Wax deposition is a frequent problem in oil pipelines and down-stream industries. Correct prediction of wax formation conditions is required to prevent this phenomenon. In this study, wax appearance temperature (WAT) of 12 Iranian oil and condensate samples were measured using viscometry data and differential scanning Calorimetry (DSC) analysis. Also, a new empirical correlation and intelligent artificial neural network (ANN) model were developed to estimate wax disappearance temperature (WDT) of crude oils. Specific gravity, pressure, and molecular weight of oil sample were used as input variables for these models. The ANN model was trained using different hidden neurons and training algorithms. Experimental measurements studies were used for validation of the new correlation. Comparing the results indicated that the ANN model has 0.27% error while most thermodynamic models have an average error of 0.35% to 2.19%. Also, the proposed correlation can predict WDT with good accuracy and minimum input data. Results show that this correlation has a maximum error of 1.16% for 310 published experimental data and 1.19% for 9 Iranian samples.  相似文献

The pharmaceutical industry faces increasing regulatory pressure to optimize quality control. Content uniformity is a basic release test for solid dosage forms. To accelerate test throughput and comply with the Food and Drug Administration's process analytical technology initiative, attention is increasingly turning to nondestructive spectroscopic techniques, notably near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy (NIRS). However, validation of NIRS using requisite linearity and standard error of prediction (SEP) criteria remains a challenge. This study applied wavelet transformation of the NIR spectra of a commercial tablet to build a model using conventional partial least squares (PLS) regression and an artificial neural network (ANN). Wavelet coefficients in the PLS and ANN models reduced SEP by up to 60% compared to PLS models using mathematical spectra pretreatment. ANN modeling yielded high-linearity calibration and a correlation coefficient exceeding 0.996.  相似文献

In this work, different approaches for variable selection are studied in the context of near-infrared (NIR) multivariate calibration of textile. First, a model-based regression method is proposed. It consists in genetic algorithm optimisation combined with partial least squares regression (GA-PLS). The second approach is a relevance measure of spectral variables based on mutual information (MI), which can be performed independently of any given regression model. As MI makes no assumption on the relationship between X and Y, non-linear methods such as feed-forward artificial neural network (ANN) are thus encouraged for modelling in a prediction context (MI-ANN). GA-PLS and MI-ANN models are developed for NIR quantitative prediction of cotton content in cotton-viscose textile samples. The results are compared to full-spectrum (480 variables) PLS model (FS-PLS). The model requires 11 latent variables and yielded a 3.74% RMS prediction error in the range 0-100%. GA-PLS provides more robust model based on 120 variables and slightly enhanced prediction performance (3.44% RMS error). Considering MI variable selection procedure, great improvement can be obtained as 12 variables only are retained. On the basis of these variables, a 12 inputs ANN model is trained and the corresponding prediction error is 3.43% RMS error.  相似文献

The current study investigates the potential of well-known artificial neural network (ANN), Support vector regression (SVR), multilinear and multi-nonlinear regression techniques to predict total dissolve solids (TSO) and electrical conductivity (ECO), which are essential water quality indicators. To develop the anticipated models, seven effective parameters: Ca2+ Mg2+ Na+ Cl- SO42- HCO3- and pH were used as input variables. The external validation criteria were employed to address the modeling overfitting. The outcome of the study demonstrated a strong association between experimental and models predicted data. The coefficient of determination was 0.97, 0.96, 0.92, and 0.94 for SVR, ANN, MLR, and MNLR models, respectively. The lowest error value of 5.37 and 7.92 was attained by SVR model for training and testing data, respectively. Performance of the proposed techniques showed relative dominance of SVR compared to ANN, MLR and MNLR. Sensitivity analysis demonstrated that the HCO3- is the most sensitive parameter for both TSO and ECO followed by Cl- and SO42-. The models assessment on external criteria ensured generalized results. Conclusively, the outcome of the present research indicated that formulation of machine learning models for prediction of water quality parameters are cost effective and helpful in river water quality assessment, management and policy making.  相似文献

