不同双原子分子电子态的势能(或振动能谱)的展开性质可能不同,文章将固定阶数的代数方法(AM)改进为可变阶数的代数方法,使得该方法可以研究各种不同性质(不同能量展开阶数)的双原子分子电子态,也可以解决光谱计算中可能出现的"蝴蝶效应"问题。利用阶数可变的AM方法研究了原来固定阶数的AM方法难以给出正确结果的N2-a′1Σu-,Li2+-2 2Σg+,4 He D+-X1Σ+和39 K85 Rb-(2)3Σ+等不同双核体系的完全振动能谱与离解能,不但得到了与实验数据精确相符的理论结果,还正确地预言了许多由于实验条件与技术原因而未能测得的物理数据。研究表明阶数可变的AM方法能够更广泛地用于研究各类双核电子态体系的完全振动能谱和体系离解能。  相似文献

Observations are reported for the first time of significant nondipole effects in the photoionization of the outer-valence orbitals of diatomic molecules. Measured nondipole angular-distribution parameters for the 3sigma(g), 1pi(u), and 2sigma(u) shells of N2 exhibit spectral variations with incident photon energies from thresholds to approximately 200 eV which are attributed via concomitant calculations to particular final-state symmetry waves arising from (E1)multiply sign in circle(M1,E2) radiation-matter interactions first-order in photon momentum. Comparisons with previously reported K-edge studies in N2 verify linear scaling with photon momentum, accounting in part for the significantly enhanced nondipole behavior observed in inner-shell ionization at correspondingly higher momentum values in this molecule.  相似文献

Phonon-assisted two-magnon absorption is studied in the spin- 1/2 two-leg ladders of (Ca,La)(14)Cu(24)O(41) for E parallel c (legs) and E parallel a (rungs). We verify the theoretically predicted existence of two-magnon singlet bound states, which give rise to peaks at approximately equal to 2140 and 2800 cm(-1). The two-magnon continuum is observed at approximately equal to 4000 cm(-1). Two different theoretical approaches (Jordan-Wigner fermions and perturbation theory) describe the data very well for J parallel approximately equal to 1020-1100 cm(-1), J parallel/J perpendicular approximately equal to 1-1.2. At high energies, the magnetic contribution to sigma(omega) is strikingly similar in the ladders and in the undoped high-T(c) cuprates, which emphasizes the importance of strong quantum fluctuations in the latter.  相似文献

The fluctuations of conductivity sigma with time have been studied in a two-dimensional electron system in low-mobility Si inversion layers. The noise power spectrum is approximately 1/f(alpha) with alpha exhibiting a sharp jump at an electron density n(s) = n(g). A huge increase in the relative variance of sigma is observed as n(s) is reduced below n(g), reflecting a dramatic slowing down of the electron dynamics. This is attributed to the freezing of the electron glass. The data strongly suggest that glassy dynamics persists in the metallic phase.  相似文献

The cross sections for single-electron photoionization in two-electron atoms show fluctuations which decrease in amplitude when approaching the double-ionization threshold. Based on semiclassical closed orbit theory, we show that the algebraic decay of the fluctuations can be characterized in terms of a threshold law sigma proportional to |E|(mu) as E --> 0(-) with exponent mu obtained as a combination of stability exponents of the triple-collision singularity. It differs from Wannier's exponent dominating double-ionization processes. The details of the fluctuations are linked to a set of infinitely unstable classical orbits starting and ending in the nonregularizable triple collision. The findings are compared with quantum calculations for a model system, namely, collinear helium.  相似文献

Angular distributions of photoelectrons from a 2sigma(g) shell of fixed-in-space N2 molecules have been measured for left- and right-elliptically polarized and for linearly polarized light at several photon energies in the region of sigma(*) shape resonance. That allowed the determination of a set of dipole matrix elements and phase shift differences characterizing the process. These data clearly show the enhancement of the fsigma(u) partial cross section in the resonance simultaneously with an abrupt increase of the corresponding phase shift by pi, which is the first experimental demonstration of the nature of the sigma(*) shape resonance in homonuclear diatomic molecules.  相似文献

