Organic room‐temperature sodium‐ion battery electrodes with carboxylate and carbonyl groups have been widely studied. Herein, for the first time, we report a family of sodium‐ion battery electrodes obtained by replacing stepwise the oxygen atoms with sulfur atoms in the carboxylate groups of sodium terephthalate which improves electron delocalization, electrical conductivity and sodium uptake capacity. The versatile strategy based on molecular engineering greatly enhances the specific capacity of organic electrodes with the same carbon scaffold. By introducing two sulfur atoms to a single carboxylate scaffold, the molecular solid reaches a reversible capacity of 466 mAh g−1 at a current density of 50 mA g−1. When four sulfur atoms are introduced, the capacity increases to 567 mAh g−1 at a current density of 50 mA g−1, which is the highest capacity value reported for organic sodium‐ion battery anodes until now.  相似文献

The fast-charging capability of rechargeable batteries is greatly limited by the sluggish ion transport kinetics in anode materials. Here we develop an iodized polyacrylonitrile (I-PAN) anode that can boost the bulk/interphase lithium (Li)-ion diffusion kinetics and accelerate Li-ion desolvation process to realize high-performance fast-charging Li-ion batteries. The iodine immobilized in I-PAN framework expands ion transport channels, compresses the electric double layer, and changes the inner Helmholtz plane to form LiF/LiI-rich solid electrolyte interphase layer. The dissolved iodine ions in the electrolyte self-induced by the interfacial nucleophilic substitution of PF6 not only promote the Li-ion desolvation process, but also reuse the plated/dead Li formed on the anode under fast-charging conditions. Consequently, the I-PAN anode exhibits a high capacity of 228.5 mAh g−1 (39 % of capacity at 0.5 A g−1 delivered in 18 seconds) and negligible capacity decay for 10000 cycles at 20 A g−1. The I-PAN||LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 full cell shows excellent fast-charging performance with attractive capacities and negligible capacity decay for 1000 cycles at extremely high rates of 5 C and 10 C (1 C=180 mA g−1). We also demonstrate high-performance fast-charging sodium-ion batteries using I-PAN anodes.  相似文献

Extreme fast charging (XFC) of high-energy Li-ion batteries is a key enabler of electrified transportation. While previous studies mainly focused on improving Li ion mass transport in electrodes and electrolytes, the limitations of charge transfer across electrode–electrolyte interfaces remain underexplored. Herein we unravel how charge transfer kinetics dictates the fast rechargeability of Li-ion cells. Li ion transfer across the cathode–electrolyte interface is found to be rate-limiting during XFC, but the charge transfer energy barrier at both the cathode and anode have to be reduced simultaneously to prevent Li plating, which is achieved through electrolyte engineering. By unlocking charge transfer limitations, 184 Wh kg−1 pouch cells demonstrate stable XFC (10-min charge to 80 %) which is otherwise unachievable, and the lifetime of 245 Wh kg−1 21700 cells is quintupled during fast charging (25-min charge to 80 %).  相似文献

In this work 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic diimide (PTCDI) is investigated as electrode material for organic Na-ion batteries. Since PTCDI is a widely used industrial pigment, it may turn out to be a cost-effective, abundant, and environmentally benign cathode material for secondary Na-ion batteries. Among other carbonyl pigments, PTCDI is especially interesting due to its high Na-storage capacity in combination with remarkable high rate capabilities. The detailed analysis of cyclic voltammetry measurements reveals a diffusion-less mechanism, suggesting that Na-ion storage in the PTCDI film allows for exceptionally fast charging/discharging rates. This finding is further corroborated by galvanostatic sodiation measurements at high rates of 17 C (2.3 A g−1), showing that 57 % of the theoretically possible capacity of PTCDI, or 78 mAh g−1, are attained in only 3.5 min charging time.  相似文献

