Treating the black hole molecules as working substance and considering its phase structure, we study the black hole heat engine by a charged anti-de Sitter black hole. In the reduced temperature-entropy chart, it is found that the work, heat, and efficiency of the engine are free of the black hole charge. Applying the Rankine cycle with or without a back pressure mechanism to the black hole heat engine, the compact formula for the efficiency is obtained. And the heat, work and efficiency are worked out. The result shows that the black hole engine working along the Rankine cycle with a back pressure mechanism has a higher efficiency. This provides a novel and efficient mechanism to produce the useful mechanical work, and such black hole heat engine may act as a possible energy source for the high energy astrophysical phenomena near the black hole.  相似文献

In this paper,we discuss the P-v criticality and the heat engine efficiency in the Bardeen EinsteinGauss-Bonnet (EGB) AdS black hole space-time.From the P-v plane in the extended phase space,we find that the Bardeen EGB-AdS black hole conforms to Van der Waals (VdW) liquid-gas systems in the extended phase space, and P_cv_/T_c=0.369 of the Bardeen EGB-AdS black hole system is between 0.3333 of the Gauss-Bonnet AdS black hole system and 0.375 of the VdW gas system in the 5-dimensions.Then we construct a heat engine by taking the Bardeen EGB-AdS black hole as the working substance, and consider a rectangle heat cycle in the P-v plane. We find that two cases with different Bardeen parameter e and Gauss-Bonnet parameter a both have the same situation,i.e.as the entropy difference between small black hole and large black hole S2 increases, the heat engine efficiency will increase.Furthermore,as the Bardeen parameter e increases, the efficiency will decrease. However, for the Gauss-Bonnet parameter a,the result is contrary.By comparing with the well-know Carnot heat engine efficiency,we have found the efficiency ratioη/η_c versus entropy S_2 is bounded below l,so it is coincided with the thermodynamical second law.  相似文献

We consider a four-dimensional charged hyperbolic black hole as working matter to establish a black hole holographic heat engine, and use the rectangular cycle to obtain the heat engine efficiency. We find that when the increasing of entropy is zero, the heat engine efficiency of the hyperbolic black hole becomes the well-known Carnot efficiency. We also find that less charge corresponds to higher efficiency in the case of $\tilde{q}>0$. Furthermore, we study the efficiency of the flat case and spherical case and compare the efficiency with that of the hyperbolic charged black holes. Finally, we use numerical simulation to study the efficiency in benchmark scheme.  相似文献

A Carnot cycle outside a Schwarzschild black hole is investigated in detail. We propose a reversible Carnot cycle with a black hole being the cold reservoir. In our model, a Carnot engine operates between a hot reservoir with temperature T1 and a black hole with Hawking temperature TH. By naturally extending the ordinary Carnot cycle to the black hole system, we show that the thermal efficiency for a reversible process can reach the maximal efficiency 1-TH/T1. Consequently, black holes can be used to determine the thermodynamic temperature by means of the Carnot cycle. The role of the atmosphere around the black hole is discussed. We show that the thermal atmosphere provides a necessary mechanism to make the process reversible.  相似文献

We investigate the thermodynamical properties of charged torus-like black holes and take it as the working substance to study the heat engines. In the extended phase space, by interpreting the cosmological constant as the thermodynamic pressure, we derive the thermodynamical quantities by the first law of black hole thermodynamics and obtain the equation of state. Then, we calculate the efficiency of the heat engine in the Carnot cycle as well as the rectangular cycle, and investigate how the efficiency changes with respect to volume. In addition, to avoid a negative temperature, we emphasize that the charge of this black hole cannot be arbitrary. Last,we check the calculation accuracy of a benchmark scheme and discuss the upper bound and lower bound for charged torus-like black hole in the scheme.  相似文献

