Adsorption microcalorimetry has been employed to study the interaction of ethylene with the reduced and oxidized Pt-Ag/SiO2catalysts with different Ag contents to elucidate the modified effect of Ag towards the hydrocarbon processing on platinum catalysts. In addition, microcalorimetric adsorption of H2, O2, CO and FTIR of CO adsorption were conducted to investigate the influence of Ag on the surface structure of Pt catalyst. It is found from the microcalorimetric results of H2and O2adsorption that the addition of Ag to Pt/SiO2leads to the enrichment of Ag on the catalyst surface which decreases the size of Pt surface ensembles of Pt-Ag/SiO2catalysts. The microcalorimetry and FTIR of CO adsorption indicates that there still exist sites for linear and bridged CO adsorption on the surface of platinum catalysts simultaneously although Ag was incorporated into Pt/SiO2. The ethylene microcalorimetric results show that the decrease of ensemble size of Pt surface sites suppresses the formation of dissociative species (ethylidyne) upon the chemisorption of C2H4on Pt-Ag/SiO2. The differential heat vs. uptake plots for C2H4adsorption on the oxygen-preadsorbed Pt/SiO2and Pt-Ag/SiO2catalysts suggest that the incorporation of Ag to Pt/SiO2could decrease the ability for the oxidation of C2H4.  相似文献

SiO2/TiO2 hybrid nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning and applied for photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB). The phase structure, specific surface area, and surface morphologies of the SiO2/TiO2 hybrid nanofibers were characterized through thermogravimetry (TG), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), etc. XRD measurements indicated that doping of silica into TiO2 nanofibers can delay the phase transition from anatase to rutile and decrease the grain size. SEM and BET characterization proved that silica doping can remarkably enhance the porosity of the SiO2/TiO2 hybrid nanofibers. The MB adsorption capacity and photocatalytic activity of the SiO2/TiO2 hybrid nanofibers were distinguished experimentally. It was found that, although increased silica doping content could enhance the MB adsorption capacity, the intrinsic photocatalytic activity gradually dropped. The SiO2 (10 %)/TiO2 composite nanofibers exhibited the highest MB degradation rate, being superior to SiO2 (20 %)/TiO2 or pure TiO2.  相似文献

The adsorption of atomic oxygen and the mechanism of propylene (C3H6) oxidation to oxide (C3H6O) on an Ag20 tetrahedral cluster were studied using density functional theory. The effects of cluster structure and active site structure on the mechanism of this reaction were considered. The oxidation of C3H6 can occur both on an edge and at the apex of the silver cluster. The C3H6O formation steps on the cluster edge are characterized by lower activation energies.  相似文献

In this paper, geometric bulk parameters, bulk moduli, energy gaps and relative stabilities of the TiO2 anatase and rutile phases were determined from periodic DFT calculations. Then, for the rutile phase, structures, relaxations and surface energies of the (110), (100), (101) and (001) faces were computed. The calculated surface energies are consistent with the natural rutile powder composition, even if a dependence on the number of layers of the slab used to model the surface was identified. Internal constraints, consisting in freezing some internal layers of the slab to atomic bulk positions, were thus added to mimic the bulk hardness in order to stabilise the computed surface energies for thinner systems. In parallel, the influence of pseudopotentials was studied and it appears that four valence electrons for titanium atoms are sufficient. The aim of this study was to optimise accurate rutile TiO2 surface models that will be used in further calculations to investigate water and uranyl ion sorption mechanisms.  相似文献

The influence of NH3-treating temperature on the visible light photocatalytic activity of N-doped P25-TiO2 as well as the relationship between the surface composition structure of TiO2 and its visible light photocatalytic activity were investigated. The results showed that N-doped P25-TiO2 treated at 600°C had the highest activity. The structure of P25-TiO2 was converted from anatase to rutile at 700°C. Moreover, no N-doping was detected at the surface of P25-TiO2. There was no simply linear relationship between the visible light photocatalytic activity and the concentration of doped nitrogen, and visible light absorption. The visible light photocatalytic activity of N-doped P25-TiO2 was mainly influenced by the synergistic action of the following factors: (i) the formation of the single-electron-trapped oxygen vacancies (denoted as Vo·); (ii) the doped nitrogen on the surface of TiO2; (iii) the anatase TiO2 structure.  相似文献

