In this paper, we show that the Lax connections can yield new classical solutions with a spectral parameter of the hybrid formulism for the Type IIB superstring in an AdS 2 × S 2 background with Ramond-Ramond flux. This series of classical solutions have the same infinite set of classically conserved charges.   相似文献

We show that there exists a one-parameter family of infinite-dimensional algebras that includes the bosonicd=3 Fradkin-Vasiliev higher-spin algebra and the non-Euclidean version of the algebra of area-preserving diffeomorphisms of the two-sphereS 2 as two distinct members. The non-Euclidean version of the area preserving algebra corresponds to the algebra of area-preserving diffeomorphisms of the hyperbolic spaceS 1,1, and can be rewritten as . As an application of our results, we formulate a newd=2+1 massless higher-spin field theory as the gauge theory of the area-preserving diffeomorphisms ofS 1,1.  相似文献

We introduce a deformation of the Wess-Zumino-Novikov-Witten model with three-dimensional squashed sphere target space. We show how with an appropriate choice of Wess-Zumino and boundary terms it is possible to construct an infinite family of conserved charges realizing an SU(2) Yangian. Finally we discuss the running of the squashing parameter under renormalization group flow.  相似文献

We define non-local conserved currents in massive current algebras in two dimensions. Our approach is algebraic and non-perturbative. The non-local currents give a quantum field realization of the Yangians. We show how the noncocommutativity of the Yangians is related to the non-locality of the currents. We discuss the implications of the existence of non-local conserved charges on theS-matrices.Laboratoire de la Direction des sciences de la matière du Commissariat à l'énergie atomique  相似文献

We present a new method to derive an infinite series of conserved local charges for the two-dimensional CPN σ-models. The generating relation for the conservation laws is a couple of first-order nonlinear differential equations. The method displays transparently the connection of the local charges with nonlocal dynamical charges of CPN models previously found.  相似文献

We construct and study the implications of some new non-local conserved currents that exist is a wide variety of massive integrable quantum field theories in 2 dimensions, including the sine-Gordon theory and its generalization to affine Toda theory. These non-local currents provide a non-perturbative formulation of the theories. The symmetry algebras correspond to the quantum affine Kac-Moody algebras. TheS-matrices are completely characterized by these symmetries. FormalS-matrices for the imaginary-coupling affine Toda theories are thereby derived. The application of theseS-matrices to perturbed coset conformal field theory is studied. Non-local charges generating the finite dimensional Quantum Group in the Liouville theory are briefly presented. The formalism based on non-local charges we describe provides an algernative to the quantum inverse scattering method for solving integrable quantum field theories in 2d.  相似文献

Starting from the fact that the d=4 Euclidean flat spacetime is conformally related to the Kähler manifold H 2×S 2, we show the Euclidean Schwarzschild metric to be conformally related to another Kähler manifold M 2×S 2 with M 2 being conformal to H 2 in two dimensions. Both metrics which are conformally Kählerian, are form-invariant under the infinite parameter Fueter group, the Euclidean counterpart of Milne's group of clock regraduation. The associated Einstein's equations translate into Fueter's quaternionic analyticity. The latter leads to an infinite number of local continuity equations.  相似文献

We review the recent work on the mechanics of fast moving strings in anti-de Sitter space times a sphere and discuss the role of conserved charges. An interesting relation between the local conserved charges of rigid solutions was found in the earlier work. We propose a generalization of this relation for arbitrary solutions, not necessarily rigid. We conjecture that an infinite combination of local conserved charges is an action variable generating periodic trajectories in the classical string phase space. It corresponds to the length of the operator on the field theory side.  相似文献

Unitary representations of some infinite dimensional groups   总被引:12,自引:2,他引:10
We construct projective unitary representations of (a) Map(S 1;G), the group of smooth maps from the circle into a compact Lie groupG, and (b) the group of diffeomorphisms of the circle. We show that a class of representations of Map(S 1;T), whereT is a maximal torus ofG, can be extended to representations of Map(S 1;G),  相似文献

