Let F/E be an abelian Galois extension of function fields over an algebraic closed field K of characteristic p > 0. Denote by G the Galois group of the extension F/E. In this paper, we study Ω(m), the space of holomorphic m‐(poly)differentials of the function field of F when G is cyclic or a certain elementary abelian group of order pn; we give bases for each case when the base field is rational, introduce the Boseck invariants and give an elementary approach to the G module structure of Ω(m) in terms of Boseck invariants. The last computation is achieved without any restriction on the base field in the cyclic case, while in the elementary abelian case it is assumed that the base field is rational. Finally, an application to the computation of the tangent space of the deformation functor of curves with automorphisms is given.  相似文献

The connections between first-order formulas over a completely simple semigroupC and corresponding formulas over its structure groupH are found in this paper. For the case of finite sandwich-matrix the criterion of decidability of the elementary theoryT(C) is established in terms of the elementary theory ofH in the enriched signature (Theorem 1). For the general case the criterion is established in terms of two-sorted algebraic systems (Theorem 2). Sufficient conditions in terms ofH for decidability and for undecidability ofT(C) are outlined. Corollaries and examples are presented, among them an example of a completely simple semigroup with a finite structure group and with undecidable elementary theory (Theorem 3).  相似文献

James and Mathas conjecture a criterion for the Specht module Sλ for the symmetric group to be irreducible over a field of prime characteristic. We extend a result of Lyle to prove this conjecture in one direction; our techniques are elementary.  相似文献

Summary We give an elementary proof of the fact that a finite Borel measure on n is absolutely continuous with a C 1 density if and only if it has directional derivatives which are continuous almost everywhere. The Radon-Nikodym derivative of a differentiable measure is given in terms of the directional derivatives.  相似文献

This paper is the first part (out of two) of the fifth paper in a sequence on the structure of sets of solutions to systems of equations in a free group, projections of such sets, and the structure of elementary sets defined over a free group. In the two papers on quantifier elimination we use the iterative procedure that validates the correctness of anAE sentence defined over a free group, presented in the fourth paper, to show that the Boolean algebra ofAE sets defined over a free group is invariant under projections, and hence show that every elementary set defined over a free group is in the Boolean algebra ofAE sets. The procedures we use for quantifier elimination, presented in this paper and its successor, enable us to answer affirmatively some of Tarski's questions on the elementary theory of a free group in the sixth paper of this sequence. H. Bass defined orthogonal transvection group of an orthogonal module and elementary orthogonal transvection group of an orthogonal module with a hyperbolic direct summand. We also have the notion of relative orthogonal transvection group and relative elementary orthogonal transvection group with respect to an ideal of the ring. According to the definition of Bass relative elementary orthogonal transvection group is a subgroup of the relative orthogonal transvection group of an orthogonal module with hyperbolic direct summand. Here we show that these two groups are the same in the case when the orthogonal module splits locally.  相似文献

LetG be a profinite group which has an open subgroupH such that the cohomologicalp-dimensiond≔cdp(H) is finite (p is a fixed prime). The main result of this paper expresses thep-primary part of high degree cohomology ofG in terms of the elementary abelianp-subgroups ofG: From the latter one constructs a natural profinite simplicial setA G, on whichG acts by conjugation. ThenH n(G,M)≅H G n (AG,M) holds fornd+r and everyp-primary discreteG-moduleM (rp-rank ofG). If one uses profinite Farrell cohomology, which is introduced in this paper, the analogous fact holds in all degrees. These results are the profinite analogues of theorems by K.S. Brown for discrete groups.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring. In this article, we provide some new criteria for a semidualizing module to be dualizing in terms of special homological properties of module categories. The purpose of this article is twofold: first, it aims at improving Christensen's and Takahashi et al.'s characterizations of dualizing modules; secondly, while applying these criteria to the ring itself, we not only recover some results of Jenda and Xu, respectively, but also obtain a new characterization of Gorenstein rings.  相似文献

