We prove multiplicity of periodic solutions for a scalar second order differential equation with an asymmetric nonlinearity, thus generalizing previous results by Lazer and McKenna (1987) [1] and Del Pino, Manasevich and Murua (1992) [2]. The main improvement lies in the fact that we do not require any differentiability condition on the nonlinearity. The proof is based on the use of the Poincaré-Birkhoff Fixed Point Theorem.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of difference equations coupled with periodic boundary value conditions. We deduce the existence of at least one positive solution provided that the nonlinear part of the equation satisfies some monotonicity assumptions and the existence of a positive upper solution. The result is obtained from a new fixed point theorem based on the classical Krasnoselskii's cone expansion/contraction theorem and the constant sign properties of the related Green's function.  相似文献

In this paper we mainly study the existence of periodic solutions for a system of delay differential equations representing a simple two-neuron network model of Hopfield type with time-delayed connections between the neurons. We first examine the local stability of the trivial solution, propose some sufficient conditions for the uniqueness of equilibria and then apply the Poincaré-Bendixson theorem for monotone cyclic feedback delayed systems to establish the existence of periodic solutions. In addition, a sufficient condition that ensures the trivial solution to be globally exponentially stable is also given. Numerical examples are provided to support the theoretical analysis.  相似文献
