In this study, the effects of thermal annealing temperature and duration on ZnO nanorod arrays fabricated by hydrothermal method were investigated. The annealed ZnO/Si(1 1 1) substrate was used for ZnO nanorod array growth. The effects of annealing treatment on the structural and optical properties were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and room-temperature photoluminescence measurements. With the annealing temperature of 750 °C and the annealing duration of 10 min, both the structural and optical properties of the ZnO nanorod arrays improved significantly, as indicated in the X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence measurement.  相似文献

Results of magnetic measurements suggested that Bi2S3 and ZnS nanocrystalline powders prepared by hydrothermal method could possibly exhibit room temperature ferromagnetism. The measured saturation magnetization of the powders increases with an increase of annealing temperature from 300 to 500 °C. Ab initio calculations suggested that the cation vacancies on the surface of Bi2S3 and ZnS nanograins could be responsible for the observed magnetic moments. Heat-treatment of Bi2S3 or ZnS nanocrystalline powders in Bi or Zn vapor could bring about an enhancement of ferromagnetism. The calculation results indicated that the interstitial Bi or Zn atoms in Bi2S3 (0 0 1) or ZnS (0 0 1) surface could induce magnetic moments.  相似文献

Well-aligned ZnO nanorod arrays have been successfully fabricated directly on anatase TiO2 nanoparticle films via low-temperature hydrothermal processes. The effects of the reactive time, temperature and reactant concentration on the growth of the as-prepared ZnO crystals are investigated in detail, and the possible mechanisms of crystal ZnO nanorod growth are also suggested. The results show that the low reactant concentration is in favor of the increase in the aspect ratio of crystal ZnO nanorods with weak orientation, while the long reactive time and high reactant concentration are useful to prepare well-aligned crystal ZnO nanorod arrays. Interestingly, the typically constructed composite films exhibit superhydrophilic characteristic without UV irradiation. Moreover, a strong near-ultraviolet PL band centering at about 385 nm and a weak green PL band centering at about 525 nm can appear at the room temperature.  相似文献

A novel ZnS hierarchical structure composed of nanorod arrays with branched nanosheets and nanowires grown on their upside walls, was synthesized over Au-coated silicon substrate via chemical vapor deposition technique. Contact angle and sliding angle of this hierarchical film with no surface modification were measured to be about 153.8° and 9.1° for 5 μl water droplets. Self-cleaning behavior and dynamic water-repelling performance were clearly demonstrated. In addition, electrowetting transition phenomenon from superhydrophobic to hydrophilic state happened when a critical bias ∼7.0 V was applied. Below this threshold voltage, the contact angle change is little. This work for the first time reports the creation of ZnS superhydrophobic surface and could enrich its research field as surface functional materials.  相似文献

ZnO nanowire (NW) arrays are assembled on the Al-doped ZnO (AZO) seed layer by a hydrothermal process. Effects of the temperature and growth time of the hydrothermal process on morphological and photoluminescence properties of the as-assembled ZnO NW arrays are characterized and studied. Results indicate that the length and diameter of the ZnO NWs increase with a lengthening of the growth time at 80 °C and the hydrothermal temperature has a significant effect on the growth rate and the photoluminescence properties of the ZnO NW arrays. The patterned AZO seed layer is fabricated on a silicon substrate by combining a sol-gel process with an electron-beam lithography process, as well as a surface fluorination technique, and then the ZnO NW arrays are selectively grown on those patterned regions of the AZO seed layer by the hydrothermal process. Room-temperature photoluminescence spectra of the patterned ZnO NW arrays shows that only a strong UV emission at about 380 nm is observed, which implies that few crystal defects exist inside the as-grown ZnO NW arrays.  相似文献

Oriented ZnO nanorod arrays were successfully prepared on transparent conductive substrates by seed-layer-free electrochemical deposition in solution of Zn(NO3)2 at a low temperature of 70 °C without using any catalysts, additives, and additional seed crystals. The effects of the Zn(NO3)2 concentration, deposition time and applied current on the localized nanorod arrays are investigated. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) were used to characterize the structures and the morphologies of ZnO nanorod arrays. The heights and diameters of ZnO nanorods can be tuned by controlling the electrodeposition parameters.  相似文献

