In this paper we consider the Gross-Pitaevskii equation iu t = Δu + u(1 − |u|2), where u is a complex-valued function defined on \Bbb RN×\Bbb R{\Bbb R}^N\times{\Bbb R} , N ≥ 2, and in particular the travelling waves, i.e., the solutions of the form u(x, t) = ν(x 1ct, x 2, …, x N ), where c ? \Bbb Rc\in{\Bbb R} is the speed. We prove for c fixed the existence of a lower bound on the energy of any non-constant travelling wave. This bound provides a non-existence result for non-constant travelling waves of fixed speed having small energy.  相似文献

For a Noetherian local domain R let R + be the absolute integral closure of R and let R be the perfect closure of R, when R has prime characteristic. In this paper we investigate the projective dimension of residue rings of certain ideals of R + and R . In particular, we show that any prime ideal of R has a bounded free resolution of countably generated free R -modules. Also, we show that the analogue of this result is true for the maximal ideals of R +, when R has residue prime characteristic. We compute global dimensions of R + and R in some cases. Some applications of these results are given.  相似文献

If P and P are symplectic polydisks of radii R 1≤...≤R n and R 1 ≤...≤R n , respectively, then we prove that P symplectically embeds in P provided that C(n)R 1R 1 and C(n)R 1...R n R 1 ...R n . Up to a constant factor, these conditions are optimal.  相似文献

The paper considers a boundary value problem with the help of the smallest closed extensionL :H kH k 0×B h 1×...×B h N of a linear operatorL :C (0) (R + n ) →L(R + n L(R n−1)×...×L(R n−1). Here the spacesH k (the spaces ℬ h ) are appropriate subspaces ofD′(R + n ) (ofD′(R n−1), resp.),L(R + n ) andC (0) (R + n )) denotes the linear space of smooth functionsR n C, which are restrictions onR + n of a function from the Schwartz classL (fromC 0 , resp.),L(R n−1) is the Schwartz class of functionsR n−1C andL is constructed by pseudo-differential operators. Criteria for the closedness of the rangeR(L ) and for the uniqueness of solutionsL U=F are expressed. In addition, ana priori estimate for the corresponding boundary value problem is established.  相似文献

IBN rings and orderings on grothendieck groups   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
LetR be a ring with an identity element.R∈IBN means thatR m⋟Rn impliesm=n, R∈IBN 1 means thatR m⋟Rn⊕K impliesm≥n, andR∈IBN 2 means thatR m⋟Rm⊕K impliesK=0. In this paper we give some characteristic properties ofIBN 1 andIBN 2, with orderings on the Grothendieck groups. In addition, we obtain the following results: (1) IfR∈IBN 1 and all finitely generated projective leftR-modules are stably free, then the Grothendieck groupK 0(R) is a totally ordered abelian group. (2) If the pre-ordering of the Grothendieck groupK 0(R) of a ringR is a partial ordering, thenR∈IBN 1 orK 0(R)=0. Supported by National Nature Science Foundation of China.  相似文献

We denote by ℳ R n the test neighbourhood sufficient to extract the Euclidean Medial Axis of any n-dimensional discrete shape whose inner radius is no greater than R. In this paper, we study properties of discrete Euclidean disks overlappings so as to prove that in any given dimension n, ℳ R n tends to the set of visible vectors as R tends to infinity.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that the injective cover of theR-moduleE(R/B)/R/B for a prime ideal B ofR is the direct sum of copies ofE(R/B) for prime ideals D ⊃ B, and if B is maximal, the injective cover is a finite sum of copies ofE(R/B). For a finitely generatedR-moduleM withn generators andG an injectiveR-module, we argue that the natural mapG nG n/Hom R (M, G) is an injective precover if Ext R 1 (M, R) = 0, and that the converse holds ifG is an injective cogenerator ofR. Consequently, for a maximal ideal R ofR, depthR R ≧ 2 if and only if the natural mapE(R/R) →E(R/R)/R/R is an injective cover and depthR R > 0.  相似文献

We prove the existence of a classical weak solution for the 2-D incompressible Euler equations with initial vorticity ω00 + ω 0 , where ω 0 is inL 1(R 2)⌢H −1(R 2), compactly supported, and ω 0 is a compactly supported positive Radon measure inH −1(R 2).  相似文献

