The Bartle–Dunford–Schwartz integral for scalar functions with respect to vector measures is characterized by means of Riemann-type sums based on partitions of the domain into countably many measurable sets. In this setting, two natural notions of integrability (Birkhoff integrability and Kolmogoroff integrability) turn out to be equivalent to Bartle–Dunford–Schwartz integrability.  相似文献

In this paper a method for the resolution of the differential equation of the Jacobi vector fields in the manifold V 1 = Sp(2)/SU(2) is exposed. These results are applied to determine areas and volumes of geodesic spheres and balls. In this work we extend to superalgebras a result of Skosyrskii [Algebra and Logic, 18 (1) (1979) 49–57, Lemma 2] relating associative and Jordan structures. As an application, we show that the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of an associative superalgebra coincides with that of its symmetrization, and that local finiteness is equivalent in associative superalgebras and in their symmetrizations. In this situation we obtain that having zero Gelfand-Kirillov dimension is equivalent to being locally finite.Partially supported by MCYT and Fondos FEDER BFM2001-1938-C02-02, and MEC and Fondos FEDER MTM2004-06580-C02-01.Partially supported by a F.P.I. Let X be a Banach space, (Ω,Σ) a measurable space and let m : Σ → X be a (countably additive) vector measure. Consider the corresponding space of integrable functions L1(m). In this paper we analyze the set of (countably additive) vector measures n satisfying that L1(n) = L1(m). In order to do this we define a (quasi) order relation on this set to obtain under adequate requirements the simplest representation of the space L1(m) associated to downward directed subsets of the set of all the representations. We characterize the infinitesimal generator of a semigroup of linear fractional self-maps of the unit ball in ℂn, n ≥ 1. For the case n = 1, we also completely describe the associated Koenigs function and solve the embedding problem from a dynamical point of view, proving (among other things) that a generic semigroup of holomorphic self-maps of the unit disc is a semigroup of linear fractional maps if and only if it contains a linear fractional map for some positive time. In this paper we consider finitely repeated games in which players can unilaterally commit to behave in an absentminded way in some stages of the repeated game. We prove that the standard conditions for folk theorems can be substantially relaxed when players are able to make this kind of compromises, both in the Nash and in the subgame perfect case. We also analyze the relation of our model with the repeated games with unilateral commitments studied, for instance, in García-Jurado et al. (Int. Game Theory Rev. 2:129–139, 2000). We consider the measure of points, the measure of lines and the measure of planes intersecting a given convex body K in a space form. We obtain some integral formulas involving the width of K and the curvature of its boundary ∂K. Also we study the special case of constant width. Moreover we obtain a generalisation of the Heintze–Karcher inequality to space forms. We prove the existence and uniqueness of solution for a first-order ordinary differential equation with periodic boundary conditions admitting only the existence of a lower solution. The Nevalinna–Pick algorithm yields a continued fraction expansion of every Schur function, whose approximants are identified. These approximants are quotients of rational functions which can be understood as the rational analogs of the Wall polynomials. The properties of these Wall rational functions and the corresponding approximants permit us to obtain a Khrushchev’s formula for orthogonal rational functions. An introduction to the convergence of the Wall approximants in the indeterminate case is presented. Geometric and summability properties of the integration operator associated to a vector measure m can be translated in terms of structure properties of the space L1(m). In this paper we study the cases of the integration operator being: (i) p-concave on Lp(m), or (ii) positive p-summing on L1(m) (where ). We prove that (i) is equivalent to saying that L1(m) contains continuously the Lp space of a (non-negative scalar) control measure for m. On the other hand, we show that (ii) holds if and only if L1(m) is order isomorphic to the L1 space of a non-negative scalar measure. J.M. This paper deals with bankruptcy situations in which in addition to the claims, an exogenously given reference point for the allocation of the estate is present. We introduce and analyse two types of compromise solutions and show that they coincide with the τ value of two corresponding TU games. We apply our solutions to a real-life case of allocating university money to degree courses. Monotone second order parameter-robust numerical methods for singularly perturbed differential equations can be designed using the principles of defect-correction. However, the proofs of second order parameter-uniform convergence can be difficult, even in one dimension. In this paper, we examine a variant of the standard defect-correction scheme. This variant is proposed in order to simplify the analysis of a defect-correction method in the case of a one dimensional convection–diffusion problem. Numerical results are presented to validate the theoretical results.*This research was partially supported by the project MEC/FEDER MTM 2004-019051 and the grant EUROPA XXI of the Caja de Ahorros de la Inmaculada.  相似文献