Hydrogenated nanocrystalline Si (nc-Si:H) nanorod arrays were cost-effectively prepared on electrodeposited nickel nanocones substrates by very high frequency plasma enhanced vapor deposition. The antireflection properties of the obtained Si nanorod arrays were investigated carefully for the possible application in solar cells. It was found that the structures of nc-Si:H nanorod arrays can be tuned to obtain a very low reflectance especially in the near infrared region. The obtained Si nanostructure with well-separated nanorods, each of which had an average diameter of 200 nm and height of 700 nm, showed a reflectance value of <5% at normal incident over a wide wavelength of 400-1100 nm.  相似文献

Self-assembled Ni-doped zinc oxide (Zn1−xNixO, x = 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, i.e., ZnNiO, nominal composition) nanorod arrays vertically grown on the ZnO seed layer covered glass along [0 0 1] direction were synthesized by hydrothermal method. Their images and structures have been characterized by scan electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectra, showing that Ni doping is beneficial to the formation of ZnO nanorods with hexagonal cross section and the enhancement of ZnO crystal quality. X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) study further demonstrated that Ni atoms were successfully doped into ZnO lattices. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra of ZnNiO samples show near bandedge emission (NBE) peaks at about 380 nm at a low excitation power and the NBE peak position redshifts while its intensity continuously increases with the increase of Ni doping concentration. With the excitation power increasing, the NBE peak redshifts from 380 nm to about 400 nm for ZnNiO nanorod arrays. The NBE mechanisms for ZnNiO nanorod arrays have been discussed, which is helpful for understanding their room temperature ferromagnetisms.  相似文献

An effective low-temperature growth method to fabricate hexagonally oriented ZnO nanorod arrays onto PET fabrics is reported. The effect of substrate pre-treatment and C6H12N4 concentration on the structure of ZnO nanorod arrays were investigated in details by X-ray diffraction (XRD), FE-SEM and ultraviolet protection factor (UPF). The results show that substrate pre-treatment, C6H12N4 concentration indeed have great influence on the growth of ZnO nanorod arrays. It is indispensable to introduce a ZnO seed layer on the substrate and under growth condition of n(C6H12N4):n[Zn(NO3)2] = 1:1, T = 90 °C, t = 3 h, the well-aligned ZnO nanorod arrays with 40-50 nm in diameter and 300-400 nm in length were achieved on the pre-treated PET fabrics. The ZnO nanorods grown on PET fabrics possessed an ultrahigh ultraviolet protection factor of 480.52 in this study, indicating an excellent protection against ultraviolet radiation in comparison with the untreated PET fabrics.  相似文献

ZnO nanorod arrays on ZnO-coated seed layers were fabricated by aqueous solution method using zinc nitrate and hexamethylenetetramine at low temperature. The seed layers were coated on ITO substrates by electrochemical deposition technique, and their textures were dominated by controlling the deposition parameters, such as deposition potential and electrolyte concentration. The effects of the electrodeposited seed layers and the growing parameters on the structures and properties of ZnO nanorod arrays were primarily discussed. The orientation and morphology of both the seed layer and successive nanorods were analyzed by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), SEM and TEM. The results show that the seed layer deposited at −700 mV has evenly distributed crystallites and (0 0 2) preferred orientation; the density of resultant nanorods is high and ZnO nanorods stand completely perpendicular onto substrates. Meanwhile, the size of nanorods quite also depends on the growth solution, and the higher concentration of growth solution primary leads to a large diameter of the ZnO nanorods.  相似文献

