A novel technique for derivatization in a gas chromatograph injection port after a one-step extraction of trace perfluorocarboxylic acids (PFCAs) in water with ion pair formation during dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) was investigated. Tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate (TBAHS) was used as the ion pair reagent. PFCA butyl ester derivatives were formed in the GC injection port and then analyzed using gas chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry with negative chemical ionization. According to our analysis, the operative linear range for PFCA detection from 250 pg mL−1 to 2 μg mL−1 with a relative standard derivation (RSD) below 13%. Detection limits were achieved at the level of 37–51 pg mL−1. This method was successfully applied for the analyzing of PFCAs in river water samples from urban and industrial areas without tedious pretreatment. The concentration range over which PFCAs were detected is from 0.6 ng mL−1 to 604.9 ng mL−1.  相似文献

A new analytical method based on simultaneous derivatization and dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) followed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS), for the determination of the allergenic compounds atranol and chloroatranol in perfumes, is presented. Derivatization of the target analytes by means of acetylation with anhydride acetic in carbonate buffer was carried out. Thereby volatility and detectability were increased for improved GC–MS sensitivity. In addition, extractability by DLLME was also enhanced due to a less polar character of the solutes. A liquid–liquid extraction was performed before DLLME to clean up the sample and to obtain an aqueous sample solution, free of the low polar matrix from the essential oils, as donor phase. Different parameters, such as the nature and volume of both the extraction and disperser solvents, the ionic strength of the aqueous donor phase or the effect of the derivatization reagent volume, were optimized. Under the selected conditions (injection of a mixture of 750 μL of acetone as disperser solvent, 100 μL of chloroform as extraction solvent and 100 μL of anhydride acetic as derivatization reagent) the figures of merit of the proposed method were evaluated. Limits of detection in the low ng mL−1 range were obtained. Matrix effect was observed in real perfume samples and thus, standard addition calibration is recommended.  相似文献

A simple and fast sample preparation method for the determination of nonylphenol (NP) and octylphenol (OP) in aqueous samples by simultaneous derivatization and dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) was investigated using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS). In this method, a combined dispersant/derivatization catalyst (methanol/pyridine mixture) was firstly added to an aqueous sample, following which a derivatization reagent/extraction solvent (methyl chloroformate/chloroform) was rapidly injected to combine in situ derivatization and extraction in a single step. After centrifuging, the sedimented phase containing the analytes was injected into the GC port by autosampler for analysis. Several parameters, such as extraction solvent, dispersant solvent, amount of derivatization reagent, derivatization and extraction time, pH, and ionic strength were optimized to obtain higher sensitivity for the detection of NP and OP. Under the optimized conditions, good linearity was observed in the range of 0.1–1000 μg L−1 and 0.01–100 μg L−1 with the limits of detection (LOD) of 0.03 μg L−1 and 0.002 μg L−1 for NP and OP, respectively. Water samples collected from the Pearl River were analyzed with the proposed method, the concentrations of NP and OP were found to be 2.40 ± 0.16 μg L−1 and 0.037 ± 0.001 μg L−1, respectively. The relative recoveries of the water samples spiked with different concentrations of NP and OP were in the range of 88.3–106.7%. Compared with SPME and SPE, the proposed method can be successfully applied to the rapid and convenient determination of NP and OP in aqueous samples.  相似文献

Injection-port derivatization combined with solid-phase extraction (SPE) was developed and applied for the first time to determine five types of fecal sterols (coprostanol, cholestanol, epicholestanol, epicoprostanol and cholesterol) with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). In this method, silylation of fecal sterols was performed with N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (BSTFA) at GC injection-port. The factors influential to this technique such as injection-port temperature, purge-off time, derivatization reagent (BSTFA) volume, and the type of organic solvent were investigated. In addition, the conditions of SPE (including the type of SPE cartridge, the type of elution organic solvent) were also studied. After SPE followed by injection-port silylation by GC–MS, good linearity of analytes was achieved in the range of 0.02–10 ng/mL with coefficients of determination, R2 > 0.995. Good reproducibility was obtained with relative standard deviation less than 19.6%. The limits of detection ranged from 1.3 ng/mL to 15 ng/mL (S/N = 3) in environmental water samples. Compared with traditional off-line silylation of fecal sterols performed with water bath (60 °C, 30 min), this injection-port silylation method is much simpler and convenient. The developed method has been successfully applied for the analysis of fecal sterols from real environmental water samples.  相似文献