The existence of infinite dimensional closed linear spaces of holomorphic functions f on a domain G in the complex plane such that Tf has dense images on certain subsets of G, where T is a continuous linear operator, is analyzed. Necessary and sufficient conditions for T to have the latter property are provided and applied to obtain a number of concrete examples: infinite order differential operators, composition operators and multiplication operators, among others. In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for a comodule algebra over a weak Hopf algebra to have a total integral, thus extending the classical theory developed by Doi in the Hopf algebra setting. Also, from these results, we deduce a version of Maschke's Theorem for (H, B)-Hopf modules associated with a weak Hopf algebra H and a right H-comodule algebra B.  相似文献

The set of integer solutions to the inequality ax mod bc x is a numerical semigroup. We study numerical semigroups that are intersections of these numerical semigroups. Recently it has been shown that this class of numerical semigroups coincides with the class of numerical semigroups having a Toms decomposition. Higgs bundles and non-abelian Hodge theory provide holomorphic methods with which to study the moduli spaces of surface group representations in a reductive Lie group G. In this paper we survey the case in which G is the isometry group of a classical Hermitian symmetric space of non-compact type. Using Morse theory on the moduli spaces of Higgs bundles, we compute the number of connected components of the moduli space of representations with maximal Toledo invariant Members of VBAC (Vector Bundles on Algebraic Curves). A Bernstein-type theorem for Riemannian manifolds with a Killing field   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1
The classical Bernstein theorem asserts that any complete minimal surface in Euclidean space that can be written as the graph of a function on must be a plane. In this paper, we extend Bernstein’s result to complete minimal surfaces in (may be non-complete) ambient spaces of non-negative Ricci curvature carrying a Killing field. This is done under the assumption that the sign of the angle function between a global Gauss map and the Killing field remains unchanged along the surface. In fact, our main result only requires the presence of a homothetic Killing field. L.J. Alías was partially supported by MEC/FEDER project MTM2004-04934-C04-02, F. Séneca project 00625/PI/04, and F. Insertion of lattice-valued functions in a monotone manner is investigated. For L a ⊲-separable completely distributive lattice (i.e. L admits a countable base which is free of supercompact elements), a monotone version of the Katětov-Tong insertion theorem for L-valued functions is established. We also provide a monotone lattice-valued version of Urysohn’s lemma. Both results yield new characterizations of monotonically normal spaces. Moreover, extension of lattice-valued functions under additional assumptions is shown to characterize also monotone normality. We consider the parameter space of all the linear inequality systems, in the n-dimensional Euclidean space and with a fixed index set, endowed with the topology of the uniform convergence of the coefficient vectors. A system is ill-posed with respect to the consistency when arbitrarily small perturbations yield both consistent and inconsistent systems. In this paper, we establish a formula for measuring the distance from the nominal system to the set of ill-posed systems. To this aim, we use the Fenchel-Legendre conjugation theory and prove a refinement of the formula in Ref. 1 for the distance from any point to the boundary of a convex set. This research has been partially supported by grants BFM2002–04114-C02 (01–02) from MEC (Spain) and FEDER (EU) and by grants GV04B-648 and GRUPOS04/79 from Generalitat Valenciana (Spain).  相似文献
