A series of zinc azaphthalocyanines with two azacrowns in a rigid tweezer arrangement were prepared and the fluorescence sensing properties were investigated. The size‐driven recognition of alkali and alkaline earth metal cations was significantly enhanced by the close cooperation of the two azacrown units, in which both donor nitrogen atoms need to be involved in analyte binding to switch the sensor on. The mono‐ or biphasic character of the binding isotherms, together with the binding stoichiometry and magnitude of association constants (KA), indicated specific complexation of particular analytes. Water solvation was shown to play an important role and resulted in a strong quenching of sensor fluorescence in the ON state. The lead compound was embedded into silica nanoparticles and advantageous sensing properties towards K+ were demonstrated in water (λF=671 nm, apparent KA=82 m ?1, increase of 17×), even in the presence of (supra)physiological concentrations of Na+ and Ca2+.  相似文献

The effect of the macrocyclic host, cucurbit[7]uril (CB7), on the photophysical properties of the 2‐(2′‐hydroxyphenyl)benzimidazole (HPBI) dye have been investigated in aqueous solution by using ground‐state absorption and steady‐state and time‐resolved fluorescence measurements. All three prototropic forms of the dye (cationic, neutral, and anionic) form inclusion complexes with CB7, with the largest binding constant found for the cationic form (K≈2.4×106 M ?1). At pH≈4, the appearance of a blue emission band upon excitation of the HPBI cation in the presence of CB7 indicates that encapsulation into the CB7 cavity retards the deprotonation process of the excited cation, and hence reduces its subsequent conversion to the keto form. Excitation of the neutral form (pH≈8.5), however, leads to an increase in the keto form fluorescence, indicating an enhanced excited‐state intramolecular proton‐transfer process for the encapsulated dye. In both the ground and excited states, the two pKa values of the HPBI dye show upward shifts in the presence of CB7. The prototropic equilibrium of the CB7‐complexed dye is represented by a six‐state model, and the pH‐dependent changes in the binding constants have been analyzed accordingly. It has been observed that the calculated pKa values using this six‐state model match well with the values obtained experimentally. The changes in the pKa values in the presence of CB7 have been corroborated with the modulation of the proton‐transfer process of the dye within the host cavity.  相似文献

A novel β‐cyclodextrin dimer, 2, 2′‐o‐phenylenediseleno‐bridged bis (β‐cyclodextrin) (2), has been synthesized by reaction of mono‐[2‐O‐(p‐tolylsulfonyl)]‐β‐cyclodextrin and poly(o‐phenylenediselenide). The complexation stability constants (K2) and Gibbs free energy changes (‐ΔG°) of dimer 2 with four fluorescence dyes, that is, ammonium 8‐anilino‐1‐naphthalenesulfonate (ANS), sodium 6‐(p‐toluidino)‐2‐naphthalenesulfonate (TNS), Acridine Red (AR) and Rhodamine B (RhB) have been determined in aqueous phosphate buffer solution (pH = 7.2, 0.1 mol‐L?1) at 25 °C by means of fluorescence spectroscopy. Using the present results and the previously reported corresponding data of β‐cyclodextrin (1) and 6, 6′‐o‐phenylenediseleno‐bridged bis (β‐cyclodextrin) (3), binding ability and molecular selectivity are compared, indicating that the bis (β‐cyclodextrin)s 2 and 3 possess much higher binding ability toward these dye molecules than parent β‐cyclodextrin 1, but the complex stability constant for 2 linked from the primary side is larger than that of 3 linked from the secondary side, which is attributed to the more effective cooperative binding of two hydrophobic cavities of host 3 and the size/shape‐fit relationship between host and guest. The binding constant (K2,) upon inclusion complexation of host 3 and AR is enhanced by factor of 27.3 as compared with that of 1. The 2D 1H NOESY spectrum of host 2 and RhB is performed to confirm the binding mode and explain the relative weak binding ability of 2.  相似文献

