The present study aims to study the normal and shear stresses produced in a rough irregular heterogeneous monoclinic half-space due to a normal moving load. Closed form expressions of normal and shear stresses have been obtained. It is observed that both normal stress and shear stress are affected not only by depth, the frictional coefficient on a rough surface, and the maximum depth of irregularity but also by the heterogeneity and types of irregularity in the medium. The comparative study has been made to analyze the effect of different types of irregularity on both the stresses. There is a significant effect of depth, frictional coefficient, heterogeneity, maximum depth of irregularity and irregularity factor on the normal and shear stresses in both heterogeneous monoclinic and heterogeneous isotropic medium. A comparison is made to study the effects of the said parameters on the normal and shear stress produced in both heterogeneous medium. These effects are highlighted and depicted by means of graphs. As a special case of the problem, the stress produced due to normal moving load in an isotropic half-space with and without heterogeneity, irregularity has been discussed.  相似文献

The present article deals with the stresses developed in an initially stressed irregular viscoelastic half-space due to a load moving with a constant velocity at a rough free surface.Expressions for normal and shear stresses are obtained in closed form. The substantial effects of influence parameters, viz., depth(from the free surface), irregularity factor, maximum depth of irregularity, viscoelastic parameter, horizontal and vertical initial stresses,and frictional coefficient, on normal and shear stresses are investigated. Moreover, comparative study is carried out for three different cases of irregularity, viz., rectangular irregularity,parabolic irregularity and no irregularity, which is manifested through graphs.  相似文献

Recently, the authors have focused on the shear behavior of interface between granular soil body and very rough surface of moving bounding structure. For this purpose, they have used finite element method and a micro-polar elasto-plastic continuum model. They have shown that the boundary conditions assumed along the interface have strong influences on the soil behavior. While in the previous studies, only very rough bounding interfaces have been taken into account, the present investigation focuses on the rough, medium rough and relatively smooth interfaces. In this regard, plane monotonic shearing of an infinite extended narrow granular soil layer is simulated under constant vertical pressure and free dilatancy. The soil layer is located between two parallel rigid boundaries of different surface roughness values. Particular attention is paid to the effect of surface roughness of top and bottom boundaries on the shear behavior of granular soil layer. It is shown that the interaction between roughness of bounding structure surface and the rotation resistance of bounding grains can be modeled in a reasonable manner through considered Cosserat boundary conditions. The influence of surface roughness is investigated on the soil shear strength mobilized along the interface as well as on the location and evolution of shear localization formed within the layer. The obtained numerical results have been qualitatively compared with experimental observations as well as DEM simulations, and acceptable agreement is shown.  相似文献

目前基于临界平面理论的高周疲劳寿命预测模型, 大都充分考虑了法向平均应力对材料疲劳寿命的影响, 但是没有有效反映剪切平均应力对疲劳寿命的影响. 通过分析7075-T651铝合金的试验数据发现, 与法向拉平均应力类似, 剪切平均应力同样对材料的疲劳寿命产生不利影响. 因此, 如果寿命预测模型中忽略剪切平均应力的影响, 存在明显剪切平均应力加载工况下, 预测寿命可能偏于危险. 由此, 本文定义具有较大法向应力的最大剪应力范围平面为临界平面, 建立了一个能够同时反映法向和剪切平均应力影响的高周疲劳寿命预测模型, 并给出了模型中材料常数的确定方法. 新模型首先将基于应变的Fatemi-Socie准则, 推广到材料的高周疲劳寿命预测, 给出了Fatemi-Socie准则的应力表述形式. 然后, 引入剪切和法向Walker因子, 反映剪切和法向平均应力对材料疲劳寿命的影响. 剪切和法向Walker因子的取值都介于0和1之间, 不同取值反映了材料对剪切和法向平均应力敏感程度的不同. 新模型适用于范围内的金属塑性材料. 利用5种材料在12种存在平均应力加载工况下的试验数据, 对所建模型进行了试验验证, 结果表明预测结果与试验结果吻合良好, 绝大多数寿命预测结果分布在3倍误差带以内.  相似文献

The growth and relaxation of shear and normal stresses have been investigated for glass and carbon fiber-filled polyethylene melts over a wide range of shear rates and temperatures by means of a cone-and-plate rheogoniometer. Flow parameters and flow curves characterizing the stress overshoot and relaxation phenomena of the fiber-filled systems were determined experimentally. The influence of fiber loading, fiber size and temperature on the transient flow parameters are discussed.Predictions by the Meister and Bogue constitutive equations were compared with the experimental data for the transient shear and normal stresses. These equations predict satisfactorily the non-linear transient shear flow of polymer melts and its fiber-filled systems.  相似文献

