In 1992, Branner and Hubbard raised a conjecture that the Julia set of a polynomial is a Cantor set if and only if each critical component of its filled-in Julia set is not periodic. We consider non-autonomous iteration which is a generalization of standard polynomial iteration where we deal with Julia sets arising from composition sequences for arbitrarily chosen polynomials with uniformly bounded degrees and coefficients. In this paper, we look at examples where all the critical points escape to infinity. In the classical case, any example of this type must be hyperbolic and there can be only one Fatou component, namely the basin at infinity. This result remains true in the non-autonomous case if we also require that the dynamics on the Julia set be hyperbolic or semi-hyperbolic. However, in general it fails and we exhibit three counterexamples of sequences of quadratic polynomials all of whose critical points escape but which have bounded Fatou components.  相似文献

We prove that Collet-Eckmann condition for rational functions, which requires exponential expansion only along the critical orbits, yields the H?lder regularity of Fatou components. This implies geometric regularity of Julia sets with non-hyperbolic and critically-recurrent dynamics. In particular, polynomial Collet-Eckmann Julia sets are locally connected if connected, and their Hausdorff dimension is strictly less than 2. As a generalization of the dynamics of a single polynomial,Hinkkanen and Martin studied the dynamics of polynomial semigroupsof finite type. Among the issues addressed were possible generalizationsof the filled-in Julia set of a single polynomial and the basinof attraction for infinity. In the paper, these concepts arefurther refined, and the connections between the dynamics ofa single function and the dynamics of semigroups are strengthened.  相似文献

We prove that the only possible biaccessible points in the Julia set of a Cremer quadratic polynomial are the Cremer fixed point and its preimages. This gives a partial answer to a question posed by C. McMullen on whether such a Julia set can contain any biaccessible point at all.

We call a rational map f dendrite-critical if all its recurrent critical points either belong to an invariant dendrite D or have minimal limit sets. We prove that if f is a dendrite-critical polynomial, then for any conformal measure μ either for almost every point its limit set coincides with the Julia set of f, or for almost every point its limit set coincides with the limit set of a critical point c of f. Moreover, if μ is non-atomic, then c can be chosen to be recurrent. A corollary is that for a dendrite-critical polynomial and a non-atomic conformal measure the limit set of almost every point contains a critical point.  相似文献

We consider the dynamics arising from the iteration of an arbitrary sequence of polynomials with uniformly bounded degrees and coefficients and show that, as parameters vary within a single hyperbolic component in parameter space, certain properties of the corresponding Julia sets are preserved. In particular, we show that if the sequence is hyperbolic and all the Julia sets are connected, then the whole basin at infinity moves holomorphically. This extends also to the landing points of external rays and the resultant holomorphic motion of the Julia sets coincides with that obtained earlier in [9] using grand orbits. In addition, we have combinatorial rigidity in the sense that if a finite set of external rays separates the Julia set for a particular parameter value, then the rays with the same external angles separate the Julia set for every parameter in the same hyperbolic component.  相似文献

We find necessary and sufficient conditions for the connected Julia set of a polynomial of degree d?2 to be an indecomposable continuum. One necessary and sufficient condition is that the impression of some prime end (external ray) of the unbounded complementary domain of the Julia set J has nonempty interior in J. Another is that every prime end has as its impression the entire Julia set. The latter answers a question posed in 1993 by the second two authors.We show by example that, contrary to the case for a polynomial Julia set, the image of an indecomposable subcontinuum of the Julia set of a rational function need not be indecomposable.  相似文献

The symmetries of Julia sets of Newton’s method is investigated in this paper. It is shown that the group of symmetries of Julia set of polynomial is a subgroup of that of the corresponding standard, multiple and relax Newton’s method when a nonlinear polynomial is in normal form and the Julia set has finite group of symmetries. A necessary and sufficient condition for Julia sets of standard, multiple and relax Newton’s method to be horizontal line is obtained.  相似文献

We prove a result about an extension of the multiplier of an attracting periodic orbit of a quadratic map as a function of the parameter. This has applications to the problem of geometry of the Mandelbrot and Julia sets. In particular, we prove that the size of p/q-limb of a hyperbolic component of the Mandelbrot set of period n is O(4 n /p), and give an explicit condition on internal arguments under which the Julia set of corresponding (unique) infinitely renormalizable quadratic polynomial is not locally connected.
