A second‐order finite difference/pseudospectral scheme is proposed for numerical approximation of multi‐term time fractional diffusion‐wave equation with Neumann boundary conditions. The scheme is based upon the weighted and shifted Grünwald difference operators approximation of the time fractional calculus and Gauss‐Lobatto‐Legendre‐Birkhoff (GLLB) pseudospectral method for spatial discretization. The unconditionally stability and convergence of the scheme are rigorously proved. Numerical examples are carried out to verify theoretical results.  相似文献

Since population behaviors possess the characteristic of history memory, we, in this paper, introduce time fractional‐order derivatives into a diffusive Gause‐type predator‐prey model, which is time fractional‐order reaction‐diffusion equations and a generalized form of its corresponding first‐derivative model. For this kind of model, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a global positive solution by using the theory of evolution equations and the comparison principle of time fractional‐order partial differential equations. Besides, we obtain the stability and Hopf bifurcation of the Gause‐type predator‐prey model in the forms of the time fractional‐order ordinary equations and of the time fractional‐order reaction‐diffusion equations, respectively. Our results show that the stable region of the parameters in these 2 models can be enlarged by the time fractional‐order derivatives. Some numerical simulations are made to verify our results.  相似文献

In this paper, a new two‐dimensional fractional polynomials based on the orthonormal Bernstein polynomials has been introduced to provide an approximate solution of nonlinear fractional partial Volterra integro‐differential equations. For this aim, the fractional‐order orthogonal Bernstein polynomials (FOBPs) are constructed, and its operational matrices of integration, fractional‐order integration, and derivative in the Caputo sense and product operational matrix are derived. These operational matrices are utilized to reduce the under study problem to a nonlinear system of algebraic equations. Using the approximation of FOBPs, the convergence analysis and error estimate associated to the proposed problem have been investigated. Finally, several examples are included to clarify the validity, efficiency, and applicability of the proposed technique via FOBPs approximation.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel approach, namely, the linearization‐based approach of homotopy analysis method, to analytically treat non‐linear time‐fractional PDEs is proposed. The presented approach suggests a new optimized structure of the homotopy series solution based on a linear approximation of the non‐linear problem. A comparative study between the proposed approach and standard homotopy analysis approach is illustrated by solving two examples involving non‐linear time‐fractional parabolic PDEs. The performed numerical simulations demonstrate that the linearization‐based approach reduces the computational complexity and improves the performance of the homotopy analysis method.  相似文献

In this paper, a numerical solution of fractional partial differential equations (FPDEs) for electromagnetic waves in dielectric media will be discussed. For the solution of FPDEs, we developed a numerical collocation method using an algorithm based on two‐dimensional shifted Legendre polynomials approximation, which is proposed for electromagnetic waves in dielectric media. By implementing the partial Riemann–Liouville fractional derivative operators, two‐dimensional shifted Legendre polynomials approximation and its operational matrix along with collocation method are used to convert FPDEs first into weakly singular fractional partial integro‐differential equations and then converted weakly singular fractional partial integro‐differential equations into system of algebraic equation. Some results concerning the convergence analysis and error analysis are obtained. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique. Based on the superconvergent approximation at some point (depending on the fractional order α, but not belonging to the mesh points) for Grünwald discretization to fractional derivative, we develop a series of high‐order quasi‐compact schemes for space fractional diffusion equations. Because of the quasi‐compactness of the derived schemes, no points beyond the domain are used for all the high‐order schemes including second‐order, third‐order, fourth‐order, and even higher‐order schemes; moreover, the algebraic equations for all the high‐order schemes have the completely same matrix structure. The stability and convergence analysis for some typical schemes are made; the techniques of treating the fractional derivatives with nonhomogeneous boundaries are introduced; and extensive numerical experiments are performed to confirm the theoretical analysis or verify the convergence orders. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We propose a nonintrusive reduced‐order modeling method based on the notion of space‐time‐parameter proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) for approximating the solution of nonlinear parametrized time‐dependent partial differential equations. A two‐level POD method is introduced for constructing spatial and temporal basis functions with special properties such that the reduced‐order model satisfies the boundary and initial conditions by construction. A radial basis function approximation method is used to estimate the undetermined coefficients in the reduced‐order model without resorting to Galerkin projection. This nonintrusive approach enables the application of our approach to general problems with complicated nonlinearity terms. Numerical studies are presented for the parametrized Burgers' equation and a parametrized convection‐reaction‐diffusion problem. We demonstrate that our approach leads to reduced‐order models that accurately capture the behavior of the field variables as a function of the spatial coordinates, the parameter vector and time. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel collocation method based on Genocchi wavelet is presented for the numerical solution of fractional differential equations and time‐fractional partial differential equations with delay. In this work, to achieve the approximate solution with height accuracy, we employed the operational matrix of integer derivative and the pseudo‐operational matrix of fractional derivative in Caputo sense. Also, based on Genocchi function properties, we presented delay and pantograph operational matrices of Genocchi wavelet functions (GWFs). Due to operational and pseudo‐operational matrices, the equations under this study can be turned into nonlinear algebraic equations with the unknown GWF coefficients. For illustrating the upper bound of error for the proposed method, we estimate the error in the sense of Sobolev space. In addition, to demonstrate the efficacy of the pseudo‐operational matrix of fractional derivative, we investigate the upper bound of error for the mentioned matrix. Finally, the algorithm based on the proposed approach is implemented for some numerical experiments to confirm accuracy and applicability.  相似文献

