Three psychophysical forward masking studies were conducted on a multichannel cochlear implant patient. The first study investigated the masking pattern produced by a bipolar electrode pair at different stimulus currents. It was found that the masking pattern for a single-masker bipolar electrode pair had a maximum located at an electrode position where the masker and probe coincided. The spread of the masking pattern was not symmetrical about the maximum. The amount of masking decreased very rapidly toward the apical direction and less rapidly toward the basal direction from the position of the maximum. As the stimulus current increased, the amount of masking at the maximum increased and the masking pattern broadened toward the base. The second study investigated the masking pattern produced by the activation of single bipolar electrode pairs with different spatial extents. The spatial extent of a bipolar electrode pair is defined as the distance between the apical and basal electrode members of the bipolar pair. With a small spatial extent (1.5 mm), the more basal electrode pairs (higher threshold and smaller dynamic range) produced broader masking patterns than the more apical electrode pairs (lower threshold and wider dynamic range), suggesting that there was more current spread at the basal region. With a larger spatial extent (4.5 mm), an additional secondary masking maximum was observed in the vicinity of the apical electrode member of the masker; this was observed only when the apical electrode member lay within the low-threshold apical region. The third study investigated the masking patterns produced by two loudness balanced bipolar masker electrode pairs activated within a stimulus period (inverse of the pulse repetition rate). The biphasic current pulses delivered to the two electrode pairs were nonoverlapping in time. It was found that, at any probe electrode position, the amount of masking produced by the two combined bipolar electrode pairs approximately followed the greater of the two maskings produced respectively by the two individual bipolar masker electrode pairs.  相似文献

Huang and Holt [(2009). J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 125, 3983-3994] suggest that listeners may dynamically tune lexical tone perception via general auditory sensitivity to the mean f0 of the preceding context, effectively normalizing pitch differences across talkers. The present experiments further examine the effect using the missing-f0 phenomenon as a means of determining the level of auditory processing at which lexical tone normalization occurs. Speech contexts filtered to remove or mask low-frequency f0 energy elicited contrastive context effects. Central, rather than peripheral, auditory processes may be responsible for the context-dependence that has been considered to be lexical tone normalization.  相似文献

The three dimensional electron density in momentum space ρ(p) and in wave vector space n(k) was reconstructed for cadmium (Cd). The measurements were performed using the two dimensional angular correlation of annihilation radiation (2D-ACAR) technique. Enhanced contributions in the spectra were observed around 5.5 mrad, discussed in terms of a Kahana-like enhancement effect. From another viewpoint, Fermi radii were analyzed in the (λM K), (ALM) and (AHK) planes, and they showed a maximum deviation of about 4% from the free electron Fermi radius. Moreover, comparisons to a radio-frequency size effect (RFSE) experiment and theoretical band structure calculations (using augmented plane wave (APW), linear combination of atomic orbital (LCAO) and linear muffin tin orbital (LMTO) methods) were examined. The results showed a qualitative agreement with both APW and LCAO calculations. However, a favorable agreement with the APW method was determined via Fermi surface dimensions. The differences of bands' occupation of n(k) between the current work and the APW method were argued in view of positron wave function in Cd.  相似文献

根据法拉第磁光效应的非互易性,分析了旋光反射腔的光强输出特性,表明这种反射腔具有旋光增强效应.在此基础上提出了用于检测微小旋转角的旋光增强法,并对旋光增强器的特性进行了理论分析和仿真计算.给出了测量灵敏度随器件反射率、样品吸收因素及一次旋光角变化的关系,讨论了角度测量工作点、测量范围以及相对灵敏度理论极限问题.旋光增强器有望应用于微流控系统的旋光检测以及实现磁旋光仪器的小型化和微型化. 关键词: 法拉第磁光效应 磁旋光增强 微小旋光角检测 微流控系统  相似文献