A novel 4,4′‐sulfonyldianiline‐bridged bis(β‐cyclodextrin (CD)) 2 was synthesized, and its complex stability constants (Ks) for the 1 : 1 inclusion complexation with bile salts, i.e., cholate (CA), deoxycholate (DCA), glycocholate (GCA), and taurocholate (TCA) have been determined in phosphate buffer (pH 7.2) at 25° by fluorescence spectroscopy. The result indicated that 2 can act as efficient fluorescent sensor and display remarkable fluorescence enhancement upon addition of optically inert bile salts. Structures of the inclusion complexes between bile salts and 2 were elucidated by 2D‐NMR experiments, indicating that the anionic tail group and the D ring of bile salts penetrate into one CD cavity of 2 from the wide opening deeply, while the phenyl moiety of the CD linker is partially self‐included in the other CD cavity to form a host–linker–guest binding mode. As compared with native β‐CD 1 upon complexation with bile salts, bis(β‐CD) 2 enhances the binding ability and molecular selectivity. Typically, 2 gives the highest Ks value of 26200 M ?1 for the complexation with CA, which may be ascribed to the simultaneous contributions of hydrophobic, H‐bond, and electrostatic interactions. These phenomena are discussed from the viewpoints of multiple recognition and induce‐fit interactions between host and guest.  相似文献

The encapsulation of tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) and fluorescent probe acridinium ions (AcH+) by diethylpyrrole‐bridged bisporphyrin (H4DEP) was used to investigate the structural and spectroscopic changes within the bisporphyrin cavity upon substrate binding. X‐ray diffraction studies of the bisporphyrin host (H4DEP) and the encapsulated host–guest complexes (H4DEP ? TCNQ and [H4DEP ? AcH]ClO4) are reported. Negative and positive shifts of the reduction and oxidation potentials, respectively, indicated that it was difficult to reduce/oxidize the encapsulated complexes. The emission intensities of bisporphyrin, upon excitation at 560 nm, were quenched by about 65 % and 95 % in H4DEP ? TCNQ and [H4DEP ? AcH]ClO4, respectively, owing to photoinduced electron transfer from the excited state of the bisporphyrin to TCNQ/AcH+; this result was also supported by DFT calculations. Moreover, the fluorescence intensity of encapsulated AcH+ (excited at 340 nm) was also remarkably quenched compared to the free ions, owing to photoinduced singlet‐to‐singlet energy transfer from AcH+ to bisporphyrin. Thus, AcH+ acted as both an acceptor and a donor, depending on which part of the chromophore was excited in the host–guest complex. The electrochemically evaluated HOMO–LUMO gap was 0.71 and 1.42 eV in H4DEP ? TCNQ and [H4DEP ? AcH]ClO4, respectively, whilst the gap was 2.12 eV in H4DEP. The extremely low HOMO–LUMO gap in H4DEP ? TCNQ led to facile electron transfer from the host to the guest, which was manifested in the lowering of the CN stretching frequency (in the solid state) in the IR spectra, a strong radical signal in the EPR spectra at 77 K, and also the presence of low‐energy bands in the UV/Vis spectra (in the solution phase). Such an efficient transfer was only possible when the donor and acceptor moieties were in close proximity to one another.  相似文献

Pyrazolo[3,4‐b]quinoline derivatives are reported to be highly efficient organic fluorescent materials suitable for applications in light‐emitting devices. Although their fluorescence remains stable in organic solvents or in aqueous solution even in the presence of H2O, halide salts (LiCl), alkali (NaOH) and weak acid (acetic acid), it suffers an efficient quenching process in the presence of protic acid (HCl) in aqueous or ethanolic solution. This quenching process is accompanied by a change in the UV spectrum, but it is reversible and can be fully recovered. Both steady‐state and transient fluorescence spectra of 1‐phenyl‐3,4‐dimethyl‐1H‐pyrazolo‐[3,4‐b]quinoline (PAQ5) during quenching are measured and analyzed. It is found that a combined dynamic and static quenching mechanism is responsible for the quenching processes. The ground‐state proton‐transfer complex [PAQ5 ??? H+] is responsible for static quenching. It changes linearly with proton concentration [H+] with a bimolecular association constant KS=1.95 M ?1 controlled by the equilibrium dissociation of HCl in ethanol. A dynamic quenching constant KD=22.4 M ?1 is obtained by fitting to the Stern–Volmer equation, with a bimolecular dynamic quenching rate constant kd=1.03×109 s?1 M ?1 under ambient conditions. A change in electron distribution is simulated and explains the experiment results.  相似文献

The formation of the inclusion complex of p-sulfonatocalix[6]arene (SCX6) with different forms of vitamin B6 (VB6) was studied by using fluorescence spectroscopy. VB6 can exist in one of three forms (the acidic form, neutral zwitterionic form and basic form) depending on pH. The fluorescence intensities of acidic and basic forms of VB6 remarkably decreased in presence of SCX6. SCX6 preferred to form 1:1 inclusion complexes with acidic and basic forms of VB6 but hardly form inclusion complex with neutral zwitterionic form. According to the nonlinear curve fitting method, the inclusion constant (K) for the formation of inclusion complexes of acidic and basic forms of VB6 with SCX6 were evaluated to be 1.4?×?104 and 9?×?103 L/mol, respectively. The binding affinity of SCX6 towards acidic form is attributed to hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic interaction, furthermore, additional electrostatic interaction also plays a crucial role. The possible inclusion mode was given by 1H NMR technique.  相似文献