Lithium ion batteries (LIBs) at present still suffer from low rate capability and poor cycle life during fast ion insertion/extraction processes. Searching for high-capacity and stable anode materials is still an ongoing challenge. Herein, a facile strategy for the synthesis of ultrathin GeS2 nanosheets with the thickness of 1.1 nm is reported. When used as anodes for LIBs, the two-dimensional (2D) structure can effectively increase the electrode/electrolyte interface area, facilitate the ion transport, and buffer the volume expansion. Benefiting from these merits, the as-synthesized GeS2 nanosheets deliver high specific capacity (1335 mAh g−1 at 0.15 A g−1), extraordinary rate performance (337 mAh g−1 at 15 A g−1) and stable cycling performance (974 mAh g−1 after 200 cycles at 0.5 A g−1). Importantly, our fabricated Li-ion full cells manifest an impressive specific capacity of 577 mAh g−1 after 50 cycles at 0.1 A g−1 and a high energy density of 361 Wh kg−1 at a power density of 346 W kg−1. Furthermore, the electrochemical reaction mechanism is investigated by the means of ex-situ high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. These results suggest that GeS2 can use to be an alternative anode material and encourage more efforts to develop other high-performance LIBs anodes.  相似文献

Hierarchical superstructures formed by self‐assembled nanoparticles exhibit interesting electrochemical properties that can potentially be exploited in Li‐ion batteries (LIBs) as possible electrode materials. In this work, we tested two different morphologies of CuS superstructures for electrodes, namely, tubular dandelion‐like and ball‐like assemblies, both of which are composed of similar small covellite nanoparticles. These two CuS morphologies are characterized by their markedly different electrochemical performances, suggesting that their complex structures/morphologies influence the electrochemical properties. At 1.12 A g?1, the cells made with CuS tubular structures delivered about 420 mAh g?1, and at 0.56 A g?1, the capacity was as high as about 500 mAh g?1 with good capacity retention. Their ease of preparation and processing, together with good electrochemical performance, make CuS tubular dandelion‐like clusters attractive for developing low‐cost LIBs based on conversion reactions.  相似文献

To recycle rusty stainless‐steel meshes (RSSM) and meet the urgent requirement of developing high‐performance cathodes for potassium‐ion batteries (KIB), we demonstrate a new strategy to fabricate flexible binder‐free KIB electrodes via transformation of the corrosion layer of RSSM into compact stack‐layers of Prussian blue (PB) nanocubes (PB@SSM). When further coated with reduced graphite oxide (RGO) to enhance electric conductivity and structural stability, the low‐cost, stable, and binder‐free RGO@PB@SSM cathode exhibits excellent electrochemical performances for KIB, including high capacity (96.8 mAh g−1), high discharge voltage (3.3 V), high rate capability (1000 mA g−1; 42 % capacity retention), and outstanding cycle stability (305 cycles; 75.1 % capacity retention).  相似文献

The LiFePO4/carbon fiber (LFP/CF) cathodes were prepared by using activated carbon fiber cloth as current collector in place of conventional Al foil. The electrochemical properties of LFP/CF electrodes were analyzed by the cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge tests. The results indicate that the activated carbon fiber cloth with high specific surface area and high porosity makes the LFP/CF electrode that possesses higher mass loading of 18–21 mg cm–2 and stronger redox reaction ability compared with Al foil-based electrode. The LFP/CF electrode shows excellent rate performance and cycle stability. At 0.1C, the discharge capacity is up to 190.1 mAh g–1 that exceeds the theoretical capacity due to the combination effect of battery and capacitor. Furthermore, the LFP/CF electrode shows an initial capacity of 150.4 mAh g–1 at 1C with a capacity retention of 74.7% after 425 cycles, which is higher than 62.4% for LFP/Al foil electrode, and an initial discharge capacity of 130 mAh g–1 at 5C with a capacity retention of 61.5% after 370 cycles. But this composite electrode is not suitable for charging/discharging at higher rate as 10C due to too much mass loading.  相似文献

Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries are considered to be one of the most promising energy storage systems owing to their high energy density and low cost. However, their wide application is still limited by the rapid capacity fading. Herein, polydopamine (PDA)-coated N-doped hierarchical porous carbon spheres (NPC@PDA) are reported as sulfur hosts for high-performance Li-S batteries. The NPC core with abundant and interconnected pores provides fast electron/ion transport pathways and strong trapping ability towards lithium polysulfide intermediates. The PDA shell could further suppress the loss of lithium polysulfide intermediates through polar–polar interactions. Benefiting from the dual function design, the NPC/S@PDA composite cathode exhibits an initial capacity of 1331 mAh g−1 and remains at 720 mAh g−1 after 200 cycles at 0.5 C. At the pouch cell level with a high sulfur mass loading, the NPC/S@PDA composite cathode still exhibits a high capacity of 1062 mAh g−1 at a current density of 0.4 mA cm−2.  相似文献

This work demonstrates a facile in situ synthesis of cobalt–manganese mixed sulfide (CoMn‐S) nanocages on reduced graphene oxide (RGO) sheets by using a crystalline Co–Mn precursor as the sacrificial template. The CoMn‐S/RGO hybrid was applied as the anode for Li‐ion storage and exhibited superior specific capacity, excellent cycling performance, and great rate capability. In particular, lithium storage testing revealed that the hybrid delivered high discharge–charge capacities of 670 mA h g−1 at 1.0 A g−1 after 400 cycles and 925 mA h g−1 at 0.1 A g−1 after 300 cycles. The outstanding electrochemical performance of CoMn‐S/RGO is attributed to the close entanglement of nanocages with RGO nanosheets achieved by the synthetic method, which greatly improves ion/electron transport along the interfaces and efficiently mitigates volume dilation during lithium reactions. This rational design of both the composition and architecture of mixed metal sulfides can be expanded to other composite systems for high‐capacity Li‐ion batteries and provides a unique insight into the development of advanced hybrid electrode materials.  相似文献

A stable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer is crucial for lithium metal anode (LMA) to survive in long-term cycling. However, chaotic structures and chemical inhomogeneity of natural SEI make LMA suffering from exasperating dendrite growth and severe electrode pulverization, which hinder the practical application of LMAs. Here, we design a catalyst-derived artificial SEI layer with an ordered polyamide-lithium hydroxide (PA-LiOH) bi-phase structure to modulate ion transport and enable dendrite-free Li deposition. The PA-LiOH layer can substantially suppress the volume changes of LMA during Li plating/stripping cycles, as well as alleviate the parasitic reactions between LMA and electrolyte. The optimized LMAs demonstrate excellent stability in Li plating/stripping cycles for over 1000 hours at an ultra-high current density of 20 mA cm−2 in Li||Li symmetric cells. A high coulombic efficiency up to 99.2 % in Li half cells in additive-free electrolytes is achieved even after 500 cycles at a current density of 1 mA cm−2 with a capacity of 1 mAh cm−2.  相似文献

A new type of three-dimensional (3D) oxy-phosphate materials are explored for the application of Li and Na batteries. The molybdenum tungsten oxy phosphate, MoWO3(PO4)2, was synthesized by solid-state method and evaluated for Li/Na insertion/de-insertion electrode material for the first time. The cell at charged state (vs. Li+/Li) showed a discharge capacity of 786 mAh g−1 within the voltage window of 0.3 V with amorphization of crystalline MoWO3(PO4)2 as observed from ex-situ powder XRD analysis. The structural integrity was revealed in this material, even with nearly more than 5 Li+ ions into the lattice, leading to the discharge capacity of 250 mAh g−1. The reversible charge/discharge behavior with insertion/de-insertion of 2.4 Li+ ions in the voltage range of 1.65 − 3.5 V resulted in 110 and 95 mAh g−1 at C/10 and C/5 rates, respectively. On the other hand, poor cycling performance was noticed for Na ion insertion and desertion, with a discharge capacity of 250 mAh/g within the voltage range of 0.3 − 3.5 V (vs. Na+/Na).

