Summary CCD images of comet P/Halley taken from Catania Observatory in April 1986 with IHW filters are analysed. On scale distances up to and larger than 200·103 km these images show the presence of jets in the Cont 6850, H2O+ and C2 filters. The jet maximum intensity is at <1000 km from the nucleus for dust, at (20÷30)·103km for H2O+ and at (60÷90)·103km for C2, implying 2·104s or 105s formation time for the last two molecules. Comparison of various images shows that H2O+ and C2 jets are in very different directions, the first one coinciding with the main dust jet, the second one appearing as a continuation in space of a very short dust jet. It is speculated that dust grains have very different sizes and chemical composition from the moment they leave the cometary nucleus, and that grains in the small dust jet undergo fragmentation and chemical reactions to produce C2 jets.  相似文献

Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) investigation of Oltu-stone (natural carbon black) and jet revealed several differences between these carbonaceous materials. The band peaking at about 1000 cm?1 is the first important difference: while the band in the jet spectra appears as one sharp peak at about 1001 cm?1, the similar band in the Oltu-stone spectra is shifted to about 1026 cm?1 with a broad shoulder toward high frequency. Even though the assignment of the shifted band is at present controversial, it may be attributed to carbon-oxygen stretching mode. Second, the doublet bands at about 2912 and 2843 cm?1 are much more intense in the jet spectra then in the Oltu-stone spectra. They are confidently attributed to aliphatic C-H stretching mode. Finally, the broad water band on setting at about 3750 cm?1 is maturated in Oltu-stone, and it is much more evident than in that of jet.

Therefore, FT-IR appears as a favorable identification method for these kinds of carbonaceous materials.  相似文献

High resolution infrared spectra have been measured for mixtures of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane in Ne, expanded in a supersonic planar jet. The ν14 fundamental is an essentially unperturbed C-type band, exhibiting many ΔKc=±2 transitions. Accurate excited state rotational and distortion constants have been determined from an analysis of about 1250 transitions, by using Watson’s Hamiltonian in the S-reduction. A local perturbation has been observed with a crossing at Ka=11 for J values between 17 and 18, and could be accounted for by a x-Coriolis interaction with a perturbing vibrational level of A symmetry at about 1205.53(1) cm−1. Due to the very efficient cooling in the jet, the rotational temperature resulted to be about 20 K, and no evidence of hot-band absorption was found.  相似文献

Present study investigated the development of ionization waves in an atmospheric‐pressure plasma jet. Plasma was ignited by 6 kHz sinusoidal voltage applied to a cylindrical electrode surrounding the 500 μm inner diameter quartz tube and positioned 10 mm upstream from the tube orifice. The plasma current was observed using a plane electrode placed 20 mm downstream from the tube orifice. The spatial development of ionization waves was monitored by registering the optical emission along the axis of the tube. At voltages in range of 5.5 ‐ 7.5 kV only one pulse occurred during positive half‐period while at higher voltages the number of pulses increased up to 6 ‐ 7 per half‐period. The development of the first and subsequent pulses during one half‐period was essentially different. For the first pulse the sharp rise of optical emission characterizing the front of the ionization wave occurred initially near the high‐voltage electrode and moved towards the tube orifice and further in the He jet. The propagation of ionization wave coincided with the rise of the displacement current measured at the plane electrode. For subsequent ionization waves of the same half‐period, the emission occurred initially at the tube orifice and the ionization wave developed simultaneously in two directions: towards the high‐voltage electrode and towards the end of the jet. The velocity of ionization wave inside the tube was in range of (2. 5 ‐ 5.0) · 104 m/s for first wave and as high as 1.2 · 105 m/s for subsequent waves. (© 2016 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. In this work, the expansion dynamics of a helium plasma jet in ambient air is examined. By using a fast imaging technique, the expansion of plasma jet from glass nozzle to air is captured which is in the form of plasma bullet propagating into the air. To understand the plasma bullet travel path from glass nozzle to plasma jet tip a drag force model is used. Moreover, the spatial variation of plasma density along the plasma jet length is estimated using drift velocity, plasma jet current and the cross-sectional area of the plasma jet. It is observed that the slight increase in plasma density is due to the combined effect of reduction of drift velocity, plasma jet current, and jet cross-sectional area. The obtained plasma density from glass nozzle to jet tip is in the range of (0.069-5.96) × 1012 cm−3. The above parameters can be of the essence in biological and industrial applications.  相似文献