The quality of a medical image depends, among other parameters, on quantum noise. Quantum noise is affected by the fluctuations in the number of optical quanta produced within the phosphor, per absorbed X-ray (i.e. phosphor intrinsic-gain fluctuations). This effect is considered by means of a factor, called in this study intrinsic-gain noise factor, IGNF(E). In existing theoretical models of quantum noise, the corresponding factor is taken to be equal to one. In this paper, an expression that accounts for the coefficient of variation of the phosphor intrinsic gain is introduced. This expression takes into account the process of electron–hole pair conversion to optical photons and the frequency distribution function of the emitted optical photon energy. Subsequently IGNF(E) is expressed in terms of this coefficient of variation. IGNF(E) has been calculated for several phosphors and for various energies. For all medical X-ray energies studied, phosphors that exhibit a high relative fluctuation of emitted optical photon energy, IGNF(E) exceeds by 2% to over 17% the corresponding factor of the existing theoretical models of quantum noise. Using the Kubo formula approach, we study the effect of electron interaction on thermal transport in the vicinity of a metal-insulator transition, with a granular metal as our model. For small values of dimensionless intergrain tunneling conductance, g<1, we find that the thermal conductivity surprisingly shows a phononlike algebraic decrease, kappa(T) approximately g2T3/E2c even though the electrical conductivity obeys an Arrhenius law, sigma(T) approximately ge-Ec/T ; therefore the Wiedemann-Franz (WF) law is seriously violated. We explicitly show that this violation arises from nonmagnetic bosonic excitations of low energy that transport heat but not charge. At large values of intergrain tunneling, we find it plausible that the WF law weakly deviates from the free-electron theory due to potential fluctuations. Implications for experiment are discussed.  相似文献

We discuss the scaling laws of both the charged fragments multiplicity n fluctuations and the charge of the largest fragment Z(max) fluctuations for Xe + Sn collisions in the range of bombarding energies between 25A MeV and 50A MeV. We show at E(lab) > or similar to 32 MeV/A the transition in the fluctuation regime of Z(max) which is compatible with the transition from the ordered to disordered phase of excited nuclear matter. The size (charge) of the largest fragment is closely related to the order parameter characterizing this process.  相似文献

It is shown that the sharp peak in the E(2g) Raman spectrum of superconducting MgB2 is due to a bound state caused by the electron-phonon coupling. Our theory explains why this peak appears only in the spectra with E(2g) symmetry and only in the sigma but not the pi bands. The properties of the bound state and the Raman spectrum are investigated, also in the presence of impurity scattering.  相似文献

We evaluate the full current statistics (FCS) in the low-dimensional (1D and 2D) diffusive conductors in the incoherent regime eV>E(Th)=D/L(2), E(Th) being the Thouless energy. It is shown that the Coulomb interaction substantially enhances the probability of big current fluctuations for short conductors with E(Th)>1/tau(E), tau(E) being the energy relaxation time, leading to the exponential tails in the current distribution. The current fluctuations are most strong for low temperatures, provided E(Th) approximately [(eV)(2)/Dnu(2)(1)](1/3) for 1D and E(Th) approximately (eV/g)ln(g for 2D, where g is a dimensionless conductance and nu(1) is a 1D density of states. The FCS in the "hot electron" regime is also discussed.  相似文献

Statistical properties of experimental eigenfunctions of quantum chaotic and disordered microwave cavities are shown to demonstrate nonuniversal correlations due to localization. Varying energy E and mean free path l enable us to experimentally tune from localized to delocalized states. Large level-to-level inverse participation ratio ( I2) fluctuations are observed for the disordered billiards, whose distribution is strongly asymmetric about . The spatial density autocorrelations of eigenfunctions are shown to spatially decay exponentially and the decay lengths are experimentally determined. All the results are quantitatively consistent with calculations based upon nonlinear sigma models.  相似文献

