We present main recent results on the generalization of white-noise analysis related to a family of generalized translation operators.

Biholomorphic Functions in Dual Banach Spaces

We present an infinite-dimensional version of Cartan-Carathéodory-Kaup-Wu theorem about the analyticity of the inverse of a given analytic mapping. It is valid for a class of domains in separable Banach dual spaces that includes all bounded convex domains.     

Schur Functions and Their Realizations in the Slice Hyperholomorphic Setting

In this paper we start the study of Schur analysis in the quaternionic setting using the theory of slice hyperholomorphic functions. The novelty of our approach is that slice hyperholomorphic functions allow to write realizations in terms of a suitable resolvent, the so called S-resolvent operator and to extend several results that hold in the complex case to the quaternionic case. We discuss reproducing kernels and positive definite functions in this setting and we show how they can be obtained using the extension operator and the slice hyperholomorphic product. We define Schur multipliers, and find their co-isometric realization in terms of the associated de Branges–Rovnyak space.

Totally Incomparable Banach Spaces and Three-Space Banach Space Ideals

In this paper we present four methods to generate three-space BANACH space ideals. They are based on the concept of total incomparability of H. P. ROSENTHAL and on a dual concept, total coincomparability, which is here introduced. We use the assertion that the sum of two totally incomparable closed subspaces of a BANACH space is norm-closed, which is shown by means of an easier and more natural proof than that of ROSENTHAL [10], and an analogous property about the total coincomparability. Several well-known ideals are obtained with the above methods, and so they are three-space ideals.     

Prox-Regularity of Functions and Sets in Banach Spaces

In this paper, we define the prox-regularity for functions on Banach spaces by adapting the original definition in R ⁿ . In this context, we establish a subdifferential characterization and show that qualified convexly C ^1,+-composite functions and primal lower nice functions belong to this class, as already known in the setting of Hilbert spaces. We also study, in a geometrical point of view, the epigraphs of prox-regular functions. The subdifferential characterization allows us to show that some Moreau-envelope-like regularizations of such functions are of class C ¹ in the context of certain uniformly convex spaces.     

The Schur Algorithm for Generalized Schur Functions II: Jordan Chains and Transformations of Characteristic Functions

 In the first paper of this series (Daniel Alpay, Tomas Azizov, Aad Dijksma, and Heinz Langer: The Schur algorithm for generalized Schur functions I: coisometric realizations, Operator Theory: Advances and Applications 129 (2001), pp. 1–36) it was shown that for a generalized Schur function s(z), which is the characteristic function of a coisometric colligation V with state space being a Pontryagin space, the Schur transformation corresponds to a finite-dimensional reduction of the state space, and a finite-dimensional perturbation and compression of its main operator. In the present paper we show that these formulas can be explained using simple relations between V and the colligation of the reciprocal s(z)⁻¹ of the characteristic function s(z) and general factorization results for characteristic functions. The Generalized Forward-Backward Splitting Method for the Minimization of the Sum of Two Functions in Banach Spaces

We propose a convergence analysis of the generalized forward-backward splitting iterative procedure for the minimization of the sum of two functions in Banach spaces. The generalized forward-backward splitting method is applied to the minimization of functionals of the Tikhonov type with semi-norm regularization. We also investigate the perturbed forward-backward splitting method and prove its stability.

Hypergeometric Functions Related to Schur Q-Polynomials and the BKP Equation

We introduce hypergeometric functions related to projective Schur functions Q and describe their properties. Linear equations, integral representations, and Pfaffian representations are obtained. These hypergeometric functions are vacuum expectations of free fermion fields and are therefore tau functions of the so-called BKP hierarchy of integrable equations.     

Order Structures in Banach Spaces of Analytic Functions

In this paper we consider some Banach spaces of analytic functions on the unit disk generated by the cone of analytic functions with monotone decreasing Taylor coefficients. We get that some of these spaces are Banach lattices with respect to this cone. Different ordered spaces of linear bounded operators acting between the previous spaces are also investigated, with emphasis on the so-called regular multipliers and Hankel operators.

Generalized Interpolation in Bergman Spaces and Extremal Functions

In a recent paper A. Schuster and K. Seip [SchS] have characterized interpolating sequences for Bergman spaces in terms of extremal functions (or canonical divisors). As these are natural analogues in Bergman spaces of Blaschke products, this yields a Carleson type condition for interpolation. We intend to generalize this idea to generalized free interpolation in weighted Bergman spaces B^{p, α} as was done by V. Vasyunin [Va1] and N. Nikolski [Ni1] (cf.also [Ha2]) in the case of Hardy spaces. In particular we get a strong necessary condition for free interpolation in B^{p, α} on zero–sets of B^{p, α}–functions that in the special case of finite unions of B^{p, α}–interpolating sequences turns out to be also sufficient.