A chemometric approach based on the combined use of the principal component analysis (PCA) and artificial neural network (ANN) was developed for the multicomponent determination of caffeine (CAF), mepyramine (MEP), phenylpropanolamine (PPA) and pheniramine (PNA) in their pharmaceutical preparations without any chemical separation. The predictive ability of the ANN method was compared with the classical linear regression method Partial Least Squares 2 (PLS2). The UV spectral data between 220 and 300 nm of a training set of sixteen quaternary mixtures were processed by PCA to reduce the dimensions of input data and eliminate the noise coming from instrumentation. Several spectral ranges and different numbers of principal components (PCs) were tested to find the PCA-ANN and PLS2 models reaching the best determination results. A two layer ANN, using the first four PCs, was used with log-sigmoid transfer function in first hidden layer and linear transfer function in output layer. Standard error of prediction (SEP) was adopted to assess the predictive accuracy of the models when subjected to external validation. PCA-ANN showed better prediction ability in the determination of PPA and PNA in synthetic samples with added excipients and pharmaceutical formulations. Since both components are characterized by low absorptivity, the better performance of PCA-ANN was ascribed to the ability in considering all non-linear information from noise or interfering excipients.  相似文献

In this work it has been shown that the routine ASTM methods (ASTM 4052, ASTM D 445, ASTM D 4737, ASTM D 93, and ASTM D 86) recommended by the ANP (the Brazilian National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) to determine the quality of diesel/biodiesel blends are not suitable to prevent the adulteration of B2 or B5 blends with vegetable oils. Considering the previous and actual problems with fuel adulterations in Brazil, we have investigated the application of vibrational spectroscopy (Fourier transform (FT) near infrared spectrometry and FT-Raman) to identify adulterations of B2 and B5 blends with vegetable oils. Partial least square regression (PLS), principal component regression (PCR), and artificial neural network (ANN) calibration models were designed and their relative performances were evaluated by external validation using the F-test. The PCR, PLS, and ANN calibration models based on the Fourier transform (FT) near infrared spectrometry and FT-Raman spectroscopy were designed using 120 samples. Other 62 samples were used in the validation and external validation, for a total of 182 samples. The results have shown that among the designed calibration models, the ANN/FT-Raman presented the best accuracy (0.028%, w/w) for samples used in the external validation.  相似文献

This article shows the ability of artificial neural network (ANN) technology for predicting the correlation between rheological properties of multi-component food model systems and their chemical compositions. Multi-component food model systems were made of whey protein isolate (WPI) (2, 4 wt%), Iranian tragacanth gum (TG) (Astragalus gossypinus) (0.5, 1 wt%) and oleic acid (5, 10% v/v). The input parameters of the neural networks (NN) were these chemical compositions, namely WPI and TG concentrations, and oleic acid volume fractions. The output parameters of the NN models were rheological properties of multi-component food model systems (flow and consistency indices, viscosity, loss and storage moduli). Results showed that, ANN with training algorithm of back propagation (BP) was the best one for the creation of nonlinear mapping between input and output parameters. The best topology was 3-10-5. The ANN model predicted the rheological properties of multi-component food model systems with average RMSE 4.529 and average MAE 3.018. These results show that the ANN can potentially be used to estimate rheological parameters of multi-component food model systems from chemical composition. This development may have significant potential to improve product quality control and reduce time and costs by minimizing the rheological experiments.  相似文献

Hydrogels based on acrylamide (AAm) were synthesized by free radical polymerization in an aqueous solution using N,N’-methylenebisacrylamide (MBAAm) as crosslinker. To obtain anionic hydrogels, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid sodium salt (AMPS) and acrylic acid (AAc) were used as comonomers. The swelling behaviors of all hydrogel systems were modeled using an artificial neural network (ANN) and compared with a multivariable least squares regression (MLSR) model and phenomenal model. The predictions from the ANN model, which associated input parameters, including the amounts of crosslinker (MBA) and comonomer, and swelling values with time, produce results that show excellent correlation with experimental data. The parameters of swelling kinetics and water diffusion mechanisms of the hydrogels were calculated using the obtained experimental data. Model analysis indicated that the ANN models could accurately describe complex swelling behaviors of highly swellable hydrogels.  相似文献
