We rederive the bulk viscosity of strange quark matter from the dominant reactionu + s ?d + u by taking the effect of temperature and quark-gluon coupling perturbatively to first order in the chemical composition of the quark matter. We also calculate the contribution from the β-decay processes s(d) →u + e + ¯v andu + e → s(d)+ v and show that this contribution has different temperature dependence and can even be larger than the contribution from the former reaction at temperatures of the order of the electron Fermi energy.  相似文献

We study the bulk viscosity of a pion gas in unitarized Chiral Perturbation Theory at low and moderate temperatures, below any phase transition to a quark-gluon plasma phase.We argue that inelastic processes are irrelevant and exponentially suppressed at low temperatures. Since the system falls out of chemical equilibrium upon expansion, a pion chemical potential must be introduced, so we extend the existing theories that include it. We control the zero modes of the collision operator and Landau?s conditions of fit when solving the Boltzmann equation with the elastic collision kernel.The dependence of the bulk viscosity with temperature is reminiscent of the findings of Fernández-Fraile and Gómez Nicola (2009) [1], while the numerical value is closer to that of Davesne (1996) [2]. In the zero-temperature limit we correctly recover the vanishing viscosity associated to a non-relativistic monoatomic gas.  相似文献

We investigate the effect of a magnetic field on cold dense quark matter using an effective model with four-Fermi interactions. We find that the gap parameters representing the predominant pairing between the different quark flavors show oscillatory behavior as a function of the magnetic field. We point out that due to electric and color neutrality constraints the magnetic fields as strong as presumably existing inside magnetars might induce significant deviations from the gap structure at a zero magnetic field.  相似文献

Starting from the Kubo formula and the QCD low energy theorem, we study the the bulk viscosity of hot dense quark matter in the PNJL model from the equation of state. We show that the bulk viscosity has a sharp peak near the chiral phase transition, and that the ratio of bulk viscosity over entropy rises dramatically in the vicinity of the phase transition. These results agree with those from the lattice and other model calculations. In addition, we show that the increase of chemical potential raises the bulk viscosity.  相似文献

Direct measurements of the bulk flow of a ferrofluid in a uniform rotating magnetic field were obtained using the ultrasonic velocity profile method. The fluid was observed to corotate with the field in a rigid-body-like fashion throughout the bulk of the container, except near the air-fluid interface, where it was observed to counterrotate. The effect of strong magnetic field on the bulk properties of quark matter is reinvestigated takingu, d ands-quarks as well as electrons in the presence of magnetic field. Here the bag pressure is chosen such that in the absence of magnetic field and at zero temperature the binding energy of theuds-system is <930 MeV while that ofud-system is greater than 940 MeV. It is observed that the equation of state changes significantly in a strong magnetic field. At finite temperature the electron chemical potential varies between 6 and 50 MeV. Thus the expansion of thermodynamical quantities in powers ofT/(Μ i 2 -M v (i)2 )1/2 is valid only up to few MeV. For high temperatures ∼40 MeV the exact integral expressions are to be taken.  相似文献

We have studied the bulk viscosity of strange quark matter in the density dependent quark mass model (DDQM) and compared results with calculations done earlier in the MIT bag model where u, d masses were neglected and first order interactions were taken into account. We find that at low temperatures and high relative perturbations, the bulk viscosity is higher by 2 to 3 orders of magnitude while at low perturbations the enhancement is by 1–2 order of magnitude as compared to earlier results. Also the damping time is 2–3 orders of magnitude lower implying that the star reaches stability much earlier than in MIT bag model calculations.  相似文献

The manifestations of axial anomaly and related effects in heavy-ion collisions are considered. Special role is played by various asymmetries. The azimuthal correlational asymmetries of neutron pairs at NICA/FAIR energy range may probe the global rotation of strongly interacting matter. The conductivity is related to the angular asymmetries of dilepton pairs. The strong magnetic field generated in heavy-ion collisions leads to the excess of soft dileptons flying predominantly in the scattering plane.  相似文献

We argue that an expanding quark-gluon plasma has an anomalous viscosity, which arises from interactions with dynamically generated color fields. We derive an expression for the anomalous viscosity in the turbulent plasma domain and apply it to the hydrodynamic expansion phase, when the quark-gluon plasma is near equilibrium. The anomalous viscosity dominates over the collisional viscosity for weak coupling and not too late times. This effect may provide an explanation for the apparent "nearly perfect" liquidity of the matter produced in nuclear collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider without the assumption that it is a strongly coupled state.  相似文献

We consider fermionic dense matter under a magnetic field, where fermions couple minimally to gauge fields, and calculate anomalous currents at one loop. We find anomalous currents are spontaneously generated along the magnetic field but fermions only in the lowest Landau level contribute to anomalous currents. We then show that there are no more corrections to the anomalous currents from two or higher loops.  相似文献

We have measured the rotational viscosity of a concentrated ferrofluid by observing the increase of the first critical angular velocity in a Taylor cell with longitudinal magnetic field. The method is suitable for a very accurate determination of because of the sensitivity of the onset of Taylor instabilities to the effective viscosity of the fluid. 用钕铁硼(NdFeB)永磁材料构建"魔环"结构的永磁体,向直拉硅生长的熔体所在空间引入磁场,采用回转振荡法测量不同磁场强度下硅熔体的有效黏度(磁黏度).在温度一定时,测得的磁黏度随着磁场强度的增加而增加,二者呈抛物线关系.熔硅温度升高,磁场影响加剧.1490—1610℃温度区间内,磁黏度有异常变化.当引入磁场强度为0068T时,熔硅有效黏度比原黏度增加2—3个数量级,证明引入磁场是硅单晶大直径生长时,抑制熔硅热对流的有效手段. 关键词: 硅熔体 有效(磁)黏度 魔环永磁体 回转振荡法  相似文献

We derive an expression relating the transport parameter q and the shear viscosity eta of a weakly coupled quark-gluon plasma. A deviation from this relation can be regarded as a quantitative measure of "strong coupling" of the medium. The ratio T{3}/q, where T is the temperature, is a more broadly valid measure of the coupling strength of the medium than eta/s, where s denotes the entropy density. Different estimates of q derived from existing Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider data are shown to imply radically different structures of the produced matter.  相似文献

In this paper we have extended our earlier studies of solutions of Einstein-Cartan equations to the case where a magnetic field co-exists with the matter distribution. We have obtained an exact solution of Einstein-Cartan-Maxwell equations representing a static cylinder of perfect fluid with an axial magnetic fieldH and a non-zero spin densityK, satisfying the equation of stateρ=γ(p r +p s H 2/4π),γ being a constant. We notice that as a consequence of field equations there exists a direct relation between the pressurep, and the spin densityK, indicating that an increase in pressure would enormously increase the spin density.
