Photoluminescent Eu(III) compounds with anions of the acid 3-CF3C6F4COOH (LH) of composition Eu(L)3·2H2O and Eu(phen)(L)3 were synthesized. The photoluminescence intensity of the complex Eu(phen)(L)3 is higher than that of a similar Eu(III) complex containing anions of the acid 4-CF3C6F4COOH as ligands.  相似文献

The extraction of Sm(III), Dy(III) and Tm(III) with N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxalamine (BPHA) in benzene at pH range (1–10) has been studied. Quantitative separation was found in borate media at pH 8. The slope analysis showed that the extracted complex was M(BPHA)3, where M=Sm(III), Dy(III) and Tm(III). The effect of various masking agents indicated that EDTA, oxalate, fluoride, phosphate and citrate, interfered in this study. Decontamination study showed that Cu(II), Zn(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Cr(III), Sc(III) and Fe(III) had very poor separation factors, whereas Sn(II), Cd(II), In(III), Ru(II), Hg(II), Ag(I), Ta(V) and Hf(IV) had very large separation factor. The effect of different diluents showed that carbontetrachloride, chloroform, benzene, toluene, nitrobenzene dichloromethane, MIBK and cyclohexanone were equally good for extraction except TBP due to ion association.  相似文献

The synthesis of a new ligand (1) containing a single phenanthroline (phen) chromophore and a flexibly connected diethylenetriamine tetracarboxylic acid unit (DTTA) as a lanthanide (Ln) coordination site is reported [1 is 4-[(9-methyl-1,10-phenantrol-2-yl)methyl]-1,4,7-triazaheptane-1,1,7,7-tetraacetic acid]. From 1, an extended series of water-soluble Ln.1 complexes was obtained, where Ln is Eu(III), Tb(III), Gd(III), Sm(III), Dy(III), Pr(III), Ho(III), Yb(III), Nd(III), and Er(III). The stoichiometry for the association was found 1:1, with an association constant K(A) > or = 10(7) s(-1) as determined by employing luminescence spectroscopy. The luminescence and photophysical properties of the series of lanthanide complexes were investigated in both H2O and D2O solutions. High efficiencies for the sensitized emission, phi(se), in air-equilibrated water were observed for the Ln.1 complexes of Eu(III) and Tb(III) in the visible region (phi(se) = 0.24 and 0.15, respectively) and of Sm(III), Dy(III), Pr(III), Ho(III), Yb(III), Nd(III), and Er(III) in the vis and/or near-infrared region [phi(se) = 2.5 x 10(-3), 5 x 10(-4), 3 x 10(-5), 2 x 10(-5), 2 x 10(-4), 4 x 10(-5), and (in D2O) 4 x 10(-5), respectively]. For Eu.1 and Tb.1, luminescence data for water and deuterated water allowed us to estimate that no solvent molecules (q) are bound to the ion centers (q = 0). Luminescence quenching by oxygen was investigated in selected cases.  相似文献

New solid amorphous compounds of Ce(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), and Sm(III) with 5,7-dihydroxyflavone (L,chrysin) were obtained. Their composition and some physicochemical properties were studied by elementary analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, magnetic measurements, 1H NMR, UV/Vis, and infrared spectroscopies. Upon heating, the hydrated compounds [LnL2(H2O)2Cl]·2H2O decomposed to the oxides. Structure of the compounds was elucidated on the basis of obtained results. It was found that chelation of the metal ion occurs at the 5-hydroxy-4-keto site.  相似文献

Binuclear complexes of Sm(III), Eu(III), Gd(III), Tb(III), and Dy(III) nitrates with 4,4,10,10-tetramethyl-1,3,7,9-tetraazospiro[5.5]undecane-2,8-dione (C11H20N4O2, SC)—[Sm(NO3)3(SC)(H2O)]2(I), [Eu(NO3)3(SC)(H2O)]2 (II), [Gd(NO3)2(SC)(H2O)3)]2(NO3)2 (III), [Tb(NO3)3(SC)(H2O)]2 (IV), [Dy(NO3)3(SC)(H2O)]2 (V), are synthesized, and their X-ray diffraction analyses are carried out. The crystals of complexes I–V are monoclinic: space group P21/n for III and P21/c for I, II, IV, and V. In centrosymmetric coordination complexes II, III, IV, and V, the Ln atoms are coordinated by two O(1) and O(2) atoms of two molecules of the SC ligands bound by a symmetry procedure (1 ? x, ?y, 1 ? z), three bidentate nitrate anions, and a water molecule. The coordination numbers of the metal atoms are equal to 9, and the coordination polyhedra are considerably distorted three-capped trigonal prisms, whose bases include the O(1), O(2), O(12) and O(3), O(7), O(9) atoms. The dihedral angle between the bases of the prism is 18°, and that between the mean planes of the side faces is 55°–71° for I, 17° and 55°–71° for II, 16° and 55°–70° for IV, and 16° and 55°–70° for V. The Sm...Sm distance in complex I is 9.44 Å, Eu...Eu in II is 9.42 Å, Tb...Tb in IV is 9.36Å, and Dy...Dy in V is 9.36Å. The gadolinium atom in complex III is coordinated by two oxygen atoms of two ligand molecules bound by a symmetry procedure (?x, ?y + 1, ?z + 1), two bidentate nitrate anions, and three water molecules. One of the nitro groups in compound III is localized in the external coordination sphere of the metal. The coordination number of gadolinium is 9, and the coordination polyhedron is a significantly distorted three-capped trigonal prism, whose base includes the O(1), O(2), O(7) and O(4), O(5), O(9) atoms. The dihedral angle between the bases of the prism is 22.8°, and that between the mean planes of the side faces is 53°–72°. The Gd...Gd distance in complex III is 9.17 Å.  相似文献