Metal–organic framework‐derived NiCo2.5S4 microrods wrapped in reduced graphene oxide (NCS@RGO) were synthesized for potassium‐ion storage. Upon coordination with organic potassium salts, NCS@RGO exhibits an ultrahigh initial reversible specific capacity (602 mAh g?1 at 50 mA g?1) and ultralong cycle life (a reversible specific capacity of 495 mAh g?1 at 200 mA g?1 after 1 900 cycles over 314 days). Furthermore, the battery demonstrates a high initial Coulombic efficiency of 78 %, outperforming most sulfides reported previously. Advanced ex situ characterization techniques, including atomic force microscopy, were used for evaluation and the results indicate that the organic potassium salt‐containing electrolyte helps to form thin and robust solid electrolyte interphase layers, which reduce the formation of byproducts during the potassiation–depotassiation process and enhance the mechanical stability of electrodes. The excellent conductivity of the RGO in the composites, and the robust interface between the electrodes and electrolytes, imbue the electrode with useful properties; including, ultrafast potassium‐ion storage with a reversible specific capacity of 402 mAh g?1 even at 2 A g?1.  相似文献

Direct capture and storage of abundant but intermittent solar energy in electrical energy‐storage devices such as rechargeable lithium batteries is of great importance, and could provide a promising solution to the challenges of energy shortage and environment pollution. Here we report a new prototype of a solar‐driven chargeable lithium–sulfur (Li‐S) battery, in which the capture and storage of solar energy was realized by oxidizing S2? ions to polysulfide ions in aqueous solution with a Pt‐modified CdS photocatalyst. The battery can deliver a specific capacity of 792 mAh g?1 during 2 h photocharging process with a discharge potential of around 2.53 V versus Li+/Li. A specific capacity of 199 mAh g?1, reaching the level of conventional lithium‐ion batteries, can be achieved within 10 min photocharging. Moreover, the charging process of the battery can proceed under natural sunlight irradiation.  相似文献

To solve the problems such as the dissolution and the poor conductivity of organic small molecule electrode materials, we construct π-d conjugated coordination polymer Ni-DHBQ with multiple redox-active centers as lithium storage materials. It exhibits an ultra-high capacity of 9-electron transfers, while the π-d conjugation and the laminar structure inside the crystal ensure fast electron transport and lithium ion diffusion, resulting in excellent rate performance (505.6 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1 after 300 cycles). The interaction of Ni-DHBQ with the binder CMC synergistically inhibits its dissolution and anchors the Ni atoms, thus exhibiting excellent cycling stability (650.7 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1 after 100 cycles). This work provides insight into the mechanism of lithium storage in π-d conjugated coordination polymers and the synergistic effect of CMC, which will contribute to the molecular design and commercial application of organic electrode materials.  相似文献

Selenium (Se) is an element in the same main group as sulfur and is characterized by high electrical conductivity and large capacity (675 mAh g−1). Herein, a novel ultra-high dispersion amorphous selenium graphene composite (a-Se/rGO) was synthesized and a selenium nanorods graphene composite (b-Se/rGO) was prepared by hydrothermal method as the cathode material for all solid-state lithium−selenium (Li−Se) batteries, hoping to improve the efficiency and utilization rate of active substances in all solid-state batteries. The all-solid-state batteries were assembled using a heated thawing electrolyte (2LiIHPN−LiI; HPN=3-hydroxypropionitrile). The utilization rate of a-Se/rGO was 103 % and the capacity was 697 mAh g−1, which remained at 281 mAh g−1 (41.6 % of the 675 mAh g−1) after 30 cycles under 0.5 C. Notably, a-Se/rGO showed excellent performance concerning its utilization rate, with a capacity of up to 610 mAh g−1 at 2 C, due to the high availability of amorphous Se and the special properties of the electrolytes. However, in the charge and discharge cycles, the second discharge capacity of a-Se/rGO was more significantly attenuated than that of the first discharge due to the formation of larger crystals of selenium during the charging process. The battery assembled using b-Se/rGO maintained a capacity of 270.58 mAh g−1 after 30 cycles (the retention rate of discharge capacity was 66.13 % compared with that in the first cycle). Through TEM and other relevant tests, it is speculated that amorphous selenium is conducive to capacity release, which, however, is affected by the formation of crystalline selenium after the first charge process.  相似文献

