Coulomb excitation byα-particles of vibrational-like states in even-mass rare-earth nuclei is used to determine the reduced transition probabilitiesB(E2; 0 gs + →2 γ + ),B(E2; 0 gs + →2 β + ),B(E2; 2 gs + →0 β + ) andB(E2; 0 gs + →3 oct ? ) in150Nd,152, 154Sm,154, 158Gd,164Dy and166Er. TheB(Eλ; 0 gs + I=λ)-values range from 2.4 to 6.5 single-particle units for transitions to the 2 γ + -states, 0.8 single-particle units for the 2 β + -states and from 14.1 to 21.7 single-particle units for the 3?-states.  相似文献

TheE4 transition matrix element from the ground state to the 4+ state has been measured in152Sm and154Sm, by comparing relative thick targetγ-ray intensities following Coulomb excitation with 12 MeV4He, 24–30 MeV16O, and 35–40 MeV32S projectiles. Values for 〈0+∥?(E4)∥4+〉 of (+0.31 ?0.20 +0.12 ) barn in152Sm and (+0.50 ?0.12 +0.09 ) barn in154Sm are found.  相似文献

γ-γ-angular correlation measurements with Ge(Li) detectors and NaJ(Tl) detectors provided theE2/M1 mixing ratios of the following gamma transitions: 3 1 + →2 2 + (475.3 keV), 2 2 + →2 1 + (563.3 keV), 4 2 + →4 1 + (569.4 keV), 3 1 + →2 1 + (1,039 keV). The angular correlation measurements were only consistent with spin 3 of the 1,643 keV level. The half life of the 1,401 keV level was determined by delayed coincidence techniques to beT 1/2 (1,401 keV)≦30 ps.  相似文献

Using the204Hg(α, pn)-reaction andα-particles of energies 39–55 MeV, we have found an isomeric 3.6 min 12? state in206Tl at 2,642.9 keV which has the two-hole configurationπh 11 2/?1 vi 13 2/?1 The 12? state decays mainly by anE5 transition of energy 1,021.4 keV to a 7+ state at 1,621.5 keV whose main configuration isπs 1 2/?1 vi 13 2/?1 There is, in addition, evidence for a weak 565 keVM 4 branch to an 8+ state at 2,078 keV whose main configuration should beπh 11 2/?1 vf 5 2/?1 . The 7+ state decays by a stretched cascade ofγ-rays to states of the following values ofJ π and excitation energy: 5 ? + , 1,405.4 keV; 4?, 952.1 keV; 2?, 265.8 keV and 0?, 0 keV. The main configurations of these states areπh 11 2/?1 vp 1 2/?1 ,πd 3 2/?1 vf 5 2/?1 ,πd 3 2/?1 vp 1 2/?1 andπs 1 2/?1 vp 1 2/?1 respectively. From the nuclear masses of208Pb,207Pb,207Tl, and206Tl and the experimental excitation energies it is possible to obtain the proton hole-neutron hole interaction in206Tl. This interaction is compared with the calculations of Kuo and Herling and the discrepancies are discussed. The 12?→8+ M4 transition rate is reduced because of destructive interference between the protonh 11/2d 3/2 and the neutroni 13/2f 5/2 contributions. The magnitude of the reduction is accurately reproduced by the wave functions of Kuo and Herling. The 12?→7+ E5 transition rate is about twice as large as the single-holeπh 11 2/?1 πs 1 2/?1 transition rate. This deviation is fully explained by the configuration admixtures in the 7+ state, given by Kuo and Herling.  相似文献

Coulomb excitation of the first excited 2+-state was measured usingα-particles to determine reduced transition probabilities,B(E2; 0 gs + →2 1 + ), in nuclei with a closed shell of 82 neutrons. TheB(E2; 0 gs + →2 1 + -values are 10.2 single-particle units (spu) for138Ba, 13.5 spu for140Ce, 11.9 spu for142Nd and 11.6 spu for144Sm. The uncertainty ranges from 1.3 % to 2.3 %.  相似文献

The lifetime of the 331.3 keV 0 2 + state in100Zr has been measured at the gas-filled recoil separator for fission products JOSEF. By observing the delayed coincidences between theβ-particles populating the level and theE0 conversion electrons from its decay into the ground state, a half-life of 3.37±0.30 ns has been obtained. From the measured lifetime and the relative intensities of the 0 2 + →0 1 + and 0 2 + →2 1 + transitions, values of 0.493±0.015 for theE0 strength parameterρ, and of 16 single particle units forB(E2,2 1 + → 0 2 + ) have been deduced. The enhanced nature of theE0 transitions suggests mixing of the 0 1 + and 0 2 + states which may be estimated by comparing the experimentalB(E2) values for the 2 1 + →0 1 + and 2 1 + →0 2 + transitions with the predictions of the asymmetric VMI model.  相似文献

