High-contrast microscopy of semiconductor and metal sites in integrated circuits is demonstrated with laser-scanning confocal reflectance microscopy, one-photon (1P) optical-beam-induced current (OBIC) imaging, and detection of optical feedback by means of a commercially available semiconductor laser that also acts as an excitation source. The confocal microscope has a compact in-line arrangement with no external photodetector. Confocal and 1P OBIC images are obtained simultaneously from the same focused beam scanned across the sample plane. Image pairs are processed to generate exclusive high-contrast distributions of semiconductor, metal, and dielectric sites in a GaAs photodiode array sample.  相似文献

To improve the efficiency of confocal optical beam induced current (OBIC) and the non-destructive, high-resolution analysis of semiconductor media we report the application of a white-light supercontinuum laser source capable of confocal OBIC across a wide spectral range. To demonstrate the capability of this source, we performed confocal OBIC of light emitting diodes with varying absorption and emission properties in the visible spectrum. Using the wavelength flexibility afforded by the broadband laser source, we were able to determine and apply the optimum excitation wavelength range for efficient confocal OBIC instead of applying inferior fixed wavelength laser sources. We measured the fluorescence intensity and anisotropy decays of 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (DPH)-labeled membranes resulting from simultaneous two-photon excitation of fluorescence. Comparison of these two-photon data with the more usual one-photon measurements revealed that DPH displayed identical intensity decays, anisotropy decays, and order parameters for one- and two-photon excitation. While the anisotropy data are numerically distinct, they can be compared by use of the factor 10/7, which accounts for the two-photon versus one-photon photoselection. The increased time 0 anisotropy of DPH can result in increased resolution of complex anisotropy decays. Global analysis of the one- and two-photon data reveals consistency with a single apparent angle between the absorption and the emission oscillators. The global anisotropy analysis also suggests that, except for the photoselection factor, the anisotropy decays are the same for one-and two-photon excitation. This ideal behavior of DPH as a two-photon absorber, and its high two-photon cross section, makes DPH a potential probe for confocal two-photon microscopy and other systems where it is advantageous to use long-wavelength (680- to 760-nm) excitation.  相似文献

Enhanced two-photon fluorescence (TPF) spectroscopy with novel high-finesse resonant polymeric grating waveguide structures (GWSs) is presented. Under resonant conditions the field enhancement at the surface of a GWS can be exploited for TPF spectroscopy without the need for highly focused laser excitation light. We compare the TPF obtained by placing a drop of tetramethylrhodamine (TMR) on top of a GWS with that obtained with TMR on top of a glass substrate. Our procedure and results indicate that the detection of TPF can be improved by a factor of 10 with resonant GWSs.  相似文献

We analyze the influence of residual two-photon excitation (2PE) in two-color (two-photon) optical beam induced current (2CE-OBIC) generation in wide band gap semiconductor samples. 2CE-OBIC generation is accomplished with two confocal excitation beams of separation angle θ and wavelengths λ1 and λ2 where , λe = hc/Eb, h is the Planck’s constant, c is speed of light in vacuum, and Eb is the energy band gap. Because the conduction band of the sample is a continuum, at least one excitation beam would also contribute an undesirable 2PE-OBIC signal that degrades the signal-to-noise ratio of the measured 2CE-OBIC response and broadens the effective OBIC distribution in the sample particularly when θ ≠ 0 or π. We show that the deleterious effects of crosstalk are reduced by a careful selection of λ1 and λ2 and the relative excitation beam intensities. λ1 and λ2 should be chosen to minimize the ratio of the two-photon absorption coefficients (β1β2) to the 2CE absorption coefficient β12 or at least satisfy the constraint: β1 + β2  β12. Keeping the two excitation intensities equal is beneficial only when β1 = β2. Otherwise, it is advantageous to bias the intensity ratio towards the wavelength with a lower 2PE absorption coefficient.  相似文献

We report a pump-probe study of the two-photon induced reflectivity changes in bis (n-butylimido) perylene thin films. To enhance the two-photon excitation we deposited bis (n-butylimido) perylene films on top of gold nanoislands. The observed transient response in the reflectivity spectrum of bis (n-butylimido) perylene is due to a depletion of the molecule’s ground state and excited state absorption.  相似文献

采用有限元法来模拟研究采用透明电极AlGaInP LED出光效率的影响因素和分布情况,并在此基础上对不透明电极进行优化以提高芯片的出光效率。研究发现,随着窗口层厚度的增加,顶面出光效率有所下降,侧面出光效率大大提高,总出光效率呈上升趋势,且总出光效率的最高分布区从芯片的四个直角区域向中央圆形电极边缘靠近。然而,随着芯片尺寸的增加,其变化趋势正好与之相反。在此基础上进一步对普通生产芯片进行模拟分析,得知其光提取效率最高区主要分布在芯片的四个直角区域,并以此为指导进行不透明电极形状的优化,进而对其条形电极的宽度进行优化,可使所获得的出光效率比传统圆形电极提高了62.85%,能够为实际生产提供一定的理论指导。  相似文献