A rapid, sensitive, and environmental-friendly multi-residue method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of seven neonicotinoid insecticides (dinotefuran, nitenpyram, thiamethoxam, imidacloprid, clothianidin, acetamiprid, and thiacloprid) residues in eel samples. Subcritical water extraction was investigated as a novel and alternative technology for the extraction of neonicotinoids from eel matrices and the results were compared with the conventional ultrasonic and shaking extraction. The target compounds were identified and quantitatively determined by ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC–MS/MS) operated in multiple reaction monitoring mode. Under the current optimized chromatographic conditions, each LC run was completed in 5 min. Average recoveries of the seven analytes from fortified samples ranged between 84.6% and 102.0%, with relative standard deviations (RSD) lower than 10.8%. The limits of detection (LODs) and quantification (LOQs) for neonicotinoids were in the ranges of 0.12–0.36 μg kg−1 and 0.42–1.12 μg kg−1, respectively. The proposed method is fast, sensitive, easy to perform, water-based thus more environmentally acceptable, making it applicable for high-throughput monitoring of insecticides residues in aquatic products.  相似文献

In this work,a reliable and sensitive method for detecting polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs) has been developed by the combination of liquid–liquid extraction and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry.PBDEs were extracted from a large volume of water by liquid–liquid extraction and purified by silica gel chromatography. In order to reduce the deviation, dibromobiphenyl was exploited as the internal standard to minimize differences among the injections. The quantification was performed using an external standard.Good linear correlation coefficients(0.991) and a wide linearity range(1.0–500.0 ng/L) indicated the steadiness of the proposed method. Moreover, the satisfactory recovery(75%)suggested that successful determination of PBDEs in river water had been achieved.Furthermore, the deduction behavior of PBDEs in river water could be inferred according to the results.  相似文献

A new up-and-down shaker-assisted dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (UDSA-DLLME) for extraction and derivatization of five chlorophenols (4-chlorophenol, 4-chloro-2-methylphenol, 2,4-dichlorophenol, 2,4,6-trichloro-phenol, and pentachlorophenol) has been developed. The method requires minimal solvent usage. The relatively polar, water-soluble, and low-toxicity solvent 1-heptanol (12 μL) was selected as the extraction solvent and acetic anhydride (50 μL) as the derivatization reagent. With the use of an up-and-down shaker, the emulsification of aqueous samples was formed homogeneously and quickly. The derivatization and extraction of chlorophenols were completed simultaneously in 1 min. The common requirement of disperser solvent in DLLME could be avoided. After optimization, the linear range covered over two orders of magnitude, and the coefficient of determination (r 2) was greater than 0.9981. The detection limit was from 0.05 to 0.2 μg L?1, and the relative standard deviation was from 4.6 to 10.8 %. Real samples of river water and lake water had relative recoveries from 90.3 to 117.3 %. Other emulsification methods such as vortex-assisted, ultrasound-assisted, and manual shaking-enhanced ultrasound-assisted methods were also compared with the proposed UDSA-DLLME. The results revealed that UDSA-DLLME performed with higher extraction efficiency and precision compared with the other methods.  相似文献

The hollow fiber-based stirring extraction bar liquid–liquid microextraction was applied to the extraction of hormones, including 17-α-ethinylestradiol, 17-α-estradiol, estriol, 17-β-estradiol, estrone, 17-α-hydroxyprogesterone, medroxyprogesterone, progesterone and norethisterone acetate, in milk. The present method has the advantages of both hollow fiber-liquid phase microextraction and stirring bar sorptive extraction. The stirring extraction bar was used as both the stirring bar of microextraction, and extractor of the analytes, which can make extraction, clean-up and concentration be carried out in one step. When the extraction was completed, the stirring extraction bar was easy isolated from the extraction system with the magnet. Several experimental parameters, including the type of extraction solvent, the number of hollow stirring extraction bar, extraction time, stirring speed, ionic strength, and desorption conditions were investigated and optimized. The analytes in the extract were derived and determined by gas chromatography mass spectrometry. Under optimal experimental conditions, good linearity was observed in the range of 0.20–20.00 ng mL−1. The limits of detection and quantification were in the range of 0.02–0.06 ng mL−1 and 0.07–0.19 ng mL−1, respectively. The present method was applied to the analysis of milk samples, and the recoveries of analytes were in the range of 93.6–104.6% with the relative standard deviations ranging from 1.6% to 6.2% (n = 5). The results showed that the present method was a rapid and feasible method for the determination of hormones in milk samples.  相似文献