Theγ-rays emitted in theβ-decay of182Ta have been reinvestigated with improved statistics in attempting to clarify the reported new levels at 1460.41, 1592.98, 1620.36, 1712.29 and 1762.91 keV in182W observed in theβ-decay of182Ta. The present study demonstrated that the fifteen newγ-rays, which were used to support the existence of the five new levels, are not relevant to theγ-decay of182Ta. Therefore the five new levels are not populated in this decay. Additionally, theγ-ray with an energy of 1035.6 keV (0 2 + →2 1 + ) deexciting theβ-band head in182W is observed for the first time in the present decay study and the previous tentative placement of the 351.0 keVγ-ray in the level scheme is confirmed by the present coincidence measurements.  相似文献

The level scheme of the very neutron rich nucleus 106 42 Mo64 has been studied for the first time through theβ decay of106Nb. Six new excited states were observed inγ singles andγ-γ coincidence experiments in addition to the 2+, 4+ and 6+ members of the ground state band. The excitation energies and the deexcitation pattern suggest the interpretation of the levels at 710, 885 and 956 keV as the 2 2 + , 3 1 + and 0 2 + states, respectively. The data support the assumption of a non-axial deformation of106Mo. A half-life of (1.02±0.05) s has been determined for theβ decay of106Nb.  相似文献

150m, 152mHo, and149Dy were produced by fusion-evaporation reactions of40Ar with targets of natural indium and114Cd. Theβ-decays of the isotopes were reinvestigated with emphasis on high-excitation daughter states. The decay energies for selectedβ-transitions were measured from electron-capture to positron-decay ratios. Corrections forγ-feeding from higher-lying states were taken into account. The following QEC-values were derived for150mHo,152mHo, and149mDy of 6819 ( ?100 +117 , 6263 ( ?80 +89 ), and 3914 ( ?52 +76 ) keV, respectively.  相似文献

Angular correlation measurements for the54Fe(3He,n γ)56Ni reaction were performed at \(E_{3_{He} } = 12.5\) MeV. Method II of Litherland and Ferguson was used to determine the multipole mixing ratio of theγ-radiation and the spins of the excited levels at 3925 and 3956 keV. As the most probable spin assignments we deduced 4+ (3925 keV) and 0+ (1,2) (3956 keV). The mixing ratio found for the 1225 keV transition from 4+→2 1 + isδ(M3/E2)=+0.21 ?0.16 +0.23 This result is compared with a shell model calculation.  相似文献

TheL-shell conversion coefficient of the 26 keV Mössbauer transition in161Dy has been determined to be αL=2.4 ?0.2 +0.3 by coincidence techniques using high resolution Ge(Li) and Si(Li) detectors. Using the experimentally measured values ofx=A 2(0)/A 1(0) andy=V(0)/A 1(0) and the measured ratiosR st=Γ(D s + φl + ν l)/Γ(D ins + φπ +) andR h=Γ(D s + φρ +)/Γ(D s + φπ +), we present evidence for significant nonfactorization contribution in the decay amplitude forD s + φπ +. We analyze the role of nonfactorization inD s + φρ + and conclude that present data onR h are consistent with factorization inD s + φρ +. Electric quadrupole transition strengths for the 2 1 + ,T=1→0 1 + ,T=1γ-decay branches are summarized for 10≦A≦42 nuclei. In10B the corresponding branch has been remeasured by use of the9Be(p, γ)10B resonance reaction atE p =320 keV; an upper limit of 0.6% is found. The variation of theE2 strengths within each individualT=1 isobaric multiplet reveals the particleor hole-character of the levels involved. The isoscalar 2 1 + →0 1 + transition strengths in 10≦A≦48 nuclei vary between 2 and 20 Weißkopf units showing drastic shell effects. Results for the ratio of neutron and proton matrix elements deduced from analogγ-decay studies and from inelastic pion scattering are compared.  相似文献

