The paper is concerned with finite element (FE) analysis of stress transfer from an elastic matrix to an elastic fibre, which need not be a uniform cylinder, in a fibre-reinforced composite material. Axisymmetric models of fibres embedded in co-axial cylindrical matrices were investigated by the FE method. Fibre shapes investigated were cylindrical, ellipsoidal, paraboloidal taper and conical taper. The effects of varying the fibre aspect ratio, q (ranging 200 to 3500) and Young's modulus (relative to that of the matrix), E f /E m (ranging 103 to 106) were investigated. The results show that ellipsoidal and parabolic tapers lead to a similar distribution of interfacial shear stress (τ) to that observed for a uniform cylindrical fibre, except that the magnitude of the stress is higher. For a conical taper (except for q = 200, E f /E m = 106), the interfacial stress increases to a maximum between the centre and the end of the fibre and then decreases towards the fibre ends. The effect of fibre taper on the distribution of τvalues is reflected in the axial tensile stress, σz , distribution induced in a fibre. For example, for a fibre with a conical taper, the distribution of τ values can lead to an even distribution of σz along the length of a fibre.  相似文献

采用半固态搅拌铸造法制备Al Si7-Si C复合材料,并利用真空压铸工艺实现了其近净成形,结合第一性原理计算方法研究了共晶Si对Si C颗粒和基体界面结合强度的影响.结果显示,在Al Si7-Si C复合材料中,发现较为严重的共晶Si偏析现象,当Si C颗粒同时处于共晶Si和α-Al边界时,形成了少量的共晶Si夹杂、被大量共晶Si包裹、完全被共晶Si包裹三种典型的界面.第一性原理计算结果显示,在C端和Si端的Si/Si C界面中,弛豫后top Si1配位方式具有最大的粘附功,与Al/Si C界面相比,Si/Si C界面具有更高的结合强度.Si偏析相提高了界面处的电荷密度,因而具有更好的界面结构稳定性.  相似文献

The presented paper deals with a unidirectional steel wire reinforced aluminum matrix composite manufactured by composite extrusion. The main objective of this work was to determine the effect of heat treatment, and the influence of long solution annealing times on the composites interface regarding microstructural changes and the resulting interface strength. For evaluation of the microstructure high resolution transmission electron microscope (TEM) investigations accompanied with electron dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) were performed. It could be shown that diffusion from the steel wire into the aluminum matrix occurs and that the diffusion paths as well as particle formation is influenced by the preceded heat treatment. Diffusion paths in the range of 40–150 nm could be observed for Al, Fe, Cr and Ni. After annealing times over 5 h an extensive growth of an intermetallic reaction layer was found. The mechanical properties of the interface were determined by push-out-tests and tensile tests radial to the interface, which provided the debonding shear strength σdeb and for the latter experiment the interfacial radial strength σIR. It has become apparent that debonding shear strength is highly influenced by matrix properties. In radial tensile tests the failure is predominantly controlled by the chemical bond of the interface. It was shown that interface strength of specimen with small reaction zones of about 3 μm were beneficial for the mechanical behavior in both loading conditions. Longer annealing times showed a drastic decrease of interface shear strength. It was concluded from EDX measurements and in comparison with literature that the reaction zone is dominated by the growth of Al5Fe2 (η-phase).  相似文献

Single crystalline Al2O3 fibres (sapphire), coated with the NiAl alloy IP75 by physical vapour deposition (PVD), were assembled to fabricate composites by means of diffusion bonding. The microstructure and chemistry of both as-coated fibre and as-diffusion bonded composites were investigated by electron microscopy and microanalysis. The interface shear stress for complete debonding was measured by fibre push-out tests at room temperature, and the composite tensile strength was measured at 900°C and 1100°C. An amorphous layer with a thickness of about 400?nm formed between the fibre and the matrix during the PVD process and was maintained during diffusion bonding. A Laves phase precipitated along NiAl grain boundaries in the IP75 matrix. This caused a lower tensile strength of the IP75/Al2O3 composite at high temperatures compared to as-cast monolithic IP75 and rendered the composite useless for structural applications.  相似文献

