在非线性光纤环形镜非线性开关效应和块状半导体波导饱和吸收效应的共同作用下,实现了掺铒光纤激光器的自启动被动锁模,获得了十分稳定的锁模脉冲序列,观察到高次谐频锁模脉冲输出。分析了非线性光纤环形镜的非线性开关反射特性。  相似文献

在理论上数值计算了各种常量对色散不对称非线性光纤环形镜透射特性的影响。并分析了它作为被动锁模器件用于光纤激光器压窄脉冲的物理机制。利用8字形主被动混合锁模的结构在调制频率为9.998748700 GHz,波长为1566.65nm处获得了11ps的稳定锁模脉冲输出.对应谱宽0.297nm.同时在重复频率为9.995792825 GHz和9.996778256 GHz时分别得到了振幅均匀的二阶和三阶谐波锁模输出。证明色散不对称非线性光纤环形镜可以有效消减脉冲的尾翼和噪声.得到脉幅稳定的脉冲序列。  相似文献

在理论上详细分析了利用非线性光学环形镜(NOLM)来减小输出脉冲幅度波动,消除噪声并对脉冲进行压缩整形的物理机制。在主动锁模掺铒光纤环形激光器中(AHML-EDFL)接入一个非线性光学环形镜,形成结构新颖的主被动锁模掺铒光纤激光器(APHML-EDFL),利用非线性光学环形镜所具有的饱和吸收体功能,成功地制抑了4阶有理数谐波锁模(RHML)中较大的幅度噪声,在1GHz量级的调制频率下,由主被动锁模掺铒光纤激光器获产生重复频率为5.1GHz,幅度相当稳定的4阶有理数谐波锁模脉冲序列。  相似文献

The wavelength-tunable rectangular pulse dissipative soliton (DS) is experimentally demonstrated, for the first time to the best of our knowledge, in an erbium-doped figure-of-eight fiber laser based on the nonlinear amplifying loop mirror mode-locked technique. The proposed rectangular pulse DS fiber laser can operate in the wavelength- tunable mode-locked state from 1573.5nm to 159d.6 nm with the rotation of the polarization controllers. The achieved output wavelengths are 1573.5nm, 1576.3nm, 1586.8nm, 1590.4nm and 1594.6nm, respectively. The pulse widths of the rectangular pulse can also be tuned from ~8ns to ~24ns by adjusting the pump power. The fundamental repetition rate of the rectangular pulse DS is 1.154 MHz and the output power is 6.1d m W (at 1594.6 nm).  相似文献

报导了一种在四波混频作用下利用倾斜光纤布拉格光栅进行波长选择的可开关双波长掺铒光纤激光器。通过将倾斜光纤光栅与单模光纤进行横向错位焊接,使光栅的反向LP01和LP11两个模式具有相近的有效反射率,从而可以用来进行激光器的双波长选择。接入腔内的一段高非线性光子晶体光纤引入的四波混频效应克服了模式竞争,使得双波长激光在室温下稳定振荡。腔内起偏器和偏振控制器的联合作用可产生依赖于波长的损耗,以补偿光纤光栅两反射峰峰值的大小差异。基于以上原理,通过调节腔内的偏振态,该激光器实现了室温下稳定的双波长输出,也实现了在两波长之间的转换。两波长激光均有超过45 dB的信噪比,最大的功率波动为0.8 dB  相似文献

在理论上分析了利用非线性光学环形镜作为等效可饱和吸收体压缩脉冲进行锁模的物理机制。利用8字形主被动混合锁模的结构在调制频率2.498749GHz下,在1.543μm处获得了12ps的锁模脉冲输出,对应谱宽0.22nm,时间脉宽积0.33。在抽运功率50mW情况下,输出脉冲平均功率3.715mW。在调制频率2.499344GHz、2.499114GHz和2.498999GHz时分别并获得了2~4阶幅度较为均衡的有理数谐波锁模脉冲序列。  相似文献

介绍了一种新型半导体可饱和吸收镜(SESAM)的原理与特性,并用它来实现掺铒光纤激光器的锁模飞秒脉冲的生成.这种新型宽带SESAM调制深度可以达到20%,用在1.5μm波段的环形腔掺铒光纤激光器里,实现自启动锁模.锁模光谱以1559 nm为中心,半峰全宽为9 nm,锁模激光脉冲串重复频率为25.6 MHz,输出功率14 mW,自相关仪测得脉宽为170 fs.  相似文献

A simple scheme of switchable dual-wavelength passively mode-locked fiber laser is demonstrated. The laser can be flexibly switched among different mode-locked states simply by tuning the cavity loss while keeping all the other cavity parameters fixed. As the cavity loss increases, the mode-locked fiber laser operates at the long-wavelength, dual-wavelength, and short-wavelength states, successively. In addition, these states can be conveniently switched without losing the mode-locked operation and the switching process is reversible as the cavity loss decreases. The mechanism is qualitatively explained by the balance between the fiber gain and the cavity loss.  相似文献

A mode-locked erbium doped fiber laser(EDFL) is demonstrated using the vanadium oxide(V_2O_5) material as a saturable absorber(SA). The V_2O_5 based SA is hosted into poly ethylene oxide film and attached on fiber ferule in the laser cavity. It shows 7% modulation depth with 71 MW/cm~2 saturation intensity. By incorporating the SA inside the EDFL cavity with managed intra-cavity dispersion, ultrashort soliton pulses are successfully generated with a full width at half maximum of 3.14 ps. The laser operated at central wavelength of 1559.25 nm and repetition frequency of 1 MHz.  相似文献