Applying a recently developed theoretical framework for determining two-photon excitation Hamiltonians using average Hamiltonian theory, we calculate the excitation produced by half-resonant irradiation of the pure quadrupole resonance of a spin-3/2 system. This formalism provides expressions for the single-quantum and double-quantum mutation frequencies as well as the Bloch-Siegert shift. The dependence of the excitation strength on RF field orientation and the appearance of the free-induction signal along an axis perpendicular to the excitation field provide an unmistakable signature of two-photon excitation. We demonstrate single- and double-quantum excitation in an axially symmetric system using 35Cl in a single crystal of potassium chlorate (omega(Q) = 28 MHz) with crossed-coil detection. A rotation plot verifies the orientation dependence of the two-photon excitation, and double-quantum coherences are observed directly with the application of a static external magnetic field.  相似文献

Preliminary results of investigation of one-photon- and two-photon-induced fluorescence of acridine orange (AO), epirubicin (ER), hypericin (HYP), and ethidium bromide (EB) in complexes with DNA are presented. A spectrofluorometer based on a picosecond Nd:YAG laser was used for investigations of two-photon (1064-nm, 1-mJ, 40-ps) and one-photon (532- and 355-nm) dye excitation. The spectra of two-photon-induced fluorescence of dyes and their complexes with DNA as well as the kinetics of dyes' fluorescence intensification during their interactions with DNA in dependence on the biomacromolecule concentration were obtained. The intensities of AO, HYP, and EB fluorescence were increased 2.4, 3.2, and 8 times, respectively, after binding with DNA at two-photon excitation, while at one-photon excitation the corresponding values were 2.5, 3.7, and 10 times. The difference in fluorescence enhancement during DNA–dye complex formation at linear and nonlinear excitation may possibly be associated with the fact that the cross sections of one-photon and two-photon absorption, in general, change unequally during the binding of dyes to organic molecules and bathocromic shift of the electronic transitions. It was shown that the peak of AO fluorescence shifted to a longer wavelength on 10 nm after two-photon excitation at 1064 nm in comparison with one-photon excitation at 532 nm.  相似文献

研究了二种新型超歧化聚合物在氯仿和二甲基甲酰胺溶剂中的飞秒激光单光子和双光子激发的光谱学特性.这二种聚合物是以苯为核、以对二甲氧基苯为连接单元,分别以二甲基苯胺为端基或以特丁基苯为端基的超歧化共轭聚合物.结果表明这种超歧化聚合物具有较大的溶剂极性相关的飞秒双光子吸收截面,不同的端基不仅影响分子内的电荷转移,而且导致超歧化分子共轭程度的变化.作为一种潜在的光学非线性材料,利用这种大的双光子吸收截面的超歧化聚合物可实现了飞秒双光子直写的三维高密度数据存储.  相似文献

Cuprous oxide (Cu2O) has attracted plenty of attention for potential nonlinear photonic applications due to its superior third-order nonlinear optical property such as two-photon absorption. In this paper, we investigated the two-photon excitation induced carrier dynamics of a Cu2O thin film prepared by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering, using the femtosecond transient absorption experiments. Biexponential dynamics including an ultrafast carrier scattering (< 1 ps) followed by a carrier recombination (> 50 ps) were observed. The time constant of carrier scattering under two-photon excitation is larger than that under one-photon excitation, due to the different transition selection rules and smaller absorption coefficient of the two-photon excitation.  相似文献

We examined the steady-state and time-resolved emission of liver alcohol dehydrogenase resulting from one-photon and two-photon excitation. Previous studies with one-photon excitation revealed that the two nonidentical tryptophan residues display different emission spectra and decay times. The use of two-photon excitation resulted in similar emission spectra, multiexponential intensity decays, time-resolved emission spectra, and anisotropy decays as was observed for one-photon excitation. These results suggest that both nonidentical tryptophan residues are excited to a similar extent for one- and two-photon excitation. 用全相对论量子力学计算H2O和HLi的双光子偶极激发。为对比起见,同时用非相对论的对称匹配团族-组态相互作用法(SAC-CI)计算其单光子激发。对于无对称中心的H2O和HLi,符合相应群的对称选择原则。双光子跃迁几率一般比单光子跃迁的小3~5个数量级。在计算双光子偶极激发时,应采用同时包含了空间的对称性和时间反转对称性的全相对论。  相似文献

We present a study of the time-integrated and time-resolved photoluminescence properties of single-InGaN/GaN quantum dots (QDs) using two-photon spectroscopy. Two samples containing QDs produced by different growth techniques are examined. We find that two-photon excitation results in the suppression of the emission from the underlying quantum well to which the QDs are coupled and yet relatively strong QD emission is observed. This effect is explained in terms of the enhancement of two-photon absorption in QDs due to the full confinement of carriers. Furthermore, evidence of the presence of excited states is revealed from the two-photon photoluminescence excitation spectra presented in the study.  相似文献