Electric monopole transitions between the 0 2 + , 0 1 + and 2 2 + , 2 1 + levels in76Se, populated in the decay of76Br, were investigated by means of conversion electrons and gammaray spectroscopy. TheK-electron intensity ratios ofE0 andE2 transitions connecting the 0 2 + level to the 0 1 + and 2 1 + levels and of theE0 andE2 components in the 2 2 + →2 1 + transition were determined. The ratioX(E0/E2) of theE0 toE2 reduced transition probabilities and, from the available lifetimes, theE0 strength parameters ρ(E0) were deduced for the two transitions. Using the Mössbauer technique electric hyperfine interactions of the first excited non-rotational states at 64 keV in157Gd and at 86.5 keV in155Gd have been determined in GdF3 and GdCl3· 6H2O. For the ratio of quadrupolmoments the ratiosQ 64 157 /Q g 157 =1.74±0.04,Q 86.5 155 /Q g 157 =?0.07 ± 0.21 andQ g 155 /Q g 157 =0.78 ± 0.06 were found. In addition isomer shifts were observed from which a ratio δ〈r2 64 157 /δ〈r2 86.5 155 =?2.6±0.15 can be inferred.  相似文献

Levels of138Ce and140Nd have been studied using the138Ba(α,4)138Ce and140Ce(α, 4)140Nd reactions. Singleγ-ray spectra,γ-γ coincidence spectra, angular and time distributions with respect to the beam bursts have been measured. A number of higher excited states with excitation energies up to about 5 MeV and with spin value up to 12 are populated in both nuclei. The lower states with spins and parities 7?, 5?, 6? and 10+ can be explained by two-quasiparticle neutron configurations of the types (h 11/2 ?1 ,d 3/2 ?1 ) 7? , (h 11/2 ?1 ,S 1/2 ?1 ) 5?, 6? and (h 11/2 ?2 ) 10+. Several high-spin states observed in138Ce and140Nd can be explained qualitatively as four-quasiparticle states with two-proton-two-neutron configurations. The 3? state at an energy of 2,137.4 keV is observed in138Ce. The evidence for the existence of the low-lying 3? states in140Nd at 2,124.0 keV is discussed. Beside the known 9.6 ms (7?) isomeric state in138Ce another state at 3,538.5keV (10+) with a half life of about 200 ns has been observed. The observed levels in the138Ce and140Nd nuclei are compared with theoretical predictions using delta force interaction.  相似文献

The followingg-factors have been derived from time integral measurements of γ-γ angular correlations in the static magnetic hyperfine field of magnetized gadolinium metal probes:156Gd:g(4 1 + )=+0.310(19)g(6 1 + )=+0.25(21)g(4 3 + , 1511 keV)=+0.809(27)158Gd:g(4 1 + )=+0.409(15). The 5.35d 156Tb sources were produced by the reaction156Gd(d, 2n)156Tb in our cyclotron. A carrier-free 150y 158Tb source was obtained from ISOLDE/CERN. In comparison with the precisely knowng-factors of the 2 1 + states,g(2 1 su+ ,156Gd) =+0.386(4) andg(2 1 + ,158Gd)=0.381(4), we observe a large reduction for the156Gd 4 1 + state whereasg increases slightly for158Gd. The half-life of the 4 1 + state of158Gd was remeasured as158Gd:T 1/2(4 1 + )=148(2) ps. A measurement of the rotation in the 4 3 + state of156Gd in external magnetic fields of various strengths up toB ext=9.5 T did not confirm the anomalous dependence of the magnetic hyperfine field in gadolinium metal on the external field, which has been reported by Persson et al. We present a detailed analysis of the processep→γ?X as a means of studying the gauge structure of theWWγ vertex. We find that the differential cross section of highp T photons offers a sensitive measure of anomalousWWγ couplings. At HERA \((\sqrt s = 314GeV)\) , after several years of running, theWWγ vertex can be measured to δκγ ? ?2.0 +2.9 and δλγ ? ?2.5 +3.0 (95% C.L.). Which offers an improvement over existing constraints from direct measurements using associatedWγ production in \(\bar pp\) collisions but is less sensitive than the competing process at HERA,epeWX. For a higher energyep collider, LEP-LHC \((\sqrt s = 1.3TeV)\) , theWWγ vertex can be measured to δδκγ ? ± 0.4 and δλκγ ? ± 0.1 at 95%C.L. which is more sensitive to λγ than the processe + e ?W + W ? at the LEP200e + e ? collider and is comparable to the LEP200 sensitivity to κγ. These values are also roughly comparable to the competing processepeWX at LEP-LHC and to what is expected from associated γW production at the LHC and SSC for κγ but they are about half as sensitive to λγ as the LHC and SSC.  相似文献

Theg-factors of the 2 1 + and 4 1 + states in198,200,202Hg were simultaneously measured by means of the transient-field perturbed angular correlation method in Coulomb excitation using multi-isotopic targets and thin polarized Gd foils as ferromagnetic host. Theg(2 1 + ) andg(4 1 + ) were found identical within errors in198, 200Hg, while in200Hg lowerg-factor values have been determined. The experimentalg-factors were compared with the predictions of the pairing-plus-quadrupole, dynamical deformation and interacting boson models.  相似文献