We demonstrate the generation of dark and bright solitons with our homemade zirconia-based erbium-doped fiber and graphene oxide(GO) saturable absorber in anomalous dispersion region.The GO is fabricated using an abridged Hummer's method,which is combined with polyethylene oxide to produce a composite film.The film is sandwiched between two optical ferrules and embedded in the laser cavity to enhance its birefringence and nonlinearity.The self-starting bright soliton is easily generated at pump power of 78 mW with the whole length cavity of 14.7 m.The laser produces the bright pulse train with repetition rate,pulse width,pulse energy and central wavelength being 13.9 MHz,0.6 ps,2.74 p J and 1577.46 nm,respectively.Then,by adding the 10 m of single mode fiber into the laser cavity,dark soliton pulse is produced.For the formation of dark pulse train,the measured repetition rate,pulse width,pulse energy and central wavelength are 8.3 MHz,20 ns and 4.98 p J and1596.82 nm,respectively.Both pulses operate in the anomalous region.  相似文献

We demonstrate a stable Q-switched mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL) operating in dark regime based on the nonlinear polarization rotation technique.The EDFL produces a pulse train where the Q-switching envelope is formed by multiple dark pulses.The repetition rate of the Q-switched envelope can be increased from 0.96 kHz to 3.26 kHz,whereas the pulse width reduces from 211 μs to 86 μs.The highest pulse of 479 nJ is obtained at the pump power of 55 mW.It is also observed that the dark pulses inside the Q-switching envelope consist of two parts:square and trailing dark pulses.The shortest pulse width of the dark square pulse is obtained at 40.5μs when the pump power is fixed at 145 mW.The repetition rate of trailing dark pulses can be increased from 27.62 kHz to 50 kHz as the pump power increases from 55 mW to 145 mW.  相似文献

We present a simple, compact and low-cost mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) using single-wMled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) embedded in a poly-ethylene oxide (PEO) thin film as a passive saturable absorber. The film is fabricated by using a prepared homogeneous SWCNT solution, which is mixed with a diluted PEO solution and cast onto a glass Petri dish to form, by evaporation, a thin film. The 50 μm-thick film is sandwiched between two fiber connectors to construct a saturable absorber, which is then integrated in an EDFL cavity to generate self-started stable soliton pulses operating at 1560.8nm. The soliton pulse starts to lase at a pump power threshold of 12.3mW with a repetition rate of 11.21MHz, a pulse width of 1.02ps, an average output power of 0.65 mW and a pulse energy of 57.98pJ.  相似文献

报道了一种结构简单、波长稳定可调的被动锁模环形腔掺铒光纤激光器.利用非线性偏振旋转效应作为等效可饱和吸收体实现自起振被动锁模,通过使用光纤偏振控制器和偏振相关光隔离器作为波长调谐器件,在输出端使用输出耦合器为工作波长在1550±50 nm的宽带耦合器,实现了光纤激光器的输出锁模脉冲激光中心波长较宽范围可调谐.实验上获得了低阈值自起振,重复频率为10.23 MHz,中心波长在1548.64~1600.24 nm内连续可调,边模抑制比大于44 dB的超短脉冲输出.  相似文献

Abstract

We studied the erbium-doped fiber laser transient behavior dependence on the pump polarization state or on the cavity polarization eigenvalues. Several series of measurements are shown in which the changes in the transient laser response can be appreciated as the pump polarization state, or the cavity polarization eigenvalues are modified by means of polarization controllers. Results are fitted to a model considering polarization hole burning. It is shown that including this effect is fundamental for a correct erbium-doped fiber laser transient model. On the other hand, the validity of the model's fitting parameters under pump or cavity polarization changes is analyzed.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a Raman-assisted passively mode-locked Yb-doped fiber laser in a normal dispersion regime. A section of highly nonlinear fiber is adopted to enhance the nonlinearity to extend the bandwidth of the gain spectrum by the stimulated Raman effect. The mode-locked fiber laser emits a broad spectral bandwidth of 64 nm at the-20 dB level and a highly stable pulse operation with a signal-to-noise ratio of 77 dB.  相似文献

多波长光纤激光器是未来波分复用光通信系统的理想光源,提出和展示了一个基于非线性偏振旋转效应的多波长光纤激光器,非线性偏振旋转诱导的强度相关非均匀损耗能有效地抑制均匀加宽增益介质掺铒光纤中的模式竞争,从而使光纤激光器在室温下产生稳定的多波长输出,实验实现了最多18个波长的多波长输出.另外,此激光器没有使用传统的滤波器,而是在激光腔内插入一段保偏光纤,保偏光纤与偏振相关隔离器构成一等效Lyot双折射光纤周期性滤波器.利用这种在线型的双折射光纤滤波器简化了光纤激光器的结构,使它更易于集成.还实验研究了多波长输出随抽运功率的演化,发现抽运功率对多波长的均匀性影响很大.  相似文献

Multiwavelength dispersion-tuned actively mode-locked erbium-doped fibre ring laser is demonstrated by incorporating a section of highly nonlinear fibre (HNLF) in the laser cavity. The HNLF and the time gate element (modulator) in the fibre laser successfully suppress the gain competition in the erbium-doped fibre, and thus enable multiwavelength operation. Simultaneous generation of 10 GHz pulses up to eight different wavelengths is achieved. Wavelength, spacing and modes number tuning are investigated by changing fibre cavity length, dispersion, and erbium-doped fibre amplifier power, respectively.  相似文献

We report a high power and widely tunable erbium-doped fiber (EDF) ring laser using 1480nm pump and high concentration EDF. Large tuning range up to 105nm (1513-1618 nm) has been obtained by optimizing of the EDF length.  相似文献
