We study the concave and convex solutions of the third order similarity differential equation f′′′?+?ff′′?+?g(f′)?=?0, and especially the ones that satisfies the boundary conditions f(0)?=?a, f′(0)?=?b and f′(t) → λ as t →?+?∞, where λ is a root of the function g. According to the sign of g between b and λ, we obtain results about existence, uniqueness and boundedness of solutions to this boundary value problem, that we denote by ${({\mathcal P}_{{\bf g};a,b,\lambda})}$ . In this way, we pursue and complete the study done in 2008.  相似文献

Let {W i (t), t ∈ ?+}, i = 1, 2, be two Wiener processes, and let W 3 = {W 3(t), t? + 2 } be a two-parameter Brownian sheet, all three processes being mutually independent. We derive upper and lower bounds for the boundary noncrossing probability P f = P{W 1(t 1) + W 2(t 2) + W 3(t) + f(t) ≤ u(t), t? + 2 }, where f, u : ? + 2 ? are two general measurable functions. We further show that, for large trend functions γf > 0, asymptotically, as γ → ∞, P γf is equivalent to \( {P}_{\gamma}\underset{\bar{\mkern6mu}}{{}_f} \) , where \( \underset{\bar{\mkern6mu}}{f} \) is the projection of f onto some closed convex set of the reproducing kernel Hilbert space of the field W(t) = W 1(t 1) + W 2(t 2) + W 3(t). It turns out that our approach is also applicable for the additive Brownian pillow.  相似文献

In “Part I” (presented at Ord05 (Oxford, MS)), we have discussed, for reduced archimedean f-rings, the canonical extension of such a ring, A, to one with identity, uA, and the class U of u-extendable maps (i.e., homomorphisms which lift over the u’s to identity preserving homomorphisms). We showed that U is a category and u becomes a functor from U which is a monoreflection; the maps in U were characterized. This paper addresses the interaction between our functor u, and v , the vector lattice monoreflection in archimedean ?-groups (due to Conrad and Bleier). In short, v restricts to a monoreflection of reduced archimedean f-rings into reduced archimedean f-algebras, ψU if and only if v ψU, and vu is a monoreflection into reduced archimedean f-algebras with identity. This work was motivated by the question put to us by G. Buskes at Ord05: what maps are o-extendable; i.e., extend over the orthomorphism rings? (The orthomorphism ring oA is a unital extension of uA, and any o-extendable map lies in U.) While a complete answer seems quite complicated (if not hopelessly out of reach), here we shall identify a class of objects D for which oD = vuD and all maps from D lie in U, hence any map from D to a reduced archimedean f-algebra is o-extendable.  相似文献

Under certain conditions, the contraction mapping fixed point theorem guarantees the convergence of the iterationx i+1=f(x i ) toward a fixed point of the functionf:R nR n. When an interval extensionF off is used in a similar iteration scheme to obtain a sequence of interval vectors these conditions need not provide convergence to a degenerate interval vector representing the fixed point, even if the width of the initial interval vector is chosen arbitrarily small. We give a sufficient condition on the extensionF in order that the convergence is guaranteed. The centered form of Moore satisfies this condition.  相似文献

We describe classes of vectors f from a Hilbert space H for which the quantity ‖T(t)f?f‖, where T(t)=e ?tA , t≥0, and A is a self-adjoint nonnegative operator in H, has a certain order of convergence to zero as t→+0.  相似文献

Let (V, f) be a real Minkowski space of any, not necessarily finite, dimension, and letd be the corresponding distance function (taking negative values for timelike distances). Then the following statement (among others) is proved: If ? :VV is a surjective mapping such that $$d(P,Q) = a \Leftrightarrow d(P^\varphi ,Q^\varphi ) = a\forall P,Q \in V$$ is true for some fixeda εR,a<0, then ? is a Lorentz transformation (including a possible translation).  相似文献

We examine the functional-differential equation Δu(x) — div(u(H(x))f (x)) = 0 on a torus which is a generalization of the stationary Fokker-Planck equation. Under sufficiently general assumptions on the vector field f and the map H, we prove the existence of a nontrivial solution. In some cases the subspace of solutions is established to be multidimensional.  相似文献