The dispersion state and catalytic properties of anatase-supported vanadia species are studied by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), laser Raman spectroscopy (LRS), H2 temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and the selective oxidation of o-xylene to phthalic anhydride. The almost identical values of the experimental dispersion capacity of V2O5 on anatase and the surface vacant sites available on the preferentially exposed (001) plane of anatase suggest that the highly dispersed vanadium cations are bonded to the vacant sites on the surface of anatase as derived by the incorporation model. When the loading amount of V2O5 is far below its dispersion capacity, the dispersed vanadia species might mainly consist of isolated VOx species bridging to the surface through V-O-Ti bonds. With the increase of V2O5 loading the isolated vanadia species interact with their nearest neighbors (either isolated or polymerized vanadia) through bridging V-O-V at the expenses of V-O-Ti bonds, resulting in the increase of the ratio of polymerized to isolated vanadia species and the decrease of the reactivity of the associated surface oxygen anions and, consequently, although the activity increases with loading to reach a maximum value, the turn over number (TON) of the V2O5/TiO2 catalyst decreases linearly. When the loading amount of V2O5 is higher than its dispersion capacity, the turn over number decreases more rapidly with the increase of V2O5 loading due to the formation of V2O5 crystallites in which the oxygen anions associated with V-O-V bonds are less reactive and only partially exposed on the surface.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline TiO2 powders in the anatase, rutile, and mixed phases prepared by hydrolysis of TiCl4 solution were of ultrafine size (<7.2 nm) with high specific surface areas in the range 167 to 388 m2/g. In the photocatalytic degradation of phenol as model reaction, the photocatalytic properties of TiO2 nanoparticles were evaluated by use of UV–vis absorption spectroscopy and total organic carbon (TOC) content. The synthetic mixed-phase TiO2 powder calcined at 400 °C had higher activity than pure anatase or rutile; it degraded more than 90% phenol to CO2 (evaluated by TOC) after irradiation with near UV light for 90 min at a catalyst loading of 0.4 g/L. The TOC results indicated that rutile TiO2 crystallites of particle size 7.2 nm resulted in much better photocatalytic performance than particles of larger size. This result suggested that some intermediates, not determined by UV–vis absorption spectroscopy, existed in the solution after the photocatalytic process over the rutile TiO2 photocatalysts of larger crystallite size.  相似文献

Coupling TiO2 with a narrow band gap semiconductor acting as the photosensitizer has attracted much attention in solar energy exploitation. In this work, the porous TiO2 film was first formed on the conducting glass plate (CGP) substrate by the decomposition of polyethylene glycol (PEG) mixing in titanium hydroxide sol at 450°C. Then, the TiO2/Ag2Se interface composite film was fabricated by interface reaction of AgNO3 with NaSeSO3 on the activated surface of porous TiO2 film. The results of SEM and XRD analyses indicated that the porous TiO2 layer was made up of the anatase crystal, and the Ag2Se layer was made up of congregative small particles that have low-temperature α-phase structure. Due to its efficient charge separation for the photo-induced electron-hole pairs, the TiO2/Ag2Se interface composite film as-prepared has good photovoltaic property and high photocurrent response for visible light, which have been confirmed by the photoelectrochemical measurements.  相似文献

It is shown that the saturation of an aqueous solution containing silver ions with hydrogen in the presence of 9.5-nm platinum nanoparticles leads to the reduction of silver and the formation of PtcoreAgshell bimetal nanoparticles. An increase in the concentration of silver ions gives rise to a number of elementary silver layers that cover the platinum core. It is established that the concentration of silver ions does not substantially affect the rate of the formation of a silver shell on the surface of platinum nanoparticles.  相似文献