The Hamilton Cartan formalism for rth order Lagrangians is presented in a form suited to dealing with higher-order conserved currents. Noether's Theorem and its converse are stated and Poisson brackets are defined for conserved charges. An isomorphism between the Lie algebra of conserved currents and a Lie algebra of infinitesimal symmetries of the Cartan form is established. This isomorphism, together with the commutativity of the Bäcklund transformations for the KdV and modified KdV equations, allows a simple geometric proof that the infinite collections of conserved charges for these equations are in involution with respect to the Poisson bracket determined by their Lagrangians. Thus, the formal complete integrability of these equations appears as a consequence of the properties of their Bäcklund transformations. It is noted that the Hamilton Cartan formalism determines a symplectic structure on the space of functionals determined by conserved charges and that, in the case of the KdV equation, the structure is the same as that given by Miura et al. [5].  相似文献

The relation between conserved currents and symmetries of theS-matrix is investigated within the framework of Wightman field theory. Assuming a complete particle interpretation with no massless particles, it is shown that every conserved current yields a self-adjoint charge operator which acts additively onn-particle states and commutes with theS-matrix. For currents satisfying current algebra relations of a groupG, the corresponding charges generate a unitary representation ofG.  相似文献

An infinite sequence of nonlocal conserved currents is constructed for the supersymmetric generalization of the U(N)/U(N-p) U(p) chiral model. The generating function for nonlocal charges is explicitly obtained in terms of the component fields.  相似文献

The Hamilton–Cartan formalism for regular first order Lagrangian field theories is extended to deal with conserved currents which depend on higher order derivatives of the field variables. These conserved currents are characterized. Exterior differential systems I(k + 1) and I equivalent to the k-th and infinite prolongations of the Euler-Lagrange equations are defined. It is shown that to each conserved current is associated an equivalence class of infinitesimal symmetries of I. Conserved charges are defined and a Poisson bracket is constructed by analogy with the usual definition. The sine-Gordon equation is treated briefly as an application of the formalism.  相似文献

The notion of local quasi-gauge bundle structure is introduced. We show that general relativity can be recast in a local quasi-SU(2)-bundle framework. In the limit of weak asymptotic gravitational field, this geometrical setup gives rise to spin-2 tensor fields sourcing global charges. If such charges are available, it is shown that the asymptotic geometrical framework is that of aU(1) gauge bundle overS 2, the commutative geometry of the (Dirac) magnetic monopole.  相似文献

We study compactification of extra dimensions in a theory of Dirac–Born–Infeld type gravity. We investigate the solution for Minkowski spacetime with an S 2 extra space as well as that for de Sitter spacetime (S 4) with an S 2 extra space. They are derived by the effective potential method in the presence of the magnetic flux on the extra sphere. We also consider the higher-dimensional generalization of the solutions. We find that, in a certain model, the radius of the extra space has a minimum value independent of the higher-dimensional Newton constant.  相似文献

An infinite set of higher spin conserved charges is found for the sp(2M) symmetric dynamical systems in M(M+ 1)/2-dimensional generalized spacetime M. Since the dynamics in M is equivalent to the conformal dynamics of infinite towers of fields in d-dimensional Minkowski spacetime with d = 3, 4, 6, 10, ... for M = 2, 4, 8, 16, ..., respectively, the constructed currents in M generate infinite towers of (mostly new) higher spin conformal currents in Minkowski spacetime. The charges have a form of integrals of M-forms which are bilinear in the field variables and are closed as a consequence of the field equations. Conservation implies independence of a value of charge of a local variation of a M-dimensional integration surface M analogous to Cauchy surface in the usual spacetime. The scalar conserved charge provides an invariant bilinear form on the space of solutions of the field equations that gives rise to a positive-definite norm on the space of quantum states.  相似文献

We show how to construct irreducible projective representations of the infinite dimensional Lie group Map (S 1, ), by embedding it into the group of Bogoliubov automorphisms of the CAR. Using techniques of G. Segal for extending certain representations of Map (S 1, SU(2)) we show that our representations extend to give representations of a certain infinite dimensional superalgebra. We relate our work to the well known boson-fermion correspondence which exists in 1+1 dimensions.  相似文献