Since 1998 the primitive relaxation time τ 0(T,P) of the Coupling Model (CM) and the Johari-Goldstein (JG) β-relaxation time τJG (T,P) are shown approximately equal in many glass-formers. The CM relation between τ 0(T,P) and τα (T,P) at any T and P is exact. Additionally from the CM relation τα (T,P)/τ 0(T,P) is exactly invariant to variations of T and P while τα (T,P) is kept constant, and τ 0 is exactly a function of ρ γ/T like τα . However, since τJG (T,P) ≈ τ 0(T,P), the exact invariance of τα (T,P)/τ 0(T,P) leads to approximate invariance of τα (T,P)/τJG (T,P), and τJG is approximately a function of ρ γ/T. Notwithstanding, the CM prediction of the approximate relations between τβ and τα were mistaken as exact relations by some researchers. In this paper, we remove this misunderstanding by demonstrating via simulations and experiments that the JG β-relaxation is comprised of processes with different length-scales and degrees of cooperativity, and the process is heterogeneous. The distribution of processes makes τJG (T,P) equivocal, because it is just a single relaxation time used to represent the different processes within the distribution, which may change on varying T and P, at constant τα (T,P). The problem is compounded if the β-relaxation is not resolved, and fitting procedure used to extract τJG (T,P) and τα (T,P). Despite the relations of τJG (T,P) to τα (T,P) are approximate, we show these properties of τJG (T,P) are truly remarkable, fundamental, general, and important.  相似文献

The interphase in polyethylene fibre/epoxy matrix composites is studied with FT-IR microspectroscopy using a set-up to investigate the matrix as close to the fibre as a few μm or less. It is shown that moisture present on the fibre surface is able to influence the polymerization reaction of the epoxy/anhydride matrix in an irreversible manner. This effect is enhanced for composites from the more hydrophilic polyvinylalcohol fibre. The fibre/matrix interaction in these thermoplastic fibre composites is also studied with DSC through the characterization of the fibre melting. A decreased 'DSC interaction parameter' is found if the composition of the interphase is changed by moisture. For a composite with an epoxy/amine matrix, on the other hand, the DSC interaction parameter is unaffected by moisture from the fibre surface.  相似文献

Experimental and theoretical photoabsorption cross sections combined with constraints provided by the Kuhn–Reiche–Thomas sum rule, the high-energy behaviour of the dipole oscillator strength density, static dipole polarisabilities, and molar refractivity data when available are used to construct dipole oscillator strength distributions for PH3, PF3, PF5, PCl3, SiCl4, GeCl4, and SnCl4. The distributions are used to predict dipole sum rules S(k), mean excitation energies I(k), and van der Waals C6 coefficients.  相似文献

Proton solid-echo transverse relaxation functions for many thermotropic and lyotropic mesophases, mapped by measurement of the echo amplitude Syx (t′ = τ) as a function of τ using a Py (90°)-τ-Px (90°)-t′ sequence, yield gaussian behaviour of the form exp [-½M E 2τ2] for decays up to 20–30 per cent of the value at τ = 0. M E 2, the second moment for the dipolar interactions between the spin-½ pairs, is related to the van Vleck second moment M VV 2 through a factor f. Whilst experiments suggested a value of 0·70–0·72 for f = M E 2/M VV 2, simple models that ignored the non-equivalence of the dipolar-coupled spin-pairs had predicted f = 0·65. In this paper we derive an exact analytic expression for the spin response of a model of two dipolar-coupled inequivalent spins-1 to the pulse sequence Py (90°)-τ-P α(β)-t′, and show that the present model, with the quenching of the spin-flip terms of the dipolar hamiltonian, resolves the afore-mentioned discrepancy. We also reconcile the differences between the experimental and the earlier predicted values of f for deuteron N.M.R. spin echoes in perdeuterated solids.  相似文献