We analyze certain aspects of BTZ black holes in massive theory of gravity. The black hole solution is obtained by using the Vainshtein and dRGT mechanism, which is asymptotically AdS with an electric charge. We study the Hawking radiation using the tunneling formalism as well as analyze the black hole chemistry for such system. Subsequently, we use the thermodynamic pressure-volume diagram to explore the efficiency of the Carnot heat engine for this system. Some of the important features arising from our solution include the non-existence of quantum effects, critical Van der Walls behaviour, thermal fluctuations and instabilities. Moreover, our solution violates the Reverse Isoperimetric Inequality and, thus, the black hole is super-entropic, perhaps which turns out to be the most interesting characteristics of the BTZ black hole in massive gravity.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the heat engine where a charged AdS black hole surrounded by dark energy is the working substance and the mechanical work is done via the PdV term in the first law of black hole thermodynamics in the extended phase space. We first investigate the effects of a kind of dark energy (quintessence field in this paper) on the efficiency of the RN-AdS black holes as the heat engine defined as a rectangular closed path in the PV plane. We get the exact efficiency formula and find that the quintessence field can improve the heat engine efficiency, which will increase as the field density \(\rho _q\) grows. At some fixed parameters, we find that a larger volume difference between the smaller black holes(\(V_1\)) and the bigger black holes(\(V_2\) ) will lead to a lower efficiency, while the bigger pressure difference \(P_1-P_4\) will make the efficiency higher, but it is always smaller than 1 and will never be beyond the Carnot efficiency, which is the maximum value of the efficiency constrained by thermodynamics laws; this is consistent to the heat engine in traditional thermodynamics. After making some special choices for the thermodynamical quantities, we find that the increase of the electric charge Q and the normalization factor a can also promote the heat engine efficiency, which would infinitely approach the Carnot limit when Q or a goes to infinity.  相似文献

In this article, we study the circular motion of particles and the well-known Penrose mechanism around a Kerr-Newman-Kasuya black hole spacetime. The inner and outer horizons, as well as ergosurfaces of the said black hole, are briefly examined under the effect of spin and dyonic charge. Moreover, by limiting our exploration to the equatorial plane, we discuss the characteristics of circular geodesics and investigate both photons, as well as marginally stable circular orbits. It is noted that black hole charge diminishing the radii of photon and marginally stable circular orbits. To investigate the nature of particle dynamics, we studied the effective potential and Lyapunov exponent. While inspecting the process of energy extraction, we derived the Wald inequality, which can help us to locate the energy limits of the Penrose process. Furthermore, we have found expressions for the negative energy states and the efficiency of energy extraction. The obtained result illustrates that both black hole rotation and dyonic charge contributes to the efficiency of energy extraction.  相似文献

Hawking radiation can be viewed as a process of quantum tunnelling near black hole horizon. When a particle with angular momentum tunnels across the event horizon of Schwarzschild black hole, the black hole will change into a Kerr black hole. The emission rate of the massless particles with angular momentum is calculated, and the result is consistent with an underlying unitary theory.  相似文献

Taking into account the effect of the generalized uncertainty principle on the generalized black hole entropy and tacking the thin film brick-wall model, we calculate the entropy of the quantum scalar field in generalized static black hole. The Bekenstein–Hawking entropies of all well-known static black holes are obtained. The entropy of 2-D membrane just at the event horizon of static black hole is also calculated, and the result of the black hole entropy proportional to the event horizon area can be obtained more easily and generally. This discussion shows that black hole entropy is just identified with the entropy of the quantum field on the event horizon. The difference from the original brick-wall model is that the present result is convergent without any cutoff and the little mass approximation is removed. With residue theorem, the integral difficulty in the calculation of black hole entropy is overcome.  相似文献

Quantum Entropy of Black Hole with Internal Global Monopole   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Using the generalized uncertainty relation, the new equation of state density is obtained, and then the entropy of black hole with an internal global monopole is discussed. The divergence that appears in black hole entropy calculation through original brick-wall model is overcome. The result of the direct proportion between black hole entropy and its event horizon area is drawn and given. The result shows that the black hole entropy must be the entropy of quantum state near the event horizon.  相似文献

An exact energy expression for a physical black hole is derived by considering the escape of a photon from the black hole. The mass of the black hole within its horizon is found to be twice its mass as observed at infinity. This result is important in understanding gravitational waves in black hole collisions.  相似文献

Based on the ideas of adiabatic invariant quantity, we attempt to quantize the entropy of a charged black hole in de Sitter spacetime in two different coordinates. The entropy spectrum is obtained by imposing Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization rule and the laws of black hole thermodynamics to the modified adiabatic covariant action of the charged black hole. The result shows that the spacing of entropy spectrum is equidistant, and the corresponding horizon area quantum is identical to Bekenstein’s result. Interestingly, in contrast to the quasinormal mode analysis, we note that there is no need to impose the small charge limit for the obtained entropy spectrum of the charged black hole. We also note that the modified adiabatic covariant action gives the same value for the black hole entropy spectrum in different coordinate frames. This is a physically desired result since the entropy spectrum should be invariant under the coordinate transformations.  相似文献

