In the context of the littlest Higgs (LH) model, we study the process . We find that the new gauge bosons Z H and B H can produce significant correction effects on this process, which can be further enhanced by suitably polarized beams. In most of the parameter space preferred by the electroweak precision data, the absolute value of the relative correction parameter is larger than 5 %. As long as and the absolute value of the relative correction parameter is larger than . With reasonable values of the parameters of the LH model, the possible signals of the new gauge bosons B H and Z H can be detected via the process in the future LC experiments with the CM energy . B H exchange and Z H exchange can generate significantly corrections to the forward-backward asymmetry only in a small part of the parameter space.Received: 29 October 2004, Revised: 29 November 2004, Published online: 15 February 2005  相似文献

A realistic study of the physics reach of a threshold scan at a future e + e - linear collider is presented. The results obtained take into account experimental and, to a large extent, theoretical systematic errors, as well as beam effects. Because of the large correlations between the physical parameters that can be extracted from the threshold scan, a multi-parameter fit is seen as mandatory. It is shown that the top mass, the top width and can be extracted simultaneously with uncertainties around 20 MeV, 30 MeV and 0.0012, respectively, while the top Yukawa coupling can be measured, with the previous three parameters, to an uncertainty of about 35%, after assuming an external prior on of . In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) we incorporate the Higgs-boson propagator corrections, evaluated up to two-loop order, into the prediction of and for . The propagator corrections consist of the full one-loop contribution, including the effects of non-vanishing external momentum, and corrections of at the two-loop level. The results are supplemented with the dominant one-loop QED corrections and final state QCD corrections from both gluons and gluinos. The effects of the two-loop propagator corrections and of the one-loop gluino contributions are investigated in detail. Our results are compared with the result obtained within the renormalization group approach. Agreement within 10% is found for most parts of the MSSM parameter space. The Wtb vertex can be probed on future colliders in the processes of single top production (LHC, pp mode, NLC, mode) and of top pair production (NLC, mode). We analyze observables sensitive to anomalous Wtb couplings in the top pair production process of collisions. In particular, forward–backward and spin–spin asymmetries of the top decay products and the asymmetry of the lepton energy spectrum are considered. Possible bounds on anomalous couplings obtained are competitive to those expected from the upgraded Tevatron and LHC. The validity of the infinitely small width approximation for the three-body top decay is also studied in detail. We extend from \(B^0 - \overline {B^0 } to T^0 - \overline {T^0 } \) the study of neutral pseudoscalar mesons with respect to mixing and CP violation. The possibility of a quite large top quark mass necessitates a more careful computation of the box diagram amplitude. Our result is that, while in \(B^0 - \overline {B^0 } \) systems CP violation is expected to be very small (~10?6) and mixing quite large (10–20% or more), precisely the opposite occurs for \( T^0 - \overline {T^0 } \) . In particular, CP violation in the \( T_u^0 - \overline {T_u^0 } \) system could be of the same order of magnitude as in the \(K^0 - \overline {K^0 } \) system (~10?3) while the mixing is totally negligible.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate methods to study the $t\bar{t}$ Higgs coupling. The spin and CP properties of a Higgs boson are analysed in a model-independent way in its associated production with a $t\bar{t}$ pair in high-energy e + e ? collisions. We study the prospects of establishing the CP quantum numbers of the Higgs boson in the CP-conserving case as well as those of determining the CP-mixing if CP is violated. We explore in this analysis the combined use of the total cross section and its energy dependence, the polarisation asymmetry of the top quark and the up-down asymmetry of the antitop with respect to the top–electron plane. We find that combining all three observables remarkably reduces the error on the determination of the CP properties of the Higgs Yukawa coupling. Furthermore, the top polarisation asymmetry and the ratio of cross sections at different collider energies are shown to be sensitive to the spin of the particle produced in association with the top-quark pair.  相似文献

The inelastic production of mesons in ep collisions has been studied with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of . The mesons were identified using the decay channel . The measurements were performed in the kinematic range , , 0.2 < z < 0.9 and , where Q2 is the virtuality of the exchanged photon, W is the photon-proton centre-of-mass energy, z is the fraction of the photon energy carried by the meson in the proton rest frame and is the rapidity of the in the laboratory frame. The measured cross sections are compared to theoretical predictions within the non-relativistic QCD framework including colour-singlet and colour-octet contributions, as well as to predictions based on the kT-factorisation approach. Calculations of the colour-singlet process generally agree with the data, whereas inclusion of colour-octet terms spoils this agreement.Received: 18 May 2005, Revised: 24 June 2005, Published online: 27 July 2005  相似文献