The dielectric properties of nano Si/C/N composite powder and nano SiC powder at high frequencies have been studied. The nano Si/C/N composite powder and nano SiC powder were synthesized from hexamethyldisilazane ((Me3Si)2NH) (Me:CH3) and SiH4–C2H2, respectively, by a laser-induced gas-phase reaction. The complex permittivities of the nano Si/C/N composite powder and nano SiC powder were measured at a frequency range of 8.2–12.4 GHz. The real part (′) and imaginary part (″) of the complex permittivity, and dissipation factor (tg δ=″/′) of nano Si/C/N composite powder are much higher than those of nano SiC powder and bulk SiC, Si3N4, SiO2, and Si, especially the tg δ. The promising features of nano Si/C/N composite powder would be due to more complicated Si, C, and N atomic chemical environment than in a mixture of pure SiC and Si3N4 phase. The charged defects and quasi-free electrons moved in response to the electric field, diffusion or polarization current resulted from the field propagation. Because there exists graphite in the nano Si/C/N composite powder, some charge carries are related to the sp3 dangling bonds (of silicon and carbon) and unsaturated sp2 carbons. The high ″ and tg δ of nano Si/C/N composite powder were due to the dielectric relaxation. The nano Si/C/N composite powder would be a good candidate for electromagnetic interface shielding material.  相似文献

Epitaxial 3C-SiC grains are formed at 1190 °C in the top region of silicon, when Si wafers coated by SiO2 are annealed in CO atmosphere. The formed SiC grains are 40-50 nm high and 100 nm wide in cross-section and contain only few defects. Main advantage of the method is that the final structure is free of voids.The above method is further developed for the generation of SiC nanocrystals, embedded in SiO2 on Si, and aligned parallel with the interface. The nanometer-sized SiC grains were grown into SiO2 close to the Si/SiO2 interface by a two-step annealing of oxide covered Si: first in a CO, than in a pure O2 atmosphere. The first (carbonization) step created epitaxial SiC crystallites grown into the Si surface, while the second (oxidation) step moved the interface beyond them. Conventional and high resolution cross-sectional electron microscopy showed pyramidal Si protrusions at the Si/SiO2 interface under the grains. The size of the grains, as well as their distance from the Si/SiO2 interface (peak of pyramids) can be controlled by the annealing process parameters. The process can be repeated and SiC nanocrystals (oriented in the same way) can be produced in a multilevel structure.  相似文献

The rearrangement was investigated of crystallographic domains in the antiferromagnetic pseudo-tetragonal phase in CoO (Néel temperature: 293 K) when the domains were driven by a magnetic field. A rearrangement is generally observed in ferromagnetic shape-memory alloys. The rearrangement was found to occur at temperatures between 170 K and 293 K, but not at temperatures below 170 K. In order to determine the reason for such a difference, the shear stress driven by a magnetic field, τ mag, was calculated and compared with the shear stress required for twinning plane movement, τ req. It was found that τ mag is equal to or larger than τ req whenever the rearrangement of crystallographic domains occurs due to the application of a magnetic field, and vice versa. This observation is similar to past observations in the case of many ferromagnetic shape-memory alloys.  相似文献

A model is proposed to correlate the interfacial shear strength at the fibre-matrix interface, measured by means of a fragmentation test on single fibre composites, to the reversible work of adhesion between both solids, this quantity being defined as the sum of the dispersive and the acid-base interactions (physical interactions) between the fibre and the matrix. Whatever the nature of the fibres and the matrices, a linear relationship, passing through the origin, is established between the interfacial shear strength and the reversible work of adhesion. However, the slope of this straight line depends on the elastic properties and, more precisely, on the elastic moduli of both the fibre and the matrix. This leads us to express the reversible work of adhesion as the product of a mean intermolecular distance at the interface and an adhesive pressure related to the interfacial shear strength. The limits of the theoretical and experimental approaches leading to the establishment of such a model, as well as its domain of validity, are discussed.  相似文献