Summary The luminescence quantum efficiency of Eu(III), Tb(III) and Dy(III) in chloride solutions as well as complexed by aminopolyacetic acids was determined. An interpretation of the observed dependences in the system investigated has been proposed.

In particular, the validity of the experimental criterion used to calculate this frequency inside the deconvolutive calculus is studied. The luminescence method, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis are used to reveal that under optimal conditions (pH 5–8) Ln3+ ions (Ln = Pr, Sm, Eu, Nd, and Yb) with 1-(2-hydroxy-4-methylphenyl)-3-(5-methyl-1-phenyl-1 H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)propane-1,3-dione form complexes with the mole ratio Ln: ligand = 2: 3. According to the IR spectral data, Ln3+ ions coordinate three oxygen atoms of two carbonyl groups and one hydroxyl group. In the IR spectra of the complexes, an intense band at 628.7 cm?1 is assigned to the Ln-O bond vibrations. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the complexes contain no lines corresponding to the ligand. The luminescence intensity of the complexes in the visible spectral range changes in the series Eu(III) > Sm(III) > Pr(III), whereas in the IR region the order is Yb(III) > Nd(III). In all cases, luminescence of the solid complexes is considerably more intense than that of their solutions.  相似文献

Two new photoluminescent compounds with the formulas of [Eu(2)(adipate)(3)(H(2)O)].H(2)O (1) and [Eu(2)(adipate)(3)(4H(2)O)] (2) were synthesized by using Eu(III) chloride and adipic acid under hydrothermal reaction conditions in aqueous solution. Compound 1, a 3-D layered framework, possesses infinite Eu-O-Eu polyhedral chains and self-assembled adipate ligands between Eu-O layers. Compound 2 has dimeric Eu(2)O(16) units interconnected by adipate ligand, resulting in 2-D open frameworks with a cavity among the ligands. Crystal data 1: monoclinic space group C2/c, with a = 14.2486(12) A, b = 8.2733(7) A, c = 39.298(2) A, beta = 99.530(6) degrees, and Z = 8. 2: monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, with a = 11.661(4) A, b = 14.011(3) A, c = 9.013(4) A, beta = 110.87(3) degrees, and Z = 2. The ligand conformations of two Eu(III)-adipate (1 and 2) compounds present anti/anti/anti, gauche/anti/gauche, and intermediate forms. Both compounds 1 and 2 showed strong red luminescence upon excitation, and their luminescence decay involves the multiphonon relaxation mechanism.  相似文献

Two rare earth coordination compounds with 2,4,6-pyridinetricarboxylic acid (H3pta) have been synthesized by the hydrothermal method; the formula is {[RE(pta)(H2O)3]?·?H2O} n [RE?=?Sm (1) and Dy (2)]. Complexes 1 and 2 are crystallized in the monoclinic crystal system with P21/c space group. X-ray structure analyses show the two complexes have the same structure. Each pta3? connects three rare earth ions. Both the Sm(III) and Dy(III) complexes exhibit characteristic luminescence in the visible region upon excitation with UV-rays.  相似文献

The interaction of lanthanide(III) cations (Ln(III) = Sm(III), Eu(III), and Tb(III)) with the deprotonated form of the coumarin-3-carboxylic acid (cca-) has been investigated by density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) and confirmed by reference MP2 and CCSD(T) computations. Solvent effects on the geometries and stabilities of the Ln(III) complexes were computed using a combination of water clusters and a continuum solvation model. The following two series of systems were considered: (i) Ln(cca)2+, Ln(cca)2+, Ln(cca)3 and (ii) Ln(cca)(H2O)2Cl2, Ln(cca)2(H2O)2Cl, Ln(cca)3. The strength and character of the Ln(III)-cca- bidentate bonding were characterized by calculated Ln-O bond lengths, binding energies, ligand deformation energies, energy partitioning analysis, sigma-donation contributions, and natural population analyses. The energy decomposition calculations predicted predominant electrostatic interaction terms to the Ln-cca bonding (ionic character) and showed variations of the orbital interaction term (covalent contributions) for the Ln-cca complexes studied. Electron distribution analysis suggested that the covalent contribution comes mainly from the interaction with the carboxylate moiety of cca-.  相似文献