In this paper, an effective numerical approach based on a new two‐dimensional hybrid of parabolic and block‐pulse functions (2D‐PBPFs) is presented for solving nonlinear partial quadratic integro‐differential equations of fractional order. Our approach is based on 2D‐PBPFs operational matrix method together with the fractional integral operator, described in the Riemann–Liouville sense. The main characteristic behind this approach is to reduce such problems to those of solving systems of algebraic equations, which greatly simplifies the problem. By using Newton's iterative method, this system is solved, and the solution of fractional nonlinear partial quadratic integro‐differential equations is achieved. Convergence analysis and an error estimate associated with the proposed method is obtained, and it is proved that the numerical convergence order of the suggested numerical method is O(h3) . The validity and applicability of the method are demonstrated by solving three numerical examples. Numerical examples are presented in the form of tables and graphs to make comparisons with the exact solutions much easier.  相似文献

This study presents a robust modification of Chebyshev ? ‐weighted Crank–Nicolson method for analyzing the sub‐diffusion equations in the Caputo fractional sense. In order to solve the problem, by discretization of the sub‐fractional diffusion equations using Taylor's expansion a linear system of algebraic equations that can be analyzed by numerical methods is presented. Furthermore, consistency, convergence, and stability analysis of the suggested method are discussed. In this framework, compact structures of sub‐diffusion equations are considered as prototype examples. The main advantage of the proposed method is that, it is more efficient in terms of CPU time, computational cost and accuracy in comparing with the existing ones in open literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a two‐dimensional multi‐term time‐fractional Oldroyd‐B equation on a rectangular domain. Its analytical solution is obtained by the method of separation of variables. We employ the finite difference method with a discretization of the Caputo time‐fractional derivative to obtain an implicit difference approximation for the equation. Stability and convergence of the approximation scheme are established in the L ‐norm. Two examples are given to illustrate the theoretical analysis and analytical solution. The results indicate that the present numerical method is effective for this general two‐dimensional multi‐term time‐fractional Oldroyd‐B model.  相似文献

In this article, a kind of meshless local radial point interpolation (MLRPI) method is proposed to two‐dimensional fractional‐time convection‐diffusion‐reaction equations and satisfactory agreements are archived. This method is based on meshless methods and benefits from collocation ideas but it does not belong to the traditional global meshless collocation methods. In MLRPI method, it does not need any kind of integration locally or globally over small quadrature domains which is essential in the finite element method and those meshless methods based on Galerkin weak form. Also, it is not needed to determine shape parameter which plays important role in collocation method based on the radial basis functions (Kansa's method). Therefore, computational costs of this kind of MLRPI method is less expensive. The stability and convergence of this meshless approach are discussed and theoretically proven. It is proved that the present meshless formulation is very effective for modeling and simulation of fractional differential equations. Furthermore, the numerical studies on sensitivity analysis and convergence analysis show the stability and reliable rates of convergence. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, we present a novel discrete scheme based on Genocchi polynomials and fractional Laguerre functions to solve multiterm variable‐order time‐fractional partial differential equations (M‐V‐TFPDEs) in the large interval. In this purpose, the accurate modified operational matrices are constructed to reduce the problems into a system of algebraic equations. Also, the computational algorithm based on the method and modified operational matrices in the large interval is easily implemented. Furthermore, we discuss the error estimation of the proposed method. Ultimately, to confirm our theoretical analysis and accuracy of numerical approach, several examples are presented.  相似文献