The main advantage of two-photon fluorescence confocal microscopy is the low absorption obtained with live tissues at the wavelengths of operation. However, the resolution of two-photon fluorescence confocal microscopes is lower than in the case of one-photon excitation. The 4Pi microscope type C working in two-photon regime, in which the excitation beams are coherently superimposed and, simultaneously, the emitted beams are also coherently added, has shown to be a good solution for increasing the resolution along the optical axis and for reducing the amplitude of the side lobes of the point spread function. However, the resolution in the transverse plane is poorer than in the case of one-photon excitation due to the larger wavelength involved in the two-photon fluorescence process. In this paper we show that a particular arrangement of the 4Pi microscope, referenced as 4Pi′ microscope, is a solution for obtaining a lateral resolution in the two-photon regime similar or even better to that obtained with 4Pi microscopes working in the one-photon excitation regime.  相似文献

We examined the steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectral properties of the DNA stain Hoechst 33342 for one-photon (OPE) and two-photon (TPE) excitation. Hoechst 33342 was found to display a large cross section for two-photon excitation within the fundamental wavelength range of pyridine 2 and rhodamine 6G dye lasers, 690 to 770 and 560 to 630 nm, respectively. The time-resolved measurements show that intensity decays are similar for OPE- and TPE. The anisotropy decay measurements of Hoechst 33342 in ethanol revealed the same correlation times for TPE as observed for OPE. However, the zero-time anisotropies recovered from anisotropy decay measurements are 1.4-fold higher for TPE than for OPE. The anisotropy spectra of Hoechst 33342 were examined in glycerol at ?20°C, revealing limiting values close to the theoretical limits for OPE (0.4) and TPE (0.57). The steady-state anisotropy for OPE decreases in the shorter-wavelength region (R6G dye laser, 280–315 nm), but the two-photon anisotropy for 560 to 630-nm excitation remains as high as in the long-wavelength region (690–770 nm). This result suggests that one-photon absorption is due to two electronic, but only one transition contributes to the two-photon absorption over the wavelength range from 580 to 770 nm. Our demonstration of these favorable two-photon properties for Hoechst 33342, and the high photostability of the dye reported by other laboratories, suggests that this dye will be valuable for time-resolved studies of DNA with TPE and for two-photon fluorescence microscopy.  相似文献

The features of the nonlinear absorption of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (colloidal solution) in the case of resonant one- and two-photon excitation of the basic exciton transition by powerful ultra-short laser pulses were determined. In one-photon excitation, with an increasing intensity of impulses, a decrease in absorption (bleaching) is relayed by an increase in absorption, which is associated with the process of the filling of the states (saturation) of a two-level system with the lifetime of the excited state depending on the light intensity. The arising Fresnel or Fraunhofer diffraction of the laser ray that pass through a colloidal solution with a high concentration of quantum dots is associated with the formation of the transparency channel and self-diffraction of laser ray on an induced diaphragm. In two-photon excitation, the features of the nonlinear absorption and luminescence tracks (the dependence of luminescence intensity on distance) were explained by the influence, in addition to the two-photon absorption, of the processes that are responsible for the slower growth of nonlinear absorption and luminescence quenching at high intensities of laser pulses.  相似文献

The Doppler-free two-photon transition by the use of two opposing laser beams makes the highly selective excitation of isotopic molecules possible. Saturation and pressure dependence of Doppler-free two-photon excitation with arbitrary amplitudes of the optical fields have been calculated and compared with those of the two-step transition and the single-photon transition. The result at the Doppler limit for low pressure gas reveals that the probability of the selective two-photon excitation with a moderate laser power can be larger than that of the single-photon excitation as well as that of the two-step excitation.  相似文献

The use of two-photon excitation of fluorescence for detection of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) was studied for a selected fluorescent donor–acceptor pair. A method based on labeled DNA was developed for controlling the distance between the donor and the acceptor molecules. The method consists of hybridization of fluorescent oligonucleotides to a complementary single-stranded target DNA. As the efficiency of FRET is strongly distance dependent, energy transfer does not occur unless the fluorescent oligonucleotides and the target DNA are hybridized. A high degree of DNA hybridization and an excellent FRET efficiency were verified with one-photon excited fluorescence studies. Excitation spectra of fluorophores are usually wider in case of two-photon excitation than in the case of one-photon excitation [1]. This makes the selective excitation of donor difficult and might cause errors in detection of FRET with two-photon excited fluorescence. Different techniques to analyze the FRET efficiency from two-photon excited fluorescence data are discussed. The quenching of the donor fluorescence intensity turned to be the most consistent way to detect the FRET efficiency. The two-photon excited FRET is shown to give a good response to the distance between the donor and the acceptor molecules.  相似文献