ZnS thin films have been prepared by chemical bath deposition (CBD) technique onto glass substrates deposited at about 80 °C using aqueous solution of zinc sulfate hepta-hydrate, ammonium sulfate, thiourea, ammonia and hydrazine hydrate. Ammonia and hydrazine hydrate were used as complexing agents. The influence of the ratio of [Zn]/[S] on formation and properties of ZnS thin films has been investigated. The ratio of [Zn]/[S] was changed from 3:1 to 1:9 by varying volumes and/or concentrations of zinc sulfate hepta-hydrate and thiourea in the deposition solution. The structural and morphological characteristics of films have been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope and UV-vis spectroscopic analysis. ZnS films were obtained with the [Zn]/[S] ratio ranged from1:1 to 1:6. In the cases of [Zn]/[S] ratio ≥ 3:1 or ≤1:9, no deposition was found. Transparent and polycrystalline ZnS film was obtained with pure-wurtzite structure at the [S]/[Zn] ratio of 1:6. The related formation mechanisms of CBD ZnS are discussed. The deposited ZnS films show good optical transmission (80-90%) in the visible region and the band gap is found to be in the range of 3.65-3.74 eV. The result is useful to further develop the CBD ZnS technology.  相似文献

Bright blue emission from Te-doped ZnS nanowires   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Optical properties of Te-doped ZnS (ZnS:Te) nanowires (NWs) synthesized by a thermal chemical vapor deposition method were investigated by cathodeluminescence and photoluminescence (PL) measurements. ZnS:Te NWs exhibit the blue emission with the maximum peak at ∼440 nm at room temperature. We calculated Te-induced states on the valence band and conduction band in ZnS bulk crystal compared with PL peaks of ZnS:Te NWs. Temperature-dependent PL indicated that the activation energy of electron confined in ZnS:Te NWs is 85 meV. Blue light-emitting dot matrix displays were also fabricated using ZnS:Te NWs. This result suggested that ZnS:Te NWs could be applied as a blue-color-emitter on display devices.  相似文献

The current study investigates the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on Al-doped and undoped ZnO nanorod arrays synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method. Current density-voltage (J-V) characterizations indicate that Al-doping in ZnO crystal structure can significantly improve current densities and the energy conversion efficiency (η) of ZnO nanorod-based DSSCs. The maximum η, 1.34%, was achieved in DSSC when Al-doped ZnO nanorod arrays were grown in 0.04 M zinc acetate dihydrate solution with 5 mM aluminum nitrate nonahydrate. This result represents a large increase of η in Al-doped ZnO nanorod-based DSSCs as compared to undoped (0.05%). The improved DSSC photovoltaic performance can be attributed to two main factors: (1) increased light harvesting efficiency due to a large amount of N719 adsorbed on the large surface area of Al-doped ZnO nanorod arrays, and (2) increased electrical conductivity due to A13+ ion doped into the ZnO lattice at the divalent Zn2+ site, allowing electrons to move easily into the Al-doped ZnO conduction band.  相似文献

The field emission property of zinc sulphides nanorods synthesized in the thin film form on Si substrates has been studied. It is seen that ZnS nanorod thin films showed good field emission properties with a low-macroscopic turn-on field (2.9-6.3 V/μm). ZnS nanorods were synthesized by using radio frequency magnetron sputtering of a polycrystalline prefabricated ZnS target at a relatively higher pressure (10−1 mbar) and at a lower substrate temperature (233-273 K) without using any catalyst. Transmission electron microscopic image showed the formation of ZnS nanorods with high aspect ratio (>60). The field emission data were analysed using Fowler-Nordhiem theory and the nearly straight-line nature of the F-N plots confirmed cold field emission of electrons. It was also found that the turn-on field decreased with the decrease of nanorod's diameters. The optical properties of the ZnS nanorods were also studied. From the measurements of transmittance of the films deposited on glass substrates, the direct allowed bandgap values have been calculated and they were in the range 3.83-4.03 eV. The thickness of the films was ∼600 nm.  相似文献

Single crystalline CdTe branched nanowires and well-aligned nanorod arrays were simultaneously synthesized by a simple chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) and selected area electronic diffraction (SAED) were used to study the crystalline structure, composition and morphology of different samples. Vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) and vapor-solid (VS) processes were proposed for the formation of the CdTe branched nanowires and nanorod arrays, respectively. As-grown CdTe nanorod arrays show a strong red emission band centered at about 620 nm, which can be well fitted by two Gaussian curves centered at 610 nm and 635 nm, respectively.  相似文献