This work investigates the feasibility of detecting close, detached, black hole-red dwarf binaries, which are expected to be evolutionary precursors of low-mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs). Although this pre-low-mass X-ray binary (pre-LMXB) phase of evolution is predicted theoretically, as yet no such systems have been identified observationally. The calculations presented here suggest that the X-ray luminosity of black hole wind accretion in a pre-LMXB system could exceed the intrinsic X-ray luminosity of the red dwarf secondary star, thereby providing a detection mechanism. However, there is significant uncertainty regarding the efficiency of the conversion of gravitational potential energy to X-ray luminosity resulting from accretion onto a black hole, for example energy may be lost via advection across the event horizon. Still, sources with X-ray luminosities greater than that expected for a red dwarf star, but whose positions coincide with that of a red dwarf would represent candidate pre-LMXB systems. These candidates should be surveyed for the radial velocity shifts that would occur as a result of the orbital motion of a red dwarf star within a close binary system containing a black hole.   相似文献

The z=3 Lifshitz black hole is an exact black hole solution to the new massive gravity in three dimensions. In order to understand this black hole clearly, we perform a dimensional reduction to two-dimensional dilaton gravity by utilizing the circular symmetry. Considering the linear dilaton, we find the same Lifshitz black hole in two dimensions. This implies that all thermodynamic quantities of the z=3 Lifshitz black hole could be obtained from its corresponding black hole in two dimensions. As a result, we derive the temperature, mass, heat capacity, Bekenstein–Hawking entropy, and free energy.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider both Einstein's theory of general relativity and the teleparallel gravity (the tetrad theory of gravitation) analogs of the energy-momentum definition of Møller in order to explicitly evaluate the energy distribution (due to matter and fields including gravity) associated with a general black hole model which includes several well-known black holes. To calculate the special cases of energy distribution, here we consider eight different types of black hole models such as anti-de Sitter Cmetric with spherical topology, charged regular black hole, conformal scalar dyon black hole, dyadosphere of a charged black hole, regular black hole, charged topological black hole, charged massless black hole with a scalar field, and the Schwarzschild-de Sitter space-time. Our teleparallel gravitational result is also independent of the teleparallel dimensionless coupling constant, which means that it is valid not only in teleparallel equivalent of general relativity but also in any teleparallel model. This paper also sustains (a) the importance of the energy-momentum definitions in the evaluation of the energy distribution of a given spacetime and (b) the viewpoint of Lessner that the Møller energy-momentum complex is the powerful concept to calculate energy distribution in a given space-time.  相似文献

In models with extra dimensions, a black hole evaporates both in the bulk and on the visible brane, where standard model fields live. The exact emissivities of each particle species are needed to determine how the black hole decay proceeds. We compute and discuss the absorption cross sections, the relative emissivities, and the total power output of all known fields in the evaporation phase. Graviton emissivity is highly enhanced as the spacetime dimensionality increases. Therefore, a black hole loses a significant fraction of its mass in the bulk. This result has important consequences for the phenomenology of black holes in models with extra dimensions and black hole detection in particle colliders.  相似文献

We improve the fermion tunnelling theory proposed by Kerner and Mann, and research into the fermion tunnelling radiation from a Finslerian black hole. The Finsler black hole put forward by Rutz is a solution of Einstein's vacuum field equations in Finsler theory. We study the radiation from the black hole with a semi-classical method, and the result proves that the tunnelling rate depends on the tangent vector.  相似文献

We present a model of jet precession driven by a neutrino-cooled disk around a spinning black hole to explain the quasi-periodic features observed in some gamma-ray burst light curves. The different orientations of the rotational axes between the outer part of a neutrino-cooled disk and a black hole result in precessions of the central black hole and the inner part of the disk.Hence, the jet arising from the neutrino annihilation above the inner disk is driven to precession. We find that the period of precession is positively correlated with the mass as well as the spin of a black hole.  相似文献

The notion of black hole singularity and the proof of the singularity theorem were considered great successes in classical general relativity whereas they meanwhile brought with deep puzzles. Conceptual challenges were set up by the intractability of the singularity. The existence of black hole horizons which cover up the black hole interior including the singularity from outside observers, builds an information curtain, further hindering physicists from understanding the nature of the singularity and the interior structure of black holes. The regular black hole is a concept produced out of multiple attempts of establishing a tractable and understandable interior structure for black holes as well as avoiding the singularity behind the black hole horizon. The practicality of the new constructions of black holes would be considered more reliable if there can be found some connection between the interior of regular black holes and some far-reaching signals released from the black hole. After studying the Hawking radiation by fermion tunnelling from one type of regular black hole, structure dependent results were obtained. The result being structure dependent hints the prospects of employing the Hawking radiation as a method to probe into the structure of black holes.  相似文献