A sample pretreatment method for the determination of 18 chlorophenols (CPs) in aqueous samples by derivatization liquid-phase microextraction (LPME) was investigated using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Derivatization reagent was spiked into the extraction solvent to combine derivatization and extraction into one step. High sensitivity of 18 CPs derivatives could be achieved after optimization of several parameters such as extraction solvent, percentage of derivatization reagent, extraction time, pH, and ionic strength. The results from the optimal method showed that calibration ranging from 0.5 to 500 μg L−1 could be achieved with the RSDs between 1.75% and 9.39%, and the limits of detection (LOD) are ranging from 0.01 to 0.12 μg L−1 for the CPs. Moreover, the proposed LPME method was compared with solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coupled with on-fiber derivatization technique. The results suggested that using both methods are quite agreeable. Furthermore, the recoveries of LPME evaluated by spiked environmental samples ranged from 87.9% (3,5-DCP) to 114.7% (2,3,5,6-TeCP), and environmental water samples collected from the Pearl River were analyzed with the optimized LPME method, the concentrations of 18 CPs ranged from 0.0237 μg L−1 (3,5-DCP) to 0.3623 μg L−1 (2,3,6-TCP).  相似文献

A sample preparation method for the determination of hydroxylated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (OH-PAHs) in sediment samples was developed using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). Dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) with derivatization was performed following the subcritical water extraction (SWE) that provided which was provided by accelerated solvent extraction (ASE). Several important parameters that affected both SWE extraction and DLLME, such as the selection of organic modifier, its volume, extraction temperature, extraction pressure and extraction time were also investigated. High sensitivity of the hydroxylated PAHs derivatives by N-(tert-butyldimethylsilyl)-N-methyl-trifluoroacetamide (MTBSTFA) could be achieved with the limits of detection (LODs) ranging from 0.0139 (2-OH-nap) to 0.2334 μg kg−1 (3-OH-fluo) and the relative standard deviations (RSDs) between 2.81% (2-OH-phe) and 11.07% (1-OH-pyr). Moreover, the proposed method was compared with SWE coupled with solid phase extraction (SPE), and the results showed that ASE–DLLME was more promising with recoveries ranging from 57.63% to 91.07%. The proposed method was then applied to determine the hydroxylated metabolites of phenanthrene in contaminated sediments produced during the degradation by two PAH-degraders isolated from mangrove sediments.  相似文献

Pre-concentration and determination of 8 phenolic compounds in water samples has been achieved by in situ derivatization and using a new liquid–liquid microextraction coupled GC–MS system. Microextraction efficiency factors have been investigated and optimized: 9 μL 1-undecanol microdrop exposed for 15 min floated on surface of a 10 mL water sample at 55 °C, stirred at 1200 rpm, low pH level and saturated salt conditions. Chromatographic problems associated with free phenols have been overcome by simultaneous in situ derivatization utilizing 40 μL of acetic anhydride and 0.5% (w/v) K2CO3. Under the selected conditions, pre-concentration factor of 235–1174, limit of detection of 0.005–0.68 μg/L (S/N = 3) and linearity range of 0.02–300 μg/L have been obtained. A reasonable repeatability (RSD ≤ 10.4%, n = 5) with satisfactory linearity (0.9995 ≥ r2 ≥ 0.9975) of results illustrated a good performance of the present method. The relative recovery of different natural water samples was higher than 84%.  相似文献

The highly complex matrix of activated sludge in sewage treatment plants (STPs) makes it difficult to detect endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) which are usually present at low concentration levels. To date, no literature has reported the concentrations of steroid estrogens in activated sludge in China and very limited data are available worldwide. In this work, a highly selective and sensitive analytical method was developed for simultaneous determination of two classes of EDCs, including estrone (E1), 17β-estradiol (E2), estriol (E3), 17α-ethynylestradiol (EE2), 4-nonylphenol (NP) and bisphenol A (BPA), in the liquid and solid phases of activated sludge. The procedures for sample preparation, extracts derivatization, and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) quantification were all optimized to effectively determine target EDCs while minimizing matrix interference. The developed method showed good calibration linearity, recovery, precision, and a low limit of quantification (LOQ) for all selected EDCs in both liquid and solid phases of activated sludge. It was successfully applied to determine the concentrations of EDCs in activated sludge samples from two STPs located in Beijing and Shanghai of China, respectively.  相似文献

