Given a holomorphic regularisation procedure (e.g. Riesz or dimensional regularisation) on classical symbols, we define renormalised multiple integrals of radial classical symbols with linear constraints. To do so, we first prove the existence of meromorphic extensions of multiple integrals of holomorphic perturbations of radial symbols with linear constraints and then implement either generalised evaluators or a Birkhoff factorisation. Renormalised multiple integrals are covariant and factorise over independent sets of constraints.  相似文献

We use Padoa's principle of independence of primitive symbols in axiomatic systems in order to discuss the mathematical role of time and spacetime in some classical physical theories. We show that time is eliminable in Newtonian mechanics and that spacetime is also dispensable in Hamiltonian mechanics, Maxwell's electromagnetic theory, the Dirac electron, classical gauge fields, and general relativity.  相似文献

We prove that the rescaled upper and lower symbols for arbitrary generalised quantum spin systems converge in the classical limit. Here we formulate some theorems on convergence of solutions of non-relativistic quantum mechanics equations and probability distributions for quantum observables to the corresponding classical solutions and distributions. We discuss a conjecture which says that the automorphism group of the Weyl algebra in characteristic zero is canonically isomorphic to the automorphism group of the corresponding Poisson algebra of classical polynomial symbols. Chaotic dynamics of a classical prey-predator-superpredator ecological model are considered. Although much is known about the behavior of the model numerically, very few results have been proven analytically. A new analytical result is obtained. It is demonstrated that there exists a subset on which a singular Poincare map generated by the model is conjugate to the shift map on two symbols. The existence of such a Poincare map is due to two conditions: the assumption that each species has its own time scale ranging from fast for the prey to slow for the superpredator, and the existence of transcritical points, leading to the classical mathematical phenomenon of Pontryagin's delay of loss of stability. This chaos generating mechanism is new, neither suspected in abstract form nor recognized in numerical experiments in the literature.  相似文献

Abstract

Let M be an odd-dimensional Euclidean space endowed with a contact 1-form α. We investigate the space of symmetric contravariant tensor fields over M as a module over the Lie algebra of contact vector fields, i.e. over the Lie subalgebra made up of those vector fields that preserve the contact structure defined by a. If we consider symmetric tensor fields with coefficients in tensor densities (also called symbols), the vertical cotangent lift of the contact form a defines a contact invariant operator. We also extend the classical contact Hamiltonian to the space of symbols. This generalized Hamiltonian operator on the space of symbols is invariant with respect to the action of the projective contact algebra sp(2n+2) the algebra of vector fields which preserve both the contact structure and the projective structure of the Euclidean space. These two operators lead to a decomposition of the space of symbols, except for some critical density weights, which generalizes a splitting proposed by V. Ovsienko in [18].  相似文献

We prove shuffle relations which relate a product of regularised integrals of classical symbols to regularised nested iterated integrals:
where Σ k is the group of permutations over k elements. We show that these shuffle relations hold if all the symbols σ i have vanishing residue; this is true of non-integer order symbols on which the regularised integrals have all the expected properties such as Stokes’ property [MMP]. In general the shuffle relations hold up to finite parts of corrective terms arising from a renormalisation on tensor products of classical symbols, a procedure adapted from renormalisation methods to compute Feynman diagrams familiar to physicists. We relate the shuffle relations for regularised integrals of symbols with shuffle relations for multiple zeta functions adapting the above constructions to the case of a symbol on the unit circle.  相似文献

We present the construction of quantum error-locating(QEL) codes based on classical error-locating(EL)codes. Similar to classical EL codes, QEL codes lie midway between quantum error-correcting codes and quantum errordetecting codes. Then QEL codes can locate qubit errors within one sub-block of the received qubit symbols but do not need to determine the exact locations of the erroneous qubits. We show that, an e-error-locating code derived from an arbitrary binary cyclic code with generator polynomial g(x), can lead to a QEL code with e error-locating abilities, only if g(x) does not contain the(1 + x)-factor.  相似文献