为了减小流体对固体壁面的阻力, 基于蚯蚓生物学特征, 对蚯蚓背孔射流特性进行分析, 建立仿蚯蚓背孔射流的仿生射流表面计算模型, 采用SST k-ω 湍流模型对仿生射流表面的减阻特性进行数值模拟, 同时对数值模拟结果进行实验验证, 并以此研究了仿蚯蚓背孔射流表面的减阻机理.结果表明, 在一定条件下, 仿蚯蚓背孔射流的仿生射流表面具有较好的减阻效果; 在同一射流方向角下, 随着射流速度的增加, 减阻率逐渐增大; 在同一射流速度下, 随着射流方向角的增加, 减阻率呈先减小后增大的变化趋势; 数值模拟与实验均在射流速度为1 m·s-1、射流方向角为-30°时达到最大, 分别为8.69%, 7.86%; 射流表面改变了原有光滑壁面的边界层结构, 对壁面边界层进行了有效的控制, 减小了壁面的剪应力, 降低了壁面边界层的速度.  相似文献

Liquid jets are of interest, both for their industrial relevance and for scientific applications (more important, in particular for X‐rays, after the advent of free‐electron lasers that require liquid jets as sample carrier). Instability mechanisms have been described theoretically and by numerical simulation, but confirmed by few experimental techniques. In fact, these are mainly based on cameras, which is limited by the imaging resolution, and on light scattering, which is hindered by absorption, reflection, Mie scattering and multiple scattering due to complex air/liquid interfaces during jet break‐up. In this communication it is demonstrated that synchrotron small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS) can give quantitative information on liquid jet dynamics at the nanoscale, by detecting time‐dependent morphology and break‐up length. Jets ejected from circular tubes of different diameters (100–450 µm) and speeds (0.7–21 m s?1) have been explored to cover the Rayleigh and first wind‐induced regimes. Various solvents (water, ethanol, 2‐propanol) and their mixtures have been examined. The determination of the liquid jet behaviour becomes essential, as it provides background data in subsequent studies of chemical and biological reactions using SAXS or X‐ray diffraction based on synchrotron radiation and free‐electron lasers.  相似文献

This paper assesses the suitability of the inflow Reynolds number defined by ReoUoD/ν (here Uo and D are respectively the initial jet velocity and diameter while ν is kinematic viscosity) for a round air/air jet. Specifically an experimental investigation is performed for the influences of Uo, D and Reo on the mean-velocity decay and spread coefficients (Ku, Kr) in the far field of a circular air jet into air from a smoothly contracting nozzle. Present measurements agree well with those previously obtained under similar inflow conditions. The relations KuUo and Kr ∝ 1/Uo for Uo < 5 m/s appear to work, while each coefficient approaches asymptotically to a constant for Uo > 6 m/s, regardless of the magnitudes of Reo and D. It is revealed that Reo may not be an appropriate dimensionless parameter to characterize the entire flow of a free air/air jet. This paper is the first paper that has challenged the suitability of Reo for turbulent free jets.  相似文献