A highly K+‐selective two‐photon fluorescent probe for the in vitro monitoring of physiological K+ levels in the range of 1–100 mM is reported. The two‐photon excited fluorescence (TPEF) probe shows a fluorescence enhancement (FE) by a factor of about three in the presence of 160 mM K+, independently of one‐photon (OP, 430 nm) or two‐photon (TP, 860 nm) excitation and comparable K+‐induced FEs in the presence of competitive Na+ ions. The estimated dissociation constant (Kd) values in Na+‐free solutions (KdOP=(28±5) mM and KdTP=(36±6) mM ) and in combined K+/Na+ solutions (KdOP=(38±8) mM and KdTP=(46±25) mM ) reflecting the high K+/Na+ selectivity of the fluorescent probe. The TP absorption cross‐section (σ2PA) of the TPEF probe+160 mM K+ is 26 GM at 860 nm. Therefore, the TPEF probe is a suitable tool for the in vitro determination of K+.  相似文献

The inclusion of the fluorescent organic dye, ethyl 3‐(7‐hydroxy‐2‐oxo‐2H‐chromen‐3‐yl)‐3‐oxopropanoate ( 1 ) by the host β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD), and its response toward mercuric ions (Hg2+), was studied by UV/Vis, fluorescence, and 1H NMR spectroscopic analyses, mass spectrometry and molecular modeling studies. 1H NMR measurements together with molecular modeling studies for dye 1 demonstrate that it exhibits two tautomeric forms (keto and enol); however, when the dye is included into the β‐CD cavity, the enol form predominates. Moreover, by using spectroscopic and spectrometry techniques, a 1:1 stoichiometry was determined for the complexes formed between dye 1 (enol form) and β‐CD, with a binding constant (Kb1=1.8×104 m ?1) and for the dye 1 (keto form)‐Hg2+ (Kb2=2.3×103 m ?1). Interestingly, in the presence of 1 –β‐CD complex and mercuric ions, a ternary supramolecular system (Hg– 1 –β‐CD complex) was established, with a 1:1:1 stoichiometry and a Kb3 value of 4.3×103 m ?1, with the keto form of the dye being the only one present in this assembly. The three‐component system provides a starting point for the development of novel and directed supramolecular assemblies.  相似文献

Binding of the cationic dye auramine O (AuO) to the polysoap-type polymers poly(vinylbenzo-18-crown-6) (P18C6) and polyvinylbenzoglyme (PVBG) in water were studied by fluorimetry and dialysis. The quantum yield of P18C6-bound AuO was found to be 0.028, the value being 0.018 for AuO bound to PVBG. The intrinsic binding constants were found to be 2.2 × 104M?1 (P18C6) and 1.2 × 104M?1 (PVBG), the respective first binding constants being 317 and 63M?1. Addition of crown-ether-complexable cations such as K+, Tl+, or Cs+ converts the neutral poly(crown ether) into a polycation, causing repulsion of the cationic dye and a strong decrease in the AuO fluorescence. AuO fluorescence was also studied in the absence of polymer in ether solvents, giving θ values of 0.011 and 0.018 in THF and dioxane. Traces of water rapidly form a nonfluorescent species. Solutions of AuO in water without polymer present exhibit very strong fluorescence on addition of BPh4 anions owing to formation of AuO+, BPh4? ion pairs and higher aggregates.  相似文献