We perform quantum calculations of fluctuations of the electromagnetic fields in AA collisions at RHIC and LHC energies. The analysis is based on the fluctuation–dissipation theorem. We find that in the quantum picture the field fluctuations are very small. They turn out to be much smaller than the predictions of the classical Monte Carlo simulation with the Woods–Saxon nuclear density.  相似文献

Confined excitons in non-abrupt GaAs/AlxGa1−xAs single quantum wells are studied. The graded interfaces are described taking into account fluctuations in their thickness a and positioning with respect to the abrupt interface picture. Numerical results for confined (0,0),(1,1) and (0,2) excitons in GaAs/Al0.3Ga0.7As quantum wells show that while the interfacial fluctuations produce small changes (<0.5 meV) in the exciton binding energies, the confined exciton energies can be red- or blue-shifted as much as 25 meV for wells with mean width of 50 Å and 2 ML wide interfaces.  相似文献

We show that future detectors of ultrahigh-energy cosmic-ray neutrinos will be able to measure neutrino-nucleon cross section, sigma(nu N), at energies as high as 10(11) GeV or higher. We find that the flux of upgoing charged leptons per unit surface area produced by neutrino interactions below the surface is inversely proportional to sigma(nu N). This contrasts with the rate of horizontal air showers (HAS) due to neutrino interactions in the atmosphere, which is proportional to sigma(nu N). Thus, by comparing the HAS and upgoing air shower rates, the neutrino-nucleon cross section can be inferred. Taken together, upgoing and horizontal rates ensure a healthy total event rate, regardless of the value of sigma(nu N).  相似文献

We calculate the Hall conductivity sigma(xy) and resistivity rho(xy) of a granular system at large tunneling conductance g(T)>1. We show that in the absence of Coulomb interaction the Hall resistivity depends neither on the tunneling conductance nor on the intragrain disorder and is given by the classical formula rho(xy)=H/(n*ec), where n* differs from the carrier density n inside the grains by a numerical coefficient determined by the shape of the grains. The Coulomb interaction gives rise to logarithmic in temperature T correction to rho(xy) in the range Gamma less or similar T less or similar min(g(T)E(c), E(Th)), where Gamma is the tunneling escape rate, E(c) is the charging energy, and E(Th) is the Thouless energy of the grain.  相似文献

We discuss the properties of a recently proposed model of quantum chaotic billiards in two and three dimensions. The model is based on a tight-binding Hamiltonian in which the energies of the atomic levels at the boundary sites are chosen at random between -W/2 and W/2. The energy spectra show a complex behavior with regions that obey Wigner-Dyson statistics, and regions with localized and quasi-ideal states distributed according to Poisson statistics. Whereas at low energies long-range energy fluctuations follow Random Matrix Theory (RMT) for all W, at high energies fluctuations are below (above) RMT for small (large) W. For small W, the mean free path l is proportional to L/W 2, L being the system size, and reaches a minimum for W of the order of the band width, at which lL/2. In 3D we found that the energy fluctuations of the highest occupied level are much larger than the average interlevel spacing. This provides an explanation for autoionization effects of the grains in granular metals.  相似文献

We present a unified framework for understanding the compaction of colloidal gels under their own weight. The dynamics of the collapse are determined by the value of the gravitational stress sigma(g), as compared to the yield stress sigma(Y) of the network. For sigma(g)sigma(Y), the network eventually yields, leading to rapid settling. In both cases, the rate of collapse is backflow limited, while its overall magnitude is determined by a balance between gravitational stress and network elastic stress.  相似文献

We have studied the diffractive dissociation into dijets of 500 GeV/c pions scattering coherently from carbon and platinum targets. Extrapolating to asymptotically high energies (where t(min)-->0), we find that when the per-nucleus cross section for this process is parametrized as sigma = sigma0Aalpha, alpha has values near 1.6, the exact result depending on jet transverse momentum. These values are in agreement with those predicted by theoretical calculations of color-transparency.  相似文献
