In this paper,the notion of division for invariant closed subsets of a tree map is introduced. It is proved that: (1) fhas zero topological entropy if and only if for any x∈CR(f)-P(f) and each natural number s the orbit of x under f^5 has a division; (2) If f has zero topological entropy,then for any xECR(f)--P(f) the w-limit set of x is an infinite minimal set.

设f是个端点数为n的树T上的连续自映射.本文得到了f的单侧不稳定流形与拓扑熵的关系,并证明了:（1）如果x∈i=0∞fi（Ω（f））-P（f）,那么,x的轨道是无限的;（2）如果f有一组可循环的不动点,那么h（f）≥In2（n-1）.     

A Note on Topological Entropy of Maps

For a given collection of subsets of a compact metric space X which cover X,the entropies,hm(f)and hi(f),are introduced for a continuous map f of X to itseif. Also the concept of shadowing property with same end point (SPSEP for short) is introduced. The main results are,(1)H(f)≤hi(f)+hm(f)and,(2)h(f)=hm(f)whenever f has SPSEP,where h(f) is the topological entropy of f. Moreover,several corollaries are obtained.

Invariant Metrics on Nilmanifolds with Positive Topological Entropy

Let T _n denote the group of real n × n upper-triangular matrices with 1s on the diagonal. This paper constructs left-invariant Riemannian and sub-Riemannian metrics on T ₃ T ₄ whose geodesic flow has a subsystem that factors onto a suspended horseshoe. As a corollary, left-invariant Riemannian metrics with positive topological entropy are constructed on all quotients DT _n where D is a discrete subgroup of T _n and n 7.     

Topological Anosov Maps of Non-compact Metric Spaces

Let X be a metric space. We say that a continuous surjection f: X→X is a topological Anosov map (abbrev. TA-map) if f is expansive and has pseudo-orbit tracing property with respect to some compatible metric for X. This paper studies the properties of TA-maps of non-compact metric spaces and gives some conditions for the map to be topologically mixing.