Orderly aligned ZnO nanorod arrays were grown by the ultrafast laser assisted ablation deposition method. These nanorod arrays were further used to make efficient p-n heterojunction photodetector arrays, which have the potential to have nanoscale spatial resolution for imaging, unique incident polarization discrimination capability, and much improved quantum efficiency as well as detection sensitivity. Both front- and back-illumination photodetection schemes were demonstrated by growing those ZnO nanorod arrays on p-type silicon and p-type Zn0.9Mg0.1O-coated Al2O3 (0 0 0 1) substrates, respectively. Typical diode rectification behavior and photosensitivity were observed in both designs through I-V and photocurrent measurements.  相似文献

We studied the magnetic properties of Mn/Fe codoped ZnS comparatively with and without defects using first-principle calculation. The calculated results indicate that the Mn/Fe codoped ZnS system tends to stabilize in a ferrimagnetic (FiM) configuration. To obtain a ferromagnetic (FM) configuration, we consider the doped system with defects, such as S or Zn vacancy. The calculated results indicate that the doped system with Zn vacancy favors FiM states. Although the FM states of the doped system with S vacancy are more stable than the FiM states in negative charge states, the FM states are not stable enough to exist. Finally, we replaced an S atom by a C atom in the doped system. The C atom prefers to substitute the S atom connecting Mn and Fe atoms. The formation energy of this defect is −0.40 eV, showing that Mn/Fe/C codoped ZnS can be fabricated easily by experiments. Furthermore, the FM state was lower in energy than the FiM state by 114 meV. Such a large energy difference between the FM and FiM states implies that room temperature ferromagnetism could be expected in such a system.  相似文献

The growth of ZnO nanorod arrays via a template-free sol-gel process was investigated. The nanorod is single-crystalline wurtzite structure with [0 0 0 1] growth direction determined by the transmission electron microscope. The aligned ZnO arrays were obtained directly on the glass substrates by adjusting the temperatures and the withdrawal speeds, without seed-layer or template assistant. A thicker oriented ZnO nanorod arrays was obtained at proper experimental conditions by adding dip-coating layers. Room temperature photoluminescence spectrum exhibits an intensive UV emission with a weak broad green emission as well as a blue double-peak emission located at 451 and 468 nm, respectively. Further investigation results show that the difference in the alignment of nanorods ascribes to the different orientations of the nanoparticles-packed film formed prior to nanorods on the substrate. Well ordered ZnO nanorods are formed from this film with good c-axis orientation. Our study is expected to pave a way for direct growth of oriented nanorods by low-cost solution approaches.  相似文献

A ZnO guiding layer with nanorod arrays grown on a 90°-rotated ST-cut (42°45) quartz substrate was used to fabricate a Love wave fluid sensor. ZnO nanorod arrays synthesized on the guiding layer enhance the sensitivity of the flow rate. ZnO thin films were deposited by radio frequency magnetron sputtering and ZnO nanorod arrays were then synthesized on the thin films via the hydrothermal method. The crystalline structure and surface morphology of ZnO thin films and nanorod arrays were examined by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The effects of the thickness of ZnO thin film and the surface morphology of ZnO nanorod arrays on the sensitivity of flow rate were investigated. A linear response between flow rate and the return loss of the sensor with one-port resonator type can be obtained by adjusting the thickness of ZnO thin film and the length of nanorod arrays.  相似文献

Oriented single crystalline titanium dioxide (TiO2) nano-pillar arrays were directly synthesized on the Ti plate in tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH) solution by one-pot hydrothermal method. The samples were characterized respectively by means of field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Results showed that the TiO2 nano-pillar with a tetrahydral bipyramidal tip grew vertically on the titanium substrate. HRTEM and Raman results confirmed that the TiO2 nano-pillar arrays were single crystalline anatase. The controls of morphology, size, and orientation of the nano-pillar could be achieved by varying the solution concentration and hydrothermal temperature. Furthermore, the special morphology of the TiO2 nano-pillar arrays was caused by the selectively absorption of the tetramethylammonium (TMA) through hydrogen bonds on the lattice planes parallel to (0 0 1) of anatase TiO2. Less grain boundaries and direct electrical pathway for electron transferring were crucial for the superior photoelectrochemical properties of the single anatase TiO2 nano-pillar arrays. This approach provides a facile in situ method to synthesize TiO2 nano-pillar arrays with a special morphology on titanium substrate.  相似文献