A new simple and reliable method combining an acetonitrile partitioning extractive procedure followed by dispersive solid-phase cleanup (QuEChERS) with dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) and further gas chromatography mass spectrometry analysis was developed for the simultaneous determination of bisphenol A (BPA) and bisphenol B (BPB) in canned seafood samples. Besides the great enrichment factor provided, the final DLLME extractive step was designed in order to allow the simultaneous acetylation of the compounds required for their gas chromatographic analysis. Tetrachloroethylene was used as extractive solvent, while the acetonitrile extract obtained from QuEChERS was used as dispersive solvent, and anhydride acetic as derivatizing reagent. The main factors influencing QuEChERS and DLLME efficiency including nature of QuEChERS dispersive-SPE sorbents, amount of DLLME extractive and dispersive solvents and nature and amount of derivatizing reagent were evaluated. DLLME procedure provides an effective enrichment of the extract, allowing the required sensitivity even using a single quadropole MS as detector. The optimized method showed to be accurate (>68?% recovery), reproducible (<21?% relative standard deviation) and sensitive for the target analytes (method detection limits of 0.2?μg/kg for BPA and 0.4?μg/kg for BPB). The screening of several canned seafood samples commercialized in Portugal (total?=?47) revealed the presence of BPA in more than 83?% of the samples with levels ranging from 1.0 to 99.9?μg/kg, while BPB was found in only one sample at a level of 21.8?μg/kg.  相似文献

A new analytical method for the determination of four hydroxylated benzophenone UV filters (i.e. 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone (HMB), 2,4-dihydroxybenzophenone (DHB), 2,2′-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone (DHMB) and 2,3,4-trihydroxybenzophenone (THB)) in sea water samples is presented. The method is based on dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) followed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) determination. The variables involved in the DLLME process were studied. Under optimized conditions, 1000 μL of acetone (disperser solvent) containing 60 μL of chloroform (extraction solvent) were injected into 5 mL of aqueous sample adjusted to pH 4 and containing 10% NaCl. Before injecting into the GC–MS system, the DLLME extracts were evaporated under an air stream and then reconstituted with N,O-bis-(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (BSTFA), thus allowing the target analytes to be converted into their trimethylsilyl derivatives. The best conditions for the derivatization reaction were 75 °C and 30 min. High enrichment factors for all the target analytes (ranging from 58 to 64) and good repeatability (RSD around 6%) were obtained. The limits of detection were in the range of 32–50 ng L−1, depending on the analyte. The recoveries obtained by using the proposed DLLME–GC–MS method evidenced the presence of matrix effects for some of the target analytes, and thereby the standard addition calibration method was employed. Finally, the validated method was applied to the analysis of sea water samples.  相似文献