LetR be a ring. For the setF of all nonzero ideals ofR, we introduce an equivalence relation inF as follows: For idealsI andJ, I~J if and only ifV R (I)=V R(J), whereV R() is the centralizer inR. LetI R=F/~. Then we can see thatn(I R), the cardinality ofI R, is 1 if and only ifR is either a prime ring or a commutative ring (Theorem 1.1). An idealI ofR is said to be a commutator ideal ifI is generated by{st?ts; s∈S, t∈T} for subsetS andT ofR, andR is said to be a ring with (N) if any commutator ideal contains no nonzero nilpotent ideals. Then we have the following main theorem: LetR be a ring with (N). Thenn(I R) is finite if and only ifR is isomorphic to an irredundant subdirect sum ofS⊕Z whereS is a finite direct sum of non commutative prime rings andZ is a commutative ring (Theorem 2.1). Finally, we show that the existence of a ringR such thatn(I R)=m for any given natural numberm.  相似文献

Fried and MacRae (Math. Ann. 180, 220?C226 (1969)) proved that for univariate polynomials ${p,q, f, g \in \mathbb{K}[t]}$ ( ${\mathbb{K}}$ a field) with p, q nonconstant, p(x) ? q(y) divides f(x) ? g(y) in ${\mathbb{K}[x,y]}$ if and only if there is ${h \in \mathbb{K}[t]}$ such that f?=?h(p(t)) and g?=?h(q(t)). Schicho (Arch. Math. 65, 239?C243 (1995)) proved this theorem from the viewpoint of category theory, thereby providing several generalizations to multivariate polynomials. In the present note, we give a new proof of one of these generalizations. The theorem by Fried and MacRae yields a way to prove the following fact for nonconstant functions f, g from ${\mathbb{C}}$ to ${\mathbb{C}}$ : if both the composition ${f \circ g}$ and g are polynomial functions, then f has to be a polynomial function as well. We give an algebraic proof of this fact and present a generalization to multivariate polynomials over algebraically closed fields. This provides a way to prove a generalization of a result by Carlitz (Acta Sci. Math. (Szeged) 24, 196?C203 (1963)) that describes those univariate polynomials over finite fields that induce bijective functions on all of their finite extensions.  相似文献

The quadratic functional minimization with differential restrictions represented by the command linear systems is considered. The optimal solution determination implies the solving of a linear problem with two points boundary values. The proposed method implies the construction of a fundamental solution S(t)—a n×n matrix—and of a vector h(t) defining an adjoint variable λ(t) depending of the state variable x(t). From the extremum necessary conditions it is obtained the Riccati matrix differential equation having the S(t) as unknown fundamental solution is obtained. The paper analyzes the existence of the Riccati equation solution S(t) and establishes as the optimal solution of the proposed optimum problem. Also a superior limit of the minimum for the considered quadratic functionals class are evaluated.  相似文献

Let [K:Q]=k, fi εK[[z]], ξ εK, Q εK[y1,...,ym]. A relation Q(f1(ξ),..., fm(ξ))=0 is called global if it holds in any local field where all fi(ξ) exist. The paper establishes that for series of the form $$\sum\limits_{n = 0}^\infty {\frac{{(\mu _1 )_n \ldots (\mu _p )_n }}{{(\lambda _1 )_n \ldots (\lambda _{q - 1} )_n n!}}\left( {\frac{{z^{p - q} }}{{q - p}}} \right)^n , p > q,} $$ with some natural hypotheses on parameters global relations do not exist. We find a formula that relates the Fourier transform of a radial function on R n with the Fourier transform of the same function defined on R n+2. This formula enables one to explicitly calculate the Fourier transform of any radial function f(r) in any dimension, provided one knows the Fourier transform of the one-dimensional function t?f(|t|) and the two-dimensional function (x 1,x 2)?f(|(x 1,x 2)|). We prove analogous results for radial tempered distributions.  相似文献

A tree T is said to be homogeneous if it is uniquely rooted and there exists an integer b ≥ 2, called the branching number of T, such that every tT has exactly b immediate successors. A vector homogeneous tree T is a finite sequence (T 1,...,T d ) of homogeneous trees and its level product ?T is the subset of the Cartesian product T 1×...×T d consisting of all finite sequences (t 1,...,t d ) of nodes having common length. We study the behavior of measurable events in probability spaces indexed by the level product ?T of a vector homogeneous tree T. We show that, by refining the index set to the level product ?S of a vector strong subtree S of T, such families of events become highly correlated. An analogue of Lebesgue’s density Theorem is also established which can be considered as the “probabilistic” version of the density Halpern-Läuchli Theorem.  相似文献