This paper reports that a new plasma generator at atmospheric pressure, which is composed of two homocentric cylindrical all-metal tubes, successfully generates a cold plasma jet. The inside tube electrode is connected to ground, the outside tube electrode is connected to a high-voltage power supply, and a dielectric layer is covered on the outside tube electrode. When the reactor is operated by low-frequency (6 kHz--20 kHz) AC supply in atmospheric pressure and argon is steadily fed as a discharge gas through inside tube electrode, a cold plasma jet is blown out into air and the plasma gas temperature is only 25--30℃. The electric character of the discharge is studied by using digital real-time oscilloscope (TDS 200-Series), and the discharge is capacitive. Preliminary results are presented on the decontamination of E.colis bacteria and Bacillus subtilis bacteria by this plasma jet, and an optical emission analysis of the plasma jet is presented in this paper. The ozone concentration generated by the plasma jet is 1.0×1016cm-3 which is acquired by using the ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy.  相似文献

The high-resolution infrared spectrum of the polar N2O dimer has been observed in the region of the N2O ν3 fundamental (∼1280 cm−1) using a tunable diode laser to probe a pulsed supersonic slit jet. About 120 rotational transitions were assigned in terms of an a/b hybrid band of a planar asymmetric top molecule with a slipped parallel structure. The vibrational origin was determined to be 1290.21 cm−1, showing a blue shift of 5.31 cm−1 with respect to the monomer band origin. In addition, the spectrum of the nonpolar isomer at 1279.71 cm−1 has been remeasured and analyzed in improved detail. Small but widespread perturbations are noted in this band, which appear somewhat similar to larger effects observed previously in the ν1 + ν3 region for nonpolar (N2O)2.  相似文献

We observed green optical emission from an atmospheric-pressure N2/O2 plasma jet. The green optical emission was composed of a line emission at λ = 557.71 ± 0.03 nm and a broadband component at 530 ≤ λ ≤ 560 nm . The line emission was assigned to the 1D1S forbidden transition of atomic oxygen, whereas the broadband emission was due to the formation of O(1S)N2 excimer. We measured the absolute densities of O(1S) and O(1S)N2 using a spectrograph with the absolute sensitivity calibration, and we discussed the kinetics in the green plasma jet on the basis of the absolute O(1S) and O(1S)N2 densities. According to the rate coefficients and the transition probabilities reported in literature, the present experimental results are explained if the densities of and O(3P) are 9 × 1013 and 3 × 1013cm−3 , respectively.  相似文献

Laser ablation in liquids is growing in popularity for various applications including nanoparticle production, breakdown spectroscopy, and surface functionalization. When laser pulse ablates the solid target submerged in liquid, a cavitation bubble develops. In case of “finite” geometries of ablated solids, liquid dynamical phenomena can occur inside the bubble when the bubble overflows the surface edge. To observe this dynamics, we use diffuse illumination of a flashlamp in combination with a high-speed videography by exposure times down to 250 ns. The developed theoretical modelling and its comparison with the experimental observations clearly prove that this approach widens the observable area inside the bubble. We thereby use it to study the dynamics of laser-induced cavitation bubble during its expansion over a sharp-edge (“cliff-like” 90°) geometry submerged in water, ethanol, and polyethylene glycol 300. The samples are 17 mm wide stainless steel plates with thickness in the range of 0.025–2 mm. Bubbles are induced on the samples by 1064-nm laser pulses with pulse durations of 7–60 ns and pulse energies of 10–55 mJ. We observe formation of a fixed-type secondary cavity behind the edge where low-pressure area develops due to bubble-driven flow of the liquid. This occurs when the velocity of liquid overflow exceeds ~20 m s−1. A re-entrant liquid injection with up to ~40 m s−1 velocity may occur inside the bubble when the bubble overflows the edge of the sample. Formation and characteristics of the jet evidently depend on the relation between the breakdown-edge offset and the bubble energy, as well as the properties of the surrounding liquid. Higher viscosity of the liquid prevents the generation of the jet.  相似文献

