The synergistic effect on the extraction of thorium(IV) was found by the combination of 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone (Htta) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) or 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dpp) as a neutral bidentate ligand. Especially in the presence of dpp (1·10–3M) in benzene, the distribution ratio of thorium(IV) increased by a factor of about 300. Such synergistic enhancement of the extraction was ascribed to the formation of the adduct complex of Th(tta)4(phen) and Th(tta)4(dpp) in the organic phase. The extraction constant and the adduct formation constant were determined and discussed.  相似文献

Synergistic extraction of Th(IV) from perchlorate medium by mixtures of HTTA and TBP was studied. These studies include the effect of the ionic strength, temperature and the diluents on the extraction. Ionic strength was found to influence the extraction of Th(TTA)4 and Th(TTA)4·TBP whereas the adduct formation in the organic phase was almost unaffected. Increase of temperature resulted in a decrease of the extraction of Th(IV). The stability of the adduct was found to decrease in the order, cyclohexane > benzene > chloroform.  相似文献

Solvent extraction of thorium (IV) from aqueous solution with dialkyldithiophosphoric acids (RO)2P(S)SH, (abbreviated Hdtp) in different organic solvents shows that the chain length in Hdtp significantly influence the magnitude of the distribution ratio. The diluent effect and the influence of the inorganic anion present in the aqueous phase was investigated in the Th — di (2-ethyl-hexyl) dithiophosphoric acid (HEhdtp) extraction system. The treatment of the partition data shows that the extraction of Th(IV) in benzene, cyclohexane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and n-butanol from perchlorate, chloride and nitrate media occurs via an ion-exchange mechanism. Inorganic anions present in the aqueous phase do not participate in the formation of the extracted species but influence the magnitude of the distribution ratios.  相似文献

Triphenylarsine oxide is proposed as an extractant for the solvent extraction of uranium and thorium salicylates. The optimum extraction conditions are established by studying the various parameters such as pH, sodium salicylate concentration, triphenylarsine oxide concentration, diluents and shaking time. The probable extracted species as ascertained by logD-logC plots are UO2(Hsal)2·2TPAsO and Th(Hsal)4·2TPAsO. The method is simple, fast, precise and permits the determination of uranium and thorium in monazite sand samples.  相似文献

Formation of adducts between U(TTA)4 and several neutral donors was studied by spectrophotometry and it was shown that each of the neutral donors forms only 1∶1 adduct with U(TTA)4. The adduct formation constants with some neutral donors were determined for benzene and chloroform media. As these adducts are involved in the synergistic extraction of U(IV) from aqueous media by mixtures of HTTA and neutral donors dissolved in organic solvents, the extraction equilibrium constants were estimated, The adduct formation was found to result in an increase of the co-ordination number of U(IV) from 8 in U(TTA)4 to 9 in the adducts it forms with the neutral donors. Similar absorption spectral studies with U(DBM)4 revealed that it forms much weaker adducts than the corresponding ones with U(TTA)4.  相似文献

The extraction of Co3+ from 0.1M aqueous acetate medium buffered to pH 5.3 by thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA) in benzene and by 8-quinolinol (HQ) also in benzene at various temperatures has been studied. The species formed were Co(OH)2 (TTA)·(HTTA)2 and Co(Q3)·2HQ, respectively. 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) as a base was also mixed with HTTA to form the species Co(OH)2(TTA)·(HTTA). Phen and Co(OH)2 (TTA)(HTTA)·2Phen. No synergism was observed upon the addition of Phen to HQ.  相似文献

The synergic extraction of La(III), Eu(III), and Lu(III) with 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone (Htta) and triphenylarsine oxide (tpao) in benzene has been studied. The extractability of lanthanoids, Ln(III), is significantly affected by the association of Htta with tpao in the organic phase. The associated species is Htta·tpao and the association constant is determined as 101.63. The intrinsic extraction equilibrium of Ln(III) is analyzed using the free concentration of Htta and tpao. The synergic enhancement is ascribable to the formation of the adduct complexes shown as Ln(tta)3tpao and Ln(tta)3(tpao)2 in the present extraction system. The adduct formation constants determined are very large as expected from the high basicity of tpao.  相似文献