The dynamics of a classical system can be expressed by means of Poissonbrackets. In this paper we generalize the relation between the usual noncovariantHamiltonian and the Poisson brackets to a covariant Hamiltonian and new bracketsin the frame of Minkowski space. These brackets can be related to those usedby Feynman in his derivation Maxwell's equations. A convenient representation of knot diagrams by abstract symbols is introduced. A set of simple moves, which are convenient combinations of the classic Reidemeister moves, is also introduced. Egorov’s theorem for transversally elliptic operators, acting on sections of a vector bundle over a compact foliated manifold, is proved. This theorem relates the quantum evolution of transverse pseudodifferential operators determined by a first-order transversally elliptic operator with the (classical) evolution of its symbols determined by the parallel transport along the orbits of the associated transverse bicharacteristic flow. For a particular case of a transverse Dirac operator, the transverse bicharacteristic flow is shown to be given by the transverse geodesic flow and the parallel transport by the parallel transport determined by the transverse Levi-Civita connection. These results allow us to describe the noncommutative geodesic flow in noncommutative geometry of Riemannian foliations.  相似文献

A distributed arithmetic coding algorithm based on source symbol purging and using the context model is proposed to solve the asymmetric Slepian–Wolf problem. The proposed scheme is to make better use of both the correlation between adjacent symbols in the source sequence and the correlation between the corresponding symbols of the source and the side information sequences to improve the coding performance of the source. Since the encoder purges a part of symbols from the source sequence, a shorter codeword length can be obtained. Those purged symbols are still used as the context of the subsequent symbols to be encoded. An improved calculation method for the posterior probability is also proposed based on the purging feature, such that the decoder can utilize the correlation within the source sequence to improve the decoding performance. In addition, this scheme achieves better error performance at the decoder by adding a forbidden symbol in the encoding process. The simulation results show that the encoding complexity and the minimum code rate required for lossless decoding are lower than that of the traditional distributed arithmetic coding. When the internal correlation strength of the source is strong, compared with other DSC schemes, the proposed scheme exhibits a better decoding performance under the same code rate.  相似文献

Although power laws have been used to fit rank distributions in many different contexts, they usually fail at the tails. Languages as sequences of symbols have been a popular subject for ranking distributions, and for this purpose, music can be treated as such. Here we show that more than 1800 musical compositions are very well fitted by the first kind two parameter beta distribution, which arises in the ranking of multiplicative stochastic processes. The parameters a and b are obtained for classical, jazz and rock music, revealing interesting features. Specially, we have obtained a clear trend in the values of the parameters for major and minor tonal modes. Finally, we discuss the distribution of notes for each octave and its connection with the ranking of the notes.  相似文献

This article is devoted to the Toeplitz Operators [4] in the context of the geometric quantization [11, 15]. We propose an ansatz for their Schwartz kernel. From this, we deduce the main known properties of the principal symbol of these operators and obtain new results : we define their covariant and contravariant symbols, which are full symbols, and compute the product of these symbols in terms of the Kähler metric. This gives canonical star products on the Kählerian manifolds. This ansatz is also useful to introduce the notion of microsupport.  相似文献

Periodic orbits are calculated for a linear transformation composed of two coupled tent maps using a symbolic dynamics defined as the direct product of the single-map symbols {0,1,2}. As the coupling strength is increased orbits are pruned and a crossover to one-dimensional behavior is observed. The disallowed binary orbits containing only symbols {0,1} form a connected region in a binary symbol plane. Stable orbits may appear for strong couplings.  相似文献

Spin tomographic symbols of qudit states and spin observables are studied. Spin observables are associated with the functions on a manifold whose points are labeled by the spin projections and sphere S 2 coordinates. The star-product kernel for such functions is obtained in an explicit form and connected with the Fourier transform of characters of the SU(2) irreducible representation. The kernels are shown to be in close relation to the Chebyshev polynomials. Using specific properties of these polynomials, we establish the recurrence relation between the kernels for different spins. Employing the explicit form of the star-product kernel, a sum rule for Clebsch–Gordan and Racah coefficients is derived. Explicit formulas are obtained for the dual tomographic star-product kernel as well as for intertwining kernels which relate spin tomographic symbols and dual tomographic symbols.  相似文献

Diagonal matrix elements of pseudodifferential operators are needed in order to compute effective Lagrangians and currents. For this purpose the method of symbols is often used, which however lacks manifest covariance. In this work the method of covariant symbols, introduced by Pletnev and Banin, is extended to curved space-time with arbitrary gauge and coordinate connections. For the Riemannian connection we compute the covariant symbols corresponding to external fields, the covariant derivative and the Laplacian, to fourth order in a covariant derivative expansion. This allows one to obtain the covariant symbol of general operators to the same order. The procedure is illustrated by computing the diagonal matrix element of a nontrivial operator to second order.