The diode laser absorption infrared spectrum of fluorobenzene has been recorded near 1230 cm−1 after cooling the molecules in a supersonic pulsed jet. Spectral lines have been assigned to the ν7a fundamental band. Transitions of J between 32 and 49 have been recorded, that show characteristic line groupings in the P branch. Analysis of the spectrum gives the vibrational band origin and rotational and centrifugal distortion constants of the molecule in the ν7a = 1 state.  相似文献

针对主流无载气、副流以氮气为载气的氧碘化学激光(COIL),应用求解3维多组分化学反应流方程的数值方法,对流场和物理化学的耦合过程进行细致研究,对副流载气变化带来的问题及性能提升的手段、特别是合理的配气方式进行深入分析。结果表明:传统的在亚声速段进行喷流的配气方式不适用于主流无载气N2-COIL系统,必须采用超声速段射流方式;合理的流量配比条件下,超声速段射流方式COIL光腔位置处增益可达1.5%cm-1;N2-COIL流场边界层厚度明显减小,拓宽了增益的有效分布区域。  相似文献

本文通过对高背压(50 bar, 1 bar = 1.0×105 Pa)氩气经长锥型喷嘴(长度L=30 mm)向真空绝热膨胀所形成的超声气体团簇喷流的数值模拟, 分析比较了由喷嘴喉口起沿喷流方向在喷流中心轴线上团簇平均尺寸的演化情况. 结果表明: 沿喷流方向团簇平均尺寸显示先增长后趋于饱和的变化趋势, 具有较大尺寸团簇的区域出现在距离喷嘴喉口大约20 mm. 据此本文再结合关于喷流中原子密度沿喷流方向变化的模拟结果开展了锥形喷嘴长度的优化研究. 针对由常见构型的锥形喷嘴(喉径~ 0.5 mm, 半张角~ 8.5°)在高背压下形成的团簇喷流, 20 mm左右的长度为锥形喷嘴的适宜长度.  相似文献

We have recorded the fluorescence excitation spectra of three heterocyclic compounds with a chain structure [BPO (2-phenyl-5-(4-diphenylyl)oxazole), POPOP (1,4-di[2-(5-phenyloxazolyl)]benzene, and TOPOT (1,4-di[2-(5-n-tolyloxazolyl)]benzene] and the fluorescence spectra of POPOP, under conditions where the molecules were cooled in an ultrasonic helium jet. A line structure is observed in the spectra of POPOP and TOPOT; for the BPO molecules, whose configuration changes considerably during electronic excitation, vibrational structure is apparent only in the low-frequency region of the excitation spectrum, and a diffuse spectrum is recorded starting from ν 0 0 + 200 cm−1. For all the compounds, in the spectra we recorded vibrations with frequencies up to 100 cm−1, arising due to the flexibility of the molecular structure. The rotational contours of the lines for the electronic and vibronic transitions of the POPOP molecules (Trot = 10.5 K) and TOPOT molecules (Trot = 15 K) are structureless and bell-shaped. The degree of polarization of the fluorescence Pfl for the jet-cooled POPOP molecules for excitation of vibrations along the absorption band up to 2000 cm−1 above ν 0 0 is practically constant (∼8.4%) and matches Pfl for high-temperature vapors. __________ Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Spektroskopii, Vol. 73, No. 6, pp. 728–734, November–December, 2006.  相似文献

The infrared spectrum of (12C18O)2 has been studied for the first time using a tunable diode laser spectrometer in the 2095 cm−1 region to probe a pulsed supersonic jet expansion. Very dilute gas mixtures of CO in He were used, resulting in small consumption of 12C18O sample gas, as well as cold and simple spectra. The results were analyzed using a term value scheme to obtain model-independent energies for 7 rotational levels belonging to 2 stacks in the lower state, vCO=0, and 22 levels belonging to 7 stacks in the upper state, vCO=1. The two ground state isomers of the CO dimer were found to be separated by only 0.639 cm−1 for (12C18O)2. These results provide a foundation for future studies of the millimeter wave spectrum.  相似文献