Exact wave solutions for particles with spin 0, 1/2 and 1 in the static coordinates of the de Sitter space–time model are examined in detail. Firstly, for scalar particle, two pairs of linearly independent solutions are specified explicitly: running and standing waves. A known algorithm for calculation of the reflection coefficient Rej{R_{\epsilon j}} on the background of the de Sitter space–time model is analyzed. It is shown that the determination of Rej{R_{\epsilon j}} requires an additional constrain on quantum numbers er/ (h/2p) c >> j{\epsilon \rho / \hbar c \gg j}, where ρ is a curvature radius. When taken into account of this condition, the Rej{R_{\epsilon j}} vanishes identically. It is claimed that the calculation of the reflection coefficient Rej{R_{\epsilon j}} is not required at all because there is no barrier in an effective potential curve on the background of the de Sitter space–time. The same conclusion holds for arbitrary particles with higher spins, it is demonstrated explicitly with the help of exact solutions for electromagnetic and Dirac fields.  相似文献

A finite module M over a noetherian local ring R is said to be Gorenstein if Exti(k, M) = 0 for all i ≠ dim R. An endomorphism φ: RR of rings is called contracting if for some i ≥ 1. Letting φR denote the R-module R with action induced by φ, we prove: A finite R-module M is Gorenstein if and only if HomR(φR, M) ≅ M and ExtiR(φR, M) = 0 for 1 ≤ i ≤ depth R. Suppose thatB R d is a ball of radiusR in ℂ d and σ is the standard measure on the unit sphere in ℂ d . ForR>1, 1≤p≤∞, and for the natural numbersl, d, byH R 0 (l, p, d) we denote the class of functionsf holomorphic inB R d and such that in the homogeneous polynomial expansion of the firstl summands the zero and radial derivatives of orderl belong to the closed unit ball of the Hardy spaceH p (B R d ). In this paper an asymptotic formula for the ε-entropy of the classH R 0 (l, p, d) in the spacesL p (σ), 1≤p<∞, and is obtained. For fixed 1≦p<∞ theL p-semi-norms onR n are identified with positive linear functionals on the closed linear subspace ofC(R n ) spanned by the functions |<ξ, ·>| p , ξ∈R n . For every positive linear functional σ, on that space, the function Φσ:R n R given by Φσ is anL p-semi-norm and the mapping σ→Φσ is 1-1 and onto. The closed linear span of |<ξ, ·>| p , ξ∈R n is the space of all even continuous functions that are homogeneous of degreep, ifp is not an even integer and is the space of all homogeneous polynomials of degreep whenp is an even integer. This representation is used to prove that there is no finite list of norm inequalities that characterizes linear isometric embeddability, in anyL p unlessp=2. Let Ω be an open and bounded subset ofR n with locally Lipschitz boundary. We prove that the functionsv∈SBV(Ω,R m ) whose jump setS vis essentially closed and polyhedral and which are of classW k, ∞ (S v,R m) for every integerk are strongly dense inGSBV p(Ω,R m ), in the sense that every functionu inGSBV p(Ω,R m ) is approximated inL p(Ω,R m ) by a sequence of functions {v k{j∈N with the described regularity such that the approximate gradients ∇v jconverge inL p(Ω,R nm ) to the approximate gradient ∇u and the (n−1)-dimensional measure of the jump setsS v j converges to the (n−1)-dimensional measure ofS u. The structure ofS v can be further improved in casep≤2.

In this paper, we get a necessary and sufficient condition on the weights (μ,v) for the Poisson integral operator to be bounded fromL Φ(R n, v(x)dx) to weak-L Φ(R + n+1 ,dμ), where Φ is anN-function satisfying the Δ2-condition. We also find a necessary and sufficient condition on the weights (μ,v) for the Poisson integral operator to be bounded fromL Φ(R n,v(x)dx) toL Φ(R + n+1 ,dμ) under some additional condition. LetR be an integral domain whose quotient field is an algebraic number field. Cooke and Weinberger [4] showed that, assuming the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis, ifR is a principal ideal domain and has infinite unit group, thenR is 4-stage Euclidean with the absolute value of the norm as algorithm. We remove the assumption of the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis from this result for totally real Galois extensions of ℚ of degree greater than or equal to three, replacing it with the requirement of finding sufficiently many prime elements ofR, ℚ such that the unit group ofR maps onto (R/((π1⋯π r )2))* via the reduction map. A similar result holds for real quadratic fields.  相似文献