Monolayer, bilayer, and bulk BSi are studied to explore their application potential as anode materials of Li-ion batteries. Structural stability and metallicity are obtained in each case. The Li storage capacities of monolayer and bilayer BSi are 1378 and 689 mAh g−1, respectively, with average open circuit voltages of 1.30 and 0.47 V as well as Li diffusion barriers of 0.48 and 0.27 eV. Bulk BSi realizes a layered structure in the presence of a small amount of Li and its Li diffusion barrier of 0.48 eV is identical to that of graphite and lower than that of bulk Si (0.58 eV). The Li storage capacity of bulk BSi is found to be 689 mAh g−1, i. e., much higher than that of graphite (372 mAh g−1). The volume expansion turns out to be 33 % and the chemical bonds remain intact at full lithiation, outperforming the 72 % volume expansion of bulk Si at the same capacity and thus pointing to excellent cyclability.  相似文献

Dual-ion batteries (DIBs) have attracted much attention owing to their low cost, high voltage, and environmental friendliness. As the source of active ions during the charging/discharging process, the electrolyte plays a critical role in the performance of DIBs, including capacity, energy density, and cycling life. However, most used electrolyte systems based on the LiPF6 salt demonstrate unsatisfactory performance in DIBs. We have successfully developed a 7.5 mol kg−1 lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI) in a carbonate electrolyte system. Compared with diluted electrolytes, this highly concentrated electrolyte exhibits several advantages: 1) enhanced intercalation capacity and cycling stability of the graphite cathode, 2) optimized structural stability of the Al anode, and 3) significantly increased battery energy density. A proof-of-concept DIB based on this concentrated electrolyte exhibits a discharge capacity of 94.0 mAh g−1 at 200 mA g−1 and 96.8 % capacity retention after 500 cycles. By counting both the electrode materials and electrolyte, the energy density of this DIB reaches up to ≈180 Wh kg−1, which is among the best performances of DIBs reported to date.  相似文献

Highly porous reticular Li2O/CoO composite thin films fabricated by electrostatic spray deposition were investigated by using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, galvanostatic cell-cycling measurements, and AC impedance spectroscopy measurements. The results of the electrochemical tests indicate that the initial coulombic efficiency and capacity retention are dependent on Li2O content and the specific surface area of the deposited layer. Irrespective of the type of substrate, the electrode gave the best electrochemical performance when the molar ratio of Li to Co was controlled at 1:1. At the optimal composition, at 0.2 C the initial coulombic efficiency was as high as 81.9 % and 83.6 % for the film on Cu foil and on porous Ni, respectively. The Li2O/CoO (Li/Co=1:1) films on Ni foam and Cu foil had sustained capacities of up to 790 and 715 mAh g−1, respectively, at a rate of 1 C over 100 cycles at 25 °C. Similar cycling experiments carried out at 70 °C showed that the capacity is temperature-sensitive, and it exhibited reversible capacities as high as 1018 (Cu foil) and 1269 mAh g−1 (Ni foam) for up to 100 cycles. The thin-film electrodes on Ni foam always performed better than those on Cu foil. Cycling at elevated temperature (70 °C) also resulted in a significant increase in capacity.  相似文献

To optimize the cycle life and rate performance of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), ultra-fine Fe2O3 nanowires with a diameter of approximately 2 nm uniformly anchored on a cross-linked graphene ribbon network are fabricated. The unique three-dimensional structure can effectively improve the electrical conductivity and facilitate ion diffusion, especially cross-plane diffusion. Moreover, Fe2O3 nanowires on graphene ribbons (Fe2O3/GR) are easily accessible for lithium ions compared with the traditional graphene sheets (Fe2O3/GS). In addition, the well-developed elastic network can not only undergo the drastic volume expansion during repetitive cycling, but also protect the bulk electrode from further pulverization. As a result, the Fe2O3/GR hybrid exhibits high rate and long cycle life Li storage performance (632 mAh g−1 at 5 A g−1, and 471 mAh g−1 capacity maintained even after 3000 cycles). Especially at high mass loading (≈4 mg cm−2), the Fe2O3/GR can still deliver higher reversible capacity (223 mAh g−1 even at 2 A g−1) compared with the Fe2O3/GS (37 mAh g−1) for LIBs.  相似文献