A novel method based on the coupling of membrane-supported headspace single-drop microextraction with gas chromatography?mass spectrometry (GC–MS) is developed for the determination of chlorobenzenes in water samples. For the determination of five chlorobenzenes, a 15 μL toluene microdrop was placed inside the plastic membrane and exposed for 10 min for headspace extraction while stirring at 1000 rpm. The microdrop was then picked up by a microsyringe and directly injected into the injector block of the GC–MS instrument. Under the optimized operation conditions, the calculated calibration curves gave a high level of linearity for all targets with correlation coefficients range from 0.9945 to 0.9987. The limits of detection range from 0.01 to 0.05 μg/L and the RSDs for most of chlorobenzenes were below 7%. The method is simple, sensitive, and stable for single drop microextraction. Its applicability is demonstrated by the determination of chlorobenzenes in tap water samples.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive automated method for determination of aflatoxins (B1, B2, G1, and G2) in nuts, cereals, dried fruits, and spices was developed consisting of in-tube solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coupled with liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS). Aflatoxins were separated within 8 min by high-performance liquid chromatography using a Zorbax Eclipse XDB-C8 column with methanol/acetonitrile (60/40, v/v): 5 mM ammonium formate (45:55) as the mobile phase. Electrospray ionization conditions in the positive ion mode were optimized for MS detection of aflatoxins. The pseudo-molecular ions [M+H]+ were used to detect aflatoxins in selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode. The optimum in-tube SPME conditions were 25 draw/eject cycles of 40 μL of sample using a Supel-Q PLOT capillary column as an extraction device. The extracted aflatoxins were readily desorbed from the capillary by passage of the mobile phase, and no carryover was observed. Using the in-tube SPME LC–MS with SIM method, good linearity of the calibration curve (r > 0.9994) was obtained in the concentration range of 0.05–2.0 ng/mL using aflatoxin M1 as an internal standard, and the detection limits (S/N = 3) of aflatoxins were 2.1–2.8 pg/mL. The in-tube SPME method showed >23-fold higher sensitivity than the direct injection method (10 μL injection volume). The within-day and between-day precision (relative standard deviations) at the concentration of 1 ng/mL aflatoxin mixture were below 3.3% and 7.7% (n = 5), respectively. This method was applied successfully to analysis of food samples without interference peaks. The recoveries of aflatoxins spiked into nuts and cereals were >80%, and the relative standard deviations were <11.2%. Aflatoxins were detected at <10 ng/g in several commercial food samples.  相似文献

An optimised extraction and cleanup method for the analysis of pesticide in natural water samples is presented. Sixteen pesticides of different polarity and from the different chemical classes (organophosphates, triazines, benzimidazoles, carbamates, carbamides, neonicotinoides, methylureas, phenylureas and benzohydrazides), most frequently used in Serbia, were selected for the analysis. Liquid-phase microextraction in a single hollow fibre (HF-LPME) has been applied for sample preparation. The concentrations of pesticides were determined using HPLC-MS/MS method with electrospray ionisation. The extraction behaviour and selection of the experimental conditions was predicted based on log D and pK a values of targeted pesticides, which were calculated applying the computer software ACD/Labs PhysChem Suite v12. The influence of the donor pH and concentration of pesticides, organic phase composition as well as the extraction time on the extraction efficiency was investigated. Optimum extraction conditions were evaluated with respect to the investigated parameters of the extraction. The extraction method was validated for 10 out of 16 studied pesticides. Linear range of the pesticides was 0.1–5 μg L−1 with the correlation coefficient from 0.991 to 0.9998, and the relative standard deviation for three standard measurements was between 0.2 and 11.8%. The limits of detections ranged from 0.026 to 0.237 μg L−1 and the limits of quantifications from 0.094 to 0.793 μg L−1. The optimised two-phase HF-LPME method was successfully applied for determination of moderately polar as well low-polar pesticides in the environmental water samples.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive method for the determination of patulin in fruit juice and dried fruit samples was developed using a fully automated method consisting of in-tube solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coupled with liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS). Patulin was separated within 5 min by high-performance liquid chromatography using a Synergi MAX-RP 80A column and water/acetonitrile (80/20, v/v) as the mobile phase. Electrospray ionization conditions in the negative ion mode were optimized for MS detection of patulin. The pseudo-molecular ion [M−H] was used to detect patulin in selected ion monitoring (SIM) mode. The optimum in-tube SPME conditions were 25 draw/eject cycles of 40 μL of sample using a Carboxen 1006 PLOT capillary column as an extraction device. The extracted patulin was readily desorbed from the capillary by passage of the mobile phase, and no carry-over was observed. Using the in-tube SPME LC–MS with SIM method, good linearity of the calibration curve (r = 0.9996) was obtained in the concentration range of 0.5–20 ng/mL using 13C3-patulin as an internal standard, and the detection limit (S/N = 3) of patulin was 23.5 pg/mL. The in-tube SPME method showed >83-fold higher sensitivity than the direct injection method (10 μL injection volume). The within-day and between-day precision (relative standard deviations) were below 0.8% and 5.0% (n = 6), respectively. This method was applied successfully for the analysis of fruit juice and dried fruit samples without interference peaks. The recoveries of patulin spiked into apple juice were >92%, and the relative standard deviations were <4.5%. Patulin was detected at ng/mL levels in various commercial apple juice samples.  相似文献