It is proved that a commutative ring is clean if and only if it is Gelfand with a totally disconnected maximal spectrum. It is shown that each indecomposable module over a commutative ring R satisfies a finite condition if and only if R P is an Artinian valuation ring for each maximal prime ideal P. Commutative rings for which each indecomposable module has a local endomorphism ring are studied. These rings are clean and elementary divisor rings. It is shown that each commutative ring R with a Hausdorff and totally disconnected maximal spectrum is local-global. Moreover, if R is arithmetic, then R is an elementary divisor ring.  相似文献

The Hamilton-Jacobi equation is briefly reviewed and a complementary form of this equation is derived. Both equations involve the Hamiltonian function but, whereas in the Hamilton-Jacobi equation it is the kinetic energy of the Hamiltonian that is expressed in terms of the derivatives of the generating function, in the complementary Hamilton-Jacobi equation it is the potential energy of the Hamiltonian that is expressed in terms of the derivatives of the generating function. Three elementary problems are analyzed to illustrate the underlying theory.  相似文献

In this paper, we identify the vector valued Hardy space with the Hardy space over the bidisk and construct a universal model for thecontractive analytic functions. We will also study some elementary properties of the submodules and show, in some cases, how the operator theoretical properties are related to the module theoretical properties. The last part focus on the study of double commutativity of compression operators.  相似文献

For a finite solvable group G and prime number p, we use elementary methods to obtain an upper bound for \mathfrak mp(G){\mathfrak {m}_{p}(G)} , defined as the number of maximal subgroups of G whose index in G is a power of p. From this we derive an upper bound on the total number of maximal subgroups of a finite solvable group in terms of its order. This bound improves existing bounds, and we identify conditions on the order of a finite solvable group under which this bound is best possible.  相似文献

This paper examines the implementation of an instructional module on preservice elementary teachers’ professional noticing of children’s mathematical thinking. The module focuses on professional noticing skills through the content focus of early algebraic reasoning and uses complex video vignettes from whole class instruction in authentic elementary mathematics classrooms. Findings indicated that two of the three components of professional noticing (attending and interpreting) showed statistically significant increases in a treatment group that did not occur in a comparison group. The deciding component remains a challenge that warrants further research.  相似文献

One considers a random walk on a countable group, determined by the measure. For amenable groups one gives an estimate of the spectral measure of the transition operator of the random walk in terms of the growth of the Følner sets, which allows us to find a lower bound for the probability of returning to the identity of inn steps. One gives an example of this estimate for the group. In the second part of the paper one obtains a lower bound for the entropy in terms of the oscillation of a nontrivial bounded -harmonic function on.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. Let X be an indecomposable regular module over a connected wild hereditary path-algebra. The main result is a factorization property for maps in the radical of End H (X) and an upper bound for its degree of nilpotency. The bound is sharp if X has elementary quasi-top. In this, case the socle of End H (X) can also be characterized.  相似文献

The purpose of this note is to give an elementary proof of the fact discovered by Bautista and Perez that for an Artin algebra a module without selfextension is determined by its top and its first syzygy.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group and W be a faithful representation of G over C. The group G acts on the field of rational functions C(W). The question whether the field of invariant functions C(W) G is purely transcendental over C goes back to Emmy Noether. Using the unramified cohomology group of degree 2 of this field as an invariant, Saltman gave the first examples for which C(W) G is not rational over C. Around 1986, Bogomolov gave a formula which expresses this cohomology group in terms of the cohomology of the group G. In this paper, we prove a formula for the prime to 2 part of the unramified cohomology group of degree 3 of C(W) G . Specializing to the case where G is a central extension of an F p -vector space by another, we get a method to construct nontrivial elements in this unramified cohomology group. In this way we get an example of a group G for which the field C(W) G is not rational although its unramified cohomology group of degree 2 is trivial.
