Function spaces play an important role in complex analysis, in the theory of differential equations, in functional analysis and in almost every other branch of modern mathematics. In this paper we give and study the notion of clopen convergence. Also, we study the notion of clopen continuity and define new topologies on function spaces. These results generalize basic results of R. Arens, J. Dugundji and A. Di Concilio (see [1], [4], [2] and [3]).  相似文献

In this paper we consider the Cauchy problem as a typical example of ill-posed boundary-value problems. We obtain the necessary and (separately) sufficient conditions for the solvability of the Cauchy problem for a Dirac operator A in Sobolev spaces in a bounded domain D ? ? n with a piecewise smooth boundary. Namely, we reduce the Cauchy problem for the Dirac operator to the problem of harmonic extension from a smaller domain to a larger one. Moreover, along with the solvability conditions for the problem, using bases with double orthogonality, we construct a Carleman formula for recovering a function u in a Sobolev space H s (D), s ∈ ?, from its values on Γ and values Au in D, where Γ is an open connected subset of the boundary ?D. It is worth pointing out that we impose no assumptions about geometric properties of the domain D, except for its connectedness.  相似文献

Let X denote a specific space of the class of X α,p Banach sequence spaces which were constructed by Hagler and the first named author as classes of hereditarily ℓp Banach spaces. We show that for p > 1 the Banach space X contains asymptotically isometric copies of ℓp. It is known that any member of the class is a dual space. We show that the predual of X contains isometric copies of ℓp where 1/p + 1/q = 1. For p = 1 it is known that the predual of the Banach space X contains asymptotically isometric copies of c 0. Here we give a direct proof of the known result that X contains asymptotically isometric copies of ℓ1.  相似文献

In the applications it may occur that our initial pseudorandom binary sequence turns out to be not long enough, thus we have to take the concatenation or merging of it with other pseudorandom binary sequences. Here our goal is study when we can form the concatenation of several pseudorandom binary sequences belonging to a given family? The main result of this paper is a fixed point theorem of self-mappings in Menger spaces which satisfy certain inequality. This inequality involves a class of real functions which we call Φ-functions. As a corollary we obtain a result in the corresponding metric spaces. The result is supported by an example. The class of real functions we have used is the conceptual extension of altering distance functions used in metric fixed point theory.   相似文献

In a recent paper [3], D. Buhagiar and B. A. Pasynkov introduced the notion of a supercomplete space and established an internal characterization of these spaces. It is clear that the proof of this characterization actually characterizes c--supercomplete spaces. In this short note we state the correct formulation and give a counterexample. We introduce the concept of a strongly relatively nonexpansive sequence in a Banach space and investigate its properties. In this paper we study in Banach spaces the existence of fixed points of (nonlinear) asymptotically regular semigroups. We establish for these semigroups some fixed point theorems in spaces with weak uniform normal structure, in a Hilbert space, inL p spaces, in Hardy spacesH p and in Sobolev spacesW r.p for 1<p<∞ andr≥0, in spaces with Lifshitz’s constant greater than one. If the unit sphere of a Banach space X can be covered by countably many balls no one of which contains the origin, then, as an easy consequence of the separation theorem, X* is w*-separable. We prove the converse under suitable renorming. Moreover, the balls of the countable covering can be chosen as translates of the same ball. Research of V. P. We present a characterization of the open unit ball in a separable infinite dimensional Hilbert space by the property of automorphism orbits among the domains that are not necessarily bounded. This generalizes the recent work of Kim and Krantz [6]. Key new features of this article include: a lower bound estimate of the Kobayashi metric and distance near a pluri-subharmonic peak boundary point of the domains in Banach spaces, an effective localization argument, and an improvement of weak-type convergence of sequences of biholomorphic mappings of domains in Banach spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we have developed a model to find the best control which will minimize the control effort to take the system near the target which is only approximately controllable, by a functional analytic approach. Ahlswede, Khachatrian, Mauduit and A. Sárközy introduced the notion of family-complexity of families of binary sequences. They estimated the family-complexity of a large family related to Legendre symbol introduced by Goubin, Mauduit and Sárközy. Here their result is improved, and apart from the constant factor the best lower bound is given for the family-complexity.  相似文献
