For automorphism groups of operator algebras we show how properties of the difference t – ' t are reflected in relations between the generators , . Indeed for a von Neumann algebraM with separable predual we show that if t – 't 0.28 for smallt, then = 0(+)°-1 where is an inner automorphism ofM and is a bounded derivation ofM. If the difference t – ' t =O(t) ast ; 0, then = + and if t – ' t 0.28 for allt then =. We simulate the classical diffusion of a particle of massM in an infinite one-dimensional system of hard point particles of massm in equilibrium. Each computer run corresponds to about 108 collisions of the diffusive particle. We find that (t) 1/t fort large enough, and a crossover from an M m regime where=2 to=3 forM=m. The diffusion constant has a sharp maximum atM=m. We study moments x(t)2 and x(t)4, and examine the behavior ofq 2 (t)=x(t)4/3x(t)22. We find thatq(t)1 (consistent with a normal distribution) in theM limit (for all timest) and in the t limit for allM. We give a simplified construction of twist eating configurations, based on a theorem due to Frobenius. These configurations are defined through the equation:U U U + U + =exp(2in /N) withU SU(N), =1 tod andn an antisymmetric matrix with integer entries. In the (Twisted)-Eguchi-Kawai model they yield extrema some of which survive forN. Comparison is made with the Monte Carlo data of the internal energy in the small coupling region.  相似文献

In a study of compressible flow, we have tracked the motion of particles that float on a turbulent body of water. The second moment of longitudinal velocity differences scales as in incompressible flow. However the separation R 2(t) of particle pairs does not vary in time according to the Richardson–Kolmogorov prediction R 2(t)t 3. As expected, the self diffusion d 2(t) shows a crossover between ballistic motion d 2(t)t 2 at small t and uncorrelated motion d 2(t)t in the longtime limit.  相似文献

We extend the bichromatic majority model by including (one-dimensional isotropic) correlations and numerically discuss, through Monte Carlo simulations, the simple, 1/3, and 2/3 majority rules. We calculate, as functions of the concentration and correlation degree, the mean finite cluster size, and the order parameterm as well as their respective critical exponents and. We find1 regardless of the correlation degree or the type of majority. Also, a supplementary divergence of is observed at the>0 borderline.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Im nachstehenden Artikel werden mikrophysikalische Vorgänge behandelt, die das Auftreten schneller Schichtungswellen in Neonglimmentladungen veranlassen können. Es werden sowohl die qualitativen Abhängigkeiten, als auch die ziffernmäigen Werte der Parameter der Schichtungswellen mit den charakteristischen Gröenwerten der in diesem Entladungstypus vor sich gehenden Vorgänge verglichen. Auf Grund der vorgenommenen Vergleiche kann gesagt werden, da die Relaxationszeiten der schnellen Wellen durch die Diffusionslebensdauer der atomaren, bzw. molekularen Ionen gegeben sind.

Principal oscillation pattern (POP) analysis was recently introduced into climatology to analyze multivariate time series xi(t) produced by systems whose dynamics are described by a linear Markov process x=Bx + . The matrixB gives the deterministic feedback and is a white noise vector with covariances (t) j (t*Q ij (t–t. The POP method is applied to data from a direct simulation Monte Carlo program. The system is a dilute gas with 50,000 particles in a Rayleigh-Bénard configuration. The POP analysis correctly reproduces the linearized Navier-Stokes equations (in the matrixB) and the stochastic fluxes (in the matrixQ) as given by Landau-Lifschitz fluctuating hydrodynamics. Using this method, we find the Landau-Lifschitz theory to be valid both in equilibrium and near the critical point of Rayleigh-Bénard convection.  相似文献

It is shown that ifA, B andX are operators on a Hilbert space such thatA andB are positive andX belongs to a norm ideal associated with some unitarily invariant norm |·|, then for 0 r 1 we have |A r XB r | |X|1-r |AXB| r . This is an extension of the classical Heinz-Kato inequality which was originally proved for the usual operator norm. Other related inequalities are also discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we paraquantize the spinning string theory in the Neveu-Shwarz model. Unlike the Ardalan and Mansouri work [Phys. Rev. D, Vol. 9, (1974) 3341], the paraquantum system is such that both the center of mass variables and the excitation modes of the string verify paracommutation relations. The commutators of the Poincaré algebra are satisfied, except the [p ,p ] one, since one can only write [p ,p ]= 0, for Q1. Because of the relation [x ,x ] =,0 and with the sole use of the trilinear relations, we find existence possibilities of spinning strings defined in a noncommutative space-time at space-time dimensions other than D=10.  相似文献

A study is made of instability at frequencies close to the electron cyclotron frequency B and its multiples, subject to the presence of two different groups of electrons. It is shown that a mixture of hot and cold electrons ( ph 2 pc 2 ) in the region of frequencies s B, s2 can be unstable with respect to waves of the flute type (k z=0) with maximum increment max ( ph/pc). B, if there exists an interval of transversal velocities in whichF/ >0. When the curvature of the magnetic field is taken into account, even waves with B can be unstable in such a plasma. The effect of spatial inhomogeneity of the hot component on flute-type instability and on two-beam cyclotron instability is also examined.The author extends his thanks to A. B. We study the large time behavior of solutions of time dependent Schrödinger equationsiu/t=–(1/2)u+t V(x/t)u with bounded potentialV(x). We study theE-dependence of the Lyapounov exponent <(E)> of an electron with energyE in the one dimensional Anderson model with off diagonal disorder. In the neighbourhood of the band centre we find for nonzero disorder E)>log–1 E0 forE0, but all even moments of Re(E) diverge logarithmically. As the probability of Re (E)=0 decreases to zero forE0 we conclude that the electron is always exponentially localised.  相似文献

We consider quantum systems driven by Hamiltonians of the formH+W(t), where the spectrum ofH consists of an infinite set of bands andW(t) depends arbitrarily on time. Let H (t) denote the expectation value ofH with respect to the evolution at timet of an initial state . We prove upper bounds of the type H (t)=O(t ), >0, under conditions on the strength ofW(t) with respect toH. Neither growth of the gaps between the bands nor smoothness ofW(t) is required. Similar estimates are shown for the expectation value of functions ofH. Sufficient conditions to have uniformly bounded expectation values are made explicit and the consequences on other approaches to quantum stability are discussed.  相似文献
