A few metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), which typically use strong acids as proton sources, display superprotonic conductivity (≈10−1 S cm−1); however, they are rare due to the instability of MOFs in highly acidic conditions. For the first time, we report superprotonic conductivity using a moderately acidic guest, zwitterionic sulfamic acid (HSA), which is encapsulated in MOF-808 and MIL-101. HSA acts not only as a proton source but also as a proton-conducting medium due to its extensive hydrogen bonding ability and zwitterion effect. A new sustained concentration gradient method results in higher HSA encapsulation compared to conventional methods, producing 10HSA@MOF-808-(bSA)2 and 8HSA@MIL-101. These MOFs show impressive superprotonic conductivity of 2.47×10−1 and 3.06×10−1 S cm−1, respectively, at 85 °C and 98 % relative humidity, and maintain stability for 7 days.  相似文献

Materials combining proton conductivity and magnetism have attracted great attention in recent years due to their intriguing application in sensors and fuel cells. Herein a two-dimensional metal-organic framework, [Cu(atz)2(H2O)2]⋅H2O ( 1 ) (Hatz=5-aminotetrazole), has been obtained in a green synthesis method. The single-crystal structure revealed that the atz ligands as linkers coordinate with copper ions to sql networks, between which water molecules are immobilized through hydrogen bonds. The resulting complex 1 exhibits a high proton conductivity of 1.11×10−4 and 6.19×10−4 S cm−1 at room temperature and 333 K, respectively, under 98% RH with an activation energy of 0.56 eV. Upon dehydration, the proton conductivity of 1_dg drops by an order of magnitude. Furthermore, the magnetic behavior changes from long-range ferrimagnetic ordering of 1 to canted antiferromagnetic behaviour of 1_dg .  相似文献

Fluoride-based electrolytes in fuel cell applications show a high proton conductivity, and also oxygen ion conductivity in some cases, and a variable stoichiometry in different gas atmospheres/environments. Fuel cell (FC) devices using these fluoride-based materials as electrolytes were studied to characterise their electrical properties when run. The results obtained from the measurements correspond directly to proton and oxygen ion transport in the FC process. A high proton conductivity value, e.g., 10−2 S cm−1, for temperatures above 700°C, corresponds to a FC performance with a current density larger than several hundred mA cm−2, and a peak power density of more than 100 mW cm−2.  相似文献

A porous crystal family has been explored as alternatives of Nafion films exhibiting super‐proton conductivities of ≥10−2 S cm−1. Here, the proton‐conduction natures of a solution‐processed film of nanoparticles (NPs) have been studied and compared to those of a Nafion film. A mono‐particle film of Prussian‐blue NPs is spontaneously formed on a self‐assembled monolayer substrate by a one‐step solution process. A low‐temperature heating process of the densely packed, pinhole‐free mono‐particle NP film enables a maximum 105‐fold enhancement of proton conductivity, reaching ca. 10−1 S cm−1. The apparent highest conductivity, compared to previously reported data of the porous crystal family, remains constant against humidity changes by an improved water‐retention ability of the film. In our proposed mechanism, the high‐performing solution‐processed NP film suggests that heating leads to the self‐restoration of hydrogen‐bonding networks throughout their innumerable grain boundaries.  相似文献

Partially sulfonated poly(aryl ether sulfone) (PESS) was synthesized and methacrylated via reaction with glycidyl methacrylate (PESSGMA) and cross‐linked via radical polymerization with styrene and vinyl‐phosphonic acid (VPA). The chemical structures of the synthesized pre‐polymers were characterized via FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods and molecular weight was determined via GPC. Membranes of these polymers were prepared via solution casting method. The crosslinking of the PESS polymer reduced IEC, proton conductivity, swelling in water, and methanol permeability of the membranes while increasing the modulus and the glass transition temperature. However, the introduction of the VPA comonomer increased the proton conductivity while maintaining excellent resistance to methanol cross‐over, which was significantly higher as compared with both PESS and the commercial Nafion membranes. Membranes of PESSGMA copolymers incorporating VPA, exhibited proton conductivity values at 60 °C in the range of 16–32 mS cm−1 and methanol permeability values in the range of 6.52 × 10−9 – 1.92 × 10−8 cm2 s−1. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this work, the two example rare earth-based metal-organic frameworks (LaIII-based MOFs), Eu-ETTB and Gd-ETTB, were obtained by self-assembly. Both materials showed extremely high proton conductivity, with the proton conductivity of Eu-ETTB being 1.53×10−2 S cm−1 at 98 % relative humidity (RH) and 85 °C and that of Gd-ETTB being 2.63×10−2 S cm−1 at 98 % RH and 75 °C. This was almost the best performance observed for three-dimensional porous MOFs without post-synthetic modification and was based on milder conditions than for most materials. Furthermore, cycle test experiments and continuous work tests showed that both materials had excellent performance both in terms of stability and durability. Water vapor adsorption experiments showed that a large number of water molecules are adsorbed the hydrogen-bond network's being rebuilt by the adsorbed water molecules in the pore channel and thus optimizing the channels for proton transfer explained the MOF's high performance.  相似文献