A new ditopic ion‐pair receptor 1 was designed, synthesized, and characterized. Detailed binding studies served to confirm that this receptor binds fluoride and chloride ions (studied as their tetraalkylammonium salts) and forms stable 1:1 complexes in CDCl3. Treatment of the halide‐ion complexes of 1 with Group I and II metal ions (Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+, Mg2+, and Ca2+; studied as their perchlorate salts in CD3CN) revealed unique interactions that were found to depend on both the choice of the added cation and the precomplexed anion. In the case of the fluoride complex [ 1? F]? (preformed as the tetrabutylammonium (TBA+) complex), little evidence of interaction with the K+ ion was seen. In contrast, when this same complex (i.e., [ 1? F]? as the TBA+ salt) was treated with the Li+ or Na+ ions, complete decomplexation of the receptor‐bound fluoride ion was observed. In sharp contrast to what was seen with Li+, Na+, and K+, treating complex [ 1? F]? with the Cs+ ion gave rise to a stable, receptor‐bound ion‐pair complex [Cs ?1? F] that contains the Cs+ ion complexed within the cup‐like cavity of the calix[4]pyrrole, which in turn was stabilized in its cone conformation. Different complexation behavior was observed in the case of the chloride complex [ 1? Cl]?. In this case, no appreciable interaction was observed with Na+ or K+. In addition, treating [ 1? Cl]? with Li+ produces a tightly hydrated dimeric ion‐pair complex [ 1? LiCl(H2O)]2 in which two Li+ ions are bound to the crown moiety of the two receptors. In analogy to what was seen in the case of [ 1? F]?, exposure of [ 1? Cl]? to the Cs+ ion gives rise to an ion‐pair complex [Cs ?1? Cl] in which the cation is bound within the cup of the calix[4]pyrrole. Different complexation modes were also observed when the binding of the fluoride ion was studied by using the tetramethylammonium and tetraethylammonium salts.  相似文献

Abstract

The interaction between a biologically important dye, 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) and a macrocyclic host, p-sulfonatocalix[6]arene (SCX6) has been investigated using ground-state absorption, steady-state as well as time-resolved fluorescence measurements at two preset pH conditions: 2.5 and 6. Acknowledging the complexation with SCX6 at both the pHs with strong binding, DAPI shows spectral shifts in the absorption and emission spectra; however, strikingly, the fluorescence intensity behaviour is seen contrastingly opposite. At lower pH (~2.5), DAPI displays six-fold intensity, whereas drastic quenching in the fluorescence intensity is recorded at pH 6. Detailed spectroscopic analysis revealed that the SCX6 with phenolate ion stabilised at the lower rim, prevailing at pH 6, efficiently quench the excited state of DAPI, presumably through an electron transfer process, whereas at pH 2.5, the undissociated phenolic groups extend the dye a favourable encapsulation to prevent the excited-state protonation process resulting in remarkable enhancement in the fluorescence. This interesting host–guided fluorescence response with pH is worth as fluorescence on-off switch at lower pH conditions as well as the DAPI system offers a good optical probe for the easy determination of the pKa of p-sulfonatocalixarenes by visible fluorescence measurements.  相似文献

ACE was applied to the quantitative evaluation of noncovalent binding interactions between benzo‐18‐crown‐6‐ether (B18C6) and several alkali metal ions, Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+ and Cs+, in a mixed binary solvent system, methanol–water (50/50 v/v). The apparent binding (stability) constants (Kb) of B18C6–alkali metal ion complexes in the hydro‐organic medium above were determined from the dependence of the effective electrophoretic mobility of B18C6 on the concentration of alkali metal ions in the BGE using a nonlinear regression analysis. Before regression analysis, the mobilities measured by ACE at ambient temperature and variable ionic strength of the BGE were corrected by a new procedure to the reference temperature, 25°C, and the constant ionic strength, 10 mM . In the 50% v/v methanol–water solvent system, like in pure methanol, B18C6 formed the strongest complex with potassium ion (log Kb=2.89±0.17), the weakest complex with cesium ion (log Kb=2.04±0.20), and no complexation was observed between B18C6 and the lithium ion. In the mixed methanol–water solvent system, the binding constants of the complexes above were found to be about two orders lower than in methanol and about one order higher than in water.  相似文献

Helical structures are interesting due to their inherent chirality. Helicenium ions are triarylmethylium structures twisted into configurationally stable helicenes through the introduction of two heteroatom bridges between the three aryl substituents. Of the configurationally stable [4]helicenium ions, derivatives with sulfur, oxygen and nitrogen bridges have already been synthesised. However, one [4]helicenium ion has proven elusive, until now. We present herein the first synthesis of the 1,13‐dimethoxychromeno[2,3,4‐kl]acridinium (DMCA+) [4]helicenium ion. A series of six differently N‐substituted DMCA+ ions as their hexafluorophosphate salts are reported. Their cation stability was evaluated and it was found that DMCA+ is ideally suited as a phase‐transfer catalyst with a pKR+ of 13.0. The selectivity of nucleophilic addition to the central carbon atom of DMCA+ has been demonstrated with diastereotopic ratios of up to 1:10. The single‐crystal structures of several of the DMCA+ salts were determined, and structural differences between N‐aryl‐ and N‐alkyl‐substituted cations were observed. The results of a comparative study of the photophysics of the [4]helicenium ions are presented. DMCA+ is found to be a potent red‐emitting dye with a fluorescence quantum yield of 20 % in apolar solvents and a fluorescence lifetime of 12 ns. [4]Helicenium ions, including DMCA+, all suffer from solvent‐induced quenching, which reduces the fluorescence quantum yields significantly (?fl<5 %) in polar solvents. A difference in photophysical properties is observed between N‐aryl‐ and N‐alkyl‐substituted DMCA+, which has tentatively been attributed to a difference in molecular conformation.  相似文献