Using pion exchange and Δ(1236) excitation inside the deuteron, the N1(1150) enhancement with isospin I = 12, seen in evidence in dp coherent interactions, is explained. Good agreement is obtained, without any arbitrary normalization, between the Frascati-Caen-Saclay data and the predictions of this model. A novel method of luminescence enhancement effect for the determination of balofloxacin (BLFX) was proposed. A new system of the BLFX-Eu3+-SDBS (sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate) was investigated. It was found that SDBS significantly enhanced the luminescence intensity of the BLFX-Eu3+ complex (about 20-fold). Under the optimized experimental conditions, the system exhibits an excellent linear relationship between the enhanced luminescence intensity and the concentration of BLFX over the range of 1.0×10−8-8.0×10−7 mol L−1 with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.9994, and the detection limit (3σ) of the method was determined as 2.0×10−9 mol L−1. This method has been successfully applied for the determination of BLFX in pharmaceuticals and human urine/serum samples. Compared with most of the other methods reported, the rapid and simple procedure proposed in the text offers higher sensitivity, wider linear range, and better stability.  相似文献

Dielectric constant, dielectric loss and AC conductivity were measured, in the frequency range 100 Hz to 5 MHz in chlorinated poly (vinyl chloride) (CPVC) before and after exposure to gamma irradiation at doses between 5.0 KGy and 50.0 KGy. The frequency dependencies of ε′, ε″ and σAC at 30 °C were investigated. A relaxation peak in the dielectric loss and a corresponding step in the dielectric constant have been observed, in the frequency ranges 103 Hz to 104 Hz. The dielectric constant ε′, dielectric loss ε″ and AC conductivity σAC are also found to increase at heating up to 100 °C. In addition the effect of gamma irradiation on the frequency dependencies of ε′, ε″ and σAC was measured at room temperature. The gamma irradiation leads to an increase in the efficiency of soft segments. Furthermore, the DC electrical conductivity of both the irradiated and non-irradiated samples was investigated. The induced electrical conductivity and the activation energy were measured, at various temperatures, as a function of gamma dose. It was found that the gamma radiation has a definite effect on the DC conductivity of the CPVC polymer.  相似文献

A simple, but still three-dimensional, model describing the morphological stability of realistic SiGe islands on Si(001) is presented. The experimental evolution toward steeper islands with volume can be predicted for any average composition. Despite the use of elastic theory for stress relaxation under the assumption of a uniform SiGe distribution, and of a common mean surface energy of the faceted islands, the model seems to capture the essence of the energetic balance determining the morphological evolution with volume, with no fitting parameters. This is suggested by close comparison with molecular beam epitaxy data at three different temperatures (i.e.?compositions). The good agreement also allows for interpreting the minor scattering of experimental data with temperature and provides a reliable tool for extracting the average Ge content from standard atomic force microscopy analysis.  相似文献

We investigate the role of the noise in the mating behavior between individuals of Nezara viridula (L.), by analyzing the temporal and spectral features of the non-pulsed type female calling song emitted by single individuals.We have measured the threshold level for the signal detection, by performing experiments with the calling signal at different intensities and analyzing the insect response by directionality tests performed on a group of male individuals. By using a sub-threshold signal and an acoustic Gaussian noise source, we have investigated the insect response for different levels of noise, finding behavioral activation for suitable noise intensities. In particular, the percentage of insects which react to the sub-threshold signal, shows a non-monotonic behavior, characterized by the presence of a maximum, for increasing levels of the noise intensity. This constructive interplay between external noise and calling signal is the signature of the non-dynamical stochastic resonance phenomenon. Finally, we describe the behavioral activation statistics by a soft threshold model which shows stochastic resonance. We find that the maximum of the ensemble average of the input-output cross-correlation occurs at a value of the noise intensity very close to that for which the behavioral response has a maximum.  相似文献

The results of investigations of the transverse Kerr effect on an array of thin magnetic strips deposited on a silicon substrate are reported. The periodic structure of the sample gives rise to diffraction. It is observed that under certain experimental conditions the magnitude of the effect measured in diffracted beams is much greater than the maximum value for a sample with a uniform surface.