Proton conductivities of layered solid electrolytes can be improved by minimizing strain along the conduction path. It is shown that the conductivities (σ) of multilayer graphene oxide (GO) films (assembled by the drop‐cast method) are larger than those of single‐layer GO (prepared by either the drop‐cast or the Langmuir‐Blodgett (LB) method). At 60 % relative humidity (RH), the σ value increases from 1×10−6 S cm−1 in single‐layer GO to 1×10−4 and 4×10−4 S cm−1 for 60 and 200 nm thick multilayer films, respectively. A sudden decrease in conductivity was observed for with ethylenediamine (EDA) modified GO (enGO), which is due to the blocking of epoxy groups. This experiment confirmed that the epoxide groups are the major contributor to the efficient proton transport. Because of a gradual improvement of the conduction path and an increase in the water content, σ values increase with the thickness of the multilayer films. The reported methods might be applicable to the optimization of the proton conductivity in other layered solid electrolytes.  相似文献

A new H-bonded crystal [RuIII(Him)3(Im)3] with three imidazole (Him) and three imidazolate (Im) groups was prepared to obtain a higher-temperature proton conductor than a Nafion membrane with water driving. The crystal is constructed by complementary N−H⋅⋅⋅N H-bonds between the RuIII complexes and has a rare Icy-c* cubic network topology with a twofold interpenetration without crystal anisotropy. The crystals show a proton conductivity of 3.08×10−5 S cm−1 at 450 K and a faster conductivity than those formed by only HIms. The high proton conductivity is attributed to not only molecular rotations and hopping motions of HIm frameworks that are activated at ∼113 K, but also isotropic whole-molecule rotation of [RuIII(Him)3(Im)3] at temperatures greater than 420 K. The latter rotation was confirmed by solid-state 2H NMR spectroscopy; probable proton conduction routes were predicted and theoretically considered.  相似文献

The development of solid-state proton conductors with high proton conductivity at low temperatures is crucial for the implementation of hydrogen-based technologies for portable and automotive applications. Here, we report on the discovery of a new crystalline metal acid triphosphate, ZrH5(PO4)3 (ZP3), which exhibits record-high proton conductivity of 0.5–3.1×10−2 S cm−1 in the range 25–110 °C in anhydrous conditions. This is the highest anhydrous proton conductivity ever reported in a crystalline solid proton conductor in the range 25–110 °C. Superprotonic conductivity in ZP3 is enabled by extended defective frustrated hydrogen bond chains, where the protons are dynamically disordered over two oxygen centers. The high proton conductivity and stability in anhydrous conditions make ZP3 an excellent candidate for innovative applications in fuel cells without the need for complex water management systems, and in other energy technologies requiring fast proton transfer.  相似文献

A novel sulfonated diamine, 4,4′‐bis(4‐amino‐3‐trifluoromethylphenoxy) biphenyl 3,3′‐disulfonic acid (F‐BAPBDS), was successfully synthesized by nucleophilic aromatic substitution of 4,4′‐dihydroxybiphenyl with 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride, followed by reduction and sulfonation. A series of sulfonated polyimides of high molecular weight (SPI‐x, x represents the molar percentage of the sulfonated monomer) were prepared by copolymerization of 1,4,5,8‐naphathlenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (NTDA) with F‐BAPBDS and nonsulfonated diamine. Flexible and tough membranes of high mechanical strength were obtained by solution casting and the electrolyte properties of the polymers were intensively investigated. The copolymer membranes exhibited excellent oxidative stability due to the introducing of the CF3 groups. The SPI membranes displayed desirable proton conductivity (0.52×10−1–0.97×10−1 S·cm−1) and low methanol permeability (less than 2.8×10−7 cm2·s−1). The highest proton conductivity (1.89×10−1 S·cm−1) was obtained for the SPI‐90 membrane at 80°C, with an IEC of 2.12 mequiv/g. This value is higher than that of Nafion 117 (1.7×10−1 S·cm−1). Furthermore, the hydrolytic stability of the obtained SPIs is better than the BDSA and ODADS based SPIs due to the hydrophobic CF3 groups which protect the imide ring from being attacked by water molecules, in spite of its strong electron‐withdrawing behaviors.  相似文献