We present the method of lines (MOL), which is based on the spectral collocation method, to solve space‐fractional advection‐diffusion equations (SFADEs) on a finite domain with variable coefficients. We focus on the cases in which the SFADEs consist of both left‐ and right‐sided fractional derivatives. To do so, we begin by introducing a new set of basis functions with some interesting features. The MOL, together with the spectral collocation method based on the new basis functions, are successfully applied to the SFADEs. Finally, four numerical examples, including benchmark problems and a problem with discontinuous advection and diffusion coefficients, are provided to illustrate the efficiency and exponentially accuracy of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this article, an efficient fourth‐order accurate numerical method based on Padé approximation in space and singly diagonally implicit Runge‐Kutta method in time is proposed to solve the time‐dependent one‐dimensional reaction‐diffusion equation. In this scheme, we first approximate the spatial derivative using the second‐order central finite difference then improve it to fourth‐order by applying Padé approximation. A three stage fourth‐order singly diagonally implicit Runge‐Kutta method is then used to solve the resulting system of ordinary differential equations. It is also shown that the scheme is unconditionally stable, and is suitable for stiff problems. Several numerical examples are solved by the scheme and the efficiency and accuracy of the new scheme are compared with two widely used high‐order compact finite difference methods. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this work, we present numerical analysis for nonlinear multi‐term time fractional differential equation which involve Caputo‐type fractional derivatives for . The proposed method is based on utilization of fractional B‐spline basics in collocation method. The scheme can be readily obtained efficient and quite accurate with less computational work numerical result. The proposal approach transform nonlinear multi‐term time fractional differential equation into a suitable linear system of algebraic equations which can be solved by a suitable numerical method. The numerical experiments will be verify to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method for solving one‐ and two‐dimensional multi‐term time fractional differential equation.  相似文献

In this paper, a new computational scheme based on operational matrices (OMs) of two‐dimensional wavelets is proposed for the solution of variable‐order (VO) fractional partial integro‐differential equations (PIDEs). To accomplish this method, first OMs of integration and VO fractional derivative (FD) have been derived using two‐dimensional Legendre wavelets. By implementing two‐dimensional wavelets approximations and the OMs of integration and variable‐order fractional derivative (VO‐FD) along with collocation points, the VO fractional partial PIDEs are reduced into the system of algebraic equations. In addition to this, some useful theorems are discussed to establish the convergence analysis and error estimate of the proposed numerical technique. Furthermore, computational efficiency and applicability are examined through some illustrative examples.  相似文献

Higher order non‐Fickian diffusion theories involve fourth‐order linear partial differential equations and their solutions. A quintic polynomial spline technique is used for the numerical solutions of fourth‐order partial differential equations with Caputo time fractional derivative on a finite domain. These equations occur in many applications in real life problems such as modeling of plates and thin beams, strain gradient elasticity, and phase separation in binary mixtures, which are basic elements in engineering structures and are of great practical significance to civil, mechanical, and aerospace engineering. The quintic polynomial spline technique is used for space discretization and the time‐stepping is done using a backward Euler method based on the L1 approximation to the Caputo derivative. The stability and convergence analysis are also discussed. The numerical results are given, which demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the numerical method. The numerical results obtained in this article are also compared favorably well with the results of (S. S. Siddiqi and S. Arshed, Int. J. Comput. Math. 92 (2015), 1496–1518). © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 33: 445–466, 2017  相似文献

A high‐accuracy numerical approach for a nonhomogeneous time‐fractional diffusion equation with Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions is described in this paper. The time‐fractional derivative is described in the sense of Riemann‐Liouville and discretized by the backward Euler scheme. A fourth‐order optimal cubic B‐spline collocation (OCBSC) method is used to discretize the space variable. The stability analysis with respect to time discretization is carried out, and it is shown that the method is unconditionally stable. Convergence analysis of the method is performed. Two numerical examples are considered to demonstrate the performance of the method and validate the theoretical results. It is shown that the proposed method is of order Ox4 + Δt2 ? α) convergence, where α ∈ (0,1) . Moreover, the impact of fractional‐order derivative on the solution profile is investigated. Numerical results obtained by the present method are compared with those obtained by the method based on standard cubic B‐spline collocation method. The CPU time for present numerical method and the method based on cubic B‐spline collocation method are provided.  相似文献

This paper presents a shifted fractional‐order Jacobi orthogonal function (SFJF) based on the definition of the classical Jacobi polynomial. A new fractional integral operational matrix of the SFJF is presented and derived. We propose the spectral Tau method, in conjunction with the operational matrices of the Riemann–Liouville fractional integral for SFJF and derivative for Jacobi polynomial, to solve a class of time‐fractional partial differential equations with variable coefficients. In this algorithm, the approximate solution is expanded by means of both SFJFs for temporal discretization and Jacobi polynomials for spatial discretization. The proposed tau scheme, both in temporal and spatial discretizations, successfully reduced such problem into a system of algebraic equations, which is far easier to be solved. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the high accuracy and superiority of the proposed algorithm over existing ones. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