A novel bis-beta-diketon ligand, 1,1'-(2,6-bispyridyl)bis-3-phenyl-1,3-propane-dione (L), was designed and synthesized and its complexes with Eu(III), Tb(III), Sm(III) and Gd(III) ions were successfully prepared. The ligand and the corresponding metal complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, and infrared, mass and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Analysis of the IR spectra suggested that each of the lanthanide metal ions coordinated to the ligand via the carbonyl oxygen atoms and the nitrogen atom of the pyridine ring. The fluorescence properties of these complexes in solid state were investigated and it was discovered that all of the lanthanide ions could be sensitized by the ligand (L) to some extent. In particular, the Tb(III) complex was an excellent green-emitter and would be a potential candidate material for applications in organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) and medical diagnosis.  相似文献

2-Carboxybenzaldehydeisonicotinoylhydrazone (HL), and its three lanthanide complexes, LnL(3).4H2O [Ln=La(1), Sm(2), Eu(3)], have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductivities, IR spectra and thermal analyses. In addition, the DNA-binding properties of the ligand and its complexes have been investigated by absorption, fluorescence and viscosity measurements. The experimental results indicated that the complexes (2) and (3) can bind to DNA, but the ligand and the complex (1) cannot; the binding affinity of the complex (3) is higher than that of the complex (2) and the intrinsic binding constant Kb of the complex (3) is 7.86x10(4) M-1.  相似文献

Summary Picrolonic acid (HPA) in methylisobutylketone (MIBK) (0.01 mol. dm-3) has been used for the extraction of lanthanide(III) ions such as Sm(III), Gd(III) and Ho(III) (Me) (~3. 10-6mol. dm-3) from pH 1-2 buffer solutions of 0.1 mol. dm-3(H+, Cl-) ionic strength and quantitative extraction (>95%) was found at pH 2. Through slope analysis the composition of the organometallic adduct responsible for the extraction came out to be M(PA)3. The conditional equilibrium constant values, log Kex, were deduced to be 2.60±0.01, 2.09±0.01 and 1.44±0.03 for these lanthanide(III) ions, respectively. The metals in concentration up to ~2.5. 10-4mol. dm-3can be quantitatively extracted by the proposed system. Among the various anions, fluoride, oxalate and cyanide ions (~3.0. 10-4mol. dm-3) and, among the cations, Zn(II) Cu(II), Co(II) and Fe(III) reduced the lanthanide extraction. The extraction of various other metal ions at the optimized conditions of Me extraction for this series of lanthanide ions was also studied and high separation factors (102-103) were obtained showing the good selectivity of this extraction system.  相似文献

LnAcbenz3 · 3H2O complexes of Eu3+, Tb3+, Dy3+, Sm3+, and Gd3+ with 2-acetylbenzoic acid (HAcbenz) have been synthesized. The complexes have been studied by thermogravimetry and infrared and luminescence spectroscopy. According to IR spectroscopy data, the complexation of Acbenz? with lanthanide ions occurs due to the bidentate coordination of carboxyl groups. According to thermal analysis, the complexes are dehydrated at a temperature above 140°C, and their thermodestruction begins at a temperature above 250°C. From the luminescence spectra measured at 77 and 300 K, it has been established that the integral luminescence intensity of EuAcbenz3 · 3H2O and TbAcbenz3 ° 3H2O is, respectively, 10 and 19 times higher than for tris-benzoates of the same metals. TbAcbenz3 ° 3H2O, the most intensively luminescing complex, is recommended for use as a promising luminescent material.  相似文献

The electrochemical behaviour of Eu(III), Yb(III,II) and Sm(III,II) has been investigated in NaCl-AlCl3 mixtures, in a temperature range between 150 and 250°C. Principal investigation methods are cyclic voltammetry, pulse polarography and chronoamperometry. The three tervalent lanthanides can be reduced reversibly and solutions of divalent oxidation states are stable. E1/2 potentials measured with respect to an Al electrode in a saturated melt are located respectively at 2.295 V (Eu), 1.630 V (Yb) and 1.080 V (Sm). In acidic chloroaluminates, the three investigated lanthanides are more oxidizing than in other more complexing solvents. If the acidity of the melt is decreased, precipitation of the trichloride (or the dichloride) occurs and the solubility product of the different species is directly related to the cationic size.  相似文献

Summary The cation-exchange behaviour of Mn(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), Fe(III), Sc(III), Y(III), Eu(III), Dy(III), Ho(III), Yb(III), Ti(IV) and Nb(V) in malate media at various concentrations and pH, was studied with Dowex 50 WX8 resin (200–400 mesh) in the ammonium form. Separation of Fe(III)/Cu(II), Fe(III)/Cu(II)/Zn(II), Fe(III)/Co(II)/Mn(II), Cu(II)/Ni(II)/Mn(II), Fe(III)/Cu(II)/Co(II)/Mn(II), Fe(III)/Cu(II)/Ni(II)/Cd(II), Yb(III)/Eu(III), Sc(III)/Y(III),Sc(III)/Yb(III)/Dy(III) and Nb(V)/Yb(III)/Ho(III) has been achieved, among others.This work was supported by C.N.R. of Italy.  相似文献