Mixed-phase TiO2 nanopowders with different ratios of anatase and rutile have been successfully synthesized using atmospheric pressure plasma jet driven by dual-frequency power sources. The crystal structures of the TiO2 nanopowders were characterized by X-ray diffraction, SAED, HRTEM, and Raman shift spectroscopy. These results indicated that samples possessed anatase and rutile structure, in addition, the crystallinity of the TiO2 nanopowders increased and the chlorine contamination decreased with discharge RF power increasing. The photocatalytic activity of the TiO2 nanopowders was evaluated by decomposition methylene blue solution. The TiO2 nanopowders which were produced at the discharge RF power of 110 W had the highest photocatalytic activity. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) was used to detect various excited species in the plasma jet. The results indicate that the various RF power significantly changes the intensities of emission lines (Ar, Ar+, Ti, Ti+, Ti2+, Ti3+ and O), which results in the TiO2 nanopowders a mixture of anatase and rutile phases. The nonequilibrium chemical composition could be formed in one step without anneal. It may have potential applications for synthesizing nanosized particles of high crystallinity by reactive nonthermal plasma processing.  相似文献

In this research work, crystalline structure, phase transformation, morphology and mean size of titanium dioxide (TiO2) electrospun nanofibers have been tailored by loading with 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 wt.% of silver (Ag) which was followed by calcination. The as prepared non woven mats of nanofibers were calcinated at 500 °C to allow the reaction moieties to leave the TiO2 matrix and subsequently formation of Ag clusters. The effect of Ag loading and calcination on the transformation of microstructure of these electrospun nanofibers have been characterized by XRD, FESEM, FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy (RS). The mean diameter of Ag loaded nanofibers has been found to decrease upon calcination which was estimated to 70 nm whereas length was in the order of mm range. XRD and RS results have strongly supported the transformation of crystalline phase from rutile (A) to anatase (R) above 2.5 wt.% of Ag loading in TiO2 after calcination. The roughness on the outer surfaces of these nanofibers has been observed to increase with the Ag loading consequent to calcination, which has been attributed to the formation Ag nanoparticles that were found adsorbed at the surfaces. An interesting finding of this study is the existence of 1D nanofibers’ structure even at higher (7.5 wt.%) Ag loading, as observed by the SEM micrographs.  相似文献

The aim of the article is to investigate the influence of particle size on titanium dioxide phase transformations. Nanocrystalline titanium dioxide powder was obtained through a hydrothermal procedure in an aqueous media at high pressure (in the range 25–100 atm) and low temperature (≤200 °C). The as-prepared samples were characterized with respect to their composition by ICP (inductive coupled plasma), structure and morphology by XRD (X-ray diffraction), and TEM (transmission electron microscopy), thermal behavior by TG (thermogravimetry) coupled with DSC (differential scanning calorimetry). Thermal behavior of nanostructured TiO2 was compared with three commercial TiO2 samples. The sequence of brookite–anatase–rutile phase transformation in TiO2 samples was investigated. The heat capacity of anatase and rutile in a large temperature range are reported.  相似文献

The Ag–Ge–Se system was studied in the range of compositions Ag2Se–GeSe2–Se by measuring the EMF of the concentration (relative to the silver electrode) circuits with a solid electrolyte Ag4RbI5 in the temperature range 290–430 K. The polymorphic transition temperature of Ag8GeSe6 (320 K) was determined and the partial molar functions of silver were calculated for both crystal modifications of this compound based on the EMF measurements. The thermodynamic functions of formation and entropy of both modifications of Ag8GeSe6 and the thermodynamic functions of its polymorphic transition were calculated.  相似文献

Pure titania, zirconia, and mixed oxides (3–37 mol.% of ZrO2) are prepared using the sol-gel method and calcined at different temperatures. The calcined samples are characterized by Raman spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and nitrogen adsorption porosimetry. Measurements reveal a thermal stability of the titania anatase phase that slightly increases in the presence of 3–13 mol.% of zirconia. Practically, the titania anatase-rutile phase transformation is hindered during the temperature increase above 700°C. The mixed oxide with 37 mol.% of ZrO2 treated at 550°C shows a new single amorphous phase with a surface area of the nanoparticles double with respect to the other crystalline samples and the formed srilankite structure (at 700°C). The anatase phase is not observed in the sample containing 37 mol.% of ZrO2. The treatment at 700°C causes the formation of the srilankite (Ti0.63Zr0.37Ox) phase.  相似文献