Summary Suppose we have two independent experiments conducted with a set of ‘t’ treatments each, at different places. This paper deals with two interesting problems of testing of hypotheses associated with these experiments. The first problem deals with the test of the equality of the respective treatment effects in the two experiments. The second problem is concerned with the testing of the equality of treatment into places interactions. Though we assume normality, the variance σ 1 2 in one experiment is assumed different from the variance σ 2 2 in the other experiment. When no information is available aboutR1 2 /(σ 1 22 2 ) except that 0≦R≦1, tests known as ‘bilateral tests’ are proposed in the literature, to test the hypotheses mentioned above. This paper studies some important small sample properties of these bilateral tests. More specifically we study the probability of the first and second kind of error of these bilateral tests as a function ofR. When the two experiments have the same number of observations on each treatment, the bilateral test is shown to control the first kind of error. Fort=1,2, the level of these tests is a strictly convex function ofR and hence these tests can be very conservative. Some power properties of these tests are also obtained. Two tests which are equivalent to the bilateral tests for large sample sizes, and which are superior to the bilateral tests for small sample sizes, are obtained.  相似文献

The paper deals with the structure of intermediate subgroups of the general linear group GL(n, k) of degree n over a field k of odd characteristic that contain a nonsplit maximal torus related to a radical extension of degree n of the ground field k. The structure of ideal nets over a ring that determine the structure of intermediate subgroups containinga transvection is given. Let K = k( n?{d} ) K = k\left( {\sqrt[n]{d}} \right) be a radical degree-n extension of a field k of odd characteristic, and let T =(d) be a nonsplit maximal torus, which is the image of the multiplicative group of the field K under the regular embedding in G =GL(n, k). In the paper, the structure of intermediate subgroups H, THG, that contain a transvection is studied. The elements of the matrices in the torus T = T (d) generate a subring R(d) in the field k.Let R be an intermediate subring, R(d) ⊆ Rk, dR. Let σR denote the net in which the ideal dR stands on the principal diagonal and above it and all entries of which beneath the principal diagonal are equal to R. Let σR denote the net in which all positions on the principal diagonal and beneath it are occupied by R and all entries above the principal diagonal are equal to dR. Let ER) be the subgroup generated by all transvections from the net group GR). In the paper it is proved that the product TER) is a group (and thus an intermediate subgroup). If the net σ associated with an intermediate subgroup H coincides with σR,then TER) ≤ HNR),where NR) is the normalizer of the elementary net group ER) in G. For the normalizer NR),the formula NR)= TGR) holds. In particular, this result enables one to describe the maximal intermediate subgroups. Bibliography: 13 titles.  相似文献

Let m be a v-moderate function defined on R d and let gL 2(R d ). In this work, we defineΩ m p (R d ) to be the vector space of fL m 2 (R d ) such that the Gabor transform V f belongs to L p (R 2d ), where 1 ≤ p < ∞. We equip it with a norm and show that it is a Banach space with this norm. We also study some preliminary properties of Ω m p (R d ). We also discuss inclusion properties and obtain the dual space of Ω m p (R d ). At the end of this work, we study multipliers from L w 1 (R d ) into Ω w p (R d ) and from Ω w p (R d ) into L w−1 (R d ), where w is the Beurling weight function. Let K be any commutative field and V:=K 4. A collection of ruled quadrics in V is called a flock of ruled quadrics if the following holds true. (1) ⋃ℱ∈ G ℱ = V; (2) There is a line SV such that ℱ1⋂ℱ2= S for all distinct ℱ1, ℱ2∈ . The group ΓL(V) decomposes the set of all those flocks into equivalence classes. Besides that, we consider any cone R in V, say R:= {xV|x 1 x 3 - x 2 2 = 0}. Let R denote the set of all regular points of R. Plane sections of R which do not contain the singular point of ℜ are called regular sections. We consider decompositions of R * by regular sections and their equivalence classes with respect to the symmetry group ΓL(V)R of the cone ℜ. The main result is as follows. There is a (natural) bijection between the classes of equivalent flocks of rules quadrics and the classes of equivalent decompositions of R * by regular sections. A brief discussion of those flocks of ruled quadrics on which the construction of the so-called Betten-Walker planes is based ends the paper. Provided that char K≠3, these planes exist if and only if xKx 3K is bijective.   相似文献