The orthogonal superposition of small and large amplitude oscillations upon steady shear flow of elastic fluids has been considered. Theoretical results, obtained by numerical methods, are based on the Leonov viscoelastic constitutive equation. Steady-state components, amplitudes and phase angles of the oscillatory components of the shear stress, the first and second normal stress differences as functions of shear rate, deformation amplitude and frequency have been calculated. These oscillatory components include the first and third harmonic of the shear stresses and the second harmonic of the normal stresses. In the case of small amplitude superposition, the effect of the steady shear flow upon the frequency-dependent storage modulus and dynamic viscosity has been determined and compared with experimental data available in literature for polymeric solutions. The predicted results have been found to be in fair agreement with the experimental data at low shear rates and only in qualitative agreement at high shear rates and low frequencies. A comparison of the present theoretical results has also been made with the predictions of other theories.In the case of large amplitude superposition, the effect of oscillations upon the steady shear flow characteristics has been determined, indicating that the orthogonal superposition has less influence on the steady state shear stresses and the first difference of normal stresses than the parallel superposition. However, in the orthogonal superposition a more pronounced influence has been observed for the second difference of normal stresses.  相似文献

The paper studies the propagation of torsional surface waves in an initially stressed anisotropic poro-elastic layer over a semi-infinite heterogeneous half space with linearly varying rigidity and density due to irregularity at the interface. The irregularity is taken in the half space in the form of a rectangle. It is observed that torsional surface waves propagate in this assumed medium. In the absence of the irregularity, the velocity equation of the torsional surface wave is also obtained. For a layer over a homogeneous half space, the velocity of torsional surface waves coincides with that of the Love waves.  相似文献

We performed direct simulations of channel flow subjected to rotation about a spanwise axis, comparing cases with smooth and rough walls. The destabilizing effect of roughness counteracts the stabilizing effect of rotation on the cyclonic (stable) side. When the surface is rough the Reynolds stresses remain significant at all rotation rates considered, even those that results in a quasi-laminar state when the wall is smooth. The wake fluctuations result in significant dispersive stresses, which give an important contribution to the generation of turbulence on the stable side, mainly through added production of shear stresses. The dispersive stresses are mostly associated with the channeling of the flow between roughness elements.  相似文献

目前,由于颗粒尺寸和位置随机分布而产生的粗糙度,导致在模拟过程中出现应力集中现象,从而无法利用PFC2D准确模拟岩石结构面的剪切力学行为。为了避免以上弊端,采用结构面两侧颗粒组接触判别法分别对倾角为20°和30°的三角形单锯齿结构面进行不同法向应力下的直剪模拟。模拟结果与物理试验结果基本吻合,表明此模拟方法可以真实模拟岩石结构面剪切力学行为。为了进一步验证此模拟方法在天然结构面模拟试验中的可行性,利用PFC2D对Barton标准十条节理轮廓线模型进行不同法向应力下的直剪试验,模拟结果与理论值吻合,表明模拟方法具有可行性,为剪切破坏过程和机理分析提供可靠的理论依据,为研究粗糙结构面强度特征提供了一种思路。  相似文献

Relaxation has been investigated in immiscible blends that consist of slightly viscoelastic components. Both the shear and normal stresses have been measured after cessation of steady shear flow as well as after transient shear histories. The latter can generate a fibrillar structure which can relax by either retraction or break-up via end-pinching or Rayleigh instabilities. Each of these three relaxation mechanisms is reflected in the shape of the stress curves, from which also the corresponding structural time scales can be deduced. The experimental results have been used to evaluate the Doi-Ohta and Lee-Park models for immiscible blends. The scaling relations by Doi-Ohta are confirmed by the experimental results, but none of the existing models can correctly predict the complex relaxation behaviour observed for a highly deformed droplet phase. In the present study an alternative approach has been proposed. The stress relaxation due to fibril break-up via Rayleigh instabilities has been predicted successfully by combining physical models for the structural changes with the basic approach of the Doi-Ohta model.  相似文献

This paper examines the numerical displacements and stresses developed around a disc under horizontal prescribed displacements and at the interface separating it from the surrounding elastic soil. Since the geometry of the problem exhibits axial symmetry and the loading is non-axisymmetric, the semi-analytical FE approach is used as it proves to be efficient and economical. First, both analytical and numerical expressions for soil reaction are established and compared. Results of comparison show a very good agreement. Then, for different values of the soil Poisson’s ratio, normal radial stresses, orthoradial stresses and shear stresses distributions along radial distance reaching 20r d (r d is the disc radius) are presented for a disc that has either perfectly smooth or perfectly rough interfaces with the elastic medium. The paper finishes by showing the effect of the soil Poisson’s ratio as well as the relative soil/interface stiffness on the stresses developed at the interface locations.  相似文献