Recently, Philippe et al. (C.R. Acad. Sci. Paris. Ser. I 342, 269–274, 2006; Theory Probab. Appl., 2007, to appear) introduced a new class of time-varying fractionally integrated filters A(d)x t =∑ j=0 a j (t)x t?j , B(d)x t =∑ j=0 b j (t)x t?j depending on arbitrary given sequence d=(d t ,t∈?) of real numbers, such that A(d)?1=B(?d), B(d)?1=A(?d) and such that when d t d is a constant, A(d)=B(d)=(1?L) d is the usual fractional differencing operator. Philippe et al. studied partial sums limits of (nonstationary) filtered white noise processes X t =B(d)ε t and Y t =A(d)ε t in the case when (1) d is almost periodic having a mean value $\bar{d}\in (0,1/2)$ , or (2) d admits limits d ±=lim? t→±∞ d t ∈(0,1/2) at t=±∞. The present paper extends the above mentioned results of Philippe et al. into two directions. Firstly, we consider the class of time-varying processes with infinite variance, by assuming that ε t ,t∈? are iid rv’s in the domain of attraction of α-stable law (1<α≤2). Secondly, we combine the classes (1) and (2) of sequences d=(d t ,t∈?) into a single class of sequences d=(d t ,t∈?) admitting possibly different Cesaro limits $\bar{d}_{\pm}\in(0,1-(1/\alpha))$ at ±∞. We show that partial sums of X t and Y t converge to some α-stable self-similar processes depending on the asymptotic parameters $\bar{d}_{\pm}$ and having asymptotically stationary or asymptotically vanishing increments.  相似文献

We generalize earlier results of Fokas and Liu and find all locally analytic (1 + 1)-dimensional evolution equations of order n that admit an N-shock-type solution with Nn + 1. For this, we develop a refinement of the technique from our earlier work, where we completely characterized all (1+1)-dimensional evolution systems u t = F (x, t, u, ?u/?x,..., ?n u/? x n) that are conditionally invariant under a given generalized (Lie-Bäcklund) vector field Q(x, t, u, ?u/?x,..., ?k u/?x k)?/?u under the assumption that the system of ODEs Q = 0 is totally nondegenerate. Every such conditionally invariant evolution system admits a reduction to a system of ODEs in t, thus being a nonlinear counterpart to quasi-exactly solvable models in quantum mechanics.  相似文献

Let U be the quantum group and f be the Lusztig’s algebra associated with a symmetrizable generalized Cartan matrix. The algebra f can be viewed as the positive part of U. Lusztig introduced some symmetries T i on U for all iI. Since T i (f) is not contained in f, Lusztig considered two subalgebras i f and i f of f for any iI, where i f={xf | T i (x) ∈ f} and \({^{i}\mathbf {f}}=\{x\in \mathbf {f}\,\,|\,\,T^{-1}_{i}(x)\in \mathbf {f}\}\). The restriction of T i on i f is also denoted by \(T_{i}:{_{i}\mathbf {f}}\rightarrow {^{i}\mathbf {f}}\). The geometric realization of f and its canonical basis are introduced by Lusztig via some semisimple complexes on the variety consisting of representations of the corresponding quiver. When the generalized Cartan matrix is symmetric, Xiao and Zhao gave geometric realizations of Lusztig’s symmetries in the sense of Lusztig. In this paper, we shall generalize this result and give geometric realizations of i f, i f and \(T_{i}:{_{i}\mathbf {f}}\rightarrow {^{i}\mathbf {f}}\) by using the language ’quiver with automorphism’ introduced by Lusztig.  相似文献

It is well known that a tensor Stieltjes function f represents an effective transport coefficient q of an inhomogeneous medium consisting of two isotropic components. In this paper, we investigate multipoint matrix Padé approximants to matrix expansions of f. We prove that matrix Padé ones to f estimate f from the top and below. Consequently the Padé approximants to q form upper and lower bounds on q. The inequalities for matrix Padé bounds on f and q are established. They reduce to the inequalities for scalar Padé ones Tokarzewski (ZAMP 61:773–780, 2010). As an illustrative example, matrix Padé estimates of an effective conductivity of a specially laminated two-phase medium are computed.  相似文献

Denote by $\hat f$ the (complex) Fourier transform of a functionf which belongs toL 1(R 2). We shall assume thatf is odd inx andy, orf is even inx and odd iny, orf is odd inx and even iny. Among others, we prove that iffL 1(R 2) and (x, y)=(0,0) is a strong Lebesgue point off, then $\left| t \right|\left| v \right|\hat f(t,v)$ tends to 0 as |t|, |v|→∞ in the sense (C;α,β) for allα,β>1.  相似文献