本文对用C-V法提取SiC隐埋沟道MOSFET沟道载流子浓度的方法进行了理论和实验分析. pn结的存在所造成的埋沟MOS结构C-V曲线的畸变为沟道载流子浓度的提取带来一些问题. SiC/SiO2界面上界面态的存在也会使提取出的数值与实际数值产生偏差. 本文首先从理论上分别分析了沟道深度和界面态对沟道载流子浓度提取结果的影响,然后对两种沟道深度的埋沟MOS结构C-V曲线进行了测试,提取出了沟道掺杂浓度. 在测试中,采用不同的扫描速率,分析了界面态对提取结果的影响. 理论分析结果和实验测 关键词: C-V法 SiC 隐埋沟道MOSFET 沟道载流子浓度  相似文献

We study the size distribution of coding and non-coding regions in DNA sequences. For most organisms we observe that the size distribution P c(S) of the coding regions of size S shows short range distribution, whereas the size distribution of the non-coding regions follows a power-law decay P nc(S) S –1 – , with power exponents indicating clear long-range behavior. We argue, using the Generalized Central Limit Theorem, that the long-range distributions observed in the non-coding are related to the lower level clustering of purines and pyrimidines (1d islands) which follow similar long-range laws. We also address the question of clustering of coding segments in the two complementary strands of DNA. We observe a short-range clustering of coding regions in both strands, expressed by an exponential decay in the clustering size distribution. The decay exponent expresses the degree of short-range correlations and the deviation from random clustering.  相似文献

By means of a transfer matrix method, we show that the residual entropy S of the two-dimensional square lattice antiferromagnetic Ising model in the maximal critical field satisfies (ln λ n )/(n+1)≤S≤(ln λ n )/n, where λ n is the largest eigenvalue of the transfer matrix F n on a strip of width n. We derive the relativistic Hamiltonian of hydrogen atom in dynamical non-commutative spaces (DNCS or τ-space). Using this Hamiltonian we calculate the energy shift of the ground state as well the 2P 1/2, 2S 1/2 levels. In all the cases, the energy shift depends on the dynamical non-commutative parameter τ. Using the accuracy of the energy measurement, we obtain an upper bound for τ. We also study the Lamb shift in DNCS. Both 2P 1/2 and 2S 1/2 levels receive corrections due to dynamical non-commutativity of space which is in contrast with the non-dynamical non-commutative spaces (NDNCS or ??-space) in which the 2S 1/2 level receives no correction.  相似文献

Boron nitride thin films were deposited on silicon carbide fibers by chemical vapor deposition at atmospheric pressure from the single source precursor B-trichloroborazine (Cl3B3N3H3, TCB). The film growth and structure, as a function of deposition temperature, hydrogen gas flow rate, and deposition time, were discussed. The deposition rate reaches a maximum at 1000 °C, then decreases with the increasing of temperature, and the apparent activation energy of the reaction is 127 kJ/mol. Above 1000 °C, gas-phase nucleation determines the deposition process. The deposited BN films were characterized by Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effect of BN interphase on the mechanical properties of the unidirectional SiC fiber-reinforced SiC matrix (SiC/SiC) composites was also investigated. The results show that the flexural strength of SiC/SiC composites with and without coating is 276 MPa and 70 MPa, respectively, which indicates that BN interphase coating deposited from B-trichloroborazine precursor can effectively adjust the fiber/matrix interface, thus causing a dramatic increase in the mechanical properties of the composites.  相似文献

The models for single-fiber push out test are developed to evaluate the fracture toughness GIIc of the fiber/matrix interface in titanium alloys reinforced by SiC monofilaments. The models are based on fracture mechanics, taking into consideration of the free-end surface and Poisson expansion. Theoretical solutions to GIIc are obtained, and the effects of several key factors such as the initial crack length, crack length, friction coefficient, and interfacial frictional shear stress are discussed. The predictions by the models are compared with the previous finite element analysis results for the interfacial toughness of the composites including Sigma1240/Ti-6-4, SCS/Ti-6-4, SCS/Timetal 834, and SCS/Timetal 21s. The results show that the models can reliably predict the interfacial toughness of the titanium matrix composites, in which interfacial debonding usually occurs at the bottom of the samples.  相似文献