Pressure effects on the two‐site jumping of sodium and potassium cations in a 2,5‐di‐tert‐butyl‐1,4‐benzoquinone ion pair have been studied using a high‐pressure EPR technique. The rate constants of the intramolecular and intermolecular migrations for Na+ and K+ were determined from an EPR spectral simulation. The migration rates were found to be accelerated by increasing the external pressure. Using the pressure dependence of the migration rates, we estimated the activation volumes of the intramolecular (ΔV1?) and intermolecular (ΔV2?) processes for the Na+ and K+ migrations: ΔV1? = ?5.3 cm3 mol?1 and ΔV2? = ?29 cm3 mol?1 for Na+, and ΔV1? = ?8.3 cm3 mol?1 and ΔV2? = ?0.85 cm3 mol?1 for K+. Based on the results, the mechanisms for the two‐site jumping of Na+ and K+ are discussed in terms of volume. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 33: 397–401, 2001  相似文献

Dodecaborate anions of the type B12X122? and B12X11Y2? (X=H, Cl, Br, I and Y=OH, SH, NH3+, NR3+) form strong (Ka up to 106 L mol?1, for B12Br122?) inclusion complexes with γ‐cyclodextrin (γ‐CD). The micromolar affinities reached are the highest known for this native CD. The complexation exhibits highly negative enthalpies (up to ?25 kcal mol?1) and entropies (TΔS up to ?18.4 kcal mol?1, both for B12I122?), which position these guests at the bottom end of the well‐known enthalpy‐entropy correlation for CDs. The high driving force can be traced back to a chaotropic effect, according to which chaotropic anions have an intrinsic affinity to hydrophobic cavities in aqueous solution. In line with this argument, salting‐in effects revealed dodecaborates as superchaotropic dianions.  相似文献

New crown ether carrying two fluorionophores of cis‐dibenzothiazolyldibenzo‐24‐crown‐8 was synthesized from cis‐diformyldibenzo‐24‐crown‐8 and 2‐aminobenzenethiol. The binding behavior and the optical properties of the crown ether were examined through UV‐visible spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy. When complexed with Na+, K+, Rb+, and Cs+ ions, it led to intramolecular charge transfer and caused the changes of the fluorescence spectra. The protonation of the crown ether was also studied. With protonation using CF3COOH, the absorption bands and the fluorescence spectroscopy changed, the maximal fluorescence wavelengths red shifted and the fluorescence intensity with the maximum at 433 nm enhanced strongly. At different temperatures, the interactions between imidacloprid (IMI) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) were investigated with a fluorescence quenching spectrum, a synchronous fluorescence spectrum, a three-dimensional fluorescence spectrum and an ultraviolet-visible spectrum. The average values of bonding constants (KLB: 3.424 × 10^4 L,mol^-1), thermodynamic parameters (△H: 5.188 kJ,mol^-1, △G^(○—):-26.36 kJ,mol^-1, △S: 103.9 J,K^-1,mol^-1) and the numbers of bonding sites (n: 1.156) could be obtained through Stern-Volmer, Lineweaver-Burk and ther- modynamic equations. It was shown that the fluorescence of BSA could be quenched for its reactions with IMI to form a certain kind of new compound. The quenching belonged to a static fluorescence quenching, with a non-radiation energy transfer happening within a single molecule. The thermodynamic parameters agree with △H〉 0, △S〉0 and△G^(○-)〈0, suggesting that the binding power between IMI and BSA should be mainly a hydrophobic interaction.  相似文献

The complex formation reactions between iodine and DBzDA18C6, A15C5 and N‐phenylA15C5 have been studied spectrophotometrically in chloroform solution. In the case of DBzDA18C6 is the resulting 1:2 (ligand…I+)I3?, while, in the case of A15C5 and N‐phenylA15C5 a 2:2 molecular complex of [(ligand)2…I+]I3? type was formed. The spectrophotometric results indicate that gradual release of triiodide ion from its contact ion paired form in the molecular complex into the solution is the rate‐determining step of the reaction. The kinetic rate constants for the complexation reactions were determined at different temperatures, and activation parameters were calculated from Arrhenius and Eyring equations.  相似文献
