In this paper we consider the non‐linear wave equation a,b>0, associated with initial and Dirichlet boundary conditions. We prove, under suitable conditions on α,β,m,p and for negative initial energy, a global non‐existence theorem. This improves a result by Yang (Math. Meth. Appl. Sci. 2002; 25 :825–833), who requires that the initial energy be sufficiently negative and relates the global non‐existence of solutions to the size of Ω. This paper is concerned with the unique global solvability of a three‐dimensional (3‐D) non‐linear thermoelasticity system arising from the study of shape memory materials. The system consists of the coupled evolutionary problems of viscoelasticity with non‐convex elastic energy and non‐linear heat conduction with mechanical dissipation. The present paper extends the previous 2‐D existence result of the authors Reference [1] to 3‐D case. In this paper the degenerate parabolic system ut=u(uxx+av). vt=v(vxx+bu) with Dirichlet boundary condition is studied. For , the global existence and the asymptotic behaviour (α1=α2) of solution are analysed. For , the blow‐up time, blow‐up rate and blow‐up set of blow‐up solution are estimated and the asymptotic behaviour of solution near the blow‐up time is discussed by using the ‘energy’ method. We study a class of compressible non‐Newtonian fluids in one space dimension. We prove, by using iterative method, the global time existence and uniqueness of strong solutions provided that the initial data satisfy a compatibility condition and the initial density is small in its H1‐norm. We consider the non‐local singular boundary value problem (1) where q ∈ C0([0,1]) and f, h ∈ C0((0,∞)), limf(x)=?∞, limh(x)=∞. We present conditions guaranteeing the existence of a solution x ∈ C1([0,1]) ∩ C2((0,1]) which is positive on (0,1]. An alternative first order formulation of linear thermo‐elasticity is presented, designed to deal with coefficients of low regularity as a model for a large class of media occupying arbitrary non‐empty open sets. By fine‐tuning the concepts of generalized derivatives a general existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence result is obtained in the framework of extrapolation spaces (Sobolev lattices). The existence of global‐in‐time weak solutions to the Joule problem modelling heating or cooling in a current and heat conductive medium is proved via the Faedo–Galerkin method. The existence proof entails some a priori estimates that together with the monotonicity and compactness methods make up a main tool to prove the desired result. Under appropriate hypotheses on the data, it will be shown the boundedness in L∞(QT) of the absolute temperature of the medium and of the t‐derivative of this temperature, which is achieved by means of the Gagliardo–Nirenberg theorem, the Sobolev embedding theorem and the method of Stampacchia. The paper is some extension of our investigation initiated in (Math. Meth. Appl. Sci. 1998; 23 :1275–1291). This extension includes relaxing some assumptions in (Math. Meth. Appl. We propose and analyze a Crank–Nicolson quadrature Petrov–Galerkin (CNQPG) ‐spline method for solving semi‐linear second‐order hyperbolic initial‐boundary value problems. We prove second‐order convergence in time and optimal order H2 norm convergence in space for the CNQPG scheme that requires only linear algebraic solvers. In this paper, by means of a constructive method based on the theory of the existence and the uniqueness of the C1 solution to the Cauchy problem and the Goursat problem, the global exact boundary observability for the first‐order quasilinear hyperbolic systems of diagonal form with linearly degenerate characteristics is obtained. In the case that the system has no zero characteristics, we realize the two‐sided and one‐sided global exact boundary observability by the boundary observed values and obtain the observability inequality. Stability of non‐constant steady‐state solutions for non‐isentropic Euler–Maxwell system with a temperature damping term 下载免费PDF全文
This work is concerned with the periodic problem for compressible non‐isentropic Euler–Maxwell systems with a temperature damping term arising in plasmas. For this problem, we prove the global in time existence of a smooth solution around a given non‐constant steady state with the help of an induction argument on the order of the mixed time‐space derivatives of solutions in energy estimates. Moreover, we also show the convergence of the solution to this steady state as the time goes to the infinity. This phenomenon on the charge transport shows the essential relation of the systems with the non‐isentropic Euler–Maxwell and the isentropic Euler–Maxwell systems. This paper is concerned with global stabilization of an undamped non‐linear string in the case where any velocity feedback is not available. The linearized system has an infinite number of poles and zeros on the imaginary axis. In the case where any velocity feedback is not available, a parallel compensator is effective. The stabilizer is constructed for the augmented system which consists of the controlled system and a parallel compensator. It is proved that the string can be stabilized by linear boundary control. We consider the chemotaxis‐Navier–Stokes system 1.1-1.4 (Keller–Segel system) in the whole space, which describes the motion of oxygen‐driven bacteria, eukaryotes, in a fluid. We proved the global existence and time decay estimate of solutions to the Cauchy problem 1.1-1.2 in with the small initial data. It is well known that, for reaction–diffusion systems, if the nonlinearities grow faster than a polynomial, nothing seems to be known for instance. The purpose of this paper is to give sufficient conditions guaranteeing global existence, uniqueness and uniform boundedness of solutions for coupled reaction–diffusion equations without condition growth on the reactions terms f and g in case f + g ≠ 0. These systems possess many and various applications in physics as the diffusion of the Phosphorus in the Silicone or some models describing some nuclear reactions; there have also been other applications in chemistry and biology.