Solvent extraction of thorium was studied using Taguchi method. The effect of various parameters such as acid types (sulfuric, nitric, hydrochloric, sulfuric + nitric) and their concentrations from 0.001 to 4 M, initial thorium concentration (0.0001, 0.001, 0.01, 0.1 M) and solvent type (TBP, D2EHPA, Cyanex921, Cyanex272) in the ranges of 0.001 to 1 M on thorium extraction efficiency were investigated. The maximum extraction of thorium was obtained while 0.001 M hydrochloric acid, 0.001 or 0.01 M thorium and Cyanex272 were used. Under these optimum conditions, the extraction percent and distribution coefficient of thorium were 98.7% and 73.8, respectively. Compared with the hydrochloric aqueous solution, the nitric acid system showed less variation in the extraction of thorium. The proposed process has been applied for the separation of Th(IV), U(VI), La(III), and Ce(III) from synthetic solution same as thorium ores (monazite).  相似文献

The solvent extraction of thorium(IV) (4.3·10–4M) from nitric acid solution by bis-2-(butoxyethyl ether) (butex or DBC) has been studied. It has been investigated as a function of nitric acid, extractant and metal ion concentration. The effect of equilibration time, diverse ions and salting-out agent on the extraction has also been examined. Among anions, fluoride, phosphate, oxalate and perchlorate have reduced the extraction. Cations such as Na(I), K(I), Ca(II), Zn(II), Al(III), Ti(IV), Zr(IV) except Sr(II) and Pb(II) do not interfere in the extraction. The extraction is enhanced upto 97% in three stages at 6M HNO3 having 2.94M NaNO3 as salting-out agent. The extraction is found to be independent of thorium concentration in the range studied (4.3·10–4–4.3·10–2M). The temperature (18–45°C) has an adverse effect on the extraction. A 1% solution of ammonium bifluoride is found to be a good stripping solution and recovery of thorium is >98%.  相似文献

Extraction of Th(IV), La(III), and Y(III) from aqueous solutions containing 0–4 M sodium nitrate with a composite solid extractant based on a polymeric support impregnated with trialkylmethylammonium nitrate (Aliquat-336) was studied. The extraction isotherms were analyzed assuming that lanthanides and thorium are extracted with the solid extractant in the form of complexes (R4N)2[Ln(NO3)5] and (R4N)2[Th(NO3)6], respectively. The extraction constants were calculated. The joint extraction of Th(IV) and La(III) [Y(III)] with the solid extractant from aqueous salt solutions was studied.  相似文献

The extraction of U(VI) by mixtures of HTTA and TBP from aqueous thiocyanate medium has been studied. From the data obtained it was observed that the predominant uranium species extracted, causing synergic enhancement in the extraction of U(VI), is UO2(SCN)TTA · 2TBP when benzene and cyclohexane are used as diluents, and that at a very low concentration of TBP the contribution of additional species, viz. UO2(TTA)2 · TBP becomes significant. With chloroform as diluent, however, both of these species are contributing to the synergic enhancement. The extraction of a quaternary uranium species, UO2(SCN)TTA · 2TBP, involving the participation of the aqueous anion is thus established. Equilibrium constants for the various extraction equilibria involved are calculated.  相似文献

The solvent extraction behavior of thorium traces from the hydrochloric acid media with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-5-pyrazolone (PMBP) is described using 234Th as a tracer. The influence of certain variables such as extractant concentration, acidity, equilibrium time as well as UO2 2+ ions on the extraction of thorium has been investigated systematically. The back-extraction behavior of thorium from the organic phase has also been tested. The results reveal that the percent extraction of 234Th decreases with increasing hydrochloric acid concentration and thorium is easily back-extracted with an 4-6 mol/l aqueous HCl solution. At the same time, the effect of thorium extraction with PMBP was tested employing radioisotopes as multi-tracers in the irradiation of natural uranium with 14-15 MeV neutrons. The results show that thorium can be completely separated from a large amount of uranium and most of the other main reaction products.  相似文献