Sulfonated polytriazoles have drawn a great attention as high performance polymers and their good film forming ability. In the present study, a phosphorus containing new diazide monomer namely, bis-[4-(4′-aminophenoxy)phenyl]phenylphosphine was synthesized and accordingly, a series of phosphorus containing sulfonated polytriazoles (PTPBSH-XX) was synthesized by reacting equimolar amount of this diazide monomer (PAZ) in combination with another sulfonated diazide monomer (DSAZ) and a terminal bis-alkyne (BPALK) by the Cu (I) catalyzed azide–alkyne click polymerization. The polymers were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (1H, 13C, 31P NMR) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic techniques. The sulfonic acid content of the copolymers also determined from the different integral values obtained from the 1H NMR signals. The small-angle X-ray scattering results unfolded the well-separated dispersion of the hydrophilic and hydrophobic domains of the polymers. As a whole, the copolymer membranes displayed sufficient thermal, mechanical, and oxidative stabilities high with high proton conductivity and low water uptake that are essential for proton exchange membrane applications. The copolymers exhibited oxidative stability in the range of 15–24 h and had proton conductivity values were found as high as 38–110 mS cm−1 at 80 °C in completely hydrated condition. Among the all copolytriazoles, PTPBSH-90 (BPALK:DSAZ:PAZ = 100:90:10) having IECW = 2.44 mequiv g−1, showed proton conductivity as high as 119 mS cm−1 at 90 °C with an activation energy of 10.40 kJ mol−1 for the proton conduction. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new bisphenol monomer containing a pair of electron‐rich tetra‐arylmethane units was designed and synthesized. Based on this monomer, along with commercial 4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphenol A and 4,4′‐difluorobenzophenone, a series of novel poly(arylene ether ketone)s containing octasulfonated segments of varying molar percentage (x) (6F‐SPAEK‐x) were successfully synthesized by polycondensation reactions, followed by sulfonation. Tough, flexible, and transparent membranes, exhibiting excellent thermal stabilities and mechanical properties were obtained by casting. 6F‐SPAEK‐x samples exhibited appropriate water uptake and swelling ratios at moderate ion exchange capacities (IECs) and excellent proton conductivities. The highest proton conductivity (215 mS cm−1) is observed for hydrated 6F‐SPAEK‐15 (IEC = 1.68 meq g−1) at 100 °C, which is more than 1.5 times that of Nafion 117. Furthermore, the 6F‐SPAEK‐10 membrane exhibited comparable proton conductivity (102 mS cm−1) to that of Nafion 117 at 80 °C, with a relatively low IEC value (1.26 meq g−1). Even under 30% relative humidity, the 6F‐SPAEK‐20 membrane (2.06 meq g−1) showed adequate conductivity (2.1 mS cm−1) compared with Nafion 117 (3.4 mS cm−1). The excellent comprehensive properties of these membranes are attributed to well‐defined nanophase‐separated structures promoted by strong polarity differences between highly ionized and fluorinated hydrophobic segments. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Sulfonated poly (vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (SPVDF-co-HFP) based nanocomposite proton exchange membranes (PEM) are fabricated by simple solution casting method using polydopamine coated exfoliated molybdenum disulfide (PDA-MoS2) nanosheets as an alternative for Nafion® in vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs). PDA-MoS2 is synthesized by the etching of exfoliated MoS2 nanosheets with dopamine molecule by self-polymerization method. Various characteristic results clearly demonstrated that the incorporated PDA-MoS2 nanosheets homogeneously distributed into the SPVDF-co-HFP matrix and the presence of NH/NH2 group electrostatically interacts with SPVDF-co-HFP to form a strong acid-base pair and thus enhances the proton transport via Grotthuss type mechanism. Besides, the improvement in surface hydrophilicity provides the vehicle type conduction also. As a result, SPVDF-co-HFP/PM nanocomposite membranes showed higher proton conductivity in comparison with the pristine membrane. Especially SPVDF-co-HFP/PM-1 membrane demonstrated the excellent proton conductivity of 5.24 × 10−3 Scm−1 at 25 °C, lower vanadium-ion permeability of 1.05 × 10−8 cm2min−1 and highest membrane selectivity of 49.9 × 104 Scm−3min. On the other hand, vanadium-ion stability of the membrane increased by adding the PD-MoS2 content is attributed to their strong electrostatic attraction towards the polymer matrix. Overall results suggested that the SPVDF-co-HFP/PM-1 nanocomposite membrane is found to be a better alternative for commercially costly Nafion in VRFB applications.  相似文献

