An innovative technique is developed for obtaining infinite product representations for some elementary functions. The technique is based on the comparison of alternative expressions of Green's functions constructed by two different methods. Some standard boundary value problems are considered posed for two-dimensional Laplace equation on regions of a regular configuration. Classical closed analytic form of Green's functions for such problems are compared against those obtained by the method of images in the form of infinite products. This yields a number of new infinite product representations for trigonometric and hyperbolic functions. 相似文献

Let be a convex planar domain of finite inradius . Fix the point and suppose the disk centered at and radius is contained in . Under these assumptions we prove that the symmetric decreasing rearrangement in of the Green's function , for fixed , is dominated by the corresponding quantity for the strip of width . From this, sharp integral mean inequalities for the Green's function and the conformal map from the disk to the domain follow. The proof is geometric, relying on comparison estimates for the hyperbolic metric of with that of the strip and a careful analysis of geodesics.

In this article, we consider a family of compact Riemann surfaces of genus q 2 degenerating to a Riemann surface with a separating node and many non-separating nodes. We obtain the asymptotic behavior of Green's functions associated to a continuous family of quasi-hyperbolic metrics on such degenerating Riemann surfaces. 相似文献

This paper continues the development of disconjugacy of higher order dynamic equations on time scales. Two-point conjugate type boundary value problems for general disconjugate dynamic equations on time scales are studied and the sign properties of associated Green's functions are established. A finite element method is considered for dealing with nearly incompressible material. In the case of large deformations the nonlinear character of the volumetric contribution has to be taken into account. The proposed mixed method avoids volumetric locking also in this case and is robust for (with being the well-known Lamé constant). Error estimates for the -norm are crucial in the control of the nonlinear terms.

Using the functional integral formalism for the statistical generating functional in the statistical (finite temperature) quantum field theory, we prove the equivalence of many-photon Green's functions in the Duffin–Kemmer–Petiau and Klein–Gordon–Fock statistical quantum field theories. In this paper, we show that the circular prolate spheroidal wave functions (CPSWFs) are the most concentrate energy function on (0, T) among Hankel band-limited functions, here T is a positive real number. Hence, they best approximate each function in the set of essentially time- and Hankel band-limited signals than any other subspace of L 2(0,+∞). More precisely, using the theory of the CPSWFs, we show that the space spanned by the N first CPSWFs best approximate the set of essentially time- and Hankel band-limited signals than any other subspace of L 2(0,+∞) of the same dimension N. 相似文献
