A Lie subalgebra of is said to be finitary if it consists of elements of finite rank. We show that, if acts irreducibly on , and if is infinite-dimensional, then every non-trivial ascendant Lie subalgebra of acts irreducibly on too. When , it follows that the locally solvable radical of such is trivial. In general, locally solvable finitary Lie algebras over fields of characteristic are hyperabelian.

In this paper, simplicity of quadratic Lie conformal algebras is investigated. From the view point of the corresponding Gel’fand–Dorfman bialgebras, some su?cient conditions and necessary conditions to ensure simplicity of quadratic Lie conformal algebras are presented. By these observations, we present several new classes of infinite simple Lie conformal algebras. These results will be useful for classification purposes.  相似文献

Krattenthaler, Orsina and Papi provided explicit formulas for the number of ad-nilpotent ideals with fixed class of nilpotence of a Borel subalgebra of a classical Lie algebra. Especially for types A and C they obtained refined results about these ideals with not only fixed class of nilpotence but also fixed dimension. In this paper, we shall follow their algorithm to determine the enumeration of ad-nilpotent b-ideals with fixed class of nilpotence and dimension for orthogonal Lie algebras, i.e., types B and D.  相似文献

Let \(\mathfrak g\) be a semisimple Lie algebra over a field \(\mathbb K\), \(\text{char}\left( \mathbb{K} \right)=0\), and \(\mathfrak g_1\) a subalgebra reductive in \(\mathfrak g\). Suppose that the restriction of the Killing form B of \(\mathfrak g\) to \(\mathfrak g_1 \times \mathfrak g_1\) is nondegenerate. Consider the following statements: ( 1) For any Cartan subalgebra \(\mathfrak h_1\) of \(\mathfrak g_1\) there is a unique Cartan subalgebra \(\mathfrak h\) of \(\mathfrak g\) containing \(\mathfrak h_1\); ( 2) \(\mathfrak g_1\) is self-normalizing in \(\mathfrak g\); ( 3) The B-orthogonal \(\mathfrak p\) of \(\mathfrak g_1\) in \(\mathfrak g\) is simple as a \(\mathfrak g_1\)-module for the adjoint representation. We give some answers to this natural question: For which pairs \((\mathfrak g,\mathfrak g_1)\) do ( 1), ( 2) or ( 3) hold? We also study how \(\mathfrak p\) in general decomposes as a \(\mathfrak g_1\)-module, and when \(\mathfrak g_1\) is a maximal subalgebra of \(\mathfrak g\). In particular suppose \((\mathfrak g,\sigma )\) is a pair with \(\mathfrak g\) as above and σ its automorphism of order m. Assume that \(\mathbb K\) contains a primitive m-th root of unity. Define \(\mathfrak g_1:=\mathfrak g^{\sigma}\), the fixed point algebra for σ. We prove the following generalization of a well known result for symmetric Lie algebras, i.e., for m=2: (a) \((\mathfrak g,\mathfrak g_1)\) satisfies ( 1); (b) For m prime, \((\mathfrak g,\mathfrak g_1)\) satisfies ( 2).  相似文献

We examine two problems in the computational theory of Lie algebras. First, we prove a constructive version of Engel's theorem: if L is a finite-dimensional Lie algebra that is not nilpotent, we show how to construct an element x in L such that the linear transformation ad x is not nilpotent. No special assumptions about the underlying field are needed. Second, as an important application of the first result, we give an algorithm for the construction of a Cartan subalgebra of a finite-dimensional Lie algebra. This solves the problem of finding a totally constructive proof of the existence of a Cartan subalgebra, posed by Beck, Kolman, and Stewart in the paper "Computing the Structure of a Lie Algebra". Our proofs are ordinary mathematical proofs that do not employ the general law of excluded middle. The advantage of this approach to mathematics is that our proofs, which are not burdened or obscured by the details of a particular programming language, can nevertheless be routinely turned into computer programs  相似文献

In this paper solvable Leibniz algebras with naturally graded non-Lie p-filiform (n?p≥4) nilradical and with one-dimensional complemented space of nilradical are described. Moreover, solvable Leibniz algebras with abelian nilradical and extremal (minimal, maximal) dimensions of complemented space nilradical are studied. The rigidity of solvable Leibniz algebras with abelian nilradical and maximal dimension of its complemented space is proved.  相似文献

We study ideals of Novikov algebras and Novikov structures on finite-dimensional Lie algebras. We present the first example of a three-step nilpotent Lie algebra which does not admit a Novikov structure. On the other hand we show that any free three-step nilpotent Lie algebra admits a Novikov structure. We study the existence question also for Lie algebras of triangular matrices. Finally we show that there are families of Lie algebras of arbitrary high solvability class which admit Novikov structures.  相似文献

In this paper we generalize naturally graded filiform Lie algebras as well as filiform Lie algebras admitting a connected gradation of maximal length, by introducing the concept of c-graded complex filiform Lie algebras. We deal with the particular case of 3-graded filiform Lie algebras and we obtain their classification in arbitrary dimension. We finally show a link among derived algebras, graded filiform and rigid solvable Lie algebras.  相似文献

It is proved that if the dual Lie algebra of a Lie coalgebra is algebraic, then it is algebraic of bounded degree. This result is an analog of the D.Radford's result for associative coalgebras.