The fermionic and bosonic sectors of the 2-site Hubbard model have been exactly solved by means of the equation of motion and Greens function formalism. The exact solution of the t-J model has been also reported to investigate the low-energy dynamics. We have successfully searched for the exact eigenoperators, and the corresponding eigenenergies, having in mind the possibility to use them as an operatorial basis on the lattice. Many local, single-particle, thermodynamical and response properties have been studied as functions of the external parameters and compared between the two models and with some numerical and exact results. It has been shown that the 2-site Hubbard model already contains the most relevant energy scales of the Hubbard model: the local Coulomb interaction U and the spin-exchange one . As a consequence of this, for some relevant properties (kinetic energy, double occupancy, energy, specific heat and entropy) and as regards the metal-insulator transition issue, it has resulted possible to almost exactly mime the behavior of larger systems, sometimes using a higher temperature to get a comparable level spacing. The 2-site models have been also used as toy models to test the efficiency of the Greens function formalism for composite operators. The capability to reproduce the exact solutions, obtained by the exact diagonalization technique, gives a firm ground to the approximate treatments based on this formalism.Received: 16 July 2003, Published online: 30 January 2004PACS: 71.10.-w Theories and models of many-electron systems - 71.10.Fd Lattice fermion models (Hubbard model, etc.)  相似文献

An improved search for B s 0 oscillations is performed in the ALEPH data sample collected during the first phase of LEP, and reprocessed in 1998. Three analyses based on complementary event selections are presented. First, decays of B s 0 mesons into hadronic flavour eigenstates are fully reconstructed. This selection yields a small sample of candidates with excellent decay length and momentum resolution and hi gh average B s 0 purity. Semileptonic decays with a reconstructed D s - meson provide a second sample with larger statistics, high average B s 0 purity, but a poorer momentum and decay length resolution due to the partial decay reconstruction. Finally, semileptonic b-hadron decays are inclusively selected and yield the data sample with the highest sensitivity to B s 0 oscillations, as the much higher statistics compensate for the low average B s 0 purity and poorer time resolution. A lower limit is set atps-1 at 95% C.L., significantly lower than the expected limit of 15.2 ps-1. Received: 21 February 2003 / Published online: 11 June 2003  相似文献

We propose a new method for identifying and isolating events through semileptonic decays of the pair. Employing these decay dileptons to tag the jet in a specific kinematic region provides a clean signature of jets associated with heavy-quark production. The measurement, in both pp and heavy-ion collisions, is essential for addressing heavy-quark fragmentation in vacuum and in a dense medium. We present next-to-leading order calculations of production (leading order in production) in TeV pp collisions at the LHC and discuss the feasibility of the measurement in heavy-ion collisions at TeV.  相似文献

The prospects for observing an invisibly decaying Higgs boson in the production at LHC are discussed. An isolated lepton, reconstructed hadronic top-quark decay, two identified b-jets and a large missing transverse energy are proposed as the final state signature for event selection. Only the standard model backgrounds are taken into account. It is shown that the , , and backgrounds can individually be suppressed below the signal expectation. The dominant source of background remains the production. The key for the observability will be an experimental selection which allows further suppression to be achieved of the contributions from the events with one of the top quarks decaying into a tau lepton. Depending on the details of the final analysis, an excess of the signal events above the standard model background of about 10% to 100% can be achieved in the mass range mH= 100-200 GeV.Received: 1 July 2002, Revised: 16 May 2003, Published online: 3 July 2003E. We investigate the potential of γ γ collisions to probe scalar unparticle couplings via top–antitop quark pair production. We find 95% confidence level limits on the unparticle couplings with an integrated luminosity of 500 fb−1 and an energy of  TeV. We investigate the effect of the top quark spin polarization on the unparticle couplings. It is shown that spin polarization of the top quark leads to a significant improvement in the sensitivity limits.  相似文献

We study the $\overline{\nu}_{e}-e$ scattering from low to ultrahigh energy in the framework of Higgs Triplet Model (HTM). We add the contribution of charged Higgs boson exchange to the total cross section of the scattering. We obtain the upper bound $h_{ee}/M_{H^{\pm}}\lesssim2.8\times10^{-3}~\mbox{GeV}^{-1}$ in this process from low energy experiment. We show that by using the upper bound obtained, the charged Higgs contribution can give enhancements to the total cross section with respect to the SM prediction up to 5.16 % at E≤1014 eV and maximum at $s\approx M_{H^{\pm}}^{2}$ and would help to determine the feasibility experiments to discriminate between SM and HTM at current available facilities.  相似文献
