横向偏移的大小与光束的拓扑荷成正比,方向由拓扑荷的符号决定;而纵向偏移仅仅大小与光束的拓扑荷有关. 全反射时,反射光束质心偏移不受拓扑荷影响. 通过数值模拟验证了解析结果的正确性,并得到了解析公式的适用条件. 拉盖尔-高斯光束的质心偏移特性可应用于测量光 关键词: 拉盖尔-高斯光束 横向偏移 纵向偏移 拓扑荷  相似文献

It is shown that sum-frequency generation of light beams with vortices allows to construct vortices of different topological charges. An optical parametric amplifier enables to produce a vortex with opposite topological charge (to the reverse vortex). In this way, a frequency converter can be seen as a prototype of an optical processor which allows to produce simple arithmetical operations with topological charges of the interacting vortices.  相似文献

Spatial characteristics of diffracted beams produced by a “fork” hologram from an incident circular Laguerre-Gaussian beam whose axis differs from the hologram optical axis are studied theoretically. General analytical representations for the complex amplitude distribution of a diffracted beam are derived in terms of superposition of Kummer beams or hypergeometric-Gaussian beams. The diffracted beam structure is determined by combination of the “proper” topological charge m of the incident vortex beam and the topological charge l of the singularity “imparted” by the hologram. Evolution of the diffracted beam structure is studied in detail for several combinations of m and l and for various incident beam displacements with respect to the optical axis of the hologram. Variations of the intensity and phase distribution due to the incident beam misalignment are investigated and possible applications for the purposeful optical vortex beam generation and optical measurements are discussed.  相似文献

In the process of high-harmonic generation with a Laguerre-Gaussian(LG) mode, it was well established that the topological charge could be of an N-fold increase due to angular momentum conservation. Here, by mimicking the effect of high-harmonic generation, we devise a simple algorithm to generate optical vortex arrays carrying arbitrary topological charges with a single phase-only spatial light modulator. By initially preparing a coaxial superposition of suitable low-order LG modes, we demonstrate experimentally that the topological charges of the embedded vortices can be multiplied and transformed into arbitrarily high orders on demand, while the array structure remains unchanged. Our algorithm offers a concise way to efficiently manipulate the structured light beams and holds promise in optical micromanipulation and remote sensing.  相似文献

A coronagraph designed for high contrast imaging applications has been experimentally tested using coherent laser light and a vortex mask of topological charge m=2. Intensity contrast values of 95% were achieved in this first verification of the scheme. Improvements for approaching the theoretical value of 100% are suggested.  相似文献

We describe a high-contrast imaging technique capable of directly measuring light from a terrestrial planet by using a vortex mask of topological charge m = 5. We make optical vortices of different topological charge and diffract them through a quadratic phase mask using the same spatial light modulator. This phase mask shows the diffraction in which the positive diffracted order has different dynamics than the negative diffracted order. The diffraction pattern and its orientation depend on the charge of the vortex as well as its sign. The experimental results are verified with exact analytical results.  相似文献

We demonstrate, analytically and experimentally, a simple, but effective method to determine the topological charge of an optical vortex by using a spherical bi-convex lens, a ubiquitous optical element found in any optics laboratory. Just by tilting the lens and recording the intensity distribution of a propagating vortex at a predicted position past the lens, we have been able to measure both the sign and the magnitude of the topological charge m   up to m=±14m=±14. Our experimental results are in excellent agreement with analytical predictions.  相似文献

Harmonics generated by an intense femtosecond Gaussian laser pulse normally incident on a spiral-shaped thin foil target were studied.By using two-dimensional(2D) particle-in-cell(PIC) simulation,we observed evident odd harmonics signals in the reflection direction and found that the reflected field has a helical structure determined by the target shape.This method provides a new way to generate an intense ultraviolet vortex with high-order topological charge by use of ultrahigh intense laser-driven harmonics.  相似文献

We generate and identify multi-vortices of the 2D Abelian Higgs model on a finite lattice by relaxation of Monte Carlo equilibrium configurations. The lattice vortices have action and a uniquely defined topological charge corresponding to the continuum ones. They exhibit the expected exponential decay behaviour and satisfy approximately the classical equations of motion. Vortex-antivortex superpositions are seen as well, supporting the dilute gas picture. Single vortices finally relax into “dislocations” and disappear. A background charge construction turns out nearly insensitive with respect to dislocations.  相似文献

In this paper, the new method of determination of the topological charge of vortex points in the interference field obtained by three plane waves interference is presented. Such optical fields are used in the optical vortex interferometer (OVI) and the determination of vortex points’ topological charge allows of unique determination of the relative phase between interfering waves (phase unwrapping problem). The new method uses additional plane wave, which produce a characteristic fork-like fringe structure in the neighbourhood of vortex points. By analysing the orientation of these fork-like patterns one can read the sign of the topological charge of the given vortex point. The method is simple and can be used for OVI calibration performed before the measurements.  相似文献

Optical absorption spectra of polarized infrared radiation in p-type SiGe quantum-well structures have been investigated. Three types of structures with different magnitudes and signs of biaxial elastic strains have been studied. The light absorption factor has been found to double in the region of interband transitions under the in-plane tensile strain of the quantum-well heterojunction. The results are attributed to a change in the order of light- and heavy-hole bands caused by the tensile strain and to the formation of the ground state of charge carriers in the light-hole band.  相似文献

The topological charge density and topological susceptibility are determined by a multi-probing approximation using overlap fermions in quenched SU(3) gauge theory. Then we investigate the topological structure of the quenched QCD vacuum, and compare it with results from the all-scale topological density. The results are consistent.Random permuted topological charge density is used to check whether these structures represent underlying ordered properties. The pseudoscalar glueball mass is extracted from the two-point correlation function of the topological charge density. We study 3 ensembles of different lattice spacing a with the same lattice volume 16~3×32. The results are compatible with the results of all-scale topological charge density, and the topological structures revealed by multi-probing are much closer to all-scale topological charge density than those from eigenmode expansion.  相似文献