Vanadium based compounds are promising cathode materials for aqueous zinc (Zn)-ion batteries (AZIBs) due to their high specific capacity. However, the narrow interlayer spacing, low intrinsic conductivity and the vanadium dissolution still restrict their further application. Herein, we present an oxygen-deficient vanadate pillared by carbon nitride (C3N4) as the cathode for AZIBs through a facile self-engaged hydrothermal strategy. Of note, C3N4 nanosheets can act as both the nitrogen source and pre-intercalation species to transform the orthorhombic V2O5 into layered NH4V4O10 with expanded interlayer spacing. Owing to the pillared structure and abundant oxygen vacancies, both the Zn2+ ion (de)intercalation kinetics and the ionic conductivity in the NH4V4O10 cathode are promoted. As a result, the NH4V4O10 cathode delivers exceptional Zn-ion storage ability with a high specific capacity of about 370 mAh g−1 at 0.5 A g−1, a high-rate capability of 194.7 mAh g−1 at 20 A g−1 and a stable cycling performance of 10 000 cycles.  相似文献

Anhydrous silicophosphoric acid glass with an approximate composition of H5Si2P9O29 was synthesized and its thermal and proton-conducting properties were characterized. Despite exhibiting a glass transition at 192 °C, the supercooled liquid could be handled as a solid up to 280 °C owing to its high viscosity. The glass and its melt exhibited proton conduction with a proton transport number of ∼1. Although covalent O−H bonds were weakened by relatively strong hydrogen bonding, the proton conductivity (4×10−4 S cm−1 at 276 °C) was considerably lower than that of phosphoric acid. The high viscosity of the melt was due to the tight cross-linking of phosphate ion chains by six-fold-coordinated Si atoms. The low proton conductivity was attributed to the trapping of positively charged proton carriers around anionic SiO6 units (expressed as (SiO6/2)2−) to compensate for the negative charges.  相似文献

Proton-conducting materials in the solid state have received immense attention for their role as electrolytes in proton-exchange membrane fuel cells. Recently, crystalline materials—metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), polyoxometalates (POMs), and porous organic crystals—have become an exciting research topic in the field of proton-conducting materials. For a better electrolyte, a high proton conductivity on the order of 10−2 S cm−1 or higher is preferred as efficient proton transport between the electrodes is ultimately necessary. With an emphasis on design principles, this Concept will focus on MOFs and other crystalline solid-based proton-conducting platforms that exhibit “ultrahigh superprotonic” conductivities with values in excess of 10−2 S cm−1. While only a handful of MOFs exhibit such an ultrahigh conductivity, this quality in other systems is even rarer. In addition to interpreting the structural–functional correlation by taking advantage of their crystalline nature, we address the challenges and promising directions for future research.  相似文献

Developing new materials for anhydrous proton conduction under high-temperature conditions is significant and challenging. Herein, we create a series of highly crystalline covalent organic frameworks (COFs) via a pore engineering approach. We simultaneously engineer the pore geometry (generating concave dodecagonal nanopores) and pore surface (installing multiple functional groups such as −C=N−, −OH, −N=N− and −CF3) to improve the utilization efficiency and host–guest interaction of proton carriers, hence benefiting the enhancement of anhydrous proton conduction. Upon loading with H3PO4, COFs can realize a proton conductivity of 2.33×10−2 S cm−1 under anhydrous conditions, among the highest values of all COF materials. These materials demonstrate good stability and maintain high proton conductivity over a wide temperature range (80–160 °C). This work paves a new way for designing COFs for anhydrous proton conduction applications, which shows great potential as high-temperature proton exchange membranes.  相似文献

Self‐assembled crystalline porous organic salts (CPOSs) formed by an acid–base combination and with one‐dimensional polar channels containing water molecules have been synthesized. The water content in the channels of the porous salts plays an important role in the proton conduction performance of the materials. The porous salts described in this study feature high proton conductivity at ambient conditions and can reach as high as 2.2×10−2 S cm−1 at 333 K and under high humid conditions. This is among the best conductivity values reported to date for porous materials, for example, metal–organic frameworks and hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks. These materials exhibiting permanent porosity represent a group of porous materials and may find interesting applications in proton‐exchange membrane fuel cells.  相似文献

The design of new solid-state proton-conducting materials is a great challenge for chemistry and materials science. Herein, a new anionic porphyrinylphosphonate-based MOF ( IPCE-1Ni ), which involves dimethylammonium (DMA) cations for charge compensation, is reported. As a result of its unique structure, IPCE-1Ni exhibits one of the highest value of the proton conductivity among reported proton-conducting MOF materials based on porphyrins (1.55×10−3 S cm−1 at 75 °C and 80 % relative humidity).  相似文献