岩石是多种矿物颗粒构成的天然材料,内部存在不同尺度的孔隙、裂隙等损伤;岩体工程设计及灾害防治所使用的强度准则仍在研究之中.材料的黏结和摩擦在局部不能同时存在,线性的Coulomb准则仅在小范围内近似描述圆柱试样的常规三轴强度,众多非线性强度准则只是经验公式而缺乏物理背景. 作者提出的指数准则可描述岩石剪切破坏时强度与围压的关系;基于对11组试验数据的拟合结果在莫尔应力空间分析黏结力和摩擦力的变化特征:岩石承载的剪切力存在上限即材料的真实黏结力c0;在试验范围内莫尔概念的内摩擦力达到约为0.38 c0的峰值,且黏结力在其附近相交. 材料真实黏结力与正应力无关,因而名义黏结力表征了完好材料剪切破裂的面积;基于裂隙面积计算的等效摩擦因子随正应力降低,意味着裂隙滑移的爬坡角减小,而后者取决于正应力与真实黏结力的比值. 等效摩擦因子与指数准则的材料参数具有确定关系,体现了岩石在压应力作用下剪切破裂的物理背景.   相似文献

In this paper, a theory of thick-walled shells is established by means of Hellinger-Reissner's variational principle, with displacement and stress assumptions. The displacements are expanded into power series of the thickness coordinate. Only the first four and the first three terms are used for the displacements parallel and normal to the middle surface respectively. The normal extruding and transverse shear stresses are assumed to bt, cubic polynomials and to satLyfy the boundary stress conditions on the outer and inner surfaces of the shell. The governing equations and boundary conditions are derived by means of variational principle. As an example, a thick-walled cylindrical.shell is disscussed with the theory proposed. Furthermore, a photoelastic experiment has been carried out, and the results are in fair agreement with the computations.  相似文献

The paper considers two dynamical problems for an isotropic elastic media with spatially varying functional inhomogeneity, the propagation of surface anti-plane shear SH waves, and the stress deformation state of an anti-plane vibrating medium with a semi-infinite crack. These problems are considered for five different types of inhomogeneity. It is shown that the propagation of surface anti-plane shear waves is possible in all these cases. The existence conditions and the speed of propagation of surface waves have been found. In the section devoted to the investigation of the stress deformation state of a vibrating medium with a semi-infinite crack, Fourier transforms along with the Wiener Hopf technique are employed to solve the equations of motion. The asymptotic expression for the stress near the crack tip is analyzed, which leads to a closed form solution of the dynamic stress intensity factor (DSIF). Here also the problem is considered for five different functional inhomogeneities. When ocean waves propagate over the sea floor,dynamic wave pressures and bottom shear stresses exert on the surface of seabed.The bottom shear stresses provide a horizontal loading in the wave-seabed interaction system,while dynamic wave pressures provide a vertical loading in the system.However,the bottom shear stresses have been ignored in most previous studies in the past.In this study,the effects of the bottom shear stresses on the dynamic response in a seabed of finite thickness under wave loading will be examined,based on Biot’s dynamic poro-elastic theory.In the model,an "u-p" approximation will be adopted instead of quasi-static model that have been used in most previous studies.Numerical results indicate that the bottom shear stresses has certain influences on the wave-induced seabed dynamic response.Furthermore,wave and soil characteristics have considerable influences on the relative difference of seabed response between the previous model(without shear stresses) and the present model(with shear stresses).As shown in the parametric study,the relative differences between two models could up to 10% of p0,depending on the amplitude of bottom shear stresses.  相似文献

A static-equilibrium problem is solved for an electroelastic transversely isotropic medium with a flat crack of arbitrary shape located in the plane of isotropy. The medium is subjected to symmetric mechanical and electric loads. A relationship is established between the stress intensity factor (SIF) and electric-displacement intensity factor (EDIF) for an infinite piezoceramic body and the SIF for a purely elastic material with a crack of the same shape. This allows us to find the SIF and EDIF for an electroelastic material directly from the corresponding elastic problem, not solving electroelastic problems. Equations have been obtained for determining residual stresses in the wall of a hollow, axially symmetric body consisting of concentric layers of elastically dissimilar materials, all having cylindrical elastic orthotropy. These equations permit residual normal stresses in the radial, circumferential, and axial directions and residual shear stresses on planes normal to the axis of the body to be calculated from measurements of the strains developed on the inner or outer cylindrical surface of the body as thin layers of stressed material are serially removed from the outer or inner surfaces, respectively. The equations are applied to a parametric study of stresses in an elastically isotropic, two-component body to determine the nature of the differences in stresses between the composite body and a homogeneous body as a function of the difference in elastic constants.  相似文献

The present paper discusses the dispersion equation for SH waves in a monoclinic layer over a semi-infinite elastic medium with an irregularity. In the absence of the irregularity, the dispersion equation reduces to standard dispersion equation for SH waves in a monoclinic layer over an isotropic semi-infinite medium. The dispersion curves for different size of the irregularity are computed and compared for the half-space without any irregularity. It can be seen that the phase velocity is strongly influenced by the wave number and the depth of the irregularity.  相似文献