Extraction of uranium(VI), thorium(IV) from nitric acid has been studied with N-octylcaprolactam and N-(2-ethyl)hexylcaprolactam. Distribution coefficients of U(VI), Th(IV) and HNO3 as a function of aqueous NHO3 concentration, extractant concentration and temperature have been studied. The compositions of extracted species, thermodynamic parameters of extraction have been evaluated. Third phase formation in extraction of U(VI) has been studied. Back extraction behavior of U(VI) and Th(IV) from the organic phase has also been tested. The results obtained are compared with those obtained by using TBP under the same experimental conditions.  相似文献

The extraction of thorium(IV) from nitric acid solutions by di-n-butyl sulfoxide (DBSO) in xylene has been investigated as a function of acid, extractant and the metal concentration. The effect of contact time and diverse ions on the extraction has been examined. Phosphate, fluoride, oxalate and perchlorate reduce the extraction to some extent. The extraction of other metal ions, especially impurities associated with thorium in ores, has been measured under optimised conditions selected for thorium extraction. Na(I), K(I), Ca(II), Sr(II), Mn(II), Fe(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), Al(III), Ti(IV) and Hf(IV) are not extracted. Among the stripping solutions employed for back-extraction, deionized water is found to be the best and more than 99% thorium can be back-extracted in three stages. The extracted species is supposed to be Th(NO3)4·2DBSO. The extraction is found to be almost independent of the thorium concentration in the range between 4.3·10–4–4.3·10–2M and inversely dependent upon the temperature. The values of thermodynamic functions H, G and S for extraction equilibrium have been evaluated to be –19.6±2.9 kJ·mole–1, –18.1±2.0 kJ·mole–1 and –5.0±2.9 J·mole–1·K–1, respectively.  相似文献

Synergistic extraction of tetravalent actinides, using mixtures of a β-diketone and several neutral organophosphorous extractants, was recently demonstrated. In this work the extraction of the ions Th(IV), Np(IV) and Pu(IV), from perchloric acid medium, by benzene solutions of a β-diketone, thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA), in combination with a neutral organosulfoxide donor, di-n-octyl sulfoxide (DOSO), has been investigated. Two methods viz. the slope analysis method and JOB's method have been employed for the study. The species mainly responsible for the observed synergism, with the M(IV) ions studied, was found to be M(TTA)4·DOSO. The extraction and adduct formation equilibrium constants are given.  相似文献

The extraction of iron(III) from aqueous sulphate solutions by Primene 81R sulphate at low temperatures was studied as a function of iron(III) and amine sulphate concentrations. In the range of temperatures between 8 and 5°C a complex with the stoichiometric formula 4(RNH3)2SO4·[Fe(OH)SO4]2 is extracted. The extraction reaction may occur by adduct formation between the amine sulphate and the species [Fe(OH)SO4]2 from the aqueous phase and not by an anion exchange reaction. The extracted complex is a monomer in benzene solution; the spectral study suggests that the [Fe(OH)]4+2 unit is present in its structure and the sulphate groups act as bidentate ligands.  相似文献

The thermodynamics of the extraction of Eu3+ by thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA) and by mixtures of HTTA and bidentate amine bases such as 2,2-dipyridyl (Dipy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) in benzene from an aqueous phase fixed to 0.1M ionic strength (NaClO4), pH 3.9, has been investigated. Phenanthroline forms both the Eu(TTA)3·Phen and Eu(TTA)3·2Phen species, which are much stronger than the dipyridyl complexes. The diluent effect on the extraction is also studied.  相似文献