The surface of ceramic electrolyte ZrO2 + 9 mol % Y2O3, hereinafter referred to as YSZ (abbreviated yttria stabilized zirconia), was modified with 0.1 to 0.2 μm oxide films of ZrO2, Y2O3, and YSZ (same composition as substrate) by dip coating in alcohol solutions of the relevant salts and further annealing. The results of scanning electronic microscopy and X-ray diffraction evidence epitaxial film growth. By means of impedance spectroscopy at the temperatures of 500 to 600°C, the effect of YZS electrolyte surface modification with ZrO2, Y2O3, and YSZ films to the polarization resistance of silver electrode was studied.  相似文献

Copper or iron supported on commercially available oxides, such as γ-Al2O3, TiO2 (anatase) and monoclinic tetragonal ZrO2 (mt-ZrO2) were tested as catalysts for selective catalytic oxidation of ammonia into nitrogen and water vapour (NH3-SCO) in the low temperature range. Different commercial oxides were used in this study to determine the influence of the specific surface area, acidic nature of the support and crystalline phases as well as of the type of species and aggregation state of transition metals on the catalytic performance in selective ammonia oxidation. Copper modified oxide supports were found to be more active and selective to nitrogen than catalysts impregnated with iron. Activities of both transition metal modified samples decreased in the following order: mt-ZrO2, TiO2 (anatase), γ-Al2O3. Quantitative total ammonia conversion was achieved with the Cu/ZrO2 catalytic system at 400°C. Characterisation techniques, e.g. H2-temperature programmed reduction, UV-VIS-diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, suggest that easily reducible copper oxide species are important in achieving high catalytic performances at low temperatures.  相似文献

New double mercury silver phosphide iodide Hg12Ag41P88I41 (1) was synthesized and its crystal structure was established. Compound 1 crystallizes in the cubic system. The characteristic feature of the crystal structure 1 is the presence of the anionic cage clusters P11 3−, which have been previously found in alkali metal compounds only. The well-ordered P11 3− clusters form a system of polyhedra, which encapsulate various disordered α-AgI-type fragments. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. The reactivity of specific sites on rutile TiO2(110)-(1×1) surface and anatase TiO2(001)-(1×4) surface has been comparably studied by means of high resolution scanning tunneling microscopy. At the rutile TiO2(110)-(1×1) surface, we find the defects of oxygen vacancy provide distinct reactivity for O2 and CO2 adsorption, while the terminal fivefold-coordinated Ti sites dominate the photocatalytic reactivity for H2O and CH3OH dissociation. At the anatase TiO2(001)-(1×4) surface, the sixfold-coordinated terminal Ti sites at the oxidized surface seem to be inert in both O2 and H2O reactions, but the Ti-rich defects which introduce the Ti3+ state into the reduced surface are found to provide high reactivity for the reactions of O2 and H2O. By comparing the reactions on both rutile and anatase surfaces under similar experimental conditions, we find the reactivity of anatase TiO2(001) is actually lower than rutile TiO2(110), which challenges the conventional knowledge that the anatase (001) is the most reactive TiO2 surface. Our findings could provide atomic level insights into the mechanisms of TiO2 based catalytic and photocatalytic chemical reactions.  相似文献

It is suggested that, for the operation of platinum catalysts based on tin dioxide in air hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen spillover (migration) leading to a change in the electron and proton contributions of the catalyst conductivity is of crucial importance. The hydrogen adsorption, dissociation, and migration in the platinum-tin dioxide-hydrogen system surface have been modeled by the density functional theory method within the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) under periodic conditions using a projector-augmented plane-wave (PAW) basis set with a pseudopotential. It has been demonstrated that the adsorption energy of a hydrogen molecule onto a platinum cluster increases from 1.6 to 2.4 eV as the distance to the SnO2 substrate decreases. The calculated Pt-H bond length for adsorbed structures is 1.58–1.78 Å. The computer modeling has demonstrated that: (1) the hydrogen adsorption energy on clusters is higher than on the perfect platinum surface; (2) dissociative chemisorption onto Pt n clusters can occur without a barrier and depends on the adsorption site and the cluster structure; (3) the adsorption energy of hydrogen onto the SnO2 surface is higher than the adsorption energy onto the platinum cluster surface: (4) multiple H2 dissociation on the tin dioxide surface occurs with a barrier; (5) the dissociation adsorption of hydrogen molecules onto the platinum cluster surface followed by atom migration (spillover) is energetically favorable.  相似文献
