用扩钛和质子交换相结合的方法在x切y传LiBnO3衬底上制成了TM模集成光波导偏振器。质子交换区位于扩钛波导的末端两侧。在质子交换区域Δne〉0,Δn0〈0,因此TE模辐射进入衬底。偏振器工作于1.3μm波长,消光比优于47dB,光纤0-波导-光纤插入损耗3.5dB。  相似文献

A full-wave method for the two-dimensional scattering problem by a perfectly conducting circular cylinder is presented, providing an exact solution for the Helmholtz equation in very general cases. The method is based on the Fourier series expression of the boundary conditions (Dirichlet and Neumann) generated by an arbitrary, finite-power, incident beam, and the analysis is performed in the complex plane of the analytic continuation of a space spectral variable. This approach allows us to define an analytic continuation for cylindrical wave expansions, working with lossy propagation media and with a full incident spectrum, including inhomogeneous waves, both in E and in H polarization. Convergence of the modal expansion is investigated, to verify that very weak hypotheses are needed, and no geometrical or paraxial approximation is required. Extact expressions for the expansion coefficients are given, in terms of complex intergrations involving the Fourier spectrum of the incident beam.  相似文献

Using the method of discrete sources, we solve the problem of scattering of electromagnetic waves by structures composed of a finite number of three-dimensional perfectly conducting bodies bounded by smooth surfaces of arbitrary shape. We describe briefly the capabilities of the package of computer codes developed for calculating the scattered-field characteristics and checking the accuracy of the solution obtained. We present some results of numerical calculations aimed at analysis of the influence of the distance between the bodies on their electromagnetic interaction.  相似文献

The spherical wave scattering response by a perfectly conducting open–ended waveguide in a biisotropic medium is obtained. Interestingly, the vector diffraction problem is reduced to the scattering of a single scalar field, this scalar field being the normal component of either a left–handed or a right–handed Beltrami field. Here, we explicitly consider the scattering of the left–handed field component, that of the other scalar field being analogously tractable. The solution is constructed with the aid of the Wiener–Hopf technique.  相似文献

The vacuum energy density of electromagnetic field inside a perfectly conducting wedge is calculated by making use of the local zeta function technique. This regularization completely eliminates divergent expressions in the course of calculations and gives rise to a finite expression for the energy density in question without any subtractions. Employment of the Hertz potentials for constructing the general solution to the Maxwell equations results in a considerable simplification of the calculations. Transition to the global zeta function is carried out by introducing a cutoff nearby the cusp at the origin. Proceeding from this the heat kernel coefficients are calculated and the high temperature asymptotics of the Helmholtz free energy and of the torque of the Casimir forces are found. The wedge singularity gives rise to a specific high temperature behavior ∼T2 of the quantities under consideration. The obtained results are directly applicable to the free energy of a scalar massless field and electromagnetic field on the background of a cosmic string.  相似文献

We measured and analyzed the behavior of the fluorescence of tryptophan water solutions with and without silver nanoparticles, excited by one, two and three photon processes. Two different colloids with silver nanoparticles with distinct diameters (0.65 nm and 9 nm) were used in the experiments. Fluorescence quenching was observed with one and two photon excitation. However, upon three-photon excitation, significant fluorescence enhancement was observed in the colloid. In this case excitation of the amino acid is assisted by the nonlinear absorption of infrared light by the silver nanoparticles. In this paper we are proposing a new way to explore metallic nanoparticles to enhance autofluorescence of biomolecules.  相似文献

Parametric excitations of electrostatic convective cells by drift waves as well as magnetostatic cells by Alfvén waves are considered. The growth rates are calculated for various limits of interest to plasma diffusion studies; our results agree with computer simulations. The problem of crossfield diffusion is also discussed. Finally, the coupling of magnetostatic modes with electrostatic modes is investigated and a variational principle for coalescence of magnetic islands is formulated.  相似文献

Convective Cell formation due to nonlinear interaction of interchange mode is studied using multiple time and space scales. Basic interchange mode equation is modified to obtain nonlinear localized structure with modulational perturbation in the drift direction and periodic boundary condition for the perturbation in the direction of the density gradient. To study modulational instability we have deduced nonlinear evolution equation for the first order perturbation from third order secularity elimination condition. An analysis is carried out involving reversible thermodynamic operations on arbitrarily shaped small cavities in perfectly conducting material. These operations consist of quasistatic deformations and displacements of cavity walls and objects within the cavity. This analysis necessarily involves the consideration of Casimir-like forces. Typically, even for the simplest of geometrical structures, such calculations become quite complex, as they need to take into account changes in singular quantities. Much of this complexity is reduced significantly here by working directly with the change in electromagnetic fields as a result of the deformation and displacement changes. A key result of this work is the derivation that for such cavity structures, classical electromagnetic zero-point radiation is the appropriate spectrum at a temperature of absolute zero to ensure that the reversible deformation operations obey both isothermal and adiabatic conditions. In addition, a generalized Wien displacement law is obtained from the demand that the change in entropy of the radiation in these arbitrarily shaped structures must be a state function of temperature and frequency.  相似文献

A simple integrated coupler is proposed for the efficient excitation of surface plasmon polariton (SPP) mode in a thin metal film. The SPP mode is generated in a single Ag-dielectric interface by the incident field and coupled with an Ag thin film. The coupling efficiency at different wavelengths using two different dielectrics, gallium lanthanum sulfide (GLS) and aluminum gallium arsenide (AIGaAs) is calculated by analyzing the SPP propagation dynamics with the finite difference time domain method. A maximum coupling efficiency of 70~ is obtained at a wavelength of 46Ohm when GLS is used, whereas the corresponding value obtained for A1GaAs is 60~o at 56Onto. The proposed structure can be used to excite SPPs in a nano-thin film from an external bulky source and is easier to fabricate since a single interface metal-dielectric configuration is used to excite the metal-thin film.  相似文献

We study the nonlinear excitations in the integrable fifth-order nonlinear Schr?dinger equation on a continuous wave background. The excited condition of each localized wave is demonstrated via concise phase diagrams.In particular, the rule of transition between asymmetric and symmetric multi-peak solitons is revealed. It is shown that the initial phase modulation can induce the transition and the transition condition is demonstrated exactly. Interestingly, our result shows that although the multi-peak solitons exhibit structural diversity, both the asymmetric and symmetric states possess an identical asymmetric spectrum structure.  相似文献
