It is shown that the theta functions of level n on the principallypolarised Prym varieties of an algebraic curve are dual to thesections of the orthogonal theta line bundle on the moduli spaceof Spin(n)-bundles over the curve. Let P ∪ P′ be the two component Prym variety associated to an étale double cover C̃ → C of a non-hyperelliptic curve of genus g ≥6 and let |2Ξ0| and |2Ξ′0| be the linear systems of second order theta divisors on P and P′ respectively. The component P′ contains canonically the Prym curve C̃. We show that the base locus of the subseries of divisors containing C̃ ⊂ P′ is exactlythe curve C̃. We also prove canonical isomorphisms between some subseries of |2Ξ0| and |2Ξ′0| and some subseries of second order theta divisors on the Jacobian of C. 相似文献

We transcribe in terms of theta functions the present state of knowledge on the transcendence degree of the fields generated by periods of elliptic integrals, or equivalently, by values of modular or hypergeometric functions. This approach leads to sharpenings of some of the quantitative aspects of the proofs. We conclude with a conjectural modular analogue of the Lindemann-Weierstrass theorem. 相似文献

We study conjugate duality with arbitrary coupling functions. Our only tool is a certain support property, which is automatically fulfilled in the two most widely used special cases, namely the case where the underlying space is a topological vector space and the coupling functions are the continuous linear ones, and the case where the underlying space is a metric space and the coupling functions are the continuous ones. We obtain thereby a simultaneous axiomatic extension of these two classical models. Also included is a condition for global optimality, which requires only the mentioned support property. 相似文献

In this paper we consider topological spaces as generalised orders and characterise those spaces which satisfy a (suitably defined) topological distributive law. In this paper, we consider first the most important classes of cone convexlike vector-valued functions and give a dual characterization
for some of these classes. It turns out that these characterizations are strongly related to the closely convexlike and Ky
Fan convex bifunctions occurring within minimax problems. Applying the Lagrangian perturbation approach, we show that some
of these classes of cone convexlike vector-valued functions show up naturally in verifying strong Lagrangian duality for finite-dimensional
optimization problems. This is achieved by extending classical convexity results for biconjugate functions to the class of
so-called almost convex functions. In particular, for a general class of finite-dimensional optimization problems, strong
Lagrangian duality holds if some vector-valued function related to this optimization problem is closely K-convexlike and satisfies some additional regularity assumptions. For K a full-dimensional convex cone, it turns out that the conditions for strong Lagrangian duality simplify. Finally, we compare
the results obtained by the Lagrangian perturbation approach worked out in this paper with the results achieved by the so-called

of vector spaces. All these, at first sight unrelated facts, are comprised in the commutative scheme below with natural dualisation
functors and their left adjoints.
